Summer Smash was held over the weekend at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. Kid Cudi headlined on Friday night, June 23, while Future handled headliner duties on Saturday, June 24, and Carti brought the Cole Bennett-led event home on Sunday night, June 25. The final night was actually punctuated by Chicago’s very own Lil Durk, but some fans wanted more Playboi Carti.
Videos aggregated on Instagram and Twitter by Our Generation Music show an SUV carrying Carti speeding off from the venue, only to be chased by people on foot as it approached the highway. (Maybe they wanted to demand answers in person as to when his follow-up to Whole Lotta Red is coming.) Carti appeared to love the overflowing love, appearing with a smile from the sunroof.
According to setlist.fm, Carti’s 12-song Summer Smash set included a cover of Lil Yachty’s “Flex Up” and of Kanye West’s “Off The Grid” — Carti was a featured artist on both — before a three-song encore of “Teen X,” “New N3on,” and “Vamp Anthem.”

The Nike Mac Attack is a pretty toned-down sneaker, which is a funny comparison with John McEnroe’s playing style. This sneaker in particular bears an all-red outsole and mostly white upper. The sneaker does bear the “Red Crush” accents on the Swoosh, heel, insoles, and the Nike logo on the tongue. The Nike logo on the tongue also features a checkered print. The sneaker, which is meant to be a tennis sneaker, can really be compared to a Nike Dunk. It’s a functional sneaker that will become more popular as more colorways are released.

The Alchemist has announced a new project dropping on Friday, June 30th, 2023. Earl Sweatshirt, billy woods, and more artists shared the cover art and release date for the effort, titled Flying High, on social media, Monday morning.
Other artists that appear to be featured on the project include MIKE, Boldy James, and Larry June, among others. He tagged them all in a post on Instagram. The cover art features a United Air Lines poster from 1950 showcasing Southern California.

Alchemist has remained busy in recent years, having released his fourth studio, The Alchemist Sandwich, album back in December 2022. That same year, he dropped Continuance with Curren$y, The Elephant Man’s Bones with Roc Marciano, and One More with Mike and Wiki. Earlier this year, he teamed up with Larry June for The Great Escape. Even since just 2022, Alchemist has already worked with many of the artists featured on Flying High.
Alchemist previously collaborated with Earl Sweatshirt on This Thing of Ours, as well as “Old Friend” and “Lye” off of Sick! Earl discussed why he’s such a good producer to work with during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, last year. “He cares bro. He cares a lot. And it’s like, whoa, there’s a lot going on,” he said. “Him and Otis man… It’s like, oh this is not just a loop. This is 27 or like what the… what’s this noise right here. You guys think about the influences. It’s like with Al even with Black… this is like the influences is going back to like a certain place.”

Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins has been traded to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks have been looking to unload the three-year $78 million-dollar contract held by Collins. It looks as though the team has found the right suitor with the Jazz. The Hawks move is to bring flexibility to how they can structure the roster around their young superstar Trae Young. Collins has been discussed as a potential member of a trade from Atlanta since the last off-season. However, it now seems that Collins has found a new home.

Collins has spent the first six seasons of his NBA career in Atlanta. At one time, it seemed that the Hawks would be building their franchise around the young duo of Collins and Young. However, now Collins will be looking for a fresh start with another young team in Utah. The Jazz is in the middle of a massive rebuild after shipping stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert off before the start of last season. Collins could be a perfect addition to what ownership is trying to build in Utah.
In his short 6 years in the league, Collins has averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. Atlanta made the postseason this past year. However, the team fell in the first round to the Boston Celtics. Undoubtedly the move will free up cap space for the Hawks to create a deeper rotation. Travis Scott is easily one of the best artists in the world. Overall, he is someone that fans have wanted to hear from for a very long time. However, despite numerous teasers, he has yet to release UTOPIA. Fans are starting to get a little antsy, and understandably so. Thankfully, the recent teasers for the album indicate that it should be dropping very soon. After all, Mike Dean has made it crystal clear that he is finishing up the last touches for the album. This includes mixing and mastering, which Dean has always been phenomenal at.
Nevertheless, fans are hoping for a classic. That is exactly what Astroworld was, and consequently, fans have extremely high expectations. For now, however, it still remains to be seen whether or not he can actually live up to these expectations. After all, he has been giving his supporters about five years’ worth of build-up. That said, according to @kurrco on Twitter, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel.
In the tweet below, you can see that Travis Scott’s website now has the UTOPIA logo on the front page. Moreover, the website allows fans to either get text messages, Discord, or email updates on the album. Furthermore, in the website’s code, there is a line about pre-ordering the album. Needless to say, this project is very much on the horizon. While we still don’t have a release date or any other information to go off of, it is clear that something special is on the way.
Hopefully, Travis Scott will finally stop playing around and give us the release date we have all been waiting for. Alongside the pair, Busta Rhymes, MC Lyte and more were honored as black leaders in the entertainment industry. Chloe sported an earth tone cutout dress with blended green and brown fabrics weaving around each other.
