Logic Reflects On How His Past Has Shaped Him On “Teleport”

Logic fans will soon be able to finally feast on Ultra 85. After several years in the making, the Maryland product is going to be dropping it this Friday, August 9. With him taking so much time on this quasi sequel to 2017’s Everybody, you would think that the hype would be non-existent. However, it seems that the opposite is quite true. Fans are really digging his flows and production so far, with “Mission Control” perhaps being the favorite of the bunch so far. But, “Teleport”, Logic’s fifth and final teaser, is certainly giving it a run for its money right now.

Throughout his extensive career, he has never shied away from talking about his rough upbringing. “Teleport” is one of those very tracks, as he travels back in time to key moments during his childhood on the fourth verse in particular. Logic recalls not growing up without a male figure in his household, having little money, being molested, struggling to stay in school, as well as his family’s run-ins with law. However, he ends off “Teleport” on a positive note as he recalls all of his biggest accomplishments like starting a family and becoming a major success story in hip-hop. Logic is making a great impression right now and it feels like the anticipation for Ultra 85 is at its peak.

Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice became a beloved and fitting duo thanks to their collaborative run in 2023, but things didn’t take long to become a bit more complicated. Moreover, you likely remember that the latter seemed to disparage the former in a series of leaked tweets, and Spice later spoke on how she and Minaj aren’t the closest, but still have a good working relationship and have no issues with each other. Some Barbz, though, are reading quite deeply into their Queen’s latest Instagram post. Specifically, they noted how she liked some of the comments that other celebrities such as Sexyy Red and Akbar V left for her… but not her “Princess Diana” collaborator’s comments.

“17 years ago [ribbon emoji],” Nicki Minaj captioned the throwback Instagram post in question. “Crimped my own hair [tick emoji] Did my own makeup [tick emoji] 2 padded bras to make my boobs look bigger [tick emoji] Barbz!!!!” As for Ice Spice’s comment (which was a heart-eyes emoji), it’s actually no longer visible on the post, so she either deleted it or Nicki herself took it down. Still, fans had already noticed this and spread it like wildfire online, but it’s probably a massive reach. After all, they’re still following each other and it’s probably very easy for Roman to miss an IG comment or two because of how active and engaged-with her page is.

Akbar V Reveals Just How Much She Dislikes Cardi B

Akbar V is someone who has always been incredibly honest about her allegiances. Overall, she has always shown herself to be a massive Nicki Minaj stan. Having said that, one could probably make the deduction that she is not particularly fond of Cardi B. Although Cardi is one of the biggest women rappers out, there are certainly other women MCs out there who do not care for the Bronx artist. Recently, Akbar V was on the “Aunt-Tea” Podcast, where she let her distaste for Cardi be known.

In the clip down below, Tokyo Toni asks Akbar V if she would ever consider doing a collaboration with Cardi. Subsequently, the MC immediately shut down any sort of collab talk. She noted how she doesn’t rock with Cardi, which led to a quick turnaround from Tia Kemp. Kemp asked why can’t they get along, and Akbar was not having any of it. As she noted, the men are never asked to get along with one another like the women are.

As for fans online, some felt like Akbar V was getting too ahead of herself. “You can’t even get a single to pop on the radio , OF COURSE Cardi would never work with you !!!” one person wrote. “Cardi B would NEVA EVEN ask that so it would never happen anyways,” said another. Needless to say, fans were not feeling Akbar’s comments. Regardless, the MC has confidence in herself, which is really all that should matter.

The Source Magazine Remembers The Beastie Boys’ MCA On His 60th Birthday

It has been twelve years since the passing of Beastie Boys founding member Adam Yauch aka MCA, but his legacy stands as a testament to why he should be recognized on his born day.

This year marks the twelfth anniversary of the passing of the Beastie Boys co-founder, who passed on May 4th, 2012 after a three-year battle with cancer at the age of 47. Just weeks prior to his death, the inventive style he and the crew became known for was immortalized in the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Yauch would’ve been 60 years old today.

Yauch was only 22 when the Beastie Boys released their debut album Licensed To Ill and he directed many of the videos for it. After the Beastie Boys found success in all levels of music, from Hip Hop to punk and metal fans alike, Adam took on many projects in the creative spectrum: first building state of the art recording studio in New York City, and then establishing an independent film company, thus directing several acclaimed movies.

Every year, Yauch is celebrated in his hometown of NYC with “MCA Day”, a dedication to the contributions of MCA to Hip Hop and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Over a month ago, dating rumors were sparked between these two drill rappers after a handful of social media posts. However, after learning more about their relationship, the belief was that it was a result of Cench cheating. The UK artist’s now ex-girlfriend, social media influencer Madeline Argy, has claimed to be totally blindsided throughout this development. After she was played lyrics, possibly from Spice and Cee’s collab “Did It First”, she began to piece things together. While Spice has confirmed that it was more of a PR stunt, Argy was fed up with Cee for hiding all of this information from him.

Snoop Dogg has been all over the 2024 Paris Olympics on NBC. NBC made Snoop a special correspondent for the Olympics after a successful run during the 2021 Games in Tokyo. According to Henry McNamara on X, they’re paying him $500K per day and covering his expenses as well. Considering Snoop’s lifestyle, those expenses won’t be low, either. It speaks to how highly NBC thinks of the 52-year-old that he has gotten this kind of deal.

Since arriving in Paris, Snoop Dogg has been all over the country. He was one of the final torchbearers of the Olympics, carrying the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis alongside Pharrell Williams. After that, fans have seen Snoop Dogg all over the place at the Olympics. Fans have seen him at gymnastics, basketball, swimming, equestrian, and everywhere else. He has shown especially enthusiastic support for American athletes. During many of his appearances around the country, Snoop often wears shirts of American Olympians, past and present. If McNamara’s story is accurate, none of those appearances have come cheap for NBC.

This is not the first time that Snoop has covered the Summer Olympics. Snoop worked as a correspondent during the Tokyo games in 2021, an event marred by the COVID-19 pandemic. Snoop and Kevin Hart co-hosted Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg, and the series performed well. It was thanks, in part, to that success, that NBC gave him a special correspondent role in Paris. Hart is also back in the fold this year, hosting the highlights show with Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson.

The 2028 Summer Olympics are taking place in Los Angeles. It would be surprising if NBC did not bring him back for his third straight Olympic Games. Snoop Dogg was born and raised in Long Beach, which is about 40 minutes away from Los Angeles. It would be a homecoming for the legendary rapper-turned-TV personality, one that Snoop will be unlikely to miss out on. For now, fans can enjoy his many appearances around Paris during what has been an extraordinary few weeks of high-level competition. The 2024 Olympic Games conclude on August 11.
