Glasses Malone Goes In On Drake, Claims He’s Not Hip-Hop, And Calls Him A “Colonizer”

Glasses Malone is someone who has always said exactly what he thinks. Although his comments have gotten him into trouble at times, he has always stood by his word. However, sometimes, he will get into topics that are going to be controversial based on the sheer size of the subject alone. For instance, on the Holdin’ Court podcast, Malone found himself talking about Drake. Drizzy is a hot topic of debate in music and specifically, hip-hop. For some, he can’t even be classified as a hip-hop artist.

While this is a position that many held about a decade ago, it isn’t as widespread as it once was. However, it seems like Glasses Malone is among the few who still see things through that lens. As you can see below, Malone compared Drake to Madonna. Furthermore, he said Drake cannot be hip-hop as he is not from the streets or urban culture. “Why is it crazy that I’m telling you that Drake is Madonna, as a musician?” the artist exclaimed. “So if you’re not from street urban culture, you’re not a Hip Hop artist.”

Glasses Malone Was Not Complimentary Of Drake

He then went on to talk about Drizzy’s upbringing and how that factors into his opinion. He then went so far as to call the rapper a “colonizer” in the genre. “Drake is a middle class, that grew up in a middle-class community and Jewish community. He just literally does what Madonna does,” Glasses Malone said. “He literally colonizes sounds and ideas. He’s not from the culture. Just because you’re Black, doesn’t mean you’re from the culture.”

Malone’s comments are going to be seen as controversial, and not everyone out there is going to agree. Having said all of that, let us know what you think about what he had to say, in the comments section below. Is Drake really a colonizer in rap? Kai Cenat Prison Stream: Tee Grizzley Knocked Out After Running Into Wall

Things got a little serious on the final day of Kai Cenat’s prison livestream. During a brawl in the cafeteria, rapper Tee Grizzley sustained a head injury after running away from the fight. While retreating, Tee slipped and fell directly into a wall, going limp for several seconds. While he did appear to regain consciousness soon after, it was a pretty scare moment. As he was helped away, people pointed out that there was now a visible hole in the plaster where Tee had hit it. Furthermore, all the roleplaying stopped as people crowded around Tee to make sure he was okay.

Cenat wrapped his 7-day livestream yesterday. The full week of prison-based shenanigans featured a ton of celebrities joining Cenat and the AMP crew for the fun. Did you watch the livestream? What were your thoughts on it? What do you think Cenat’s next big stunt is going to be? Let us know in the comments.

NLE Choppa Gets Weird On Cenat Livestream

However, Tee’s injury wasn’t the first awkward moment for the livestream. In the first few days, there was a slightly uncomfortable moment featuring NLE Choppa. For some people, seemingly Cenat included, felt that Choppa took things a little too far. At one point in the stream, Choppa went full method acting. “Imma f-ck him. I’m not gonna let him play with my booty hole,” Choppa screamed as Cenat watched on in confusion. Later in the stream, Choppa made a big show of “dropping the soap” in the showers. Overall, Choppa got a little into one of the darker sides of the prison experience.

Elsewhere in the stream, the pair performed Nicki Minaj’s Drake collab “Moment 4 Life”. The 2010 hit, which peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100, is about two childhood friends realizing they had “made it”. It’s something of a bizarre choice for a prison livestream but then again, a prison roleplay livestream is bizarre enough in and of itself.

Jeezy Denounces Infidelity On New Song “Don’t Cheat”

Jeezy has had a surprisingly busy week. That began when he announced his new project. It’s a double album called I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget. The album features 29 songs which add up to nearly 90 minutes. One thing it doesn’t have is any features with Jeezy himself handling the entirety of the project. But one song in particular on the long tracklist is already grabbing the attention of fans.

The 13th song on the album is called “Don’t Cheat” and it lives up to that name. On the chorus, he explains why he believes that cheating is improper. “Tell me you gon’ hold it down baby girl ’cause this sh*t ain’t for the weak, Nah, real n*ggas don’t cheat, I be out here getting paper while you sleep, Once again, ’cause real n*ggas don’t cheat,” he says on the chorus. He also takes time on the song to talk about how he’s been the victim of infidelity in the past, which really got fans’ attention. Listen to the entire new song below.

Jeezy Speaks Out Against Cheating

The reason so many fans are honing in on this song comes from another bit story Jeezy has dealt with in 2023. Back in September, he filed divorce from his wife Jeannie Mai. In the petition, he said that his reason for ending the marriage was that it was “irretrievably broken.” The marriage was relatively short-lived with the pair only tying the knot two years ago.

While he’s been cagey about identifying cheating as one of the reasons for the divorce, some fans online jumped to conclusions. For those that were already curious, the new song “Don’t Cheat” feels like a full-on embrace of the talking point. The divorce absolutely shocked fans online. Thought some in the rap world like Joe Budden expressed a lot less shock about the news when it first broke. What do you think of Jeezy taking a stand against cheating on his new album? Let us know in the comment section below.

50 Cent Trolls Keefe D For Public Defender, Urges Diddy To “Throw A Ni**a A Bone”

50 Cent has long had his foot on Diddy’s neck, and now that serious headway is taking place in Tupac’s murder investigation, the Power producer has found even more reasons to troll his contemporary. Of course, the Bad Boy head hasn’t been in police custody in involvement with the case. However, he did have a long-standing feud with the late legendary rapper that’s caused speculation about his potential involvement over the years. Pac’s brother recently confirmed that Diddy once reached out to him to deny any sort of wrongdoing, but still, the rumours persist.

Amid news that Keefe D – who was arrested this fall – has pleaded not guilty to murdering the “All Eyez On Me” hitmaker, we also found out that he’s struggling to afford a lawyer. As a result, the industry executive now has a public defender, which has left Fif feeling tickled pink. “😆 This shit is so funny to me,” the father of two wrote in the caption of a video edited to look like an intense conversation between Keefe and Sean Combs.

“Keefe D getting ready to go on trial for murder with a public defender. D**n throw a 🥷🏾 a bone or something. LOL,” 50 added. “See, I’ma be alright. I got villas in Brazil, Tahiti,” Diddy says in a clip from Get Him To The Greek. “God d**n,” Pac’s alleged killer replies in a snippet taken from an interview. “Throw a dog a bone or something,” Keefe pleads in the spoof above.

Like any good troll, 50 Cent knows that it’s important to keep your targets diversified, which is why he also throws shade at stars outside the world of hip-hop. Madonna has been feeling the New Yorker’s wrath for the past year, most recently having her BBL be the centre of attention on his IG. Nav is an artist who has had a long career in music, although not always as the leading man. For years, he was known as a producer in Toronto. However, in 2016 and 2017, Nav got his big break. J. Cole Said Drake Chose The ‘Song Over Competition’ On ‘First Person Shooter,’ But He Expects Revenge

The 50th anniversary of hip-hop discussions proved how competitive the genre has been throughout the decades. Each emcee is vying for their chance to snatch the attention of the listening audience for the coveted yet ever-elusive crown of the best rapper. The ability to be ranked at the top of any profession is an accolade most would be willing to fight for, including “Passport Bros” rapper J. Cole.

Dreamville’s head honcho has made a habit of calling his peers — hell, even newcomers — out for a light, lyrical sparring match. Fans fueled his inner spark by deeming him the conqueror in a few big-name collaborations. His first career No. 1 record, the Drake collaboration “First Person Shooter,” is one example. According to J. Cole, although Drake ultimately chose the “song over the competition,” he expects revenge from the recording artist soon.

During an appearance on “The Secret Recipe” collaborator Lil Yachty’s podcast A Safe Place, he spoke about the public’s (including Joe Budden) favorable response to his verse.

“At that moment, [Drake] chose the song over the competition and what the public is going to say [about his performance],” Cole said. “Drake ain’t looking at it like, ‘I’m going to take Cole’s f*cking head off at some point.’ Don’t think he ain’t’ looking at it like, ‘Nah, we just gonna make the best song.’ No, he comes from that cloth. So… at some point in time, he going to want his lick back.”

Drake, under pressure, has created bangers in the past (i.e., “Back To Back”). Cole better keep his head on a swivel.
