Ray J Explains Altercation With Princess Love To Their Kids In Disturbing New Footage

Ray J sparked a lot of fan concern as usual for his recent social media post, but this time, it’s for far more disturbing reasons. Moreover, he went Live on Instagram around Thursday (September 12) to record a tough conversation with his children. In the video below, the Mississippi native’s son Epik (4) and daughter Melody (6) hear his explanations for what seemed to be a fight between him and his ex-wife Princess Love. They are still pretty amicable considering that this is their fourth divorce announcement or so, but it seems like an allegedly staged altercation was shocking enough to warrant a sit-down.

“I just want to make sure, are you good?” Ray J seemed to ask his son Epik. “Dada never did nothing to nobody. Mama never did nothing to me, dada never did nothing to mama, right? Everything is safe? Have dada put hand on mama or mama put hands on dada? No, right? Okay, so there’s no reason to call the police, right? We just making a movie. We’re just playing. Okay?” Epik then seemed to ask if they could go to Ray’s house. He agreed, but shared that he wanted to make sure “everything is safe here with Melody and everybody. But nothing crazy has happened. I got it all on tape.”

Ray J’s Conversation With His Kids

Then, Ray J’s daughter Melody seemed to walk in, crying loudly. “That’s my brother,” she seemed to yell. “Everything is okay,” her father replied, trying to assure that he and her mom still love each other. “It was just pretend, okay baby? I want Epik to just tell mama that he’s going with me so mama knows what’s going on.” “I love my brother,” Melody exclaimed with a loud cry. The clip ends with the singer telling his and his ex-wife’s kids to say sorry to their mother for him. “Mama wants to take your hug,” one of the children replied. “Then everything’s okay? Alright, cool,” he responded, thus marking the end of this recording.

Furthermore, a lot of fans expressed outrage and a lot of worry, specifically for Ray J’s children. While the relationship with Princess Love still has a public-facing reconciliation, it seems like there may be issues underneath. All we can hope for is that they can work everything out and keep their children out of it.

Childish Gambino’s “Bando Stone & The New World Tour” Is A Masterclass In Omnidirectional Creativity

A plethora of performers nowadays ventures into multiple territories: singing, dancing, acting and the like. A noted majority of those entertainers do so with genuine intention and vigor. That said, execution is what creates the incalculably vast chasm between “good” and “great.”

Donald Glover, just as recognizable by his musical alias Childish Gambino, floats over the previously alluded-to canyon with his eyes closed. Whether it’s rapping on projects such as Because The Internet or belting his soul out over live instrumentation on Awaken, My Love, he executes with an accuracy that puts automation to shame. Throw in a small film role here and there (nothing crazy of course, just playing the iconic Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story), and being one of the masterminds behind the hit television series Atlanta, it’s blatantly obvious that his creativity knows no bounds.

Donald Glover’s propensity for worldbuilding is absolutely extraordinary on the Bando Stone & The New World Tour. After WILLOW’s rousing opening showcase, rather than treating the audience to silence between the two acts—as is standard (and not necessarily frowned upon)—Gambino began building the futuristic soundscape with auditory mechanical warfare. Glaring lights, intentionally abrasive and jarring, flooded the arena as the seconds ticked closer to his first track. Fitting the ambience that was being cultivated, Gambino appeared in a leather jacket and cybernetically enhanced mask. Ultimately, this was to perform “hearts were meant to fly,” the opening track from Bando Stone And The New World. The lasers, visuals, and environment took on a Daft Punk-esque texture and displayed a near unquestionable fact: Childish Gambino’s last tour will be one to remember.

Gambino’s stacked discography in tow, it was almost impossible to know the direction the setlist would veer into. Tracks like “I. The Worst Guys” were strategically placed between cuts from the recent album, such as “Survive” and “Talk My Shit,” developing early onset audience intensity with a blend of the old and the new. To cap off this introductory segment, Bino exclaimed, “I know that the DMV can really bounce!” while rattling off the menacingly infectious dance track “Got To Be.” With the crowd rowdy and raring to go, Donald Glover had absolutely no intention of pumping the brakes.

Forward-Thinking Futurism Was The Selection for the Evening

The aforementioned futuristic soundscape was accompanied by an equally advanced visual display. “Please keep your hands away from any lights and lasers, as we’re using a lot of new technology” expressed Glover, leading into a stellar performance of the recently released cut “In The Night.” Chromatic lights and beams flared in tandem with vocal runs, bassline walks, descending drum patterns, and the like. These all-encompassing setpieces were excellently offset with simpler, stripped-down sections—such as when “rapping Gambino” made an appearance for the brash and boastful “Yoshinoya.” As expected of a farewell tour of sorts, tracks from multiple Childish Gambino projects and features paid a visit. Energy-abundant tracks like “To Be Hunted” (from Atavista) and “Witchy” (a feature from KAYTRANADA’s TIMELESS) were paired with hypnotic syncopated flashes, before winding down to reveal a mesmerizing performance of “Steps Beach.”

In a showing as omnidirectional as his illustrious career, Gambino rang off a segment of multi-genre heavy hitters. Understandably, it threw the crowd into a frenzy. “I. Crawl” and “A Place Where Love Goes” served as bookends to this chapter of the show. Consequently, one can imagine the palpable energy in the venue. The Yeat feature on “Cruisin’” was spotlighted by his appearance on the mega-screens. “Feels Like Summer” engendered the lofty and hazy atmosphere expected from the sonics and title. While “Human Sacrifice” felt like the audience was surrendering their inhibitions to the music before the previously noted “A Place Where Love Goes” took things home. The fan-favorite “No Excuses”—a 7-minute, 23-second long expedition through lush vistas and lavish valleys—played as a stellar (and much-needed) intermission.

Fresh out of the brief reprieve, Donald Glover dove into the track that solidified him as a dynamic powerhouse. The intro track from the critically acclaimed Awaken, My Love album: “Me and Your Mama.” The performance was just as much of a shock to the system as the first listen. Gambino poured every ounce of his musical ability into a masterful showcase of range, mood and passion, before excitedly taking the audience back to some of the simpler Childish Gambino classics.

“Are y’all real fans, though?” started Gambino, before rattling off hit after hit from his extensive discography. The nature of this segment makes it incredibly fun to list what tracks he presented to the audience. It truly displays how much enjoyment one can get from this section of music alone. He performed, in succession: “Do Ya Like,” “This Is America,” “IV. Sweatpants,” “Sober,” “L.E.S.,” “Heartbeat,” “Bonfire,” “Freaks And Geeks,” “III. Telegraph Ave. (“Oakland” by Lloyd),” and “V. 3005.” By this point, the audience was just as vibrant and beaming as the year 3000 luminescence adorning the venue from all directions.

For His Final Act, Donald Glover Sets Childish Gambino Ablaze

Then, the stage took on a silky, fire-orange hue. The lasers and lights dwindled and dimmed, and the buzz from “3005” quieted slowly in anticipation of what’s next. Based on the mood being set, and the tracks the audience was yet to hear, whispers of the track to come were becoming increasingly abundant. In each section, one could hear “Is this…?” or “Is he gonna do…?”

Those inquiries and assumptions were met with the unmistakable sound of 7 kick drum hits. “Redbone” was the next course on the menu, and it more than lived up to expectations. Flames sprouted from the stage as Gambino serenaded the audience with his biggest hit to date—and possibly, ever. The band was captivating in their own right. They had been for the night in its entirety, transporting the audience to spaces only the imagination can reach with the technology we currently have available. Rather than ending the track at its usual stopping point, Gambino gave the song a secondary outro. This came with more swells, more layers, more intention. His falsetto hit its zenith, making for a closing act that will live in the minds and hearts of the audience long after the name Childish Gambino fades happily into retirement.

End Credits

After a brief end credits scene played on the screens, Gambino had only one more question to ask: “Lithonia?” The crowd roared at the word appearing before them, urging on an encore. In what was possibly the most stunning visual of the entire show, Gambino’s shadow sauntered onto the screen, seemingly displaced in an alternate dimension. He returned to the stage to inform the audience all about Cody LeRae’s newfound awareness and discoveries—the most poignant and enlightening of them all being that “Nobody Gives A F**k.”

Though this tour is the end of an incredible career under the moniker Childish Gambino, there is a New World awaiting Donald Glover. One that he’ll terraform as he sees fit. His ability to redefine himself over and over again will now be represented in name. However, there is no telling where Donald Glover will go from here. One thing is for sure, though: Cody LaRae believes nobody gives a f**k, but that couldn’t be less true. We do.

The North American leg of Childish Gambino’s Bando Stone and The New World Tour will continue after a brief health break.

Eminem Goes Scorched Earth On Diddy In New Diss Remix

Eminem’s new Expanded Mourner’s Edition of his 2024 album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) doesn’t just contain two new tracks. It also boasts a slightly altered remix of the previously JID-assisted “Fuel,” now featuring Shady Records signees GRIP and WESTSIDE BOOGIE. On it, the Detroit rapper takes more scathing shots against Diddy. “The Notorious B.I.G.’s death was the domino effects of Tupac’s murder,” he raps on his new verse. “Like facial tissue, whose card should I clean next? Puff’s? / ‘Til he’s in police handcuffs, guilty, will he step up / Like gee, never turned himself in, who knows all the murders there’s been? / Or me next up, prepare for me to not choose none of my words carefully.

This adds to Eminem’s previous Diddy disses on the same song. “I’m like a R-A-P-E-R / Got so many eses (essays), S-As” he rapped on the original version. “Wait, he didn’t just spell the word ‘rapper’ and leave out a P, did he? / R.I.P., rest in peace Biggie / And ‘Pac, both of y’all should be living / But I ain’t tryna beef with him / ‘Cause he might put a hit on me like ‘Keefe D, get him.’

As far as the Bad Boy mogul, the last update we got on Diddy’s various misconduct allegations was a new sexual abuse lawsuit from Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard. Also, he reportedly lost a $100 million default judgement in a sexual assault case, something that he filed an emergency motion to dismiss over. That’s not even bringing up Keefe D’s current trial for Tupac Shakur’s murder and how his name has been brought up under accusations of murder. All in all, it’s not a very pretty situation. It’s clear that Eminem is doubling down on his strong stance.

Elsewhere, Big Sean recently reflected on working with Eminem on The Death Of Slim Shady after many other collaborations. “I’m happy to be a part of that album as well. For sure, for sure,” Sean told the VMAs red carpet. “It was the first album I bought from Costco with my birthday money. That was way back. To be on The Death of Slim Shady was a full-circle moment.”

Today in Hip Hop History: Notorious B.I.G.’s Debut LP ‘Ready To Die’ Turns 30 Years Old!

Screen Shot at

On September 13, 1994, Notorious B.I.G., alongside producers Easy Mo Bee, DJ Premier, Poke of the Trackmasters, and none other than “Puffy” (as Diddy was called then) as the executive producer, released the Hip Hop masterpiece known as Ready To Die.

As Big’s debut album, this highly anticipated release shows the lyrical prowess of the Bed-Stuy big man, and besides Method Man’s assistance on the epic “The What?” track, Mr. Wallace made it happen all by himself. Other than Nas’ Illmatic, no other solo emcee accomplished that feat on the East Coast during that era. Recognized as “The King Of New York” and as seen on a vintage 1995 Source Magazine cover, Big’s legacy was etched in stone with this LP.

Timeless classics from that four-and-a-half mic-er include the DJ Premier-produced “Unbelievable,” the back-and-forth storytelling adventures of “Warning” and “Gimme The Loot,” and the eerie title track itself were just a few of the highlights of this legendary project. That’s not to forget the mainstream success of singles such as “One More Chance,” the Brooklynplayalistic sound of “Big Poppa,” and, of course, the hood inspirational, Mtume-based “Juicy.”

We only had the chance to get one more album(prophetically named Life After Death) out of one of the game’s greatest lyricists before he was prematurely killed in Los Angeles in 1997. Still, this album will always remind us that B.I.G. was “Ready to Die” because his talent was and will always be larger than life.

Salute to Big (RIP), Premier, Easy, Poke, Lord Finesse, Diddy, Lil’ Kim, and the entire Wallace family for this classic masterpiece!

Today in Hip-Hop History: Tupac Shakur Dies After Being Gunned Down on Las Vegas Strip 28 Years Ago

Tupac Shakur Car

Cultural icon Tupac Shakur was then taken to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada hospital after being shot several times in a drive-by on a Las Vegas strip on September 7, 1996, and was under a medically induced coma for six days before dying from internal bleeding on September 13, 1996.

After several failed attempts by doctors to revive 2Pac, his mother Afeni Shakur requested for his life support machine to be turned off. What were the events that transpired the days before the September 7th shooting that caused his early demise and why has the mystery of his death never been solved? These are the questions that remain 28 years later. Chris Carroll, a retired Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sergeant, told Vegas Seven Magazine in an interview last year that we may never know;

“Shakur’s murder is still considered an unsolved homicide and an unsolved homicide case is technically never closed. But nothing more is ever going to happen with it.”

After all the documentaries that have been put out pertaining to Pac’s death, most fans attempt to put the clues together and create their own hypothesis yet without hard evidence it’s still just an educated guess as to what really happened the night of September 7, 1996.

The only real evidence police had until last year was the witness account from Outlaw member E.D.I Mean, who claimed to have seen all four men in the vehicle and Yaki Kadafi, who was involved in a scuffle with officers two days following the shooting after they pulled over a driver he was with and he protested. Officers did not try to locate Kadafi, who was later gunned down in Irving, NJ two months after the shooting.

Compton investigators assembled mug shots of several gang members, which included Orlando Anderson, the Crip that Tupac attacked in the MGM Grand lobby hours before the shooting. Anderson is the suspect said to have fired the fatal shots that killed Pac. Las Vegas police later discounted Anderson as a suspect and interviewed him only once. He was later killed in an unrelated gang shooting.

Last year, it was revealed that Duane “Keefe D” Davis will face charges related to the death of Tupac Shakur after years of claiming he was directly involved, but avoided prosecution with a immunity deal. It seems 2023 was the expiration date of that said deal. Davis is currently behind bars while going to trial for the murder of Shakur and was given a $750K bond to released during trial, but he has yet to make bail despite being offered the money because the judge has yet to approve the financial arrangement.
