Lil Durk Says Kanye West Produced “Almost Healed” But He Won’t Release It

Lil Durk’s coming through with new heat just before we enter the summer months. He released “All My Life” ft. J. Cole earlier this month before confirming that Almost Healed would drop on Friday, May 26th, 2023. Then, he slid through with the tracklist that boasted an array of producers including Wheezy, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Dr. Luke, and more, and features from stars like Alicia Keys and Future. However, this tracklist may have been a second rendition of the tracklist with the first largely consisting of production from Kanye West.

During an interview with DJ Akademiks, Durk opened up about his standings with Kanye West in recent times. Durk explained that he had a conversation where Kanye detailed “wanting to bring the peace back” to Chicago following his collaboration with Rooga. However, Lil Durk explained it was far more complex than Ye perceived it to be. “When sh*t happen behind certain sh*t, it’s not that easy for what you think. You know, I still talk to him,” he explained.

Kanye Produced Lil Durk’s “Almost Healed” First

Afterward, Lil Durk revealed that Kanye West began producing his album in its entirety. “He actually produced by whole album,” Durk revealed. “But I ain’t use it.” The rapper explained that Ye added his magical touch, tweaking with beats and adding vocals. “He played with a couple of records, let me say that,” he said before informing Akademiks that they wouldn’t appear on the tracklist. “He did some genius shit,” Durk added. “I think I’m going to see if I could come back with some genius shit with him, double my sales.”

Although Kanye’s version of Almost Healed likely won’t be released soon, Durk did provide a promising update on the Yeezy founder. “I went to the hotel where he was at. He’s actually in a good head space,” he said. “I guess the bullshit that was going on with him was getting to him but he’s definitely in a good headspace. For now, we could anticipate Lil Durk’s upcoming album tonight. Check out the snippet from his interview with Akademiks above. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Almost Healed.

Lil Durk Drops Bars On “Pelle Coat” Ahead Of “Almost Healed”

Lil Durk is gearing up to drop a brand-new album on Friday called Almost Healed. Overall, it is going to be one of the most ambitious albums of his entire career. He has already released the track “All My Life” which features an incredible verse from J. Cole. Moreover, there are plenty of other great features on the way. Fans are extremely excited to see what Durk is going to come out with here, and it really seems like he has the world in the palm of his hand. It is now up to him to execute his plans effectively.

Subsequently, he has dropped another new track as a way to promote this body of work. Below, you can find his new song called “Pelle Coat.” Interestingly enough, this is one of the few songs on the album that does not have any features on it. Although, this is definitely for a reason. As you will hear, this is a song that definitely comes from the heart.

Lil Durk Continues To Elevate

Throughout the track, we get some somber production that allows Durk to spit bars uninterrupted. Overall, he can be heard rapping about his friends, life on the streets, and a plethora of other topics that are near and dear to his heart. Durk is elevating as an artist, and this track definitely showcases that.

With Almost Healed dropping tomorrow, the hype could not be any higher right now. This is promising to be his best project, and fans are very excited for what he may end up pulling off. Let us know what you think of this new track, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can’t even lie and I love the guys and we make the world spin
On the jail call, but we still risk it ’cause it gotta merge in
Never post the guns that’s really involved ’cause they lurkin’
Where I’m from, you don’t get old, I know some killers that told
I know secrets that nobody know, pray for me, I’m on the road

Lil Durk’s ‘Almost Healed’ Tracklist Features Future, J. Cole, A Posthumous Juice WRLD, And More

The release of Lil Durk‘s eighth studio album Almost Healed is just days away and the Chicago rapper has at last revealed the album’s tracklist. In addition to the previously released J. Cole-featuring single “All My Life,” Almost Healed contains 20 more tracks with features from 21 Savage, Alicia Keys, Future, Kodak Black, and reunions with country star Morgan Wallen and late fellow Chicagoan Juice WRLD. Some of the notable producers featured on the album include ATL Jacob, Metro Boomin, Southside, Wheezy, and Zaytoven.

In the lead-up to the album’s release, Durk has been focusing on committing positive acts to benefit his community. After declaring that he’d no longer drop foes’ names in his music after the death of his artist King Von, Durk has donated $350,000 to education and met with the new mayor of Chicago to discuss “saving kids’ lives.” However, lest anyone think he’d completely turned over a new leaf, he recently made comments calling Gunna a “rat” for allegedly “telling” on Young Thug. The album’s title is, after all, Almost Healed. You can see the tracklist below.

Lil Durk Unveils “Almost Healed” Tracklist

It’s getting closer and closer to the release date of Lil Durk’s highly anticipated next album, Almost Healed. Moreover, following a very successful and acclaimed single with J. Cole, The Voice let us know early on what to expect on the project. Furthermore, he posted the entire tracklist on his Instagram page, consisting of 21 tracks and eight features, including Cole’s aforementioned contributions. Its other guests are Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Juice WRLD, Rob49, Chief Wuk, and Morgan Wallen. With “All My Life” with the Dreamville boss as precedent, plus the big names and close collaborators on this list, this seems like it could be fireworks.

“May 26th Almost Healed,” the Chicago MC wrote in his Instagram post’s caption. “Call my bluff! Let me know which song I should drop tonight.” If any of these collaborations or solo tracks particularly excite you, we recommend you flock to that comments section after wrapping this article up. Some standout track titles are the opener “Therapy Session,” “At This Point We Stuck,” “War Bout It,” and “Moment Of Truth.” Also, this comes after Smurk revealed the production credits on Almost Healed, which include some of the biggest producers today, surprising additions like Alicia Keys, and the controversial multi-instance inclusion of Dr. Luke, who stood accused of various crimes including sexual harassment and other forms of mistreatment.

Lil Durk Shows Fans The Tracklist For Almost Healed

Regardless, now that the project is taking shape, Lil Durk fans must be ravenous for it to drop already. In addition to these reveals, the 30-year-old also kept up the pace with some recent high-profile and inflammatory media appearances. “Now I don’t sit up here and play games, man,” he told DJ Akademiks concerning Gunna’s plea deal in the YSL case. “That man told. You should have went in there and kept your mouth closed.”

Meanwhile, his savage feud with NBA YoungBoy also got quite a lot of hype around his next musical moves. In fact, his single with J. Cole outsold YB’s new mixtape, which caused a lot of fan debate and takes on who’s winning this beef. No matter what he gets himself into next, Durkio is poised to let his art speak more loudly than his other endeavors with this tracklist. Dr. Luke has worked with countless pop stars over the years including Avril Lavigne, Pink, Kesha, Doja Cat, Juicy J, and many more. Kesha famously sued Luke in 2014, accusing him of a litany of offenses. They included sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, civil harassment, violation of California’s laws against unfair business practices, infliction of emotional distress (both intentional and negligent), and negligent retention and supervision.

The credits for Metro Boomin continue a hot streak for the iconic producer who is also handling the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. For that effort, he’s worked with Don Toliver, Coi Leray, and more. The full tracklist drops on June 2nd, alongside the new Marvel film.

Lil Durk & J. Cole Have A Hit: Twitter Praises “All My Life”

Bootleg Kev argued that Lil Durk doesn’t have any solo hits. Sure, doesn’t have a #1 single on his own. However, he undoubtedly knows how to craft a smash record, as he did with J Cole on “All My Life.” Although fans expected Almost Healed at midnight, Durk seemingly took NBA Youngboy’s advice and opted out of dropping tonight. Still, the release of his highly anticipated effort alongside Cole has been well-received by both of their fans.

Ten years ago, it may have seemed unexpected to see Durk and J. Cole on a track. However, as Lil Durk’s star profile grows, his anthemic tune with the Dreamville honcho perfectly captures his growth and evolution as an artist. However, it’s ultimately J. Cole’s verse that has people talking. The wordplay is top-tier and he’s providing gems, detailing his observations between the rising number of deaths among rappers and the coverage of them by the media.

Lil Durk’s “All My Life” Ft. J Cole Earns Praise

“All My Life” kicks off the campaign for Durk’s forthcoming album, which is due out on May 26th. The rapper began teasing the collaboration with J. Cole following his performance at Dreamville Festival, although many thought he was joking. Ultimately, the two rappers slid with a potential #1 hit record that’s poised to be a mainstay on playlists all summer long. There’s no doubt that “All My Life” sets a standard for his upcoming effort, Almost Healed.

Ahead of the release of his latest single, Lil Durk revealed that he sat down with Chicago’s Mayor, which he opens up about on his verse. “I decided I had to finish, but the media called me a menace/ I done sat with the mayor and politicians, I’m tryna change the image,” he raps on the song. The rapper recently revealed that he and mayor Brandon Johnson discussed ways to save the lives of kids in Chicago. Hopefully, we see Durk making more positive changes in his community. Check out Lil Durk and J. Cole’s single above and peep what Twitter had to say about “All My Life” below.

Lil Durk Sits Down With Chicago Mayor-Elect Brandon Johnson

Lil Durk says that he met up with the Mayor-elect of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, to discuss “saving kids’ lives.” He confirmed that the interaction had nothing to do with album promo in a comment on Instagram, Monday. DJ Akademiks initially shared a photo taken from behind the scenes of their meeting.

“It ain’t album promo it’s saving kids lives,” Durk commented on a picture of the two speaking with one another. Fans had initially believed that Durk was attracting attention for the release of his new album, Almost Healed. “Marketing team says otherwise,” one fan commented in response. Another joked, “Nah… bro jus making sure he gon duck that RICO if he ever get hit w it.”

Almost Healed drops on Friday, May 12, and will be Durk’s first full-length studio album since last year’s 7220. Durk discussed his aim with the record during an interview with XXL, earlier this year, when he was still planning to title it The Voice 2.0. He said his biggest focus was “growth.” He explained: “That’s what the 2.0 stand for, just be on another level. Just not only music-wise, like the things around me like I told you, growing from the friends around me, management. Sitting with the mayor. We doin’ big charity things. Neighborhood Heroes, the foundation I got. So, we just doing different things, ’cause if you say you The Voice, it’s like, OK, you The Voice of the Streets, so what happened? What you do? I did this, this, cool. OK, now what you do for the kids? Nah’m sayin’? So, now we just breaking it down. So, we doing this, we doing this, we doing this. Not only on Thanksgiving, not only on Christmas, just on a regular basis, helping people.”

NBA YoungBoy To Drop Mixtape On Same Day As Lil Durk

NBA YoungBoy is reportedly dropping a new mixtape on Friday, the same day that Lil Durk intends to release his new album, Almost Healed. The news was confirmed on social media, earlier this week. The two releases come after YoungBoy and Durk confirmed that they’re still feuding, despite DJ Akademiks claiming otherwise.

“That beef is squashed. You ain’t hear?” the Off the Record podcast host said during a stream last Thursday. “I’m serious. Durk and YoungBoy don’t have beef no more.” Both artists shot down the report on social media. Durk wrote on his IG Story: “I ain’t friends with no n****s [unamused face emoji] stop it.” YoungBoy posted his @BAEHELPTOP handle, “Ak you a bitch along with his industry friends I love this shit it turn out the same way every time.”

Akademiks later clarified his remarks in an Instagram comment. “Lol I ain’t say that,” he wrote. “I mean they ain’t actively dissing each other no more in music and tweets anything y’all see is more than likely directed at other ppl instead of each other.” The two have been opening beef since trading shots on the release of multiple diss tracks, last year. While things appeared to be simmering down for a while, the simultaneous release of new projects may reignite the feud.

As for what fans can expect from Durk’s Almost Healed, he told XXL that he’s focused on “Growth,” with the project. He spoke with the outlet for a cover story, earlier this year. At the time, he was titling the project, The Voice 2.0. “That’s what the 2.0 stand for, just be on another level,” he said. “Just not only music-wise, like the things around me like I told you, growing from the friends around me, management. Sitting with the mayor. We doin’ big charity things. Neighborhood Heroes, the foundation I got.”
