Drake Fans Label J Cole A Traitor Over ASAP Rocky Collab

The great rap beef of 2024 continues, as two MCs previously from opposing sides have now complicated the situation for Drake fans. Moreover, A$AP Rocky tapped J Cole for “Ruby Rosary,” a new Alchemist-produced single from his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb. Thanks to the Harlem creative’s possible shots at the 6ix God, a lot of OVO Stans are not happy with the Dreamville boss clearing a collaboration with one of Drizzy’s many opponents this year. Earlier this year, just days after bowing out of the battle, Cole also appeared on Future and Metro Boomin’s WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU.

As such, a lot of people are looking at J. Cole sideways, wondering why he would work with these people and whether or not he feels differently about Drake now. After all, it was probably their “First Person Shooter” collaboration that set a lot of this beef in motion, at least on Kendrick Lamar’s end. But the most likely scenario is that despite Rocky’s disses towards The Boy, Cole probably has the same love for everyone involved. He’s never been one to be overtly confrontational beyond being competitive, and we can’t imagine that he would let loyalties determine who he will make art with.

ASAP Rocky & J Cole’s “Ruby Rosary”: Stream

Sure, this doesn’t explain everything about these lyricists’ roles in all this, but we doubt that J. Cole is really “picking a side” here. Also, we have to consider that Drake recently reminisced on this friendship with Cole via his “100 GIGS” content drop, sharing a classic video of them buying Born Sinner CDs upon its release at a Best Buy. However, we don’t know if this nostalgia is for a broken friendship or just for simpler times, so maybe it doesn’t affirm their bond in the way we might assume. Regardless, check out more reactions to “Ruby Rosary” and this perceived betrayal down below.

OVO Fans And Other Listeners React To “Ruby Rosary”

Meanwhile, as Drake seeks a “Game 2,” perhaps he will more directly attack A$AP Rocky, J Cole, Future, and his other opps. We might even see him to at Kendrick Lamar again, but that’s still a mystery and an unlikely scenario until proven otherwise. “No Face” suggests that the Toronto superstar will pick the former approach against his former colleagues. Maybe then Cole will fully commit to battling his other “Big Three” partner or walk away from another chance to play in the mud.

ASAP Rocky Sparks Drake Diss Speculation Thanks To New J Cole Collab

ASAP Rocky and J Cole just gave rap fans a truly special collaboration on “Ruby Rosary,” the Alchemist-produced latest single from the former’s upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb. It’s one of the most ethereal beats you’ll hear all week, bolstered by a gorgeous bed of pianos, eerie chime embellishments, and a laidback and watery drum pattern. In addition, both MCs spit some very impressive verses, with the Harlem creative flexing despondently through his material possessions. While Cole makes this desperation and struggle even more explicit with his bars, most people are looking at Rocky’s rhymes first and foremost. But it’s for a very different reason.

As you might have already guessed, fans immediately combed through “Ruby Rosary” to see if A$AP Rocky had any words for Drake. Here’s what most people are talking about the most when it comes to their beef: “You a dead man walking, like you barely alive / Cut everything but the family ties / Cut the s**t, cut the lies, word to the wise / Who in your top five? Haha (F**k your top five) / I don’t get fresh to death, b***h, I’m buried alive / I heard dawg talkin’ funny, like it’s Family Guy.” Also, there are possible references to “Push Ups” in addition to these potential allusions to the “Buried Alive” interlude off of Take Care, a Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem collaboration, Drizzy’s “Family Matters” diss, and much more.

ASAP Rocky’s “Ruby Rosary” With J Cole: Stream

Of course, this is all very speculative, especially since A$AP Rocky dismissed the Drake beef in a recent Billboard interview. “You got to realize, certain n***as was throwing shots for years,” he shared. “I ain’t in the middle of that s**t. That’s not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some p***y boys. It is real beef outside. It is real. N***as getting really clipped and blitzed every day. N***as sniping n***as every day. That little kitty s**t ain’t about nothing.”

Meanwhile, Drake is itching for a “Game 2,” and it’s unclear what this looks like in his mind. Maybe he’ll go straight at Kendrick Lamar, or maybe he will focus on all his other opponents. That definitely seemed to be the case with “No Face,” so perhaps the Toronto superstar and ASAP Rocky will actually have more shots to trade. But hopefully fans realize that there’s much more to “Ruby Rosary” than just some petty lines, and that the same will be true for Don’t Be Dumb.

Quavo And Offset Squash Their Beef Following Rich Homie Quan’s Death

Things have been contentious between the living members of Migos. Quavo and Offset had a falling out before the death of third member Takeoff, and their relationship has not improved since. There has been the occasional birthday post, but by and large, the two men do not speak. It appears as though the death of Rich Homie Quan has changed that. The rapper passed at age 34 on September 5, rocking the music world to its core. Quavo posted a tribute to Quan, but more importantly, he took steps to repair things with his brother.

Quavo took to his Instagram Stories to deliver the good news. He posted the Quavo and Takeoff song “Nothing Changed” on his Story, along with the text: “Good convo with my bro.” He even tagged Offset, making it clear that the two men were on the same page. The comment section was flooded with happy fans. Some lamented that it took the passing of a close friend to bring Quavo and Offset together. “They should have did this before Rich Homie died,” one user wrote. Most of the commenters were happy that steps were being taken at all. “Good,” another user wrote. “We need y’all. We done already lost too much of our childhood.”

Quavo Confirmed He Had A Good Convo With Offset

Quavo and Offset have talked about each other in interviews. There’s generally a sense of frustration underpinning their answers, though. Offset made it clear that he didn’t care about fan speculation during his appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game. “I don’t feel like I owe it to people to show how much me and bro love each other,” the rapper stated. “We went through something. We don’t have to show you n**gas smiles and faces, so stop doing that.”

Quavo has also taken digs at the rocky public relationship between Offset and Cardi B. He took to Twitter in December to make it clear that he wasn’t condoning the airing out of personal information that Offset was participating in. “Nephew ain’t with the soap opera,” Quavo tweeted. “Long live rocket. Pray for y’all though.” The tension seemed to dissipate slightly in April, when Offset wished Quavo a happy birthday on Instagram. “Happy gday my brother @quavohuncho love you 4L,” he wrote. It’s unclear how much Rich Homie Quan’s death sped up the process, but it looks like the Migos rappers are finally ready to bury the hatchet.

Ralo Is Still Demanding A Conversation With Boosie Badazz Amid Their Beef

Ralo and Boosie Badazz are apparently still going at it, and what was once a misunderstanding might turn legitimately contentious. Moreover, for those unaware, the former angered the latter when he said that he doesn’t want to be rapping in his 40s or 50s like Badazz is. The Atlanta rapper didn’t really mean this as a diss, though; just that he has different priorities in mind for when he reaches his Baton Rouge rhyming colleague’s age. After trying to explain himself while responding to Boosie’s attacks, he followed this up with an Instagram message on Thursday (September 5) doubling down on his demands for a sit-down.

“You think you just gone go up on me while im in prison can’t fight for myself and when i get out I wasn’t gone say s**t,” Ralo wrote to Boosie. “Man you crazy as hell you gotta give me ah fade or sum (BOXING MATCH) and I ain’t talkin about that mf haircut. You let n***as pull up and turn you against me, but when I try to pull up and show my part you dodging me. Like what the hell part of the game that is bruh???

Ima delete everything I said off my page for the people, but that conversation is needed fam…”

Meanwhile, here’s part of Boosie’s rants against Ralo. “#xnephew U LOOKING FOR CLOUT IM LOOKING FOR BAGZ OF MONEY N SUCCESS!!” he tweeted. “YOUR MIND HAS NOT ELEVATED AT ALL BRO FROM BEING N PRISON. Blueface’s Mom Calls Cap On His Father’s Birthday Party For Chrisean Jr.

The family drama is heating up between Blueface and Chrisean Rock’s loved ones – or should we say, among them. Moreover, the issue this time around is between two of the former’s kin: his mother and his father. Karlissa Saffold was one of many who reacted incredulously on social media after Jonathan Porter posted about his birthday party for his grandson Chrisean Jr. This comes after plenty of controversial moments in which Porter made it clear that he didn’t want anything to do with the little one. Via the comments of a Shade Room Instagram post covering this, Saffold agreed that her ex was just trying to get more clout now.

“No he doesn’t have the baby and no he’s not with CPS,” Blueface’s mother claimed concerning Jonathan Porter and his birthday party for Chrisean Jr. “His mom will be home soon and his father hopefully right behind her. Happy birthday JR and thank you to [Chrisean Rock’s] family for taking him and not exploiting him on his first birthday. I’m sure his mom will have a big celebration for him when she gets home.”

“I tried to tell him the house is possessed. I pray Junior never has to go to that house again. Now didn’t I say the house was haunted last year before he moved in? Lord have mercy look at this boy daddy. From nail polish to a birthday party for only one of his 4 grandchildren in an empty house. Not the parents or the children. Now he possessed alone in this house. Happy birthday JR hope you never experience this type of weirdo s**t.

Dame Dash Challenges 50 Cent To “CEO War” Involving Their TV Networks

Dame Dash is a mogul. He’s never pitched himself as a rapper, as evidenced by the song “I Am Dame Dash” where he raps about not being able to rap. We digress. Dash is someone who flexes on ops with business. This is why he decided to challenge 50 Cent on the business front. The former Roc-A-Fella boss told 50 to put his money where his mouth is, with regards to his TV network. He went as far as to say that his network would outperform 50’s in direct competition.

You might be asking why. As with most feuds involving 50 Cent, 50 Cent started it. The rapper claimed that Dame Dash “has no money now” during an episode of the Million Dollarz Worth of Game podcast. Dash caught wind of this, and decided to clap back on Instagram. “Somebody definitely sent me that cute sh*t 50 said about me not having no money,” Dash confirmed. “I feel like now me and 50 should have a battle, and no gangster sh*t…. That would be whack and corny for the culture.” The alternative Dame Dash proposed was a “CEO War.”

Dame Dash Tried To Get 50 To Buy Roc-A-Fella Shares

Dash wants to see which hip hop businessman has their pulse on the culture. “He’s in the television network business now,” he asserted. “Let’s do CEO War… “I’m going to drop my network. And what I’m going to do is also drop a new original American movie.” Dash then urged 50 Cent to drop a movie on his network, so the two could directly compete. The businessman didn’t stop there. He used the opportunity to goad 50 into purchasing the 33% stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. Dame Dash has been ordered to sell off his share of the legendary label, but has been unable to find a buyer that suits his price range.

Dame Dash decided to try and kill two birds with one stone when it came to challenging 50 Cent. “Where you at? It’s still for sale,” Dash explained. “The starting price was 1.2. Now it’s 3 million. And if you got it like you say it, buy it. I challenge you.” Given how much trouble Dash has had selling off his 33%, we can’t blame him. That said, 50 Cent has enough going on to not have to worry about beef with Dame Dash.

Adam22 Clowns Joe Budden’s Rap Career In No Jumper Cypher: Watch

Adam22 is a podcaster by trade and a clout chaser by instinct. He knows what will generate views, and has been immensely successful at doing so. His approach has garnered criticism from other huge names in the rap podcast space, however. Joe Budden being chief among them. Adam22 and Budden do not get along, and the former decided to address their tension during the new No Jumper Cypher. Not only does Adam poke fun at Budden’s podcasting career, but he tears down his rap achievements as well.

It’s worth noting that Adam22 raps part of his “verse” with a flower beanie on his head. This is not to be taken seriously, and everybody involved knows it. Still, the podcaster gets his shots off. “Pump It Up the last time I heard Joe rap,” Adam22 spits. “That old a*s throwback finally got its Gold plaque… yall is only podcasting cause you got no other option.” He also throws in a dig about his podcasting ops being bums and “unable to eat at Sizzler.” Again, not a wordsmith by any means. Adam22 put out the verse knowing it would elicit attention from the hip hop community. And sure enough, it did.

Joe Budden Responded To Adam22’s Bars With Laughter

Joe Budden responded to the No Jumper Cypher shortly after its release. He took it about as well as one could, which is to say, he laughed it off. “Lol… Adam aside, it’s tough out here for a lot of folks,” he wrote. “Do everything you can.” Budden’s comments align with previous criticisms that he’s made about Adam and his approach to the culture as a whole. Budden feels as though Adam22 exploits hip hop for his own benefit without paying mind to the young artists he exploits. We’d list out the conflicts that the two men have had over the years, but we’d be need about 10,000 more words. It seems like they get on each other’s nerves every few months.

In May, Joe Budden claimed that he would wipe the floor with Adam22 in a fist fight. He didn’t try to be cute with his answer, either. He straight up told his co-hosts that he would demolish the other podcast titan. “I’d beat the dog sh*t out of Adam,” Budden stated. “I don’t even know if he has a dog. He would be tattoo-less.” Adam’s cypher is just the latest instance of shots being fired. It isn’t the first time, and it sure won’t be the last.

Star Boy Refuses To Clear Samples For Destroy Lonely And Kanye West Collabs

Star Boy may not be a household name, but the producer is on the rise. He’s worked with several notable artists this decade, including Ken Carson and Lil Uzi Vert. His production style is so enticing that massive names like Destroy Lonely and Kanye West have reportedly booked sessions with him. Unfortunately, for both artists, Star Boy has decided to draw a line in the sand. The producer announced that he will not be clearing the sample for his anticipated Destroy Lonely collab “Holding It Down.”

Destroy Lonely previewed “Holding It Down” back in May. The rapper told fans that he wanted to put it on the second version of his new album, Love Lasts Forever. The second version is now available on the rapper’s personal site, but the song is nowhere to be found. Lonely even took to Twitter to explain why the song was omitted. “‘Holding It Down’ going on streaming,” he explained. “We waiting on Star Boy to clear the track blow him up.” The plea for fan assistance didn’t pan out, though. Star Boy went on IG and stated, definitively, that he wasn’t clearing anything. “I ain’t clearing sh*t,” he wrote.

Star Boy Refuses To Clear ‘Ungodly’ Song Lyrics

Fans were confused by the harshness of Star Boy’s words. There was some confusion as to whether there was beef between the producer and Destroy Lonely, or whether the two men had a falling out after recording the song. Apparently, Star Boy had a change of heart. He posted a follow up on Instagram, and explained that he will not be clearing songs he considers to be against his beliefs. “Not clearing anything ungodly,” he wrote. “For no amount of money.” Kanye West then caught a stray, when Star Boy said the same rules applied to him. “I ain’t clear @Ye sh*t either,” he added. “No one getting swag.”

Star Boy’s sudden line in the sand is surprising, given his production history. He’s lent his talents to songs with plenty of “ungodly” messages in the past. He has multiple credits on Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red, as well as Ken Carson’s A Great Chaos. Star Boy has also worked with artists who have done and said controversial things in the past, like West and DaBaby. Regardless of the reasoning, it appears as though Destroy Lonely fans are going to deprived of “Holding It Down” for the near future.

Joe Budden Defends Ice Spice Amid Cleotrapa Drama And Says Fans Are Clueless On How Touring Works

Joe Budden says the accusations Cleotrapa made against Ice Spice are fairly common in the music industry and the internet doesn’t know how touring works. Cleo claimed Ice Spice and her team mistreated her on the Y2K! World Tour. She shared stories of having to use bathrooms as dressing rooms, not being afforded food, and more.

Budden began by arguing that Ice Spice isn’t calling any of the shots on her tour. “She don’t have no say over nothing,” he said. “She has not sold enough records to be in this position and on tour, every single dollar is accounted for months before we went on tour. I know exactly how much each of these rooms are gonna cost. I know exactly how much the gas is gonna cost. We can’t afford another bus but we got another bus. Okay let’s bring some other people, but those people are for free. There’s no budget. Every single dollar is accounted for.”

Budden’s comments echoed those of Spice’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., who argued that Cleo’s team should’ve set more realistic expectations for what the tour would be like. “If another bigger artist hit my client & say come on tour w/ her or him w/one day to prepared. As the manager I would advise my client this is risky, I would then connect w/ the other artist’s mgmt & agent immediately to advance logistics to see if it makes sense. To avoid hiccups,” he wrote in one of many posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.

Cardi B Furious With Fans Comparing Her And Star Brim To Ice Spice And Cleotrapa

Cardi B called out people on social media on Wednesday for comparing her friendship with Star Brim to Ice Spice and Cleotrapa. In the wake of Cleo coming forward with allegations of mistreatment on the Y2K! World Tour, fans theorized Cardi has a similar dynamic with Star Brim.

“Don’t compare my friendships, my situation to anybody’s sh*t,” she said. “That’s one. All of my friendships, even with the people I work with, are five-year plus. I don’t know why y’all see me – a light-skin girl with a brown-skin, dark-skin girl – y’all wanna compare what I have with my friends with somebody else’s sh*t. Don’t do that! Because we don’t do that.” She went on to explained that she doesn’t trust many people, but Star Brim is one of them. The two have been friends since 2016.

Spice addressed Cleo’s claims during X (formerly Twitter) Spaces on Monday night. “Crashing out is sad you guys,” she said at the time. “The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it … That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.”
