Joe Budden is known for having some very heated conversations on his podcast. Overall, he doesn’t mind disagreeing with people. Moreover, when he does engage in these disagreements, he can get extremely animated. This doesn’t always go well for him as the internet will say he is being emotional. Additionally, he has definitely upset former co-hosts of his podcast, such as Rory & Mal. Either way, Joe continues to do as he does, and no one is going to stop him.
In a recent episode of the JBP, Budden and Ish got into it all over again in regard to a situation with a woman. This is not the first time Budden and Ish had spoken on this exact topic. Essentially, Ish had been with a woman and then later on, Joe had kissed her. Joe had said this is something he would never do, although Ish had receipts and it led to a huge argument. Well, in this recent episode, the situation was brought up and Joe exploded into a rage. He even had to get up to cool off. Subsequently, he is being turned into a meme.
Fans took to social media where they shared the specific clip of Joe getting angry, all while adding their own captions to it. In fact, Sexyy Red was one of the many people who decided to join in on the fun. She shared the video and captioned it “‘I ain’t spending on da girl I like.’” Many others shared similar captions, and the video is still making the rounds on Twitter. It is certainly not the first time that Joe has been turned into a meme, and it definitely will not be the last.
Hopefully, Joe and Ish can continue to be cool with one another after all of this. Let us know what you think of the Joe Budden Podcast, in the comments section below. Fans of Megan Thee Stallion are no doubt aware of the fact that the prolific femcee has a number of nicknames and alter egos. One of her most popular alternative titles is Tina Snow, a name which she shares with her 10-track 2018 EP. Meg’s favorite rapper of all time, Pimp C, is the origin of the nickname, which many fans may not know. In fact, her admiration for the “Int’l Players Anthem” rapper significantly influences much of the Houston native’s sound and style, highlighting Pimp C’s impact on the genre today. Here’s a look into how exactly Megan coined the name Tina Snow, and what the esoteric title means to her brand.
Before his untimely death in 2007, Pimp C utilized a number of monikers in his music, just like Megan Thee Stallion. His inventive use of the title Tony Snow ultimately inspired Meg to gender-swap the nickname to Tina Snow for her own use. Throughout Pimp C’s discography, he commonly referred to himself as Tony Snow, often using the nickname as an alter ego to refer to the habit of selling cocaine, or “snow.” The motif of selling cocaine also doubles as a metaphor for pushing “dope” music to the masses.
The first name Tony was likely chosen due to a number of popular crime figures throughout both true history and fiction, including Tony Montana and Tony Soprano. As Tony Snow, Pimp C would approach the mic with a cool, laid-back style which inspired Megan from a young age. Once the “Hiss” rapper began pursuing music as a career path, she knew she needed to pay homage to her favorite performer, taking on her own iteration of the Tony Snow name.
Megan Gender-Flipped The Nickname To Inspire Other Women
During interviews, Megan Thee Stallion has explained that she picked up the alter ego of Tina Snow both to pay homage to Pimp C and also to inspire other femcees to rap with the cool confident swag often reserved for upper-echelon rappers. Being that she hails from Houston, the same hometown as the legendary UGK rapper, Megan felt that it was her place to carry the torch left behind by Pimp C and inspire a new generation of forward-thinking hip-hop listeners.
When rapping under the title Tina Snow, Megan Thee Stallion delivers more aggressive and street-wise lyrics in a smooth, laid-back gangster flow. While the character of “Megan” may prioritize higher academic learning and getting good grades, Tina Snow is solely focused on hustling and getting money. Meg even appeared as the character Tina Snow in a 2022 episode of the Starz series P-Valley.
Megan Has Several Other Nicknames And Alter Egos As Well
In addition to her Tina Snow moniker, Megan Thee Stallion has also formed several other nicknames throughout her years behind the mic. Some of her other nicknames are self-explanatory, such as Hot Girl Meg, while others also have deep-rooted backstories like the Tina Snow title. Other common nicknames utilized by the prolific female rapper include Suga, Htown Hottie, and simply Megan.
The Tina Snow name clearly holds a special place in Meg’s heart, however, as she uses the title for her social media handles. Ironically, many modern hip-hop heads probably know the Tina Snow title better than they know Pimp C’s discography, proving that Megan has propelled the title and sound of Houston to new heights with her massive catalog of hit tracks.
Overall, we have had a fantastic start to the year as it pertains to new albums and new songs. Some of the biggest artists in the game have been dropping, and it is a stark contrast to last year. Although 2023 certainly had some great releases, some fans felt it was a down year. However, we are starting strong in 2024, and that is all that matters. Having said that, we are taking a look at some of the best rap albums and songs of the past month.
21 Savage – American Dream
Firstly, we have 21 Savage and American Dream. Once again, 21 finds himself getting personal with us on a solo album. From the jump, he hits us with some scintillating bars and the production to match. Although the album may be bloated towards the end, we get enough bangers like “redrum” to keep us coming back. If anything, this album officially put the 21 doubters out of their misery.
Boldy James & Nicholas Craven – Penalty Of Leadership
Subsequently, we have Boldy James and Nicholas Craven who gave us an early AOTY contender, Penalty Of Leadership. This is easily one of the best rap albums we heard last month. From the sampling to the storytelling and introspection, this album is a feat to behold. We’re sure Boldy will be dropping more music this year, and we cannot wait to hear what he has in store. As for Craven, he continues to prove himself as an immense talent.
Xaviersobased – Keep It Goin Xav
Xaviersobased is an artist who has certainly been able to navigate the internet world with ease. He is a king of the contemporary underground, and continues to forge new sounds within the New York hip-hop scene. On Keep It Goin Xav, the artist showcases just how strong of a songwriter he is. From wavy and hypnotic production to silky flows, Xaviersobased keeps you wanting more. While some may enjoy more traditional forms of rap, this album is still worth a listen.
R.A.P. Ferreira & Fumitake Tamura – the First Fist to Make Contact When We Dap
Another great album from this past month is R.A.P. Ferreira and Fumitake Tamura’s The First Fist to Make Contact When We Dap. Once again, R.A.P. Ferreira delivers a project worthy of your attention. The bars, the production, and everything in between is on point. If you are a fan of this style of rap, then you should absolutely stop what you’re doing and give it some attention.
Benny The Butcher is an artist who is consistently found on best rap albums lists and for good reason. Overall, the Buffalo artist is extremely consistent. On Everybody Can’t Go, delivers tracks produced by Alchemist and Hit-Boy. Overall, this makes for a captivating listen. While some have proclaimed that it is not their favorite Benny project, it is still incredibly strong and worthy of inclusion on this list.
Transitioning over to songs now, we have Ice Spice with “Think U The Shit (Fart).” Okay okay. We know. That opening bar is a bit of a meme. However, the overall song is actually extremely catchy. Moreover, once the hi-hats hit in the middle of the track, it really catches its stride. If you like fun, then you will definitely enjoy this cut.
Playboi Carti – “EVILJ0RDAN”
What more can be said about Playboi Carti and his recent rollout? There has been so much good music dropping, it is easy to forget that one of the best and most reclusive artists in rap has a new album coming. As for his most recent single “EVILJ0RDAN,” it lives up to its name. The production is straight-up demonic, and Carti is coming with a new sound that is quite promising. Hopefully, the album lives up to the hype.
Maxo Kream – “Bang The Bus”
Maxo Kream and Evilgiane teamed up for “Bang The Bus,” a truly captivating song with a Frou Frou sample that may take you by surprise. That said, Maxo is known for his bangers, as well as his incredible flow and voice. That is no different on this new track, which is a must-listen. Hopefully, Evilgiane continues to get the credit he deserves as it pertains to being a producer who is creating new sounds.
Young Miko – “Bzrp Music Sessions”
Young Miko is a Puerto Rican artist who has been showcasing immense talent over the last few years. Her sound is nothing short of amazing, and her BZRP Music Sessions collaboration is something that has been on repeat. The way she weaves in and out of the hook and verse is a marvel to behold. She is certainly not a new phenom, but she is one American audiences need to pay attention to.
SiR – “No Evil”
It had been a while since we had heard any new music from SiR. Now, he is back, and we are thanking our lucky stars for that. On “No Evil,” SiR embodies the spirit of D’Angelo, all while delivering some of his best vocals to date. Oh, and the instrumental will have you shook and coming back for more. What are you waiting for? Give the song a list, right now.
Anycia & Latto – “Back Outside”
Anycia is an artist who continues to showcase her raw talent. She got a massive co-sign from Veeze, who had an incredible 2023. This past month, she came through with “Back Outside” which features Latto. The flows, the beat, and the charisma jumps out at you and it is impossible to not be intrigued. Moving forward, we cannot wait to hear more from her.
21 Savage – “redrum”
We couldn’t deliver a best songs of January list without including 21 Savage’s track “redrum.” Overall, this is a pure banger that does a great job of making a statement on American Dream. If you like Savage and his flows, then this is going to be a song you will gravitate to. It doesn’t get more straightforward than this.
Lastly, we have the song that has pretty much set off an entire firestorm on social media. Of course, we are talking about “Hiss.” The song features Megan Thee Stallion at her best lyrically. Yes, she is taking shots at Nicki and a host of others. However, beyond that, this is a banger. It shows that Meg is back, and we could not be more grateful.

Alec Baldwin has pled not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in New Mexico. Baldwin’s plea comes after a grand jury chose to indict Baldwin over the death of a cinematographer on the set of the Western film Rust, for which Baldwin is also a producer. The grand jury chose to indict Baldwin on similar charges to ones that prosecutors initially dropped in April of last year.
The renewed indictment stems from a new gun analysis that was presented to the grand jury in Santa Fe. Baldwin has claimed that he pulled back the hammer on the replica firearm but did not pull the trigger. Baldwin will remain free pending trial but is prohibited from owning firearms, consuming alcohol, and leaving the country. He is also allowed limited contact with other members of the Rust set for the purposes of promotion. A date for Baldwin’s trial is yet to be set.
Rust finished filming in May 2023, with Baldwin returning to set to finish his scenes. The film, which is working on a budget of $8 million, does not have a release date. The break in production caused several recastings, with Jensen Ackles and Brady Noon both leaving the production due to scheduling conflicts. The film follows Baldwin as a grizzled outlaw who must attempt to save his grandson from a blood-thirsty US Marshal.
However, the shooting incident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was not the only incident on set. A few weeks after Hutchins was killed, a rigger was bitten by a spider and needed numerous surgeries to avoid an arm amputation. Furthermore, multiple reports about lapses in on-site safety were reportedly raised and ignored by supervisors. The on-set armorer has been charged and is awaiting trial in the case. Meanwhile, another charged individual took a plea deal earlier this year. Baldwin, who is also a producer on the film, has maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings.
Karlissa Saffold has been in the news for a plethora of reasons as of late. Overall, Blueface’s mom has frequently commented on issues involving her boy. Moreover, she likes to comment on pop culture as a whole. This has subsequently led to some viral clips that will end up making the rounds on social media. Although not everyone is a fan of what she has to say, many look to her, especially whenever Blue finds himself in some sort of drama. Right now, that has definitely been the case.
Chrisean Rock recently got a tattoo of Blueface on her cheek. Moreover, she has been accused of giving her baby Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. She even had an IG Live where she wished death upon Karlissa Saffold. Needless to say, there is a lot going on as it pertains to Blueface and his love life. Well, TMZ caught up with Saffold recently. In fact, Saffold was trying to visit Blueface in jail at the time, although she was unsuccessful.
During her conversation with TMZ, Saffold made it clear that she disapproves of Chrisean moving back into Blue’s home. She says Chrisean is no good for the rapper and that she needs to seek help and get psychological help. However, Saffold is interested in being a caretaker for Chrisean Jr. as she is the boy’s grandmother. As for Blueface, Saffold is devastated that he is jail, and she is hopeful that he will be able to come home sooner rather than later. For now, the rapper is set to come home in July. However, there have been few updates on his jail status and what could be in store over the coming months.
Only time will tell whether or not Chrisean Rock takes any of this to heart. If there is one thing for certain, however, it is that a lot of people are expressing concern. Let us know your thoughts on all of this, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Travis Kelce has corroborated the origin story of his relationship with Taylor Swift that Swift told TIME late last year. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Kelce confirmed that they had been seeing each other for around a month before Swift’s appearance at a Chiefs game in September. However, Kelce also revealed that he had “put the ball in her court” a few days before the game. While he was aware she had already plans to attend, he made things official by explicitly asking her if she would like to attend. “It’s been a crazy, crazy ride I could have never anticipated, man, but I’m having fun with it,” Kelce told the ESPN host.
However, as mentioned, Kelce did not say anything fans didn’t already know. Swift was the first to break the silence on how their relationship began. “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew. Which, I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” Swift told TIME.
Meanwhile, Kelce also used his appearance on McAfee’s show to address speculation as to whether he would be Swift’s date to the Grammys this weekend. “I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for. Unfortunately, I’ve got to get ready for this big ol’ Super Bowl we got in a week,” Kelce told McAfee. Swift is up for six awards. This includes “Album of the Year”, an award that Swift could become the first four-time winner of.
However, as Kelce alluded to, he will be unable to attend as the Chiefs prepare to face the 49ers in the Super Bowl on February 11. Conversely, Swift will be unlikely to attend the Super Bowl in Vegas. She is scheduled to perform in Tokyo from February 7 – 10. However, following the game, the couple is expected to reunite. Furthermore, Kelce is expected to join Swift across the Asian and European legs of her Eras Tour.
On this date in 1994, crew members Wyclef Jean, Pras, and a young, talented Lauryn Hill otherwise known as The Fugees formulated their first album entitled Blunted On Reality on Hip Hop indie imprint Ruffhouse Records.
Not as familiar to Hip Hop heads as their follow-up smash sophomore album The Score, Blunted On Reality did not receive the commercial success their first go around, yielding only 12,000 copies sold in the first two years. After the release of The Score, that number jumped to 125K.
With Clef’s hands in every aspect of production, there were very few times when the Haitian national wasn’t behind the boards during the production of this album. Other producers include Salaam Remi, Brand X, Khallis Bayyan and even Pras.
Salute to the trio for bringing us this slept on classic!
Kanye West has been much more visible than usual as of late. Overall, there is a pretty good reason for this. He is currently in the midst of a rollout for his new album Vultures. Although he might not be the most loved artist right now, there are still fans who care about his next move. So much so that people have been going to great lengths for information on this project. For now, we know the tracklist and we know that Volume 1 will come out on February 9th. Ultimately, that is good enough news for some.
Last night, Ye had himself a great time as he got to perform at Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus tour. Travis had a stop in Orlando, and he made the most of it by inviting Ye and Ty Dolla Sign. In the end, Kanye took to the stage and fans went absolutely wild for it. It was here that he promised to drop Volume 1 on time. Moreover, he performed a total of six tracks for the crowd. This was a nice little EP’s worth of music, and he encapsulated a few eras with this setlist.
For instance, he performed “Runaway,” “Fade,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Vultures,” “All Of The Lights,” and “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1.” This performance drew from four different Ye albums from very different times in his discography. Needless to say, it was a treat for all of the fans in attendance. Ye performances are pretty rare these days, so this was all pretty shocking to the crowd. Either way, it was well-received, and it was yet another instance of the artist supporting his mentee, Travis Scott.
Let us know if you are excited for Vultures, in the comments section below. Also, which of the songs that Kanye performed last night are your favorites from him? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming releases.
