Sukihana Joins Lil Kim Onstage: “This Is A Dream Come True”

During her recent performance at ONE Music Fest in Atlanta, Lil Kim invited a very special guest to join her onstage. “F*ck it, I’ma bring my sister out here on some freaky sh*t,” she declared, before Sukihana’s name was illuminated on the screen behind her. Suki then rose to the stage as the music for her iconic track “Eating” began. The crowd, of course, went wild.

Suki shared a clip of the momentous occasion on Instagram, noting how much the gesture meant to her. “@lilkimthequeenbee brought me outtttt,” she wrote excitedly. “This means so much to [bee emoji] my hard work is paying off. I am actually just getting started. So excited to show the world SUKIHANA. This is a dream come true for me.”

Fans love to see an established artist like Lil Kim showing love to rising stars like Suki, and are sounding off in her comments section. While the New York native had no problem supporting the “Grinch” performer, another acclaimed artist did. Khia recently unleashed on fans comparing her to current rappers like Suki and Sexyy Red, making it very clear that she feels as though they’re nothing alike.

There are only a few 21 Savage albums out, but they all are essential milestones in his career. The Atlanta-based rapper rose to the top through collabs with Metro Boomin, who helped define his signature dark sound. The rapper’s lyrics matched that tone and, along with his monotone delivery, truly painted a picture that resonated with many listeners. His debut album, Issa Album, whose name came from a meme, brought him success but was not his best-selling. That title belongs to i am > i was, the perfect summarization of his life up to that point. He showcases more variety in his production choices, flow, and subject matter across its 15 tracks. This album added depth to his music and laid the groundwork for the growth he would achieve as the years went on.

21 Savage Had Surprising Singles

Of all the 21 Savage albums so far, i am > i was is the only one to sell over one million units and be certified platinum by the RIAA. 21 Savage’s birthday has come and gone for another year, but as the rapper moves on to his next endeavours, the internet is still discovering exactly what unfolded at his party this year. As per usual, he and his crew linked up in Atlanta to celebrate and turn up, specifically selecting Underground as their venue for the evening. For the most part, it looks like the “Numb” hitmaker enjoyed his big day in good company, though there was at least one physical altercation that made the birthday boy’s Libra side really jump out.

In the video below, chaos erupts amid the giant crowd outside as music blares. Savage and his crew appear to confront another man who’s working security at the party, causing him to take on a fighting stance. Rather than immediately attack the group, he retreats. The verbal confrontation that follows suggests something far more serious might’ve taken place were the lyricist not by those with his best interest in mind.

21 Savage Tries to Keep the Peace in True Libra Fashion

Another clip from the same function shows a brutal moment during which one patron was stomped out by a group of men. As XXL reports, the same security guard from the first video breaks up the situation with pepper spray, immediately causing the crowd to break up. It’s unclear exactly what caused all the drama to unfold, but thankfully, it doesn’t seem as though anything more serious went down while the Her Loss hitmaker’s friends honoured him.

Despite his best efforts to keep things at his birthday as calm as possible, at least one fight still broke out amid 21 Savage’s celebration. Thankfully, he’s having such a huge month already that it’s unlikely one scuffle will turn that around. Gucci Mane Day Officially Declared In Atlanta

Yesterday, Gucci Mane released his new album Breath Of Fresh Air, his first new project of 2023. The 24-track album is stacked with material and a number of high profile collaborators show up. Lil Baby, Young Dolph, Key Glock, J. Cole, DaBaby, 21 Savage, Roddy Ricch, Nardo Wick, and Kodak Black are just a few of the artists who appear on the new album. It’s already racking up tens of millions of streams with some of its biggest collaborations and singles.

But that isn’t the only thing Gucci is celebrating this week. Alongside the release of the album he also got an official holiday named after him earlier this week. The city of Atlanta officially named October 17 as Gucci Mane day and shared the official proclamation to social media. In the comments fans reacted exactly how you’d expect them to, by cracking jokes. “Imagine saying ‘Happy Gucci Mane Day’” one fans commented accompanied by laughing emojis. “They just be declaring any rapper’s days bro I swear,” another laughs. Earlier today, Gucci Mane made waves online for a video of him shutting down a fan trying to rap for him during a media event. The video stuck out to so many people because Gucci is notorious for cosigning almost anyone. Thankfully, in the comments of the clip many stuck up for the rapper in the video and told him to continue grinding.

Prince Dre Recalls King Von’s Death: “I Was There”

During a recent interview with No Jumper, Prince Dre recalled the death of King Von. The Chicago-born rapper was involved in a shooutout in Atlanta in November of 2020, which resulted in his untimely passing. According to Prince Dre, he was around when the 26-year-old was shot, but wasn’t aware of how dire the situation was until later.

“I was around but I wasn’t right there though,” he explained when asked where he was when he heard the news. He also confirmed that he was in Atlanta the night of the shooutout. “I ain’t gon lie, I ain’t know folks got shot until all that sh*t was over with,” he continued. “Like later on.” When Adam 22 asked him where he was when the actual shooting took place, he claimed that he was there. “I was there,” he said. “I just wasn’t right right there.”

He elaborated, describing how he was “around” while not actually being at the exact location of the shooting. “It was a lot of people out there,” he recalled. “Basically, I heard it and I’m running into it, but I’m seeing everybody running. So I’m like, ‘damn, should I run to that sh*t?’ It was like some sh*t stopping me like, ‘hell no, you trippin’.’ So I’m just trying to see, pay attention to everything. Then when that sh*t was over with, everybody panicking and sh*t. They getting at ‘folks got hit.’ What?” he recalled thinking. “That’s how that sh*t was.”

Lul Tim, born Timothy Leeks, was arrested and charged with King Von’s murder in November of 2020. The Quando Rondo affiliate was then released on bail in 2021, and was preparing to go to trial. His charges were dropped in August of this year, however, after evidence surfaced appearing to show King Von assaulting Quando Rondo ahead of the shooting. Apparently, Drake faced groans when he tried to perform at encore in Atlanta. At least, according to a handful of folks on social media, so we advise that you take this with a grain of salt. One video that began circulating included Drake’s rendition of Ginuwine’s “So Anxious,” a song that he sampled on “Legend.” However, the TikToker who shared the video claimed that they were “waiting for Drake to sing at least one of his songs how he actually recorded them so I can sing along.”

As the clip began circulating on X (Twitter), other fans chimed in, as pointed out by TheNeighborhoodTalk. One fan claimed that they couldn’t “sit there for another motivational speech,” while another said that Drizzy similarly paused his show on numerous occasions to dive into “10 min monologues.” Despite Drake’s success, apparently, not everyone is willing to soak in the inspirational gems he’s provided across the It’s All A Blur tour. Drake Calls Atlanta “The Most Important Place In Rap Music” During Concert

Drake recently hit up Atlanta for his first of two shows in the city for his It’s All A Blur tour with ATL MC 21 S*vage. On Monday (September 25), he hit the stage and gave fans what they’ve been seeing blow up online for the past two months or so. Moreover, the trek has been nothing short of exciting, star-studded, eventful, and creative. For this first performance in the A, the Toronto MC fulfilled that precedent and anticipation with a stellar concert going through his biggest hits and bringing out some close friends. Furthermore, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, UK rap giant Central Cee, and Twitch streaming sensation Kai Cenat turned up alongside him for this event.

Birdman Believes The South Dominates Hip-Hop

Birdman thinks that the South reigns supreme when it comes to the conversation regarding rap dominance. While the conversation typically tends to be East coast vs. West coast rap, Birdman says Jermaine Dupri is a big reason why Southern rappers saw commercial success. During an episode of The 85 South Show podcast earlier this month, Birdman shared his thoughts on which region dominates the hip-hop music scene. The Cash Money Records boss said that the South has taken over from both the West and the East. He believes that once people caught onto the South’s sound, they started paying attention. “But once they caught on to us, like it is now, I don’t think they’ll ever get it back,” Birdman explained. “We here forever.”

However, Birdman shared how he feels Jermaine Dupri played a role in bringing some spotlight to the South. “[He] really broke that barrier,” Birdman said. “Went up there and was fighting [for Southern rappers].” “He went up there and really made them play our music. They wouldn’t play our music at all. I got a lot of respect for Jermaine Dupri.”

Following his initial remarks, Birdman reaffirmed his stance, and doubled down on his comments. He continued to assert that the East Coast and West Coast would never again have the dominance they once enjoyed in the music industry. “We [the south] ain’t never letting this s**t go,” he said. “This a feeling, this a vibe and I don’t think we’ll ever let it go. Ever. And I say that respectfully. I just don’t think we’ll ever let the vibe and the motion go.”

While Birdman feels strongly about the South being on top, Jermaine Dupri feels it needs more recognition. Moreover, even til this day, Dupri is making it know that the South needs to stay on the map and deserves more shine. He’s making it clear that Atlanta specifically needs to be recognized for its contributions to hip-hop. Just last month, he expressed on social media how he wished Atlanta got more recognition during hip-hop anniversary celebrations. “Just for the record!” Dupri started in his rant. “No brands have done any dinners or get togethers in Atlanta celebrating the 50 anniversary of HipHop. That’s Crazy!!!”
