Jennifer Hudson And Renee Rapp Team Up To Cover Beyonce Hit

Beyonce’s massive summer Renaissance tour may have recently wrapped up but fans looking to hear more of her songs won’t be missing out. In a new video making the rounds the multi-talented Jennifer Hudson and one of 2023’s breakout musical stars Renee Rapp team up to give their own take on a Beyonce classic. In the video they duet Beyonce’s 2003 mega-hit “Dangerously In Love,” and what they do with it has fans stunned.

Jennifer Hudson’s soulful rendition of the song had fans discussing how she tends to perform. “Jennifer done turned the song into a negro spiritual,” and “J Hud doesn’t have that much versatility in her voice, it always turns into gospel,” two of the top comments on the post read. Others also point out their thoughts that Hudson may have been outperformed by Rapp. “Was this a live show? If I got ate up on my own show, I wouldn’t have aired this scene. & the guest would be banned because BYE!!!!” one particular comment jokes. Check out the full video below.

Jennifer Hudson And Renee Rapp Take On “Dangerously In Love”

There’s been speculation surrounding Jennifer Hudson for a couple reasons this year. The first was her potential relationship with Common. After the pair showed off some PDA earlier this year she was non-committal when discussing the details of the relationship. The dating reports go all the way back to early this year but the couple are clearly content to keep things pretty lowkey. There’s also been rumors swirling, not helped by Hudson herself, or a potential Verzuz between her and Fantasia.

On the other hand, Renee Rapp is having quite an impressive breakout 2023. Her rise in star power ultimately concluded with a nomination for Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards. While she and Peso Pluma were eventually beaten out by Ice Spice, it’s still a pretty significant achievement to be nominated. What do you think of Jennifer Hudson and Renee Rapp’s cover of Beyonce’s “Dangerously In Love”? Let us know in the comment section below.

Beyoncé Announces Next Ivy Park Drop, “IVY PARK NOIR”: What We Know

Beyoncé’s universally acclaimed Renaissance World Tour may have come to an end, but the superstar is far from done. After several months of touring, she still isn’t done making power moves. At the final show of the RWT in Kansas City, Beyoncé screened the trailer of her upcoming tour documentary film. Just three days later, she announced a new IVY PARK drop, dubbed IVY PARK NOIR. Fans are beside themselves with excitement, even as they playfully complain that Queen Bey isn’t letting them catch a break.

Before The IVY PARK NOIR Announcement

Beyoncé is not new to creating events out of her fashion drops, even when we travel all the way back to her House of Deréon days. Since 2016, IVY Park has released several collections. She frequently sent out merch boxes to celebrities and influencers, and fans continued to look forward to new releases. In March 2023, Beyoncé and Adidas were reported to be heading in separate directions. Due to creative differences, they mutually agreed to part ways. One day later, she announced a partnership with French designer Balmain. Together, they debuted a “wearable album” line, dubbed the “Renaissance Couture.”

Her collaboration with Adidas has continued to gain traction ever since the first IVY PARK collection hit the market. While it’s no longer news that Beyoncé and Adidas are parting ways, it’s not over just yet. After she announced the tour documentary film on October 1, 2023, it came as a surprise to most. But she evidently had a few more surprises up her sleeve.

Introducing: IVY PARK NOIR

Throughout the lauded Renaissance tour, Beyoncé wore numerous custom-made outfits. Her wardrobe was seemingly limitless, and this just made the tour even more iconic. The entire tour was a fashion designer’s fantasy and a spectacle of meticulously curated looks. For her final performance of the tour, Beyoncé chose to make the stage a sea of black. The superstar closed out the RWT in an all-black IVY PARK look. Moreover, her dancers were decked out in similar all-black outfits as well.

Days later, she took to Instagram to reveal that those outfits were actually some looks from her upcoming IVY PARK collection. She captioned the post, “Felt great to design and wear the final IVY PARK drop (with adidas 👀💃🏽🕺🏽🪩) on the final show of the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR. The Blackout. IVY PARK NOIR dropping Oct 12.” As expected, the Beyhive went into yet another frenzy.

What to Expect From The New Collection

The final installment of Adidas and IVY PARK’s collaboration promises to be a dark affair. The collection was heavily inspired by the Film Noir genre, as stated on Adidas’ official website. IVY PARK NOIR features an all-black monochromatic colorway. The designs are sporty and trendy, as seen in some of the pictures shared. It is a limited-edition collection, and features leather jerseys, body-con pieces, and stylish sweat suits among others, steeped in black. The inclusive designs will be in sizes ranging from XXS to 3XL. The price points for the collection will range from $35 to $350. IVY PARK NOIR goes live globally on October 12, 2023.

GloRilla Revealed That She Was Fired From Nike After Singing A Beyoncé Deep Cut On The Job

Last year, GloRilla‘s life changed after years of putting in hard work. Before making a breakthrough with hits like “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2,” she worked various part-time jobs. However, she admitted that those jobs didn’t always work out.

In an interview with HipHopDX taken at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards, the Memphis rapper revealed that she once got fired from a job for singing a deep cut by one of her favorite artists.

Glo shared that she worked at Amazon, Walmart, and Nike, but her first love was always music. She always had fun on the job, however, Glo noted that having fun while working these gigs would often result in her getting fired.

“Me and my friend, [rapper] Gloss Up, we were singin’ a Beyoncé song and we got fired from Nike,” she said.

The song in question was “Dance For You” from Bey’s 2011 album, 4. And while she may have gotten terminated from the job, it wasn’t a total L for Glo. Elsewhere in the interview, she revealed that she attended three shows on Beyoncé’s critically-acclaimed Renaissance World Tour this year.

It’s safe to say that Glo’s pre-fame work experiences didn’t break her soul.

You can see the interview above.

Kim Kardashian Looked Back On The Time She ‘Blacked Out’ While Partying With Beyoncé

Kim Kardashian recently tried beer for the first time (or so she claims), but she’s not new to liquor. On the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder revealed she once “blacked out” while partying with Beyoncé.

“I’m definitely still a lightweight. I’ll have, like, two shots, and I’ll be wasted and it’s so much fun. I’ll be dancing on the dance floor,” she said. “Seriously, I know you guys don’t believe me — ask Beyoncé! I danced all night long at her party, I think I blacked out.” Kardashian “woke up to so many text messages, and I was like, ‘Khloé, what did I do?’ She’s like, ‘You were dropping it low and dancing,’ and I was like, ‘Nooo!’ I danced all night long and had no idea.”

InStyle did important journalism about when the dancing may have occured:

It’s unclear which Beyoncé party Kim was referring to, but if we had to guess it was the singer’s 41st birthday bash last year. And the timeline adds up. Back in 2022, Kardashian admitted that she had begun drinking again after abstaining from alcohol for years. “I started to drink a little bit at the age of 42. Coffee and alcohol,” she told Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop podcast in December. “I feel like I just gotta let loose a little bit.”

If drinking too many Miller Lites while watching Austin Powers in Goldmember counts, then I, too, have gotten blackout drunk while partying with Beyoncé.

Beyonce’s Praise Of Jay-Z In Resurfaced Clip Has Twitter Up In Arms, Yung Miami Weighs In

It’s kind of hilarious to see how a video from over 15 years ago can still spark so much debate and criticism of a couple’s current life. Moreover, that’s exactly what’s happening to Beyonce and Jay-Z right now, stemming from a resurfaced clip of a 2006 birthday toast from Bey to Jay. “This is nothing compared to what you’ve done for me,” she began her heartfelt message. “Not only me, but everybody here. You taught me how to be a woman. You’ve given me so much in life. It’s not enough I can give you. I just want you to be happy, and every year, I’m even more in love with you.

So then, you might be asking, where’s the debate coming from? Well, many folks on social media and beyond criticized Beyonce for saying that Jay-Z taught her how to be a woman. “Why did your man teach you instead of your own mother?” was a popular reaction to this. Still, many came to the Texas native’s defense, including City Girl Yung Miami. “Because your MAN brings out the best in you,” she commented under Instagram coverage of the clip. “They teach you things that you didn’t know about yourself, especially when they’re older!”

Yung Miami Defends Beyonce’s Thankfulness To Jay-Z

Of course, it’s unlikely that either superstar will respond to this discussion, but it’s still raging on via sites like Twitter (now X). A big aspect of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s relationship to many in this context is their age difference (about 11 years), which a lot of people don’t look fondly on. Still, plenty of others said that this is too out of context, and that it’s normal for any partner to feel like more like themselves when taking care of their other half. Also, it’s not like they do everything together, and have kept their professional careers somewhat detached from their personal life as a couple.

Twitter Reacts To This 2006 Clip

With all this in mind, do you think Yung Miami was right to defend the RENAISSANCE icon? Conversely, is this something that downplays the impact of women in her life? Let us know what you think in the comments down below. For more news and the latest updates on Beyonce and Jay-Z, check back in with HNHH.
