On this date in 2005, Compton emcee The Game released his debut album The Documentary on Aftermath/G-Unit/Interscope records.

The Game was the first G-Unit representative from outside of NYC to be a part of the then-dominating roster consisting of Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and its general, 50 Cent. The album was originally called “Nigga Witta Attitude Vol.1,” but Eazy-E’s wife, Tomica Woods-Wright, legally blocked that N.W.A. title reference from being used.

The album received commercial and critical success, reaching gold status in its first week and 2X platinum within the first two months. The singles that received the most acclaim were 50 Cent-assisted, which many felt was the primary reason for the project’s success. “Hate It Or Love It,” “Westside Story” and This Is How We Do” allowed The Game to see the same degree of fame as his Queens boss, but left many critics to wonder if this feat was capable with no guest appearances. The album’s production was a Hip-Hop producers’ Hall of Fame, with the likes of Kanye West. Scott Storch, Just Blaze, Timbaland, and of course Dr. Dre behind the boards. These key elements make The Documentary The Game’s most notable and successful album to date.

Salute to Dre, 50, Em, The Game, the entire G-Unit and everyone involved in one of the most pivotal Hip-Hop projects of the new millennium.

Dr. Dre Wanted 50 Cent To Leave “21 Questions” Off Of “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”

50 Cent pushed to have “21 Questions” included on his debut album, despite Dr. Dre’s hesitancy.

During a recent visit to Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 Cent revealed how Dr. Dre pushed back against the release of one of his biggest hits. Fif explained that Dre wasn’t totally convinced about releasing “21 Questions” ft. Nate Dogg, largely because it didn’t fit the mold of Get Rich or Die Tryin.

“He said, ‘I don’t know why you want it?’ Why I wanted the record,” he explained. “I’m like, ‘Damn, man, I gotta do all these muthafuckin’ push-ups,’” Fif added. “I want the girls to like me.”

50 Cent explained that he felt as though Dr. Dre wanted him to follow a similar blueprint to N.W.A., who didn’t rely on catering to certain demographics to expand their reach.

“Like they didn’t have to reach to make a commercial record or anything that sounded like a commercial record,” 50 Cent continued. “And that’s just in his DNA. Like on his path, he’s like, ‘We don’t need that.’”

Despite the pushback, the BMF exec. pushed for the record and the results speak for themselves. “21 Questions,” produced by Dirty Swifty, became a massive hit once it dropped. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking yet another #1 single in his career.

Tony Yayo Reflects On Studio Sessions With Ye, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent & Eminem

Tony Yayo recently sat down for a sprawling interview with DJ Vlad. During the pair’s lengthy chat, the 44-year-old dishes on a number of pop culture and hip-hop topics.

In one of the clips, he talks about being in the studio with a number of high-profile names. This evidently includes fellow G-Unit rapper 50 Cent, but also Dr. Dre, Ye and Eminem.

During part of the sit-down, Yayo talks about the famous back-and-forth between 50 Cent and Kanye in 2007. On March September 11 that year, both artists dropped their respective third studio albums. 50’s Curtis and Kanye’s Graduation subsequently went head-to-head on the charts in a battle for the game’s most popular rapper at the time. Of course, the Chicago native came out on top, selling nearly one million copies in its first week.

“I’ve been in the studio with Kanye a couple of times. I remember him coming to Dre’s studio, ’cause everybody used to come to Dre’s studio. See, that’s why I’m so appreciative, ’cause those experiences for me, I would never forget. Forget the cars.. to be in the studio with Dr. Dre and Eminem, that was my dream,” reveals Yayo.

Another rapper he’s spent time with in the studio is Eminem. “Then we in the studio in Detroit.. it’s cold as a b*tch, we out there with Eminem. This [is] f*ckin’ Eminem, this dude just sold 16 million records. We used to go to L.A. with Dre and then we’d go mess with Em,” reflects the New York native.

Ultimately, it certainly seems as though Yayo is reflecting back on these experiences with gratitude. “That’s why I’m so humble, because my dreams came true, man. I might not have as much cars, chains and b*tches as any other rappers [but] it’s not about that. It’s about the experience, man,” says the 44-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, the G-Unit rapper shares his thoughts on Tory Lanez going to jail. “I mean, it could be rough. People are not used to the conditions. You nobody, you just a number. They gon’ make you feel like you’re not R. Kelly or Bill Cosby, they tryna make you feel like you just a number, and that’s what you are, just like everybody else,” he says on his own personal experiences behind bars.

What do you think about Yayo reminiscing on these legendary studio sessions? Comment below. Finally, makes sure to stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest news and stories.

Luenell Says 50 Cent Apologized to Megan Thee Stallion Because ‘He Want Some’

Luenell Reveals That She Went to Jail For Robbing a Bank Before Becoming a Famous Comedian

Luenell was out in the streets and was tracked down by TMZ. The comedian spoke on a few subjects in the quick time with the camera, the main one was 50 Cent’s apology to Megan Thee Stallion.

“He want some,” Luenell said. “He want some like everybody else do. I apologize and I haven’t done anything to her and I want some. ‘Megan, I apologize.”

Turning serious, Luenell would go on to wish the rapper more success.

50 Cent is the first in a long list of names that should apologize to Megan Thee Stallion. During a visit to Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 Cent apologized to Hot Girl Meg for comparing Thee Stallion to Jussie Smollett, who was believed to orchestrate a hate crime hoax.

50 Cent stated his judgment was thrown off by Thee Stallion’s conversation with Gayle King, where she denied a sexual relationship with Lanez. 50 thought everything forward was a lie, and he was not supportive.

“The only reason I felt I should apologize is when I heard the phone conversation, it made me feel like ‘oh shit, now I know what happened,’” 50 said, alluding to Lanez’s calls from jail.

French Montana Claims 50 Cent Was The ‘Biggest Genius’ For Using Beef To Sell And Market Records

French Montana recently appeared on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion, where the rapper opened up about his views on fellow musician 50 Cent.

“50 was picking on n***** to pick on n*****. At one point, he was the biggest genius in the music industry,” he claimed. “He would just pick on you and drop a mixtape. Pick on you and drop an album.

“He kinda created that marketing scheme for a lot of artists to use. I mean people did it before him, but he became the mastermind he became the warlord of that… That’s definitely a blueprint for a lot of n***** to learn.”

The two previously had some documented beef that began over a Bugatti and 50 claiming that French faked his music streams. However, the two appeared to have squashed it last November after French Montana expressed his love for 50 Cent’s show, BMF.

“Man, let me tell you something,” French said on Drink Champs. “I have no problem with 50 no more after he dropped this BMF joint. That’s my favorite sh*t. Whatever me and 50 ever had – shout out to 50. Yeah, me and him, everything is over after BMF. That’s the best work ever.”

“That was the right answer French, well handled,” 50 Cent responded. “What beef, I don’t remember.”

Here’s hoping this doesn’t reignite any bad blood.

French Montana Recalls When 50 Cent “Was Pickin’ On N*ggas”

As he awaits the prison release of his good friend Max B, French Montana is on a press run for Coke Boys 6. The recently released Gangsta Grillz project is being scrutinized by Hip Hop Heads worldwide, and as they dissect, French also sat down with My Expert Opinion. Math Hoffa’s famed YouTube series has often delivered hot takes from Rap’s elite. This time, the crew was revisiting when 50 Cent was targeting his foes decades ago.

Over the years, Fif has engaged in beefs with several of his peers. Ja Rule, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, and even his son Marquise Jackson have been on the wrong side of the Power mogul. “50 was picking on n*ggas to pick on n*ggas,” said French.

He continued, “At one point, he was the biggest genius in the music industry,” he claimed. “He would just pick on you and drop a mixtape. Pick on you and drop an album.”

“He kinda created that marketing scheme for a lot of artists to use.” It has certainly been beneficial in today’s culture of Hip Hop. “I mean, people did it before him, but he became the mastermind. He became the warlord of that.”

“That’s definitely a blueprint for a lot of n*ggas to learn.”

50 Cent Speak On Kanye: “He Stepped On A Landmine”

We’re closing out the week with a bang, thanks to Kanye West. This morning (January 13), rumors surfaced that West had remarried, setting social media on fire. The rapper reportedly wed Yeezy architect Bianca Censori, the woman he was recently seen with in Beverly Hills. While details regarding this rumored marriage continue to take over timelines, a clip of 50 Cent on Big Boy’s Neighborhood has also stolen attention.

Prior to Ye’s recent news, Fif caught up with the famed show and addressed a wide range of topics related to Hip Hop. He also admitted he owed Megan Thee Stallion an apology after trolling her over Tory Lanez. Elsewhere in the conversation, Big Boy wanted to know 50 Cent’s thoughts on Kanye West.

“I don’t know what to—I really didn’t know what the goal was,” said Fif. “‘Cause he just was sayin’ everything you’re not supposed to say. I think, intentionally. It was White Lives Matter first. And then nobody jumps on his because… It didn’t have that effect. You angered some people with that and then just taking it a step further. He just stepped on a landmine.”

50 Cent was also asked about West’s terminated deal with Adidas following the Yeezy mogul’s anti-Semitic remarks. Fif noted that “corporations have guidelines,” and even if you have freedom of speech, it can still have consequences.

“He shouldn’t have done that,” the Power creator said. “What is the goal? What was the purpose of that?”

50 Cent Weighs In On Gabrielle Union Cheating On Her First Husband: “This Is Hoe Sh*t”

50 Cent has certainly never been afraid to speak his mind and is no stranger to controversy.

The Queens native is expected to release new music some time this year. However, 50 also continues to make headlines for his antics and personality.

The “In Da Club” rapper recently sat down for an interview with radio personality Big Boy. During their conversation, he decides to share his thoughts on Gabrielle Union’s recent comments. She admits to cheating on her first husband and offers an explanation as to why.

“Do you think that she looks at a man, if he’s not bringing in more than her, that he should be under whatever?” he questions. “For just sayin’, I was the breadwinner, like, making more money, so now he should just go with whatever I say, until what? She goes find something she likes?” questions the “Candy Shop” rapper.

“This is really what we’re talking about, this is hoe sh*t, man. This is the mentality of someone who’s a hoe. Because [she’s] saying, ‘if you got the bigger bag, then I’ll listen. But if their bag ain’t right, I’m out.’ That’s hoe talk,” 50 continues afterwards.

Of course, the actress is responsible for stirring up some controversies due to some recent comments. While appearing on Dax Shepard‘s podcast, Armchair Expert, Union says her and her ex-husband, Chris Howard, used to cheat on each other. During the pair’s conversation, she reflects on her behavior.

“I just felt entitled to it as well. I was paying all the bills, I was working my ass off and I felt like, that’s what comes with the spoils of riches. And, like my dad before me, whoever has the most gets to do whatever the hell they want, is what I thought. It was just dysfunctional from day one,” Union explains in a clip from the chat.

Union and Howard split in 2005. The Bad Boys II actress is now married to former NBA star Dwayne Wade. They married in 2014 and their daughter, Kaavia James, was subsequently born in 2018.
