Former Kanye West guard Benjamin Deshon Provo has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, alleging unfair termination and discrimination against Black workers. Provo, who worked for West at various locations, including his private school Donda Academy and a Yeezy brand apparel warehouse, claims that he was subjected to discriminatory treatment and ultimately dismissed for refusing to trim his dreadlocks, which he wore as a symbol of his Muslim faith.
According to the lawsuit reported by People, Provo outlines instances of unfair treatment, wage disparities, and pressure to conform to West’s demands. He alleges that West frequently screamed at and berated Black employees, while White employees were treated differently. Provo’s direct manager, John Hicks, reportedly told him not to discuss money with West, leading to a decrease in his paychecks after raising concerns about wage gaps.
Kanye West faces a racial discrimination lawsuit, accused of forcing Black employees to choose between “cutting” their dreads or “be fired” and giving them “less favorable treatment than their White counterparts.”
Provo claims that West and Hicks pressured him to shave his head, with West allegedly becoming increasingly aggressive about the demand. Despite voicing his concerns about unfair treatment, Provo was met with dismissive responses and eventually terminated for defying West’s requests.
The lawsuit filed by Phillips also accuses West of suggesting building a jail on the school grounds, where students would be kept in cages. Phillips claims that his pushback against West’s bigotry and unlawful instructions made him a target for further harassment and ultimately led to a vulgar lashing in front of students and parents.
Three years after their public split, comedian Tiffany Haddish is opening up about her past relationship with rapper Common and shedding light on his dating patterns. In a recent interview with People Magazine, Haddish shared intriguing details about her celibate lifestyle and observations regarding Common’s romantic cycle.
According to Haddish, Common pursued her persistently for two years before they officially began dating in 2020. Despite seeming happy during their year-long romance, the couple quietly parted ways in August 2021, with Common reportedly indicating that their relationship had run its course.
Reflecting on her ex’s dating history, Haddish noted a distinctive pattern. She revealed that Common follows a two-year cycle, alternating between periods of being single for six to nine months and being in a relationship for two years. While this cycle may have contributed to their breakup, Haddish expressed understanding, stating, “I ain’t mad at that.”
Haddish also gave insight into her current celibate lifestyle, remarking on how men tend to pursue her more fervently when they discover she is not engaging in sexual activity. She described their efforts, including lavish gestures and declarations of love, which sometimes catch her off guard.

Stephen A Smith says he was so appalled by Russell Westbrook’s behavior during Game 3 between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers that he called the NBA’s league office to figure out why he wasn’t suspended. Appearing on ESPN on Sunday to discuss the series, Smith revealed that he found Westbrook’s actions “inexcusable.” The star guard got into an altercation with Luka Doncic and P.J. Washington and was ejected. With Westbrook returning to the floor, the Clippers ended up taking Game 4 on Sunday by a score of 116-111.
“I called the league office and I said, ‘I need an explanation. Tell me why Russell Westbrook wasn’t suspended?’” Smith said. “Inexcusable behavior, that’s what I saw, and I don’t know why this isn’t being talked about enough, to be quite honest with you. I was of the mindset that Russell Westbrook deserved to be suspended for today’s game. That’s how appalling his game was.”
After the segment, many fans on social media accused Smith of snitching with his decision to call the league office. Among those to do so included Gillie da King, who shared a video of himself reacting to Smith’s admission on Instagram. Metro Boomin, Kendrick Perkins, as well as Damian Lillard, and more celebrities commented on the post. Smith eventually addressed the backlash in a tweet on Sunday night. He wrote: “I said it. And I damn sure meant it because of his play on Friday. Knowing the league office would’ve normally suspended anyone for this, I called to ask why this was different. They explained& I get it. For those tripping that I called the league, it’s my damn job. All of us…”

Coi Leray says she thinks music labels are running fan pages that instigate drama between female hip-hop artists on social media. She explained on Twitter that she can’t understand why else so many artists would be feuding, despite not even being from the same region. Leray also asked whether it’s the same for artists in other genres.
“Idk if you ask me it seem like these labels are behind the female controversy. They see it helps push the music, I wouldn’t be surprised if they the ones behind the fan pages,” she wrote in one post. “Most of these female rappers not even from the same places !!!! Not from the same hoods….why are we beefing?” From there, Leray asked: “Do female pop stars have just as much beef as the female rappers?” When one fan put forth the idea of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga beefing, Leray responded: “I can’t. I just can’t.”
Despite the innumerable amount of feuds going on in hip-hop right now, Leray recently told Forbes that she’s focused on becoming the best version of herself she can be. “I have great intentions,” she told the outlet in March. “And I know that at the end of the day, if I just pushed myself to focus on becoming a better me whether it’s in my tone, my delivery, my attitude, my routine of waking up in the morning, waking up earlier, going to church every Sunday, writing in my journal, that’s how I got to this place now.”
Coi Leray Speaks On Female Rap Beefs
The following day on Twitter, Leray also teased the direction of her next song. “This next song im releasing is about a girl named Coi who let liquor and weed heal her traumas. Shot after shot,” she wrote. “She just going on and on and on .. can’t wait till you hear it.” Leray also dropped a new single, “Can’t Come Back,” on Friday. Meek Mill spoke out on Joel Embiid and Philadelphia fans after the 76ers lost in Game 4 of their playoff series against the New York Knicks on Sunday. Embiid had admitted he was disappointed when away fans made more noise at the Wells Fargo Center than home fans during the loss. In turn, hometown rapper Meek Mill threatened to come to New York for Game 5 to show Knicks fans the same treatment.
“How people acting like they turning on Joel,” Meek wrote in his post. “Trust the process wins and losses. I’m coming to next knicks game we gotta rep like they did that whole arena was half knicks fans … let’s play our part no blame game get you to a chip!”
During Game 4, Knicks fans erupted in MVP chants whenever Jalen Brunson made a shot, especially towards the end of the game. During the fourth quarter, Embiid scored just 1 point on 0-for-5 shooting. “I love our fans,” he said after the game. “I think it’s unfortunate. I’m not calling them out, but it is disappointing. Obviously, you got a lot of Knicks fans. They’re down the road. But I’ve never seen it (like that), and I’ve been here for 10 years. It kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. I don’t think that should happen.” Sixers guard Tyrese Maxey also noticed how loud the Knicks fans were, but clarified, “our crowd did a great job.”
