A New Lil Yachty Song Has Sparked The Ire Of Megan Thee Stallion Fans For Making Her Shooting A Punchline

Lil Yachty’s association with Michigan’s underground rap scene has been a gift to his rap reputation, but lately, it seems like it’s starting to become a curse. The penchant of rappers like BabyTron and Sada Baby to spit completely unhinged, utterly reckless punchlines has beld into Yachty’s own approach to rap, but thanks to his higher profile, it’s gotten him into hot water.

First, there was his reference to Billie Eilish’s breasts in his verse for Drake’s “Another Late Night.” While she laughed it off, he’s now catching heat for cosigning a rapper fans think dissed Megan Thee Stallion.

In a new song called “Sydney,” Yachty teams up with a burgeoning Brooklyn rapper named DONTKALLMELUXXY to flex raps over a sped-up version of Beanie Sigel’s 2005 single “Feel It In The Air.” The newer rapper courts controversy with his verse, threatening, “Better watch where you step or get treated like Megan Thee Stallion,” a clear reference to the July 2020 shooting of the Houston rapper by Toronto rapper Tory Lanez, who opened fire at Meg’s feet after an argument, leaving bullet fragments in her heels and leading to three long years of legal entanglements and harrassment for the “Savage” rapper.

Fans are naturally fairly turned off by this turn of phrase, responding with disappointment and anger on Twitter (not X).

Megan’s fans similarly came to her defense when Drake similarly referenced the shooting for a groaner of a punchline on his own For All The Dogs cut, “Circo Loco.” The line drew the ire of Megan herself, who at first defended the star, then snapped upon realizing just what the line said. “Stop using my shooting for clout b*tch ass N****s!” she wrote. “Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You n****s especially RAP N****S ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her.”

In any case, considering DONTKALLMELUXXY only has 539 subcribers on YouTube and less than 4,000 on Spotify, we can probably just assume that all this was just a bid for attention. Therefore, the best response is to probably ignore him and let him remain obscure. As for Yachty, let’s hope he’s a bit more judicious with his cosign in the future, because this wasn’t worth it.

Chrisean Rock Responds To Backlash For Eating With Communal Serving Spoon

Chrisean Rock is certainly no stranger to controversy, but it looks like even the Baddies star’s eating habits have earned her some backlash in recent days. Earlier this week, a clip of the mother of one eating from what appears to be a serving spoon at an event started making its rounds online. The clip had social media users disgusted, to say the least.

While some were concerned with her manners, others were simply blown away by the fact that she ate from the serving spoon, and even put it back into the communal tray of food. According to her, however, the whole thing was nothing but a skit. She took to Instagram Live today to respond to the backlash, insisting insisted that users are misinterpreting the clip.

Chrisean Rock Claims It Was All A Skit

“It’s a skit, me acting like the food is really good,” she begins in a new clip. “Which it really was good, but you know, you see how fast that clip went around? Me eating in that tray like that? That was the point, to eat it like that.” Chrisean also says that she gave the man serving the food a tip after the stunt. Unfortunately, however, social media users don’t appear to be buying it. Countless critics are claiming that she’s lying about the clip being a skit, and bringing up past clips of her eating.

“That’s wasn’t no damn skit, that man looked genuinely disgusted,” one commenter claims. “It’s not acting like the food is good that got us it’s the eating out the spoon he uses to serve the food to other people,” another notes. What do you think of Chrisean Rock claiming that she only ate from a serving spoon as part of a skit? Do you think she’s telling the truth? Max Cancels “Rap Sh!t” After Two Seasons

The Issa Rae-created comedy series Rap Sh!t has been officially canceled by Max after two seasons. “We are extremely grateful to Issa Rae for creating Rap Sh!t, a one-of-a-kind comedy with compelling social commentary that reached viewers in a way only Issa’s talents can accomplish. A huge thank you to Issa, showrunner Syreeta Singleton and the teams at Hoorae and 3 Arts Entertainment for introducing us to Shawna and Mia. They are a duo whose journey fans have been invested in and who they have continued to root for through everything. We’ll never get Seduce and Scheme out of our heads. We wouldn’t have it any other way,” A Max spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

The show followed two aspiring rappers, played by Aida Osman and KaMillion, as they navigated the intersection of life and their burgeoning music careers. The show has a 100% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, audience scores dropped for the show’s second season, whose release was delayed by the SAG-AFTRA strike last year. Under the rules of the strike, the cast and crew were also unable to promote the show ahead of its second season.

Rap Sh!t Latest Max Show To Get Axed

However, Rap Sh!t is just the latest show that Max has canceled this month. Earlier in January, Max also announced the cancelation of Julia, the series inspired by the life of legendary chef Julia Childs. Meanwhile, the platform also declined to renew Out Flag Means Death, the gay pirate drama spearheaded by Taika Waititi. Elsewhere, Max did renew Bookie, the latest series from Chuck Lorre for a second season.

Furthermore, the cancelations come amid an uncertain time for Max and its parent company – Warner Bros. Discovery. In December 2023, it was announced that talks were underway for Warner Bros. to acquire Paramount Global. This would likely see Paramount Plus folded into Max. However, these talks are in the very early stages and could inevitably go nowhere. Despite this, it means little for the cast and crew of the shows that will not continue onto another season.

6ix9ine’s lawyer has assured his fans that every possible step is being taken to secure the controversial artist’s freedom. He was unexpectedly arrested in the Dominican Republic earlier this week. “We trust in God that the truth will prevail, that justice will be done, and Mr. Hernandez will obtain his freedom. We appreciate your concern, prayers, and good wishes 🙏🏽,” @elgordoylaflaca wrote in an Instagram post. In the same caption, he explained that 6ix9ine was taken into police custody at 6:52 PM, after attending a 5 PM meeting with his ex, Yailin, to clarify any misinformation.

The couple ended 2023 on a tough note, with the “GOOBA” hitmaker confirming their split while alleging the young entertainer of struggling with mental health issues. “Yailin is not well, she needs help. Yailin was loved, she was cared for. I’m on probation, I would never lay my hands on a woman, I’m not here to create gossip. I’m here to clear my name and ask that this matter be dealt with responsibly,” he posted in mid-December. As the confusing situation continues to play out, 6ix9ine’s new mugshot is surfacing on various blogs.

Jaidyn Alexis & Her Rumored New Boo Kiss At The Club While Blueface Is Behind Bars

Blueface recently turned himself in for reportedly violating his parole, but luckily, it doesn’t look like his fiancée is letting it get her down. Jaidyn Alexis recently hopped on Instagram to share a variety of fun photos from a recent night out. Moreover, she posed with who appears to be her current love interest, Josselyn Morris. The photos were flirty enough, but an onlooker also caught them making out at the club. This appears to prove that the “Barbie” performer is unfazed by the father of her kids’ absence.

Countless fans are confused about the current state of Jaidyn and Blueface’s relationship. Others are simply showing support in her comments section. Jaidyn did announce that she was “single” just before Blueface’s arrest, appearing to suggest that their engagement is off, though that remains unconfirmed.

Jaidyn Alexis Hits The Club

Blueface was also spotted alongside the mother of his third child, Chrisean Rock on the day he turned himself in. It’s unclear whether they’re really back on good terms, or were simply together for their son. Either way, the unexpected reunion was sure to prompt some sort of reaction from Jaidyn. Her night out wasn’t all fun and games, however. She was immediately met with backlash from Blueface’s mom, Karlissa Saffold.

She took to Instagram to put Jaidyn on blast, suggesting that she shouldn’t be out partying while her son sits behind bars. “Engaged to be married and out with yo new woman the first week yo man is in jail is exactly why God had to end that journey,” Saffold wrote. What do you think of Jaidyn Alexis finding someone else to kiss while Blueface is behind bars? Do you think she deserves the backlash she’s getting, or are social media users overreacting? DontKallMeLuxxy And Lil Yachty’s “SYDNEY” Makes Controversial Reference To Megan Thee Stallion

Lil Yachty’s relentless run is seemingly never going to end at this point. The eccentric rapper hailing from Georgia arguably has the biggest year in 2023 out of anyone. From dropping his experimental and psychedelic journey that was Let’s Start Here, to working with J. Cole on “The Secret Recipe,” this guy was all over the place. Now, he is back once again with someone who he is familiar with, but not many may know.

DontKallMeLuxxy is also a rapper and he is from Brooklyn, New York. His career is pretty minimal even though he has been dropping since 2017. He has dropped five singles in the past year or so and has one album to his name. That would be Bishop, which dropped right around the time he got his start. As we mentioned, he and Yachty have a history together. Together they dropped a track called “Trance” in 2020.

Listen To “SYDNEY” By DontKallMeLuxxy And Lil Yachty

Now, they are back for a YouTube exclusive track called “SYDNEY.” While it is another big moment for Luxxy, it comes with a caveat. If you are a Megan Thee Stallion fan, you may want to turn away from this one. According to Uproxx, people are bashing the track for the distasteful reference Luxxy makes in regards to the Tory Lanez fiasco. He raps, “That n**** always there better watch where you step get treated like Megan Thee Stallion.” Her supporters were quick to flame him on Twitter, saying, “That Megan Thee Stallion bar was NOT necessary or needed.” Another goes, “Every tongue that rises against Megan Thee Stallion will fall.” It will be interesting to see if she has anything to say about this.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “SYDNEY,” by DontKallMeLuxxy and Lil Yachty? Who had the better performance and why? Is Luxxy’s bar about Megan Thee Stallion uncalled for? Do you think she will/should respond to this? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Yasiin Bey Faces Criticism Online Following Fashion Week Performance

Earlier this month Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, found himself at the center of some online debate. That came after he claimed that the music Drake makes isn’t hip-hop anymore, it’s pop. “Drake is pop to me. In the sense, like, if I was in Target in Houston, and I heard a Drake song. It feels like a lot of his music is compatible with… shopping. Or, as you know, shopping with an edge in certain instances,” the rap legend said during a podcast appearance. The comments sparked tons of debate online over what does and doesn’t count as authentic hip-hop.

The difference between pop rap and so-called “real” rap has been discussed for a few years now. Perhaps most notably, rappers like Kodak Black and Nicki Mina took issue with Latto’s song “Big Energy” being nominated for various rap awards at the Grammys. In a response to Bey’s comments, Drake took to his Instagram story with a clip from an old Method Man interview. In the discussion Method Man implied that rap music is more about the culture and the impact than any specific sound. That sentiment was shared by other rappers, most notably NLE Choppa, who came to Drake’s defense. But a new video of Bey performing has fans bringing up his Drake criticism. Check out the full clip below.

Yasiin Bey Performance Has Fans Calling For Drake

Newly released video of Yasiin Bey performing at a Paris fashion show has fans second-guessing. In the clip, he performs by himself on a small stage singing a new song that admittedly doesn’t sound much like the familiar vision of hip hop. Fans shared the video online calling into question how he could criticize Drake and then deliver the performance he did.

What do you think of Yasiin Bey’s comments about Drake making pop music rather than hip-hop? Did you opinion change after seeing the new video of Bey performing? Let us know in the comment section below.
