Tory Lanez Denied Bail Amid Appeal In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Incident

The court denied Tory Lanez his motion for bail in his case for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, bringing an end to his legal team’s efforts. Now, as originally set out in the Canadian artist’s sentence, he will continue his appeal process while serving his ten-year prison sentence from behind bars. Said news comes via reporter Meghann Cuniff, who provided constant updates on this trial during most of its time in the public eye. Moreover, the motion maintained that Lanez “does not pose a danger to the community” and that the attack was “an isolated incident.” His legal team sought to secure his release within Los Angeles to continue working for his family.

However, this attempt was likely not ever going to pan out, according to entertainment attorney Michael Freedman, who spoke to Cuniff on Wednesday. As such, this news isn’t too surprising, although it does make Tory Lanez’s situation much more difficult. Of course, there’s still the possibility that he will undergo a successful appeal process. While things aren’t over for the Alone At Prom star, he still has a lot of accountability to take and reckon with.

Tory Lanez Will Continue His Appeal From Behind Bars

Unfortunately, Tory Lanez’s prison time already made him miss out on a tragic event in his life. His friend Alexa, the inspiration for the aforementioned album, passed away, and he took to Instagram to honor her memory. “ALEXA … a close friend to me and so many,” the 31-year-old wrote. “A beautiful soul, and the muse that revolutionized Alone At Prom. We laughed, we worked, we partied, and shared many deep conversations and moments together. I should have been there to stop this from happening.

“It hurts more that I was not able to say my final goodbyes at your Ceremony of Life,” he concluded. “But I Promise to make your legacy live on. You meant so much to so many of us. May your imprint be stamped on the world forever as you Rest in Paradise. S.I.P The Lady of Namek.” For more news and the latest updates on Tory Lanez, stay posted on HNHH.

Tory Lanez Reportedly Married Now According To Bail Motion

Tory Lanez is currently in the middle of his appeal and bail process, which so far revealed some very interesting and surprising information. However, this specific new development has little to do with his crimes, and more with his personal life and growth. Moreover, reporter Meghann Cuniff recently released the full bail motion from the Canadian artist’s legal team. It states that his fiancée, Raina Chassagne, with whom he shares a six-year-old child, is now his wife. Furthermore, this relationship seemingly developed quickly, as Cuniff explained in the tweet containing a screenshot of the legal document.

“From his sentencing hearing engagement announcement to his bail motion wedding announcement, Tory Lanez’s relationship status has advanced rapidly in the last few weeks,” Meghann Cuniff remarked. “His fiancée is now his wife, according to the motion.” Specifically, this move mentioned the wedding in relation to Daystar Peterson being unlikely to flee or go off the map is he gets bail. Even though it’s a hard time, it’s at least a silver lining for Lanez amid a lot of struggle. Despite his actions and attitude, it’s always important for people to have someone there to help them.

Tory Lanez’s Bail Motion

“Mr. Peterson continues to have strong ties to the community, as shown through testimony at his sentencing hearing within this honorable court on August 7th and 8th, 2023,” Tory Lanez’s bail motion read. “If released, he would live locally in the Los Angeles area, with his wife, Raina Chassagne, and their child, aged 6 years-old. Upon receiving bail, Mr. Peterson’s wife and child will be relocating from Florida to Los Angeles, where the child will be regularly attending school. They will rent a home near Mr. Peterson’s father, step-mother, siblings, and their children.”

Meanwhile, it seems like Lanez’s legal team is still committed to getting him out of prison and shifting things as much in his favor as possible. It’s still a controversial situation, but one that’s mostly in retrospect now. It wouldn’t be surprising if that changes, but his sights are on the court system now, not Megan Thee Stallion or the culture. Tory Lanez Appeal Hearing Finally Scheduled

An appeal hearing for Tory Lanez has finally been scheduled. After a wave of negative press against the rapper’s lawyer, a formal appeal against his 10-year prison sentence has been set for September 5. Furthermore, the hearing will also determine whether Lanez will be freed on bail pending his appeal. Lanez was recently handed down a decade-long prison sentence after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The sentence was given despite a wave of letters supporting the Canadian musician. These letters came from the likes of Iggy Azalea, Mario, Stefflon Don, and Melli. Additionally, statements supporting the freeing of Lanez were made by the likes of Adin Ross and Capella Grey.

As mentioned, the appeal healing comes after a rough couple of weeks for Lanez’s lawyer. Jose Baez said he would be filing an appeal almost immediately after Lanez was sentenced. However, after two weeks, no appeal had emerged and Baez was seemingly vacationing in Italy. This led a lot of people to accuse the attorney of failing his client and not doing his job. Baez hit back at the reports, saying that he travels to Italy several times a year due to obligations to other clients. Furthermore, Baez said that the appeals process was being held up as they were waiting for official transcripts to be completed.

Will Tory Lanez Be Freed?

It’s hard to say definitively if Lanez will a) be granted an appeal and b) he will receive bail while that appeal is heard. Especially, in the case of the latter, it will all depend on how the court views Lanez. While many people wrote letters of support for him, many of them boiled down to “Tory is just a really great guy and I don’t think he should be in prison”. The court will also have to consider things such as Megan Thee Stallion’s official victim impact statement, which was read at his sentencing.

“I have been tormented and terrorized in every degree by the defendant,” she wrote. “He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma. He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul.” Furthermore, MTS said that she had not experienced a “single day of peace” since the shooting. It’s very powerful testimony and one that could definitely sway the judge. In particular, Lanez could be denied bail if it is deemed that he would be a danger to MTS or others if released pending his appeal. However, we won’t know for sure until September 5. This is a developing story and be sure to follow every update here at HotNewHipHop.

Tory Lanez’s Lawyer Updates His Appeal Process, Addresses His Italy Trip

Tory Lanez wants to move forward with his appeal process for his 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, but has some bumps in the road to go over first. For example, his attorney Jose Baez hadn’t filed the motion for this yet despite promises that he would do so promptly. Moreover, these reports came from Meghann Cuniff, the independent reporter who’s covered this case extensively and drawn the ire of Tory’s team as a result. In addition, she said that Baez was posting snaps from an Italy trip. The lawyer recently took to Instagram to comment on these reports and provide a status update on the post-sentence process for the Canadian artist.

“It has been brought to my attention that a blogger [Cuniff] has claimed that Tory Lanez is not a priority because I’m allegedly in Italy,” Baez wrote. “For the record I travel to Italy 2 to 4 times a year. I have both business interests as well as clients who have business in Italy. It is a beautiful country and a privilege to visit. This blogger has had a clear bias against Tory and has attacked everyone associated with him as well as made numerous inaccurate assumptions. In fairness to her, she has no legal training and has never worked in the court system [not true, by the way], so her opinions have little to no merit whatsoever.” In addition, he took a screenshot of an account that alleges that Cuniff “is a drunk.”

In another Story post, he actually updated people on Tory’s situation. “Finally to all of Tory’s fans,” Baez stated. “I can report that because his motion for a new trial covered many of the issues that will be appealed, we are way ahead of schedule. The court reporter has not completed all of the transcripts and until that happens he must wait to file the appeal. As for other motions Tory is evaluating ALL of his options. Thank you all, he appreciates your support.”

More Updates From Jose Baez

Meanwhile, it’s unclear whether Baez meant to refer to Meghann Cuniff as the “court reporter.” Either way, it sounds odd on the outside, but there’s probably a lot of legal processes that he’s simply abiding by. Regardless, the appeal process will move forward eventually, and the court’s decision might end this case for now. For more news and the latest updates on Tory Lanez, come back to HNHH.

Tory Lanez’s Attorney Hasn’t Filed Motion For His Bail As He Posts Snaps From Italy

The Tory Lanez case has been slowly dying down following his sentencing, and it looks like that’s the case even for his lawyers. Moreover, Meghann Cuniff, who’s been covering the case diligently, recently gave an update via Twitter on its status. She relayed that it’s been over two weeks since the Canadian artist’s attorney Jose Baez promised to file a motion for his bail amid conviction appeals and his sentence. As of writing this article, there’s no such motion on the floor. However, it seems like Baez isn’t too concerned, as he posted pictures on his social media of an Italy vacation.

In addition, Cuniff stated that Tory Lanez’s notice of appeal appeared in court filings on August 10. While the Court of Appeals’ website doesn’t yet reflect an open case, she predicted that it would come up soon. Also, she clarified that upon the filing of an opening brief, that will show significant movement, but that said outcome probably won’t happen for a couple more months. It sounds a bit confusing, but the gist (if we’re interpreting correctly) is that, despite a conviction and sentence, this case is far, far from over in the appeals and bail circuit.

Meghan Cuniff’s New Reports On Tory Lanez

Despite these remarks, Cuniff made it clear that this doesn’t mean that there won’t be a bail motion at all. Even if it takes a bit longer to do, due to the lawyer’s Italian trek or otherwise, it will be implemented in all likelihood. Still, the journalist also suggested that it’s very unlikely that Judge Herriford grants it, although she made space to acknowledge that things have gone left in Tory Lanez’s case before. As such, it seems like things are still a matter of time.

Meanwhile, a lot of recent discussion around this case surrounds letters of support that artists sent to the court, praising Lanez’s character. That caused a lot of controversy against these celebrities and others, especially with the guilty conviction in hindsight. With all this in mind, there will probably be a lot more to discuss around this divisive event in the future. On that note, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Tory Lanez.

50 Cent Is Skeptical Of Los Angeles’ New Zero-Bail Policy

50 Cent has always been one of the most outspoken artists from hip-hop, whether it’s about the genre, TV, business, politics, and much more. Just a week ago, he even commented on rival Ja Rule’s concert antics, where he came out in a stretcher and was “revived.” However, his most recent take online concerned his disapproval of a reinstated bail policy in Los Angeles concerning misdemeanor charges (not more serious crimes). Moreover, these crimes specifically include burglary, shoplifting, drug use, vandalism, and misdemeanor battery. Under the new law, offenders of these crimes will not be arrested in their detainment and will instead go through a normal court process.

In addition, the city will free currently incarcerated individuals who they arrested on these charges and other similar offenses. Of course, this is a big step in cutting unjust prison time for low-level offenders, especially in trial. Still, 50 Cent believes that this will end up being a negative thing for the L.A. community. He reposted a clip of Fox News covering the development on his Instagram page. “LA is finished watch how bad it gets out there SMH,” the multi-hyphenate star captioned the post.

Regardless of his thoughts, this caused a lot of debate among not just residents, but the nation at large. That being said, commenters rushed into 50 Cent’s section to explain why the coverage misleads viewers, breaking down the truth. “This is not what is actually happening,” one commenter clarified. “Anyone arrested will be detained and go through the system as per usual. They will see a judge and a court date will be given.

“In the past, the judge set a cash bail. If you could not afford it you stay in Jail until your court date,” they continued. “This was biased towards people from higher income classes cause they could actually afford bail. Now no one will who is arrested for low level non violent crime be forced to pay cash bail. [They] remain jailed until their court date. Everyone who commits these offenses will be able to stay home until their court date. Just like people with money used to be able to.” For more news and the latest updates on 50 Cent, stick around on HNHH.

Julia Fox Posts Brother’s $450K Bail After He’s Arrested For Having Guns, Narcotics

Her outrageous antics steal attention, but Julia Fox is sharing the spotlight with her brother. We previously reported on Christopher and Samuel Fox being detained by authorities in New York. Samuel, Julia’s father, was quickly released; however, Christopher, the actress’s brother, was charged with “criminal possession of controlled substance, manufacture of a machine gun, manufacture of a rapid fire modified device, manufacture of a dangerous instrument, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of drug paraphilia.”

Christopher was reportedly held on a $450K bond, and today (March 14), it was revealed his sister paid for his release. Ira Judelson, a bail bondsman, spoke with The Post about his interaction with Julia. “Of course, Ms. Fox seemed upset,” he said. “It is her brother.” When Christopher exited the courthouse, he jumped into an awaiting vehicle with his father. They reportedly took off without giving any comments to reporters.

Christopher Fox & The Ghost Gun Raid

ABC News 7 initially reported that the NYPD’s Ghost Gun Team has been investigating the actress’s brother for some time. Neighbors called the authorities to report mysterious packages being delivered to Christopher’s apartment. During a raid, police learned that he was allegedly creating ghost guns. Those firearms can be 3D printed, and they’re especially dangerous because they can’t be traced. There aren’t any serial numbers or traceable markings—but the guns and parts weren’t all that police found.Narcotics were also reportedly located.

Police reportedly found “pills, a pill press, pressure cookers, fentanyl, chloroform, heroin, propane, formaldehyde, and materials often used to make explosives.” Christopher Fox will return to court on May 4. Julia hasn’t spoken about her family’s controversy, but it was noted that in her bail receipt, she listed herself as an “actress/model.” However, she stated she was “retired.”

Julia Fox Has Been Candid About Her Past

On several occasions, Julia Fox has opened up about her past addictions. She’s struggled with substance abuse and even revealed she’d lost friends to overdoses. These days, Fox is sober living, at least to her liking. She doesn’t let jabs about her past drug use get to her, like those from Azealia Banks during their thumb-thugging internet war.

Takeoff Murder Suspect Patrick Clark Bond Paid By “Concerned Citizen”: Report

After multiple attempts to get out of jail, Patrick Clark has been released on bond. He is the chief suspect in the murder of Takeoff, and it was expected that Clark wouldn’t be able to make bail. Initially set at $2 million, the bond was later lowered to $1 million. Days ago, it was announced that Clark made bond and would find freedom once again, but questions were raised regarding who put up the bill.

A report by KTVU News also stated Clark’s attorney Letitia D. Quinones shared a statement regarding his release. “Neither Patrick nor his family posted the bond in this case,” she said.

“A concerned citizen and family friend who believes in Patrick’s innocence posted the bond on his behalf,” the lawyer continued. “Like any other defendant, Patrick is presumed to be innocent and has the right to bond. He also has an obligation to comply with all the terms the court has laid out.”

“He intends to comply fully and will appear for proceedings whenever the court requires him to do so. We believe Patrick is innocent and at the appropriate time, the evidence will reveal that to be the case.”

Meanwhile, some people questioned how this could occur when Clark’s team recently requested $5K from the court. They further claimed they needed the money to fund a private investigator for his defense.

Clark is reportedly scheduled to return for his arraignment hearing on March 9.

Takeoff’s Alleged Murderer Vows To Move In With Parents, Requests Lower Bail

The weeks that have passed since Takeoff’s death haven’t made the loss any easier to bear. Thankfully December began on a high note as police finally arrested someone in connection with the case.

33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark is the alleged gunman behind the youngest Migo’s death. As he awaits trial, he’s been given a hefty $2 million bail fee. His lawyer, Carl Moore, simply doesn’t think his client can pay that much.

According to TMZ, the accused murderer filed a motion on Monday (December 12) in Texas. The documents reveal that he’s seeking to have his bond significantly taken down to just $100K.

Clark says he’ll be able to pull these funds together with the help of a professional bondsman. Additionally, he’s promising to live with his parents upon release, where he was apparently previously residing.

Moore has assured the court that his client will wear a GPS monitor at all times. He’ll also be responsible for following a curfew from a judge – if his motion earns approval, that is. To ensure he doesn’t attempt to flee the country (again), Clark is willing to surrender his passport.

Another clause in the potential deal states that he’ll follow any “no contact” order that comes his way with respect to different people.

It remains unclear what the odds of Clark making bail currently are. Before being taken into custody, reports say that he was attempting to get an emergency passport. At the same time, Takeoff’s murder investigation was unfolding and his family was in mourning.

Just last week, a judge gave the DJ $5,000. The money will go toward a private investigator. At this time, Patrick seems eager to prove that he was framed. Many of those closest to him were in shock when news of the charges came out, reports say.
