John Boyega Reveals Recent Phonecall With Jamie Foxx

It’s been a tough few months for Jamie Foxx fans. The actor was suddenly hospitalized in April while on the set of his upcoming Netflix film, Back In Action. After many conflicting reports about his status, his daughter revealed in mid-May that he had been out of the hospital for several weeks. However, for the time being, Foxx continues to recover in private.

Meanwhile, a project starring Foxx is preparing for release. They Cloned Tyrone is a sci-fi comedy-mystery from debut director Juel Taylor. Paying homage to the Blaxploitation films of the 1970s, the film is a pulpy, vibrant comedy about three friends discovering a government conspiracy. Jamie Foxx stars alongside John Boyega and Teyonah Parris. Premiering at the American Black Film Festival in June, They Cloned Tyrone will be available on Netflix in late July.

Speaking at the premiere of They Cloned Tyrone, John Boyega confirmed that he had finally been able to speak with Foxx. “He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” Boyega said. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.” He continued: “I gave him the well wishes directly. I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”

Meanwhile, the film’s co-producer Datari Turner shared a similar sentiment. “I promise you, [he’s] doing really, really good,” Turner said. “[Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. YNW Melly Trial: Rapper’s DNA Reportedly Not Found In Jeep The Night Of Shooting

YNW Melly is currently on trial for the alleged double murder of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. Of course, this incident took place all the way back in 2018. Since that time, Melly has actually been in jail and has awaited trial. Now, the trial is finally here and a lot is being brought to light. Although this trial has been confusing at times, new witnesses are coming in to try and paint a picture. Overall, yesterday was a productive day in court as we heard from forensics experts who surveyed the crime scene.

Perhaps the biggest revelation had to do with some of the DNA evidence, or lack there of. In the Instagram post below from Neighborhood Talk, it was reported that YNW Melly’s DNA could not be found in the jeep on the night of the alleged double murder. Moreover, he didn’t have any gun residue on his hands that night. However, it was revealed that they were able to find his DNA on the door handle to the car, although investigators only found this evidence a month ago.

Today in court, investigators are taking to the stand to discuss the trajectory of the bullets. Originally, Melly had claimed that Sakchaser and Juvy died in a drive-by. However, based on the testimony of forensics experts, it would appear as though the shots came from close range and within the vehicle itself. This reporting comes from Bryson “Boom” Paul, who has been live-tweeting from within the courtroom.

At this juncture, the trial still has a long way to go. From there, the jury will have to deliberate which will subsequently lead to a guilty or not-guilty ruling. Drake Spotted Filming Music Video For Young Thug Song

Last week, Young Thug released his new album Business Is Business from prison. He’s already gotten quite a bit of mileage out of the record as fans have dissected all its lyrical details. Just a few days after the album originally dropped it was followed up with a special Metro’s Version helmed by producer Metro Boomin. Now the next chapter in the record’s development is clear, a music video for its breakout hit. While songs like “Parade On Cleveland” with Drake and “Cars Bring Me Out” with Future have been big, they aren’t the records first single. That honor goes to “Oh U Went” which also features Drake. Over the weekend Drake was spotted filming a music video for the track in Memphis.

A short clip that’s gone viral shows the rapper working on the new video. In the clip, Drake sits with a crowd of extras some of whom are singing along to the song and others are just enjoying the vibes. The particular part of the song that is playing is Drake’s verse. It’s unclear at the moment what visuals will accompany Young Thug’s parts of the song. Thugger is still incarcerated as part of the ongoing YSL RICO trial.

In the days following the release of Business Is Business, Metro’s Version was released. The new version of that album featured a brand new song from Young Thug which featured Nicki Minaj and Juice Wrld. Afterward Minaj took to Instagram to dance to the new song and give Young Thug his flowers for being so influential to trap music.

Drake on the other hand has some new material coming in an unexpected way. Over the weekend he announced a new book of poetry called Titles Ruin Everything. He also confirmed that an upcoming album called For All The Dogs would accompany it. The book was dropped just a day after the announcement but the album doesn’t have a release date yet. Jaden Smith Says Jada Introduced Family To Psychedelics

The Smith family appears to have found a newfound appreciation for psychedelic substances. According to Jaden Smith, his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, introduced psychedelics to the family. Per Essence, the entrepreneur and artist appeared as a guest speaker at the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver. During his appearance, he opened up about his experience with psychedelic substances. He explained that it was his mother who initially helped introduce him to hallucinogens. “I think it was my mom, actually, that was really the first one to make that step for the family,” he said.

Jaden explained that his mother had already uncovered the benefits of psychedelics. From there, she shared her discoveries with the rest of the family. “It was just her for a really, really long time. And then, eventually it just trickled and evolved and everybody found it in their own ways,” he explained. Jaden said that it’s helped him in many ways. From his own ventures to how he approaches his philanthropic work and his personal relationships. Ultimately, Jaden has found the use of hallucinogens as an incredibly useful tool in his life.

Jaden, specifically, explained how the use of psychedelics helped his relationships with his brother and sister. “Siblings can argue so much and fight so much, and lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past,” he said. “But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them inside of the (psychedelic) experiences and outside of the experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”

He also added that it’s helped him work out issues without having to resort to tense conflict. “It will actually help us to open up our minds to get out of the old ways of thinking that got us into lots of these arguments and open it up so that it just releases and makes room for you to work it out and massage it out until it’s completely gone,” he said. Psychedelics remain a popular topic, one that’s gained support in states like Colorado and Oregon. The former has actually legalized psilocybin, DMT, and mescalin.

Jonathan Majors Files Domestic Violence Complaint Against His Assault Accuser

Jonathan Majors has filed a domestic violence complaint against the alleged victim in his ongoing assault and harassment case. His ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, previously alleged that he broke her finger, twisted her arm, and struck her in the ear, causing it to bleed. He instead argues that she attacked him during the dispute in New York that led to his March 25 arrest.

In a filing obtained by Insider, Majors claims that Jabbari was “drunk and h*sterical” and had scratched, slapped, and grabbed at his face causing him to bleed. Majors also alleged his accuser has attacked him on prior occasions that he didn’t previously report, including a “verbal dispute in London that became physical.”

Further, Majors answered “yes” in response to the following questions when asked by police: “Is suspect capable of killing you or children?”; “Is suspect violently and constantly jealous of you?”; and “Has the physical violence increased in frequency or severity over the past 6 months?”

Majors has consistently proclaimed his own innocence in the domestic dispute. He says that he wasn’t responsible for the injuries that landed his ex in the hospital after the incident. “From the beginning, we have said Jonathan Majors is innocent and provably the victim here,” Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement shared with Entertainment Weekly. “Last week, for the first time, Mr. Majors met with the NYPD to present them with evidence of what really happened on that night.”

Majors starred in Creed III as well as multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as different iterations of Kang the Conqueror prior to his arrest. He’s also known for roles in The Harder They Fall and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, among others. Majors has a trial date set for August 3rd in regard to the misdemeanor assault case. While Craig would return for No Time To Die, Elba was still viewed as a favorite to take up the mantle in the future. However, in a new interview with the SmartLess podcast, Elba has explained why he’s no longer interested in playing 007.

Elba was initially excited about the speculation. “The truth is, I was super complimented for a long time about this,” Elba admitted. “I was like, ‘This is cr*zy!’ James Bond…We’re all actors and we understand that role. It’s one of those coveted [roles]. Being asked to be James Bond was like, ‘Ok, you’ve sort of reached the pinnacle’. That’s one of those things the whole world has a vote in.” However, the subsequent racist backlash inevitably moved Elba away from playing the character. “Essentially, it was a huge compliment that every corner of the world except from some corners, which we will not talk about, were really happy about the idea that I could be considered,” Elba explained.

“Those that weren’t happy about the idea made the whole thing disgusting and off-putting, because it became about race. It became about nonsense and I got the brunt of it.” Elba’s views were somewhat validated by the latest Bond film to date, No Time To Die. The film, which featured Lashana Lynch as an MI6 agent who is briefly assigned the 007 moniker, received considerable backlash from those same people about making James Bond a black woman (which the film doesn’t do in the slightest).
