Blueface is still having a good time behind bars, or at least, the best time that he can have under the circumstances. On Friday (January 3), footage surfaced – presumably from his father’s Instagram Story – that showed him playing basketball in the prison courtyard, with Jonathan Porter Sr. filming him from behind the fences. “Happy New Year 2025… Hit on the slots… ran into blue on the yard… We coming home soon,” he wrote on his post. There’s been a lot to catch up with when it comes to the drama surrounding the California rapper, but for now, it seems like he has a physical outlet to cleanse himself of some of those energies.

Moreover, this prison footage comes after Blueface’s recently reposted pictures with his on-and-off-again boo Chrisean Rock, which she shared again two years after their original post. “Free you I love you Jonathan [blue heart emoji],” she wrote in her Instagram Story repost of the photoshoot. There are still a lot of questions around their relationship and if they actually tied the knot or buried the hatchet, given their many years of volatile antics, breakups, and scandalous accusations.

For example, one of the narratives around Blueface and Chrisean Rock concerns cheating allegations against both of them, with the most recent claims coming from a past friend of the latter that alleges she slept with Offset behind Cardi B’s back. Despite how widespread these rumors became, fans never got confirmation either way on any of it, so it’s still a lingering question for many. However, this drama also became far too complicated to keep tabs on effectively for a lot of social media users. Many probably hoped that they wouldn’t hear too much about it in 2025, but here we are.

Diddy Accuses Feds of Violating His Rights Ahead of 2025 Trial

As Sean “Diddy” Combs prepares for his 2025 trial on six trafficking and RICO charges, the music mogul is making explosive allegations against federal officials. Diddy’s legal team claims that a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) investigator shared his private jailhouse notes with prosecutors, jeopardizing his defense strategy and violating his constitutional rights.

According to AllHipHop, the controversy stems from a prison-wide sweep conducted at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn two months ago. During the raid, officials reportedly confiscated Diddy’s personal notes, which included sensitive trial preparation details. Despite orders for the notes to be destroyed, an investigator allegedly copied and passed the information to the prosecution.

Diddy’s Legal Team Responds

Alexandra A.E. Shapiro, Diddy’s attorney, has described the actions as a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment, which protects individuals from unlawful searches and seizures.

“It is indisputable that a BOP investigator based in West Virginia has been feeding Mr. Combs’s jail communications to the prosecutors,” Shapiro stated. “[The investigator] inspected and copied Mr. Combs’s privileged notes.”

The notes reportedly contained confidential defense strategies, giving prosecutors what Diddy’s team argues is an unfair advantage.

Government Silence Sparks Outrage

Diddy’s defense team has accused the government of refusing to clarify why his notes were specifically targeted during the sweep. The BOP claimed the raid was part of a broader effort to uncover corruption and contraband within the facility, but the defense contends the investigator’s actions were deliberately aimed at undermining Diddy’s case.

“The government refuses to tell the Court what [the investigator] has to say about his motivations or thinking,” Shapiro added, calling the situation a “flagrant” breach of protocol.

Nicki Minaj’s Lawyer Slams An Assault And Battery Lawsuit Reportedly Filed By Her Former Manager

Nicki Minaj’s time in Gag City could land the “Arctic Tundra” rapper in a courtroom. Yesterday (January 3), TMZ reported that Nicki Minaj’s former day-to-day manager accused Nicki Minaj of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a newly filed lawsuit. Now, Minaj’s legal team has issued an official response.

In a statement shared with the outlet, Minaj’s lawyer Judd Burstein slammed the allegations while questioning the validity of the supposed filing. “At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty,” he said. “Therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations. However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

The original report claimed, Brandon Garrett, submitted the paperwork outlining the alleged grievances with Minaj (real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty), which stemmed from his time working on Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour. Garrett’s claims that when the tour made a stop at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on April 20, 2024, Minaj confronted him about his “job responsibilities” which alleged ended in her screaming at him then “striking him on the right side of his face with an open hand” and later his right wrist.

After the supposed incident Minaj’s security team denied him access to the tour bus which was headed to their next performance in Chicago. He claims he was then left stranded in Detroit. Garrett is seeking undisclosed damages for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It all began with Album Inna Day, a project entirely produced by Blame It On Monstah. The project boasted 11 songs. Then, just three days later, 03 Greedo would drop off ALL I EVER WANTED IS A BANKROLL. It was another rapper/producer tape, with Tyler Hooks helming the production.

That brings us to 2025: THE STREETZ IS OVER WIIT, which completes this hat trick. He got in just before the ball dropped and it’s the longest of this trio. It features a sweep of producers such as Turbo, Ron-Ron The Producer, and more. The features are also plentiful with Babyfxce E, Dc2trill, RX Peso, among some of them. While this is certainly impressive to be witnessing, this isn’t anything new for 03 Greedo. He’s been this prolific for years, so it probably feels like clockwork to him. The Joe Budden Podcast has now reacted to Drake’s new freestyle, supposedly titled “Fighting Irish.” The cohosts discussed this without the program’s titular commentator, as he’s dealing with some legal issues right now that probably have him busy and distracted. Melyssa Ford, Ish, Ice, and company discussed the 6ix God’s new sets of bars, and they had overall praiseful opinions about his lyrical ability. However, what they discussed the most was how this is just one example of how they’ve always liked his music, despite Ish positing that their coverage of the Kendrick Lamar battle was not objective in favor of the West Coast lyricist.

Furthermore, this prompted a discussion around how “Family Matters,” “meet the grahams,” and “Not Like Us” were covered in the media and how the surprise factor of the latter two stepped on any possibility of the Drake track being a hit. Regardless of where you stand on that, The Joe Budden Podcast presented too many narratives for us to really call their coverage unfair or not. After all, much like with a lot of other hip-hop media, their thoughts on the battle were a natural result of the discourse and not anything that they had to force.

Of course, that goes both ways, and it doesn’t take away from the fact that both Drake and Kendrick Lamar fans – or rather, a small percentage of them – became absolutely delusional as a result of this beef and can no longer offer an earnest assessment of anything without going full hater or glazer mode. Hopefully for The Joe Budden Podcast‘s next episode, they can go into more detail about the lyrical gems to appreciate about this new Drizzy freestyle.

Much of that discussion revolves around all the people that Drake shaded through his bars, but not every bit of praise for a record has to depend on its shots these days, as much as 2024’s rap beef warped that perception. From a rhyme scheme and sheer writing standpoint, you don’t need to hand him the W to appreciate the solidly creative and impressive moments throughout. Let’s hope 2025 brings more honest narratives to the forefront and that Kendrick Lamar’s dominant win doesn’t prompt more fans to take away from either his or Aubrey’s artistic merits.

Rio Da Yung Og Kicks Off His 2025 Right With Banger “WYDT”

It seems Rio Da Yung Og’s New Year resolution for 2025 is reasserting himself in the game. If this is actually what he’s intending to do, “WYDT” is doing a fabulous job at helping him achieve that. The Flint, Michigan rapper has had a bit of a cult-like following for the past few years and it seems his fan base is growing larger by the week. If you are one of those newer listeners, let us fill you in a bit on what’s been new with Rio. During the middle of December, he was released from federal prison in Arkansas after serving a five-year sentence.

He was charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He’s know either going to be in a halfway house or take on confinement within his own place until July 12, 2025. Following that, Rio Da Yung Og will need to be supervised for an additional 18 months. While he won’t fully be free until January 2027, it definitely beats being behind bars. His current situation also allows him to finally get back onstage, which he will be doing on January 11 in Detroit with “surprise guests.” A project is also assuredly coming with “WYDT” being his second single in the last couple of weeks. Kanye West is still working on his new album Bully, and we got a couple of snippets and interesting reports on this supposed solo project. We say “supposed” because, at the end of the day, you never know what to expect from his album rollouts. Nevertheless, Ye seems committed to this next phase in his career, as he continues to promote it and hype up its arrival through odd but welcome means. For example, he recently posted a picture to his Instagram Story of a horse in Kai Cenat’s room wearing some merch from this new LP, specifically a large black flag (shoutout Henry Rollins!) that spells out the album title.

For those unaware, this horse is from an earlier Kai Cenat stream this year, and the jury’s still out over whether or not this is an edited picture or the real deal. However, what really makes this moment notable is the contentious history that Kanye West and the streaming giant share. They had a bit of a falling out when Ye sent Kai some oversized Yeezy merch, but it’s great to see that they seemingly buried that hatchet. Or this is just another overstep from the Chicago artist that completely took the media personality by surprise, so we’ll see how he reacts to it.

Funnily enough, there was a recent Kanye West-related viral moment for Kai Cenat that is a little more embarrassing than oversized clothing. During his recent sit-down with Shannon Sharpe for Club Shay Shay, the sports commentator roasted Kai’s Yeezy Red Octobers once they started to fall apart during their conversation. It doesn’t really have anything to do with the musician and fashion mogul, but it’s another curious headline around Cenat and Yeezy merch, which this new horse pic also represents.

Beyond Kai Cenat’s apparent cosign, Kanye West continues to face more heavy controversy these days around his Yeezy merch and movement as a whole.
