DJ Akademiks Claims Drake & Future Haven’t Actually Squashed Their Beef

During a recent episode of The Bigger Picture, Elliott Wilson claimed that Drake and Future have managed to squash their beef. According to him, this was partially thanks to a Tweet from Young Thug’s account that went viral last month. “.@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” it read. Shortly after it was posted, Future retweeted it, indicating that he might be on board to reconcile.

“I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” Wilson said. “I think that helped the energy when Future reposted [Young Thug’s Tweet].” He went on to claim that Drake still has issues with Metro Boomin, and that Future and Drake’s reconciliation shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

Akademiks Calls Elliott Wilson’s Drake & Future Reconciliation Claim “100% Cap”

https://twitter.com/itsavibe/status/1852759164822372582

According to DJ Akademiks, however, this might not actually be the case. During a recent stream, he revealed that his sources say Drake and Future haven’t gotten on the phone at all. “I have spoken to extremely credible sources on both sides,” he explained. “And Drake and Future have not been on the phone. So not too sure who gave Elliott Wilson the authority to say this, but from what I hear that is not true, that is 100% cap.”

“Just letting you know that while this sounded great, and that all the media outlets have reprinted it, there’s a reason Drake hasn’t commented and Future hasn’t commented. Cuz it ain’t true, okay? Doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. That doesn’t mean I don’t personally want it to happen, and I think every fan does want it to happen. But from what I’m hearing at this moment, that reconciliation has not completely occurred if it’s gonna occur.” What do you think of DJ Akademiks claiming that Drake and Future haven’t actually squashed their beef? Elliott Wilson Reveals Drake & Future Have Officially Settled Their Differences

Last month, Young Thug’s official X account shared an interesting message, prompting big reactions among fans. “.@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” the post read. Within hours, Future appeared to co-sign the message by retweeting it, leaving social media users in shambles.

Of course, Drake’s been at the center of plenty of beef in recent months, which was ignited by Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You collab with Kendrick Lamar, “Like That.” Future’s retweet was the first glimmer of hope fans saw that he and Drake could actually potentially reconcile. This sparked a debate about whether or not they should, and most agreed that they’d love to hear them team up again.

Elliott Wilson Discusses Drake & Future’s Reconciliation

Fortunately, it looks like that may not be off the table. During a recent episode of The Bigger Picture, Elliott Wilson revealed that Drake and Future have finally been able to work out their differences over the phone. “I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” he stated. Wilson also suggested that the reconciliation could have something to do with Young Thug’s aforementioned Tweet and that Drake has yet to make amends with Metro Boomin.

“I think that helped the energy when Future reposted [Young Thug’s Tweet],” he explained. “There’s no trust there still with Metro, but I do believe that Drake and Future are back on the same page.” Wilson went on to note that the reconciliation doesn’t come as too much of a surprise considering the rappers’ history. “Obviously we know that Drake and Future have so much history. Drake was the one saying, ‘We never really went through it.’ [Future] got the lightest of all the taps in the one v. 20, so it makes sense in some capacity,” he concluded. What do you think of Elliott Wilson claiming that Drake and Future have settled their differences? Do you hope this means they’ll work together sometime soon? Benzino and Eminem’s beef goes way back, but amid some exciting new developments in the latter’s personal life, it looks like it could be over for good. During a recent interview with TMZ Hip Hop, Benzino shared that he wants to put the past behind him. To prove it, he even revealed that he congratulated Em after he learned he was going to be a grandfather.

“At 59 years old enough is enough like come on man. Like, listen you know I have four children. I’m not a grandfather yet. The irony is that he did say nobody wanted to hear their grandpa rap on [‘Nail in the Coffin’],” The Source icon explained. “After all these years I’m saying man wouldn’t it be something if he was a grandfather before me? I swear I used to think that.”

LUCKI & Playboi Carti Appear To Bury The Hatchet With Vague IG Story Post

Playboi Carti took some words from LUCKI to heart a couple of weeks ago, leading to the two MCs to trade some shots. The Opium label boss had an issue with the Chicago, Illinois native buying a chain and saying, “crosses up”. He viewed that as a sneak diss toward his “ALL RED” track where he raps, “Upside-down cross tat’ on my neck, shut ’em up, uh, uh“. LUCKI attempted to clarify what he meant in a short video, saying, “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you. You think, yesterday, because I bought a chain and I said, ‘crosses up,’ that I was sneak dissing you”.

He later added, “I just bought a chain and was saying, ‘crosses up.’ You just insecure because you don’t love Jesus like that”. LUCKI then shared an older picture of Carti with a t-shirt that said “I [heart] Jesus” on it. A few days later, the “Timeless” MC would subtly fire back on IG, “Should’ve signed to the O. I ain’t worried bout nobody, n****s can talk, say whatever they wanna say about me”.

Lucki Seems To Be The One Who Made The Call

Now, though, there is another vague social media post from LUCKI, although it appears to be showing signs of positivity. According to Kurrco, the GEMINI! creator posted a screenshot of a recently completed phone call with “Barti” to his second account’s IG Story. We can only assume that it was between him and Carti and that they discussed the public feud. Overall, it seems like things are all good now given that there’s a “❤” emoji over the screenshot. It is good to see that they reconciled, even if it was just a misunderstanding, ultimately.

What are your thoughts on LUCKI and Playboi Carti appearing to settle their differences? Do you think this beef was just a big misunderstanding? Could you see these two making some music together soon? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Rick Ross & Trick Trick Settle Their Beef Onstage

While many Rick Ross and Drake fans think they won’t reconcile, some have hope thanks to the former’s recent actions. For those unaware, Rozay and Detroit rapper Trick Trick have had beef since around 2014, when Ross was allegedly banned from performing at Summer Jamz in the city. He allegedly feared for his life per HipHopDX due to the 100-person blockade that Trick led to stop him from performing, which also allegedly included a no fly zone thanks to his alleged disrespect of the city. But that’s all over now. Moreover, the two squashed their beef with the help of Death Row Records cofounder Michael “Harry O” Harris.

Furthermore, Harry O organized the Community First Action concert in Pontiac, Michigan on Tuesday (September 17). He introduced the two and they embraced onstage before Rick Ross performed his 2010 track “I’m Not A Star.” While this is very heartening to see, we know that he’s dealing with a lot of other beefs right now, ones that he might have to try really hard to squash if he wants to. One of these is with Ross’ ex Tia Kemp, who recently accused him of ordering hits out on people.

Rick Ross & Trick Trick Squash Their Beef

Nevertheless, here’s what Rick Ross had to say about burying the hatchet with Trick Trick on Instagram. “I want to take time out and salute the ones really making a difference in the community,” he shared. “The big homie Harry O, what you doing with Community First, I love it. You flying me out last night, you having Trick Trick bring me out on stage. I’m sure everybody knows me and Trick Trick had our differences for over a decade and here we are just moving forward, doing big things in the community. We got some more big things coming.”

Rozay Speaks

Meanwhile, speaking of feuds, here’s what Rick Ross said about his scuffle with OVO fans earlier this year. “We got our paper, we got to the jet and, as a matter of fact, we went and had some Wingstop, so that was light work,” he told Yung Miami on Caresha Please. “I ain’t even tripping ’cause like, I told them, ‘Y’all n***as did that like a G. Everybody got to the crib. That’s what it’s about.’ […] We had a conversation. ‘Let’s get back to the money.’ All my homies that usually travel with me, them the n***as that was upset. They was more upset than us.”

JT & Saucy Santana Make Up After Nasty Twitter Spat

The City Girls’ camp has been subject to a whole lot of unexpected and Earth-shattering drama for the past few days. Moreover, this all culminated in a spat between group members Yung Miami and JT on social media, which has fortunately since resolved and has now set the precedent for how other feuds could culminate between their associates moving forward. For example, the latter of the Florida rappers also caught some strays from Saucy Santana, who questioned why he’s always felt slighted by her. After a brief back-and-forth, the two frequent collaborators seem to have made up, per one of Santana’s last tweets at press time.

“If I’m ever mad I have a reason to be behind close doors you have done stuff to me that you think I should just get over!” JT began on Twitter. “You never come to my defense when I would’ve literally took a bullet for you!” “BINGO!!!!” Saucy Santana quote-tweeted. “The last sentence is the problem. This what it ALWAYS been! How much have I bigged u up!!! Had your back! Been w/ u thru highs & lows! Always congratulated! Boosted confidence & egos! U know the real so why it’s always shade for me?! One minute you love me. Next minute I’m ‘Caresha friend.’

Saucy Santana Questions The City Girl’s Shade

“Never did NOTHING Ill to you, @ThegirlJT,” Saucy Santana continued. “Somehow I always ended up on the receiving of the shade. From the live when u first got out when then followed Blocc Boy JB calling me a f***ot and u sat dea! Snatching mics at rollong loud, calling me your ‘favorite opp’ on your bday. What have I ever done to you?! Besides be a FRIEND.” “Your career started from being disrespected on live!” JT clapped back. “You really tryna play me as a homophobe? Wow! To be fair i didn’t know how to work like I had just got out & rolling loud got time limits I GAVE you my mic to begin with…. WHOA! SMH baby don’t do this to me!

JT Responds, Santana Clarifies That It’s All Good Now

Then, Santana reposted an old video of the two at a club embracing, and captioned it with: “How the story ENDS! We talked! [heart emoji] Moving forward!” Not only that, but it seems like the City Girls MC’s feud with GloRilla might reach a similar conclusion, as it seems like neither side is really taking it all that seriously. Kid Cudi & Lupe Fiasco Finally Squash Their Beef

After opening up about his beef with Lupe Fiasco during a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Kid Cudi took to Twitter to express interest in making amends. He even offered Lupe an apology, urging the performer to “find it in [his] heart” to move past their differences. At first, Lupe seemed open to the idea, coming through with a brief yet promising reply to the apology. “All I needed,” he wrote.

After that, however, Lupe made it clear that he wasn’t actually over it, calling Cudi a “b*tch” on Twitter. “You will always be a b*tch to me,” he said. “I just want to hear that apology from your mouth then you can kick rocks.” Luckily, their conversation appears to have gone better than expected. Kid Cudi announced today that they actually had a “great talk” and were able to put the past behind them.

Chaka Khan Apologizes To Kanye West For “Silly Grudge” Over Sped-Up Vocal Sample

Chaka Khan just got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a deserving accolade for such a superstar. Thus, she reflected on her career highlights, personal experiences, and so much more during a recent interview with Rolling Stone. What will probably prove to be of most interest to hip-hop fans is the singer’s assessment of her relationship with Kanye West. For those unaware, he sampled her track “Through The Fire” on his first-ever single “Through The Wire,” something that she critiqued for many years since. Now, though, it seems like it’s all water under the bridge.

“To clarify something, the reason you were annoyed with Kanye West about ‘Through the Wire’ is that he asked to use your sampled voice, but didn’t make it clear that it’d be sped up, right?” the publication asked. “Yeah. And you know, that was my fault, too, for feeling salty about that in any way,” Chaka Khan responded. “Because if I understood the rap game more completely, like I do now, then that wouldn’t have been a big deal to me. No, I’m done [having it bother me]. Please. I’m not hanging on to any silly grudges.”

Kanye West & Chaka Khan Perform “Through The Wire” In 2004: Watch

Of course, Kanye West is no stranger to sampling issues, whether from an artistic standpoint or actually clearing it. Most recently, that’s what’s happening with his song “Everybody” off his yet-to-be-released collab album with Ty Dolla $ign, Vultures. The song samples The Backstreet Boys, and it looks like the publishers in charge of the sampled record refuse to give the rights over as of writing this article. It’s just one of many ways in which this album rollout turned chaotic. We still doubt it will ever see the light of day.

Meanwhile, Ye isn’t just receiving apologies from a legend; he’s also giving them. Everyone has a different take on his apology in Hebrew to the Jewish community for his antisemitic remarks. While some are forgiving and others don’t buy it for a millisecond, at least it’s better than complete silence. Lil Durk Calls Out NBA YoungBoy Over His Address, YounBoy Clears Things Up

The ongoing NBA YoungBoy and Lil Durk beef may not be what most people have made it out to be. Recently, Gillie Da Kid went on his podcast, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, and talked about how he wanted to see both rappers become civil. How he wants to go about it, is seeing them perform at Gillie Fest. According to the clip from his show, provided by HipHopDX, Gillie said this. He goes, “If both of them could hit the stage in the same night, it could show the young’uns that that s*** ain’t that serious. The beef ain’t that serious. None of this drama is that serious.”

NBA said he was more than down to do it, even with his house arrest going on. “Get them to let me out this house and I hit that stage for ya.” However, somehow, some people seemed to think the beef was reinstated after Lil Durk said he was lying about his house address in an Instagram Story. But, due to NBA’s rules regarding his arrest, he is not able to give out his information. He explained this in an IG Story.

Cam’ron Credits Gillie Da Kid & Wallo For Squashing Mase Beef, Dame Dash Weighs In

During a recent episode of It Is What It Is, Cam’ron chatted with Gillia Da Kid and Wallo about his past beef with Cam’ron. The duo have known each other since they were kids, and slowly started to part ways after forming Children of the Corn together. Cam’ron later accused Mase of being a “fraud,” and they went on to feud publicly before making up years later. According to Mase, money drove a wedge between them, as Cam thought he was refusing to share cash that he didn’t actually have.

Cam’ron explained that Gillie Da Kid and Wallo played a major role in their reunion, and took the opportunity to thank them. “Thank you guys also for helping connect me and Mase, and putting this sh*t together for us,” he said. “To be honest with you, and we talked about this on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, we may not even still be speaking right now without you guys’ platform.”

Dame Dash also spoke on their reunion during a recent interview, revealing that he feels as though it’s what they both deserve.

“You know how happy that makes me? You know I used to manage them?” he began. “To see this and them realize their potential, I always wanted them in front of cameras.” Dame Dash went on, continuing to praise their friendship. “I’m just saying that they happy and that they finally gained the credit they deserve and it had to happen.”
