Cheez-It And Pandora Release Crackers With Cheese Aged to Hip-Hop

Anyone on this site knows that hip-hop’s impact on music, culture, and society is powerful and incredibly significant… but what about its impact on a block of cheese? Cheez-It’s partnered with Pandora for its new crackers to answer that question. The limited Aged by Audio Cheez-It’s are made with 100% real cheese that was aged while “listening” to hip-hop music.

It may be hard to wrap your head around, but the process is intriguing no doubt. Aged by Audio was inspired by a Swiss study that found hip-hop music, specifically its tempos and frequencies, could strengthen the taste and smell of aging cheese. Eric Storm, senior marketing director at Cheez-It, released a statement to share the company’s excitement for this product.

“After six months in the making, we’re thrilled to finally share this absurdly delicious collaboration with our fans… Our innovations team is always exploring new ways to bring more unique experiences to our fans, and Cheez-It x Pandora Aged by Audio is the perfect way to provide our dedicated fans with a truly first-of-its-kind snack while celebrating the joy music brings.”

According to Cheez-It’s description of the product on their website, the cheese was aged while listening to a curated Pandora hip-hop playlist 24 hours a day for six months. Twitter users have responded with (mostly) cheesy hip-hop puns and disbelief, but people are definitely curious.

Hip-hop’s forays into food are nothing new. Master P and Snoop Dogg are releasing new snacks with the Rap Snacks brand, who Migos famously partnered with as well. MF DOOM released a whole album about food, and rappers like EminemBun BBlueface, and more have all launched their own restaurants. However, this might be the most creative crossover yet, albeit the most unconventional.

Customers who buy the new Cheez-Its will also get a free 90-day trial for Pandora Premium, and they will even be able to access the playlist that the cheese “listened” to while aging, which should pair perfectly with the snack – I wonder if they put Swizz Beatz on there?

People might insert a witty play on words or be skeptical of the process when talking about the rap-aged Cheez-Its, but as they say, can’t knock it ’til you try it.

You can buy the Aged by Audio Cheez-It’s made with hip-hop music on the Cheez-It website or through the Pandora app or site. You can also check out some of Twitter’s reactions to the announcement above.

Prosecutors Say Young Thug Rapped About Shooting YFN Lucci’s Mother

Young Thug’s lyrics are at the center of his RICO case.

During a bond hearing this week, prosecutors brought up the rapper’s lyrics from his 2021 collaboration with Juice WRLD, “Bad Boy,” on which Thug raps about shooting someone who is believed to be YFN Lucci’s mother.

“[Thug] got into a beef if you will with another rapper by the name of Rayshawn Bennett, also known as YFN Lucci,” the prosecutor told the court.

“At some point, Lucci’s mother was shot at and the song comes out with ‘Bad Boy’ that says, ‘You better watch the way you breathe around me ‘fore that breath be your last, boy / Smith & Wesson .45 put a hole in his heart, better not play with me / Killers stay with me, I shot at his mommy, now he no longer mention me.”

Thug and Lucci’s beef dates back to 2017. Prosecutors allege that two associates of YSL, Christian Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin, worked to get Thug’s permission to make a second attempt to murder Lucci, who was reportedly stabbed at Fulton County Jail in February.

Thug, referred to as “King Slime,” was named as the leader of the alleged YSL criminal street gang in the 56-count indictment. He was arrested at his home on May 9 and charged with Conspiracy to Violate the RICO Act alongside Gunna and other members of YSL.

Prosecutors are using Thug’s song lyrics and social media posts to portray him as a violent gang figure. Lyrics from nine different songs were listed in the RICO indictment, starting with 2014’s “Eww,” with the most recent being 2021’s “Ski” with Gunna.

The judge denied Thug’s bond during Thursday’s hearing, expressing concern that he was a danger to the community and could intimidate other witnesses. He is expected to remain in jail until his trial in January 2023.

Young Thug Allegedly Bragged About Shooting YFN Lucci’s Mother In A Song According To Prosecutors

Young Thug will spend the next six months behind bars at Cobb County Jail. That’s because a judge recently denied his bond after he expressed his “concern” towards Young thugs possibly being a danger to the community or obstructing justice in the YSL RICO case. “I realize that Mr. Williams is presumed innocent,” Judge Ural Glanville said during the hearing at Fulton County Superior Court. “However, in this particular circumstance there have been significant [claims] about Mr. Williams being a danger to the community.” It was also during this hearing that song lyrics were represented for an alleged shooting that involved YFN Lucci’s mother.

Young Thug and YFN Lucci have not seen eye-to-eye for years now, and according to prosecutors, Young Thug bragged about shooting Lucci’s mother in one of his recent songs. “[Thug] got into a beef, if you will, with another rapper by the name of Rayshawn Bennett, also known as YFN Lucci,” the prosecution says. “At some point, Lucci’s mother was shot at and the song comes out, ‘Bad Boy,’ that says, uh, let’s see…‘You better watch the way you breathe around me ‘fore that breath be your last boy, Smith & Wesson .45 put a hole in his heart, better not play with me, killers stay with me, I shot at his mommy now he no longer mention me.”

The record that the prosecution is referring to is Juice WRLD and Young Thug’s 2021 record “Bad Boy.” The protection presentation of song lyrics has been criticized since the start of the YSL RICO case. It has many asking for a law similar to New York’s Rap On Trial law which states that there should be “clear and convincing evidence” that an artist’s song, video, or other “creative expression” is “literal, rather than figurative or fictional” in order for it to be presented in court.

You can watch the lyrics to “Bad Boy” be presented in court in the video above.

Kendrick Lamar Debuts A Short Film For ‘We Cry Together’ At A Los Angeles Theater

It’s nearly been a month since Kendrick Lamar dropped his long-awaited fifth album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. The project, which presented 18 songs and guest appearances from Blxst, Summer Walker, Kodak Black, Baby Keem, Sampha, Ghostface Killah, and more, left fans with a lot to talk about. There was Kendrick’s push back against cancel culture, Kodak Black’s multiple appearances on the album, and more. Another notable moment from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was “We Cry Together,” which found Kendrick in an extremely heated argument with his girlfriend who is played by actress Taylour Paige.

Some have criticized the song, which plays more like a skit despite its rhyme scheme, while others have found it a bit enjoyable. Nonetheless, the experience attached to “We Cry Together” is about to continue as Kendrick Lamar is set to bring the album to a Los Angeles theater. According to HipHop-N-More, a short film for “We Cry Together” will premiere at the Laemmle Royal Theater in West Los Angeles for the next six days. The film, which is billed as “a performance from Taylour Paige and Kendrick Lamar,” premieres today at the theater and it will be available there until June 9.

The news about the film comes after “We Cry Together” had one of the biggest drops on the Billboard singles chart.

You can view a picture of the Laemmle Royal Theater above and purchase tickets for the “We Cry Together” short film here.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is out now via PgLang/Aftermath/TDE/Interscope. You can stream it here.

Kylie Jenner Soaks Up The Sun In A Shiny Silver Scoop-Neck Swimsuit

Kylie Jenner is living her best life, and she’s not afraid to let the world know it. On Friday, June 3rd, the mother of two revealed on her Instagram feed that she and her girlfriends took a trip “to Mars” – or at least a lake that looks an awful lot like the surface of the far away planet.

“Lake life,” she captioned her first vacation photo dump, which saw her lounging back in a boat, soaking up the scorching sunshine in a silver scoop neck bathing suit. The second picture included a closer look at Jenner’s chest, which she once again flaunted in her second carousel, aptly captioned, “Angles.”

In a third post, the Kylie Skin founder and her gal pal Victoria Villarroel splashed about in the water, cheekily teasing her behind for the camera. “Brb went to Mars,” she wrote along with the scenic snapshots.

When they were done hanging out by the out-of-this-world water, Jenner and her IG famous friend snapped a sunkissed selfie. “Pretty brown eyes,” the caption reads, drawing attention to both women’s soulful stares.

That’s not all the posting she had in store for her 344M followers, though. On the evening of Saturday, June 4th she posed in a concrete-covered area wearing a skin-tight blue mini skirt and long-sleeve top combo. “Blue might be my new favourite colour,” she revealed.

Kendrick Lamar & Taylour Paige’s “We Cry Together” Short Film Playing Exclusively In L.A.

On Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar raised eyebrows for more than one reason. First, there was his collaboration with controversial Floridian rapper Kodak Black, which saw K-Dot receive some backlash for working with someone who had been accused of sexual assault.

Second, there was his admission of infidelity against his fiancée and the mother of his two children, Whitney Alford, on “Mother I Sober,” and third, there was “We Cry Together” with Zola actress Taylour Paige making her rap debut in a back and forth emulating a toxic relationship with Lamar.

“I swear, I’m tired of these emotional ass, ungrateful ass bitches / Unstable ass, confrontational ass dumb bitches,” the Compton native vents on his first verse. “You wanna bring a n*gga down even when I’m tryna do right / We could go our separate ways right now / You could move on with your life, I swear to God.”

Paige, who sounds undeniably similar to Rico Nasty, responds, “F*ck you n*gga, you love a pity party, I won’t show up / Always act like your shit don’t stink, motherf*cker, grow up / Forever late for shit, won’t buy shit, sit around and deny shit (man) / F*ck around on a side bitch, then come f*ckin’ up my shit.”

For the past few weeks, the actress has been teasing the arrival of a music video with her and Lamar, and fans have been eagerly waiting to see what they have in store. According to HipHopNMore, though, if you’re not in Los Angeles it might be some time before you can see the “We Cry Together” short film.

The project, described as “a performance from Taylour Paige and Kendrick Lamar, presented by pgLang,” will be exclusively playing at the Laemmle Royal Theatre in West L.A. until June 9th.

Queen Latifah On The Lil Nas X BET Awards Snub: “He Should’ve Been Nominated”

There’s no question that Lil Nas X is a success story. He is behind one of the most successful singles of all time, and his newest album, Montero, was loved by many. And yet with all this popularity and praise, he can’t seem to get much attention from awards shows. He has joked about not winning any Grammys, and now he’s been snubbed by the BET Awards.

Earlier in the week, the award show released its nominations, giving attention to big names like Doja Cat, Ari Lennox, and Drake. Lil Nas X’s name was nowhere to be seen. Many have sided with Lil Nas X about the snub, and now Queen Latifah has joined the chorus.

“Lil Nas X is amazing,” Latifah told TMZ. “He should’ve been nominated.” Lil Nas has also been vocal about the snub. After the nominations were announced, the rapper took to Twitter and ripped into the decision process. “Thank you BET awards,” he wrote in a now-deleted tweet. “An outstanding zero nominations again. Black excellence!” He added in another tweet: “I just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible.”

While Latifah offered Lil Nas support, she was hesitant to say if his sexuality played a part in the nomination process. “I don’t know if that’s the case,” she said. “I don’t know what’s behind all that, but inclusion is always the key. That’s what we should be striving for. There’s enough room in this world for everybody.”

So far, it doesn’t seem like award snubs have stopped Lil Nas X’s rise.

50 Cent Trolls Madonna Again, Compares Her to an Alien

50 Cent has no chill when it comes to Madonna.

After taking a few months off, the rapper is back to trolling the pop icon. On Friday, 50 reposted a photo of the 63-year-old singer wearing sunglasses while laying in bed with her legs open. He compared her look to an alien, sharing a series of photos of extraterrestrial creatures in his Instagram slideshow.

“I hope she didn’t make her kids take this picture,” 50 wrote in his caption before criticizing her age. “LOL at 63 somebody tell her to chill out please.”

This is not the first time 50 has trolled Madonna. Last year, he mocked the Material Girl, claiming she was too old to be posting risqué photos.

After seeing the memes and jokes at her expense, Madonna called 50 out for “pretending to be her friend.”

“I guess your new career is getting attention by trying to humiliate others on social media, the least elevated choice you could make as an artist and an adult,” she told the “Power” producer. “You’re just jealous you won’t look as good as me or have as much fun when you’re my age!”

50 offered an apology before deleting it. “I must have hurt Madonna feelings, she went and dug up a old MTV photo from 03. Ok Im sorry i did not intend to hurt your feelings,” he wrote. “I don’t benefit from this in anyway i said what i thought when i saw the picture because of where i had seen it before i hope you accept my apology.”

Madonna later called him out for his “fake apology.” “You were trying to shame me, you were trying to humiliate me,” she said. “Your apology is fake, it’s bullshit, and it’s not valid.”

Madonna has yet to address 50’s latest comments, but social media has weighed in. “And you? At 46 acting like you’re 15 talking crap on someone who’s just being herself and being happy! Youre the one that need to chill out!” one person told 50, while another added, “If there’s one person I don’t want beef with, it’s 50.”

[WATCH] Mo’Nique Accuses DL Hughley Of Neglecting His Daughter

monique

Last week comedian Mo’Nique went live on Instagram to explain why she lashed out at fellow comedian DL Hughley while onstage.  After her show in Detroit went she blamed the outburst on a decades old beef.

Yesterday, Mo’Nique shared a clip of Hughley admitting he did not believe his own daughter when she told him she was molested. She went live again to address the backlash, insisting it’s a comedians job to leave it all on the stage.

Monique wrote:
(This is based upon DL’s own words that you just heard.) @realdlhughley When I said “how can DL’s wife suck the d**k of a coward”, this is what I meant. When my husband & I say we have to fight for the little girls coming up behind us & u see DL didn’t believe his own daughter over a friend, because he seemingly likes his friend more than he LOVED HIS OWN DAUGHTER & didn’t want to be bothered by the inconvenient truth. This highlights why the BLACK WOMEN isn’t believed when she publicly speaks about her trauma. What does the BLACK WOMEN & his (DL’s ) BLACK WIFE have coming. Watch who stands with this man & your looking at the same ones who will sit down, when you our sisters are being attacked. I find it funny that DL will call out
ICE CUBE, KANYE, RIZZA ISLAM, ANGELA STANTON, MYSELF ETC., but he won’t call out the name of the person that violated his daughter.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO SAID I JUST NEED TO LET THINGS GO!
