The Nike Mac Attack is a pretty toned-down sneaker, which is a funny comparison with John McEnroe’s playing style. This sneaker in particular bears an all-yellow outsole and mostly white upper. The sneaker does bear the “Lemon Venom” accents on the Swoosh, heel, insoles, and the Nike logo on the tongue. The Nike logo on the tongue also features a checkered print. The sneaker, which is meant to be a tennis sneaker, can be compared to a Nike Dunk. It’s a functional sneaker that will become more popular as more colorways are released.

Travis Scott & John McEnroe Beef Appears To Have Been One Huge Marketing Scheme

Travis Scott has been doing a lot of work with Nike and Jordan Brand over the last six years. Overall, he has released a ton of shoes, and that is not going to change, anytime soon. In fact, the brand is bringing back the Nike Mac Attack, which is John McEnroe’s signature shoe. McEnroe was known for his temper out on the tennis court, and Nike has been looking to market that. Scott has also been known for having a temper, and a pairing with McEnroe was ripe for exploitation.

Well, said exploitation began last weekend when a Zoom call supposedly leaked online. In this call, McEnroe was begging and pleading with Travis Scott to call the shoe Cactus Mac. Travis was against this as he felt like it sounded like the name of a burger. McEnroe was subsequently very upset about this and was close to yelling. From there, we saw videos of McEnroe dissing Travis, while Scott was defacing McEnroe murals. It all felt like a marketing ploy, and Scott’s latest Instagram post pretty much confirmed this.

Travis Scott & John McEnroe Are Back On Good Terms

“U know how we rocking !! What u thought was gon happen? PS…..,” Scott wrote on his IG. In the photo, the two can be seen next to each other, making forced angry faces. It is all just one huge attempt at selling the shoe, which is set to drop next week. Whether or not this tactic works, still remains to be seen. Usually, Travis shoes sell out instantly, regardless of the marketing. That said, Nike saw some sort of opportunity, and they took it. Whether fans resonate with that, is another story entirely.

Let us know what you think of the new Nike Mac Attack collaboration, in the comments section below. Will you be copping this model? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from around the sneaker world. We will continue to bring you the biggest releases from all of the biggest brands.

John McEnroe Explains Travis Scott Argument, Rapper Destroys Stage Prop During “FEIN”

Earlier this week, a leaked clip of an argument between Travis Scott and tennis legend John McEnroe began making its rounds online. In the clip, McEnroe gets heated, arguing that they should change Cactus Jack to “Cactus Mac” for their Nike collab campaign. Travis didn’t agree with him, claiming that “Cactus Mac was never a thing.”

Eventually, McEnroe got frustrated and left the Zoom call, but not before letting the artist know how disrespected he felt. “C’mon man, show a little respect, this is my shoe!” he said. Now, Maurice Kamara of @thepeoplegallery_ has caught up with McEnroe for a fit check, and to glean some insight to the argument. He maintained a similar sentiment as before, insisting that he get some respect for popularizing the shoe. As for his fit, he kept things simple with a trench coat, some jeans, and a pair of Attacks.

Towards the end of the interview, however, he opened up his trench coat to reveal a Cactus Mac t-shirt. “I was wearing these things in the 80s,” he said of the shoes. While his endeavors in fashion have certainly paid off, Travis Scott also continues to do what he’s best known for. He’s currently making his way around the U.S. and Canada on his Circus Maximus tour in support of his album UTOPIA.

During a recent performance, he was gearing up to perform “FEIN” when he decided to unleash on a nearby stage prop. He destroyed the prop with his foot while security looked on, appearing concerned. It’s unclear why he decided to break the prop, but regardless, his crowd cheered him on.

Travis Scott & John McEnroe Argue Over Nike Mac Attack Collab In Leaked Zoom Call

Travis Scott and tennis legend John McEnroe got into a heated argument in a recently leaked Zoom call regarding the release of their Nike collaboration, the Mac Attack. McEnroe argues that they should flip the name of Cactus Jack to “Cactus Mac,” for the campaign, which upsets the rapper.

“God damn it, Travis. Jenny is right, okay, let’s have a little bit of compromise,” McEnroe says. Scott responds by explaining that “Cactus Mac was never a thing,” to which McEnroe retorts: “C’mon man, show a little respect, this is my shoe!” From there, Scott says “I’m not really feeling it, something is off,” before joking that “it sounds like a burger.” McEnroe then drops out of the Zoom call in frustration.

Nike dropped the Scott and McEnroe collaboration back in June, featuring a white, light silver, and black colorway, with a mesh and leather combination. It mirrored the original 1984 style of the sneaker worn by the tennis legend. “The classic silhouette from the 80’s is back with the Attack, inspired by the hot-tempered spirit of tennis legend, John McEnroe,” Nike announced during the marketing campaign. “Sparked by the high-heat cultural buzz and public figures like short film co-star Travis Scott, Nike is officially reviving the legendary sneakers. Through the spirit of rebelliousness and individualism, the Attack is back to inspire today’s young rebels and subcultures to express bold innovation through their styles and patterns.”
