Pharrell’s Something In The Water Festival Has Officially Been Postponed Until 2025
If you were holding your breath until Something In The Water 2024’s lineup reveal, you can sadly exhale. Yesterday (September 13), the multi-day festival’s founder Pharrell Williams revealed that this year’s event has officially been postponed.
In a heartfelt note posted to the festival’s Instagram page, the “Double Life” musician revealed that Something In The Water will be pushed back to 2025.
“Dearest Virginia, I love you with all my heart,” he wrote. “Nobody loves you more than I do. Virginia doesn’t deserve better, Virginia deserves THE BEST. So SOMETHING IN THE WATER has to match that. It just isn’t ready yet. That’s why we as a team have decided that we must postpone this year’s SOMETHING IN THE WATER festival that was due to take place in October.”
Since its inception, Something In The Water has faced difficulties from inclement weather the logistical hiccups. However, organizers have managed to tough it out. But to ensure its best possible installment, the team felt it was best to hold off until next year.
To close the note, Pharrell was sure to extend his thanks for the continued support. “I am so grateful to our amazing sponsors and the city for their continued support and trust in us to get this right,” he wrote. “And that time is April 2025.”

While Chrisean’s supporters are certainly happy for the reality star, not everything in her life has been smooth sailing since her release. Earlier this week, she took to Twitter/X to ask her followers for help finding a good rehab facility for her mother Charla. She claimed that Charla has been struggling with addiction, and offered a prayer for her wellbeing. “Mommy you did ya best I love you I’m praying for restoration I love love love you amen amen amen So do anyone know about any great marriage rehabs in DMV pls Dm them !” she wrote in part.
The father of Chrisean’s child, Blueface, is also currently behind bars. Last month, the “Thotiana” rapper was handed a four-year sentence, and he’s since been moved from the Men’s Central Jail in downtown LA to North Kern State Prison in central California. His new mugshot made its rounds online a few weeks back, showcasing what seems to be a fairly drastic physical transformation. The world is still talking about all things Kendrick Lamar and Drake, bolstered by the former’s new song and his Super Bowl halftime show announcement. There are many debates on the table: the supposed existence of a “Round 2,” the Lil Wayne controversy, and the general back-and-forth fanbase war between these two artists. One mediator of sorts with ties to both parties is 50 Cent, who previously seemed to take the 6ix God’s side in all this. But during his recent appearance on The Talk as a special guest, he spoke on all of these aspects and made it clear that he’s got a lot of love on both sides of the aisle.
“I mean, it was a choice,” 50 Cent said of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl slot, which he thinks he fully deserves. “As a solo artist right now, he’s the guy.” In addition, he also stated that he understands why people wanted to see Lil Wayne take the big stage in New Orleans next year. However, Fif proposed that K.Dot should bring out some of his collaborators, hinting that he doesn’t think a Weezy guest spot is out of the question. Of course, Young Money loyalty would probably get in the way of that, but maybe a Drake beef isn’t as big as the Super Bowl.

As for the actual battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, 50 Cent called it “good for the culture.” “Both Drake and Kendrick produced quality music faster because they had to compete with each other,” he posited. “That competitive nature made them go work and have responses. Hip-hop is still – it’s not just a genre where you can just make a song and sit back. You have to make a song and be ready to make a song again right away with other artists.”

Karrahbooo’s departure from Concrete Boys has been nothing short of messy. Shortly after confirming the news, Lil Yachty unleashed a scathing rant about her and his former podcast co-host Mitch. He claimed that he wrote all of her music, accused her of verbal abuse, and slammed her for disrespecting him when he’s “given [her] a career.” Yachty even leaked a reference track for an On The Radar freestyle, which he said he wrote for her.
Karrahbooo was quick to deny his claims and accuse him of bullying her. “Put it on yo kid I ain’t write these songs miles,” she wrote at the time. “Stop bullying me big dawg I never said anything you letting random fans get in yo head man up.” She later said that she’s been “silenced” for three months, though it remains unclear exactly what she meant.

Ahead of Kanye West’s China concert with Ty Dolla $ign for their VULTURES parties (which will be his first in the country in 16 years), he just confused a lot of fans online. Moreover, he posted a picture of him wearing a hoodie with what seems like Chinese on it with the caption “TOLD YOU.” While no one really knows what this means, one can easily assume that this relates to Ye’s concert, possibly to the specifics of how long it took him to return to China. Either way, his die-hards are ready. They gathered outside the Hainan stadium where he’ll perform tomorrow (Sunday, February 15) to play his music.
As you can see in the Twitter post below, other Kanye West fans in China went to great lengths to express their excitement. They traveled with custom luggage honoring him, and a couple of cars were spotted around town that either quote or represent Ye to a certain degree. We’re sure that his travels in the country with his wife Bianca Censori already saw him run into plenty of these excited admirers. Tomorrow night, we’ll see how the listening party turns out.

Wale Builds Momentum With Chaz French Collab “What’s The Play”
Wale is on the horizon of dropping a new album and although we don’t know anything else yet, that’s enough to get us excited. The Washington D.C. rapper has been inching his way back into the limelight as of late with his biggest step being a new tour. In just five days, he will be embarking on a 33-day trek across North America and it’s called Every Blue Moon. The Tour. There’s a chance we could be getting the project within the next couple of months, but no one really knows yet. For now though, Wale has been treating his starving fans with a few singles over the last week and “What’s The Play” is the latest one.
Prior to this, the “Lotus Flower Bomb” artist put out a two-track EP called Ghetto Speak. It consisted of the title track and “Mission Statement”. Both brought some more conscious ideas to the table like the pros and cons of growing up in D.C. Now, with “What’s The Play”, which features Chaz French, Wale is asking himself how he should continue to move. He acknowledges his own absence on the chorus and wonders if he’s still got real supporters still out there.
