Ice Spice’s Manager Dubs Cleopatra A “Clout Chaser” Amidst Ongoing Feud

The more popular Ice Spice gets, the more she attracts enemies. Cleopatra is the latest artist to level unflattering accusations at the “Munch” rapper. She claimed that her expenses were not covered when she opened for Ice Spice on tour. She also said that she was forced to pay for her own wardrobe and hotel rooms. Ice Spice’s manager, James Rosemond, Jr., did not like what he heard. He dismissed Cleopatra’s story, and accused the rapper of chasing clout because she’s struggling to make “hits.”

Cleopatra shared her account in a series of Instagram videos. James Rosemond, Jr., however, decided to go to Twitter to air out his grievances. He spent most of September 3 dismantling the idea that Ice Spice did anything wrong. “This is what happens when an artist’s team don’t manage their artists expectations when an opportunity comes in front of them,” he tweeted. “If you [are] not prepared for an opportunity and your team isn’t properly advancing then that’s on them.” Rosemond went on to say that rappers who complain about being mistreated are “corny” and should address their issues privately.

Ice Spice’s Manager Denies Cleopatra’s Claims

“Openers don’t have same things headliners has,” Rosemond continued. It’s worth noting that Ice Spice’s manager never mentions Cleopatra by name. He remains vague while addressing the situation, but given the timing and the attention that Cleopatra’s claims have gotten, it’s easy to read between the lines. Rosemond accused a certain rapper of resorting to petty drama to boost their profile, while Ice Spice has been able to maintain her popularity by releasing hit songs. The most damning comment, though, is undoubtedly Rosemond’s comment about clout chasing.

Rosemond also alluded to the fact that Cleopatra’s manager urged her to air out dirty laundry online as a means of garnering sympathy. “People know how to go viral for clout,” he explained. “And they go public with something that can be handle from a private phone call to speak on differences.” Ice Spice has also responded to Cleopatra’s claims via Instagram Live, but her comments were markedly more sympathetic than Rosemond’s. He really made sure Cleopatra looked bad for going after his artist.

KRS-One Bashes Hip Hop For Only Honoring Rappers After They Die

KRS-One is one of the most outspoken emcees of all time. He has no problem airing out his issues with other rappers or even the genre itself. The latter proved to be the target of his latest talking point. During an appearance on the 97.9 The Box, KRS-One took hip hop to task for elevating the status of artists after they die. He lamented the fact that so many go unappreciated during their lifetime, and are only given legendary status when they can no longer appreciate it.

The whole conversation started with Fatman Scoop. KRS-One had high praise for the rapper, who died on August 30. “It’s a shame we’re talking about him in this way,” KRS stated. “Hip hop gotta stop doing that. Only when dudes pass, that’s when they get on.” The Boogie Down Productions frontman went on to assert that fans need to appreciate talent when it’s still in front of them. “We should’ve been looking at Fatman Scoop when his career was blowing up.” He then went on to point out that Scoop never got radio play during his lifetime.

KRS-One Wants To See Hip Hop Evolve As A Genre

The interviewer asked KRS-One whether other genres of music honor their dead appropriately, and the rapper shot the question down on principle. “Other genres suck,” he noted. “We don’t give a f*ck about them. Hip hop runs sh*t.” KRS-One believes that rap should set the standard for other genres in terms of honoring their artists, since it’s the most popular. This isn’t the first time the rapper has taken the current generation to task for their nonchalant behavior.

During a 2023 panel at Essence Festival, KRS-One labeled modern rappers “traitors” when it came to the original intent of the genre. “What people call rap or hip hop today is a disgrace to our culture,” he said to a surprised crowd. “An absolute betrayal, disrespect and a disgrace… If you know what original hip hop is all about and you choose to do the opposite, you a traitor.” KRS-One has said some positive things about the likes of Kendrick Lamar, but it’s clear he wants to see lots of change within the game.

Destroy Lonely Drops Five New “Love Lasts Forever” Songs On His Website

Destroy Lonely isn’t done. The rapper blessed fans with his sophomore album, Love Last Forever, on Friday. The album had over 20 songs, including three bonus cuts. More than enough to keep fans fed for the foreseeable future. Destroy Lonely decided to drop yet another batch of songs on Tuesday, though. Well, sort of. The rapper put out five bonus tracks, but they are only available to purchase as part of the Love Lasts Forever V2 order on his personal website.

The bonus tracks in question do not include features. Given how few rappers appear on the standard edition of the album, though, this should come as no surprise. Destroy Lonely’s new titles include “The Bounce,” “Make a Sound,” “See You Tomorrow,” “Meet the Boss” and “Bling.” They raise the tracklist count to an impressive 26. The digital download price for the album is $5.00, but it’s only been made available to fans who live in the U.S.

Destroy Lonely’s Deluxe Version Is Billed As “V2”

Destroy Lonely is constantly recording. He claimed to have hundreds of unreleased songs during a 2023 interview with Hypebeast. He also voiced a desire to release them to the public at different points, given how important each song is to him. “I hope I’m able to release it all to the world one day,” he said. “Every song I ever made is a diary entry. Some of them are sent to the world and some of them I keep to myself.” Destroy Lonely also revealed that he makes longer and shorter tracklists for each album he puts out, which almost certainly was the case with Love Lasts Forever.

“I’ve had like three, four, five different tracklists for every project I’ve ever made,” Lonely admitted. “I was ready to let people hear those songs. I elevated them to a point where it made sense to release them.” Destroy Lonely isn’t the only artist who has decided to bypass streaming platforms in the last few months. Drake has found success with his 100 Gigs website. Travis Scott, meanwhile, has made a ton by selling Days Before Rodeo variants on his own website.

Kanye West Reportedly Inspired To Make New Album After Korea Show

Kanye West is at a musical low point. The man many deem the greatest musical artist of the 21st century has struggled mightily with his latest albums. The quality has been lacking, and the focus that defined his earlier output has all but disappeared. Even the most staunch defenders of VULTURES 1 and VULTURES 2 would have to agree. Kanye West has reportedly turned over a new musical leaf, however. The rapper was reportedly inspired by his recent performance in South Korea, and has decided to start work on a brand new album.

The reports of a new album surfaced on September 3. The CEO for Channel Candy, the event organizers who work with Kanye West, claimed the rapper was deeply affected by how well the South Korea concert went. The rapper ran through a staggering 74 song set, and it was received rapturously by the fans who attended. A new album would seek to “channel” this positive energy. Kanye West’s new album will bear the influence of Goyang Gongyeon. Channel Candy’s CEO also hinted at a concert performance for the new album that would be similar to the South Korean show.

Kanye West Will Reportedly Perform In China This October

The performance will reportedly take place in Hainan, China on October 15. There are no additional details on the new album. However, it’s believed that it will be separate from the VULTURES albums with Ty Dolla Sign. Fans are still waiting on the final installment of the VULTURES trilogy, but it looks as though West will be embarking on his first solo album since 2021’s DONDA. These revelations are exciting, but they must also be taken with the largest grain of salt possible.

Kanye West has become the most unpredictable artist in hip hop. His album rollouts have become increasingly chaotic, as evidenced by VULTURES 2. The anticipated sequel was delayed for months, dropped suddenly, and then tweaked repeatedly. The “official” version of the album bears very little resemblance to the original as a result. Kanye West is an unreliable source because he seemingly has no idea what will happen from session to session. Hopefully this new album will break the cycle.

Drake Accused Of Releasing “Blue Green Red” Without Clearing Sample

Drake has managed to drum up lots of excitement with his 100 Gigs releases. They have garnered millions of views on Instagram and Twitter. The problem is, the translation to streaming services has been hampered by sample problems. Ones that Drake’s OVO team have allegedly failed to resolve. The rapper’s song “Blue Green Red” samples Steely & Clevie’s “When,” but one half of the duo is claiming that Drake put the song out without properly clearing the sample.

Clevie sat down with Dancehall Magazine to discuss this alleged dispute. He said that Sony/EMI reached out to him with a clearance clearance request, but failed to include Drake’s new song in the request. “We can’t clear a song without hearing it,” Clevie noted. “But Drake went ahead and leaked it before.” He then said that the label put the song on streaming without getting the okay from him or Steely. It goes without saying that there’s a massive legal problem here if true. “Because they did this before the fact, that can mean problems,” the artist added.

Drake Allegedly Leaked The Song Before It Was Cleared

The sample in question is during the post-chorus for “Blue Green Red.” Drake raps the bars “What the clock inna London? Yeah, Big Ben,” which is an interpolation of a similar line in Steely & Clevie’s “When.” Clevie notes that the line gets used twice in the song. “They used the melody just in a section, and it was repeated twice,” he asserted. “So this is a clear infringement.” Clevie acknowledges that sample issues are not always the fault of the artist, but notes that he deserves compensation for a lyrics and melody he helped create. “Efforts were made to get to us, but it is the record company’s responsibility to clear the song,” he concluded.

Drake can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to song complications. “Supersoak,” his anticipated collab with Lil Yachty, was said to never come out to due to issues with the creator being sampled. It did make its way to streaming, but by then, Yachty’s verse had been removed. “No Face” ran into a similar issue in which the Instagram version featured Playboi Carti, and the streaming version was forced to remove the Opium founder.

Boosie Badazz Claims Ralo Is Using Him For Clout In Nuclear Twitter Rant

Ralo picked a fight with the wrong guy. The veteran rapper hopped on Instagram on September 3 to talk about his career. He then explained that he wants to become a CEO, and cited Boosie Badazz as a prime example of someone he didn’t want to be: a rapper doing shows in his 40s. In the least surprising string of events in beef history, Boosie got upset. The rapper decided to log into Twitter and respond to Ralo in detailed, disrespectful fashion.

Firstly, he criticized Ralo for using his name in the first place. Then he labeled him a clout chaser. He also flipped Ralo’s criticism by stating that he was proud fans still wanted to see him play shows on a regular basis. “I’m grateful that I’m still making $150K a weekend n selling out shows,” he tweeted. “U don’t have a rapper n will never have one.” Boosie Badazz, being the supreme trash talker that he is, also dunked on Ralo’s aspiration to become a CEO. “U right u should be a CEO,” he added. “Cause one thing you can’t do is make music. God did not give u that talent.” Absolutely brutal.

Boosie Badazz Decimated Ralo With A Single Tweet

Boosie Badazz’s Twitter rant is lengthy, but the biggest sticking point for him is the clout chasing. He feels that Ralo has been starved for attention since the rapper’s release from prison in 2023. Bringing up Boozie Badazz’s name is an easy way to generate attention, at least Boozie thinks so. He kind of has a point, too. “Every other month u mentioning me smh,” he added. “Get me off your mind n stop using my name for clout. U got my line if you want to tell me something.” Somehow, things got more personal from there. Boosie decided to share some behind-the-scenes info.

He claimed that he gave Ralo a guest verse when he was still in prison. Not only did he appear on a song, but he allegedly refused to take the $10K he was offered. “I’m the same n**ga did a verse n video for you when [you] was locked up. N refused the 10K U was tryna pay me.” Boosie Badazz proceeded to end the whole rant with a hilarious put down. He claimed to be headed to the studio to record some new music, and that he hoped Ralo was not doing the same. “I’m bout to listen to these beats n make some music,” he concluded. “I just hope u not doing the same thing.” We’re going to call it: Boosie won this one.

Nipsey Hussle’s Son Looks Just Like Him And Fans Are Blown Away

Nipsey Hussle was known for his work ethic and his integrity. He was arguably more known for these aspects than his music, despite rising to fame as a rapper. Nipsey’s death in 2019 was tragic on many levels, but perhaps the most tragic was the fact that his only son would grow up without a father. Kross Ermias Asghedom turned eight years old on August 31. His mom, Lauren London, celebrated by posting a rare photo of him on Instagram. Fans were immediately struck by how much Kross looked like his late father.

It’s easy to see why. Kross looks like the spitting image of Nipsey Hussle, right down to the features and hairstyle. London posted the photo alongside a touching poem. “My little wise one,” she wrote. “You are the hope and promise. God shines through you. Happy 8th Birthday to my baby.” The comment section was flooded with support for the family, and glowing comparisons between Kross and his father. “Lil Nip,” one user wrote. “Watch what his father do through him,” another write. “His time is coming and we will see Kross rise high.”

Nipsey Hussle’s Son Celebrated His 8th Birthday

Nipsey Hussle talked about the joys of fatherhood several times during his lifetime. The rapper made a point of being a positive role model and consistent force in Kross’ life. “I think the definition of fatherhood is consistency,” he asserted. He also noted that a father needs to be thorough, and make sure that he’s laying the groundwork for his family to strive. He said something similar during a sit down with Steph Curry. “Every day when I take [my daughter] to school, we have a little convo that we have before she gets out of the car,” Nipsey told the NBA superstar. “[It goes] like ‘what is integrity?’ ‘Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.’”

This mindset is something that has lived on beyond Nipsey himself. In 2023, Kelly Rowland cited Nipsey Hussle’s words when discussing the way she raises her own sons. “I wanted my boys to have integrity and I got that from Nipsey Hussle,” Rowland told Parents Magazine. “I want them to be the kind of men who are proud of themselves. That’s really important to me — being good decision-makers.” Kross will no doubt make his father proud.
