2 Chainz Calls On Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, And More For ‘Dope Don’t Sell Itself’

On February 4, 2 Chainz will deliver his seventh full-length effort, Dope Don’t Sell Itself. So far two singles have been released: “Million Dollars Worth Of Game,” with 42 Dugg, and “Pop Music,” with Moneybagg Yo and Beatking. The album will be his first since 2020’s So Help Me God and it may also be his “last trap album,” as he previously hinted in a tweet last summer. Ahead of its release, 2 Chainz unveils the tracklist and artwork.

The cover is an image of him holding a shoebox filled with cash while a blunt sits between his fingers. He described it as “a reimagined image of my ‘first bank account,’” adding, “I’m sure some of the hustlers can relate !” Dope Don’t Sell Itself features 12 songs and appearances from Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, Swae Lee, Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, Beatking, Young Boy Never Broke Again, Sleepy Rose, Steve God Cooks, Symba, Major Myjah, and Jacquees.

2 Chainz, Moneybagg Yo, And Beatking’s ‘Pop Music’ Video Looks Like Something From The Freaknik Archives

In just a few weeks, 2 Chainz will drop his Dope Don’t Sell Itself album, his first full-length release in almost two years. He began the rollout for the project, which may be his “last trap album,” by releasing “Million Dollars Worth Of Game” with 42 Dugg. Just a couple of weeks later, 2 Chainz is back with a second single for his listeners to enjoy. “Pop Music” finds the Atlanta rap star standing beside Moneybagg Yo and Beatking for a fun and energetic single.

The track is an ideal release for the strip club, with the three artists encouraging the women around them to shake what their mommas gave them. 2 Chainz leads the way with a lighthearted verse before Moneybagg Yo comes in to handle business on the second verse. Beatking holds it all together with a simple but effective hook on the track. The trio also released a music video for the song and it’s a risque visual, obviously inspired by the infamous Freaknik festival, that’s filled with plenty of women who have no issue with twerking their lives away.

Prior to “Pop Music” and “Million Dollars Worth Of Game,” 2 Chainz united with DJ Premier to show off their tunnel vision spirits on “Mortgage Free.” As for Moneybagg Yo, he recently teamed up with French Montana for a video for their “FWMGAB” remix.

2 Chainz And 42 Dugg Dish Out A ‘Million Dollars Worth Of Game’

At some point this month, 2 Chainz will release his seventh album Dope Don’t Sell Itself. The Atlanta native confirmed the news to begin the new year, and whichever day it’s set to arrive, it’s set to be a promising follow-up to his 2020 release So Help Me God. The release of Dope Don’t Sell Itself could also mark the end of an era for 2 Chainz as he previously announced that his next album would be his “last trap album.” It remains to be seen if that statement will hold true, but until then, we can enjoy the first offering from Dope Don’t Sell Itself.

2 Chainz recruits help from Detroit rapper 42 Dugg and production from LilJuMadeDaBeat for his latest single, “Million Dollars Worth Of Game.” The track finds 2 Chainz standing tall as a veteran in both the rap game and the streets. With that comes the knowledge and wisdom he’s attained over the years, which he dishes over the track while 42 Dugg handles the hook and delivers a verse of his own on the song. The track is also paired with a music video that finds 2 Chainz and 42 Dugg in a lavish mansion surrounded by a cast of beautiful women.

The track arrives after 2 Chainz teamed up with DJ Premier for “Mortgage Free” which he released last month. As for 42 Dugg, the collaboration comes after he connected with Lil Durk in a video for their “Free Ric” track.

2 Chainz Promises ‘Dope Don’t Sell Itself’ Will Drop This Month

2 Chainz remains one of the more prolific and consistent names in rap music, even after nearly 20 years in the game. While he’s had a couple of off years — including 2021, during which he did not release a new project — it always seems inevitable that he’ll return with a new collection of punchline-ridden trap jams with an elaborate title. It looks like this month will be his target for the previously announced Dope Don’t Sell Itself, as he announced on his social media.

“Hey how u been!?,” he wondered in the post. “ts been a min I know, but im back with something new & exotic. U know I ain’t been around this long w/o being a thinker and a constant student & teacher of the game… my album ‘DOPE DONT SELL ITSELF’ drops this month & single this week. Sincerely, Two Tone Toni.”

As he previously revealed, he expects Dope Don’t Sell Itself to be his last trap album. Just before the new year, he provided a glimpse at the future with “Mortgage Free,” a new single produced by DJ Premier. Tapping into a Golden Era-influenced sound, the track shows how he might evolve past the musical (ahem) trappings of his prior works such as 2020’s So Help Me God.

2 Chainz’s Tunnel Vision Spirit Is Alive On ‘Mortgage Free’ With DJ Premier

If you’ve been hoping for new music from 2 Chainz, we’ve got some good news for you: the Atlanta rapper is back in action tonight and his newest release finds him paired alongside DJ Premier. Together, the duo delivers “Mortgage Free” and it’s a track that 2 Chainz uses to highlight to show off his tunnel vision and motivation to make sure that he continuously lives, well, mortgage-free. DJ Premier also provides strong production to the track to make it all that much enjoyable.

The new track arrives after 2 Chainz celebrated the tenth anniversary of his beloved T.R.U. REALigion mixtape. He held a concert in his hometown of Atlanta to perform tracks from the project which features Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill, Jadakiss, and more. The performance came after 2 Chainz revealed the title of his next album. The upcoming release will be titled Dope Don’t Sell Itself, as 2 Chainz revealed back in August. There’s no release date for the project at the moment, but it could be the rapper’s “last trap album” thanks to a tweet he put out this past summer.

Dope Don’t Sell Itself will be the follow-up to his 2020 album So Help Me God. The album arrived with 15 tracks and guest appearances from Ty Dolla Sign, Ye, Brent Faiyaz, Latto, Lil Uzi Vert, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and more.
