Lily Rose-Depp Says Nude Shoots On “The Idol” Were “Theraputic”

The Idol has proven to be yet another immensely viral, and deeply controversial, show for HBO. The show follows recovering Jocelyn (Lily Rose-Depp) as she embarks on a torrid romance with self-help influencer and cult leader Tedros (The Weeknd). From the mind of Sam Levinson (creator of Euphoria), the show has refused to shy away from controversial material. Self-harm, revenge porn, drug use, masturbation, and sexual scenes of dubious consent all feature in the show’s first three episodes.

However, the boundary-pushing show has been problematic for many viewers. Critics have argued that the show, despite being from Jocelyn’s central viewpoint, is nothing more than a toxic male power fantasy. Furthermore, others simply take issue with the show’s poor acting and writing. Early viewing figures report that Episode 3 saw another decline, though not as sharp as the drop between Episodes 1 and 2. Despite this, it means that the show is still struggling to retain the viewers it did manage to keep hold of.

Lily Rose-Depp Loved Shooting “The Idol” Nude Scenes

However, Rose-Depp embraced the nude demands of the role. “It’s all me. I love doing that kind of work,” the actress told The Sun. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with enjoying that kind of work. I also think it really speaks to who the character is and who she wants to tell you that she is. She’s a performer through and through, even when she’s alone and just looking in the mirror. Every outfit and every interaction and every piece of nudity and all those things are very intentional and were really important to me.”

She continued. “Maybe this makes me, like, a little twisted. But I feel really good after doing scenes like that because there’s something that feels very therapeutic about it to me — and maybe that’s why I like doing this job. Maybe there’s something wrong with me but it feels very cathartic and I feel very drained of anything that I maybe needed to let go of. Obviously when you go that far emotionally, you have to find it within yourself, it has to come from some place real. Some place inside of you. Even if you’re performing a scene that is completely fictionalised, and you’ve never actually gone through any of that stuff, you have to find it within yourself. But I find that kind of work to be really healing, actually.”

Chris Brown’s Got The “Summer Too Hot” On Today’s “R&B Season” Update

Hip-hop heads were left seriously satisfied with this New Music Friday’s roster of releases. Young Thug’s BUSINESS IS BUSINESS album seems to be leading the way. Of course, we also received a sophomore effort from Coi Leray. In addition to that, we’ve seen a celebratory project from a recently freed Boosie Badazz, and a handful of new singles that we found worthy of our R&B Season playlist update.

The first comes from Chris Brown, who obviously came through on his promise to bring the heat this season. His “Summer Too Hot” single finds the father of three unleashing salacious lines. “Summer too hot not to f**k it up /
Is the mood right? (Ayy) Is it wet enough? / I got a new ride, guess I levelled up / Let me wet it up just a few times,” he sings. As expected, fans of the R&B sensation are already eating the song up, and can’t wait for more from Breezy.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist

Next up we hear from Muni Long, who continues to champion her Grammy Award-winning “Hrs & Hrs” single. This time around, she brought Usher onto the track to vocally float alongside her. On the remix, both artists sensually sing about their undying love. Prior to the track’s official debut on DSPs this weekend, Muni joined the Texas native on stage at his Lovers & Friends festival to perform their version of her 2021 fan favourite.

Our final pick of the day comes from the booked and busy Keyshia Cole, who’s been heavily promoting her new biopic over the past few weeks. Her “Forever Is A Thing” single hit streamers on Friday, and finds the songstress emotionally reflecting on the tumultuous relationship she had with her mother prior to her death, among other things. Fivio Foreign Allegedly Roofied At Paris Night Club

Fivio Foreign caught a speed bump during his good times in France for Paris Fashion Week, or at least that’s what reports of an alleged incident indicated. Moreover, according to TMZ, someone roofied the New York rapper on Saturday night (June 24) at the Parisian club L’Arc, resulting in a heated altercation. Apparently, the accusations of drugging come directly from Fivio, who attributed that to how he acted in the club he performed at. Furthermore, the publication got in contact with his representatives, who did not specify what went down that night. However, we do know that police forces spoke to him that night, and that the incident allegedly spilled outside of the premises.

However, while officers did confront Fivio Foreign, they did not arrest or detain him for the incident. Overall, it sounds like a bit of a scary situation, and the vagueness of reports as of writing this article certainly doesn’t help. At least the MC had other things to celebrate this week to balance out the unfortunate Saturday night. For example, he recently dropped $200K on a luxurious new chain with his name engraved, VVS diamonds, and emeralds.

In other news, the 33-year-old was believed to be the victim of a chain-snatching indecent, although he and his team called these rumors false. Apparently a rapper named Big Pluto took responsibility for the incident when news of it first broke online. However, Fivio Foreign’s friend Loui Paso went on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast to debunk these claims, saying that he has really tight security. As such, he expressed doubts that anyone could even get past them without it being a much bigger and more well-known story, which got confirmed quick. After calling Fivio, he showed the podcast the allegedly stolen chain in question.

Meanwhile, he just released an eight track EP titled Without Warning, which he leads mostly by himself except for a feature from Kanye West on the track “Concussion.” They previously worked together on various songs from West’s Donda, including “Off The Grid.” Hopefully whatever happened in Paris was an isolated incident- and one that doesn’t happen again. Top5 Facing Legal Trouble For Music Video Shot From Jail

Toronto rapper Top5, born Hassan Ali, is currently residing in a Canadian prison on a murder charge. Authorities allege that Top5 murdered accounting student Hashim Omar Hashi in 2020. Furthermore, it is believed that Hashi had been mistaken for the man who had killed Top5’s brother Foolish. While living in Los Angeles, Top5 was arrested and extradited to Canada in 2021. Prosecutors have clarified that Top5 is not being charged as the killer but as a passenger in the vehicle from which Hashi was killed.

However, despite being behind bars, Top5 is still finding ways to get in trouble. On June 24, he released the music video for his new song “21 Questions” featuring G Herbo and 6ixbuzz. Additionally, the video appeared to feature footage of Top5 shot inside the jail. Top5 is seen multiple times dancing and rapping in what appears to be his jail cell. The rest of the video was shot by G Herbo and company outside. Obviously, Canadian authorities were not pleased about this when it was brought to their attention.

Canadian Authorities Launch Investigation Into Top5 Video

The Ontario Solicitor General issued a statement about Top5, after the rapper released the video on June 24. Furthermore, the jail in question appears to be Maplehurst Correctional Complex. “The ministry is aware of an unacceptable incident involving a video posted online that appears to contain images of secure areas of the Maplehurst Correctional Complex,” Hunter Kell, a spokesperson for the Solicitor General, said in a statement.

Furthermore, Kell continued. “Unauthorized photography of any kind is strictly prohibited inside provincial correctional facilities. The ministry has launched a full investigation into this incident and appropriate action will be taken.” However, it’s unclear what “appropriate action” refers to. However, it appears that the Canadian authorities are taking this breach of prison protocol very seriously. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates here at HotNewHipHop. I’m excited for everyone to watch the rest of the show.” The artist continued, “It’s almost educational, that this is what comes with being incredibly famous. Last week, The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Bethenny Frankel came to the show’s defense on TikTok, claiming that The Weeknd’s depiction of a toxic man is accurate. “It’s totally realistic,” she explained, “so what are we doing?” Frankel continued, “There are 50 sleazy, sleazy Hollywood guys like [The Weeknd’s character] that I remember from living in LA.” She went off on haters, asking, “Has everyone lost their f***ing minds?
