YFN Lucci’s Lawyer Criticizes Georgia’s ‘Racist’ RICO Law That Has Young Thug And Gunna Behind Bars

The fate of Young Thug, Gunna, and other YSL members most likely won’t be known until January 2023. That’s because both Young Thug and Gunna had their bond denied in the RICO case against them that began last month when a 56-count case against 28 members was unveiled. Gunna’s bond was denied as he was accused of having a “command” role in YSL while Young Thug was labeled a possible danger to the community when his bond was denied. Since the case began, Georgia’s RICO case has been criticized for multiple reasons, including the fact that song lyrics are being used in court.

YFN Lucci’s lawyer Drew Findling, aka the “Billion Dollar Lawyer,” was the latest person to criticize the RICO law. He did so during a recent conversation with TMZ. “I think we’ve exaggerated what gangs are in Atlanta,” he said. “I think we’ve exaggerated what RICO is Atlanta. We need to take a look at just going ahead and charging people based on their lyrics and musical aspirations and their First Amendment right to express themselves. We’re not really indicting anybody from Quentin Tarantino films, are we?”

Findling continued, “We’re not indicting anybody for, ‘I shot the sheriff, but I didn’t shoot the deputy down,’ but all of a sudden we’ve handpicked this music, this music aspiration, and this music of people in the Black and brown community and it’s completely f*cking racist and that’s what it is.”

In addition to representing Lucci, who is currently behind bars on a RICO charge and has ties to the YSL RICO case, Findling has also represented Gucci Mane, Offset, and DaBaby in the past.

Jared Leto Joins The “Morbius” Meme Storm

Many had high hopes for Morbius, a dark offering from the Marvel universe. Its trailer teased a new, darker tone that made it contrast from other films in the massive superhero franchise. Its announcement had fans digging into Morbius lore, excited to see how the film would fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The actual film, however, did not live up to the hype. At least, not at first. The Jared Leto vehicle got a measly 17% on Rotten Tomatoes, and most fans were pretty disappointed with the lackluster special effects and undercooked plot the movie had to offer. It seemed Morbius would be a rare superhero bomb. But then the memes started coming.

The internet got a kick out of how bad the film was, and began to generate an ungodly amount of memes about the project. They say any publicity is good publicity, and that has certainly been the case for Morbius. The flurry of attention got Morbius‘ parent company, Sony, to decide to put the movie back in theaters in hopes to cash in on all the irony-watching. Even the film’s star is playing along.

In a recent Twitter post, Jared Leto shared a video which nods to the memes that Morbius has spawned. In the video, the camera person asks what Leto is reading, to which he responds with a cagey, “Nothing, nothing.” The camera zooms in and reveals the title of the script in his hands: “Morbius 2: It’s Morbin’ Time.”

Check out the video below. It’s probably no fun to be the star of a universally panned movie, but at least it seems Leto is a good sport.

YFN Lucci’s Lawyer Speaks On Young Thug & Gunna’s Case, “It’s Completely F*cking Racist”

The case against rappers Young Thug & Gunna makes headlines each and every day. The two men, along with multiple others, were arrested last month on RICO charges. It has been stated that those apprehended were all connected in gang activity. The “gang” in question– YSL, also known as Young Stoner Life record label.

Since being taken into custody, both Thug & Gunna have been denied bond. Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, is said to be living in “dungeon-like” conditions. According to his attorney, the Slime Season artist is confined to a small room with no window. Prosecutors have referred to the 30-year-old rapper as the “King Slime” and “one of the most dangerous men here.”

As their case continues to unfold, many celebrities in the industry have expressed their desperate desire for them to be free. Entertainers like Meek Mill, Cordae, Metro Boomin, Adrien Broner, and others have spoken about their arrest and wait for their return.

Now, there’s someone else jumping into the conversation. TMZ caught up with YFN Lucci’s attorney, Drew Findling, and asked him if he believed the rappers would get out on their charges. He replied, “What I think is that we’ve exaggerated what gangs are in Atlanta. We’ve exaggerated what RICO is in Atlanta.”

The lawyer went on to express his disagreement with building a case on rappers solely for their lyrics. “We’re not really indicting anybody for Quentin Tarantino films, are we? We’re not indicting anybody for ‘I shot the sheriff, but I didn’t shoot the deputy.'”

Findling feels that black and brown people are being targeted for their musical aspirations while others aren’t. He ended his rant by adding, “It’s completely f*cking racist. That’s what it is.”

Do you agree with his point?

Earl Sweatshirt Misses Mac Miller

Mac Miller passed away almost four years ago, and many of his fans and peers continue to feel his absence. In a recent conversation with HNHH, Vince Staples detailed what he learned from Miller. Last year, a posthumous video for Mac’s song “San Francisco” was released to much acclaim. The circumstances of Miller’s death continue to unfurl as well- last month, the dealer who gave Miller the drugs he overdosed on was sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison.

Now, Earl Sweatshirt is the latest figure in the music industry to keep Mac’s legacy alive. In a tweet on Friday, June 4, Earl remembered the late rapper.

Earl’s statement was simple. “I miss my friend Malcolm McCormick,” he wrote in all caps, using Mac’s given name. Fans immediately responded to the post in kind, showering praise on both Miller and Earl. “Been listen to Mac all morning. You can definitely tell in some of his music how much inspiration he took from making music with you,” @akanicholas wrote. “Two goats fr,” wrote @armanjot_bhangu. “Love both y’all so much the whole world miss him,” added @pookiedastain.

Earl just wrapped up a tour with Action Bronson, Boldy James, and The Alchemist. Since then, he’s responded to Joe Budden’s criticisms, saying that Budden was just “tight” about his Loiter Squad impression. In January, Earl dropped his fourth studio album, SICK!. The ten-song project was largely produced by Alchemist and featured both Zelooperz and Armand Hammer. It was his first project since 2020’s Feet Of Clay EP.
