Beyoncé Releases The New Single ‘Break My Soul,’ A Confident Anthem

After rebooting her social media profiles and sending fans into a frenzy over something called “Renaissance,” Beyoncé’s has just released a new song “Break My Soul,” which is a single from the forthcoming album of that title. It’s a confident, clubby anthem with inspiring lyrics: “Now I just fell in love / And I just quit my job / I’m gonna find new drive / Damn they work me so damn hard.” It previews a relentlessly catchy LP.

The track is four and a half minutes, giving enough time for fans to fully relish it. Her last full-length record was 2016’s iconic Lemonade, so this is a real treat. She also mentioned that Renaissance will be heavy on both country and dance tunes, and this single definitely proves the latter.

In a 2021 interview, Beyonce hinted at Rennaissance when she said discussed working on new music: “With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible. I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies. Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!”

Beyoncé Drops “Break My Soul” With Guest Appearance From Big Freedia

Fans anticipated this one to be released at the stroke of midnight, but Beyoncé had other plans. The superstar singer has been delivering one surprise after another since last week’s announcement that her forthcoming album, Renaissance, would be making an appearance at the end of next month. Then, internet sleuths pieced together that “Break My Soul,” the first official single from the record, would be released this evening, however, the track has already made its way to streaming services.

“Break My Soul” is a dance-heavy track that is set for clubbing and festivals, and we also find Bey reuniting with her “Formation” collaborator, Bounce queen Big Freedia. On Twitter, the latter fired off a message of excitement.

“It feels surreal to be on the track with the Queen Beyonce once again,” wrote Freedia. “I’m so honored to be apart of this special moment I’m forever grateful lord.”

Stream “Break My Soul” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

Now, I just fell in love, and I just quit my job
I’m gonna find new drive, damn, they work me so damn hard
Work by nine, then off past five
And they work my nerves, that’s why I cannot sleep at night

Tiffany Haddish Playfully Teases Common Over Breakdancing Skills

Their romance may have come to an end, but there is still nothing but love between Tiffany Haddish and Common. The dating rumors about these two first surfaced in the Summer of 2018 and continued throughout 2019, but it wasn’t until Spring 2020 did they kick things up a notch and begin soft launching their relationship. Soon, the world was flooded with these two appearing in interviews, lavishing the other with compliments, but unfortunately, the couple announced their breakup during last year’s holiday season.

Haddish is the more outspoken of the two and since the couple’s split, she has spoken openly about what she wants in a relationship moving forward. Common has instead kept to himself when it comes to the breakup, but that hasn’t stopped either star from acknowledging the other on social media.

Recently, a clip of Common performing went viral and it captured Haddish’s attention. In the video, Common is on stage giving his all to his adoring fans who are hyped about his show, and the rapper took a brief moment to show off his breakdancing skills. These moves aren’t unusual for the rapper, as he’s been windmilling his way around the world for decades.

Haddish couldn’t help but playfully tease her ex.

“He Ready …. for a back rub I am sure [crying laughing emoji],” the actress joked. “I am proud of you [thumbs up emoji] I don’t want to hear sh*t when y’all see me old ass Twerking and breakdancing.” Check out Common’s moves below.

Beyoncé Teases Snippet Of “Break My Soul” Single Ahead Of Release

We’re not far off from the release of Beyoncé’s next single and the BeyHive cannot wait. In less than two hours, “Break My Soul” will arrive in all of its glory, and it is a track that is sure to light up social media upon its release. Beyoncé & Co. recently announced her forthcoming album Renaissance, and since that time, her fans have been piecing together hints that have popped up on the internet.

There were rumors that Bey’s publicist teased “Tuesday, Friday, Tuesday” amid Renaissance conversations, and just ahead of “Break My Soul,” a snippet of the track has surfaced.

Once again, you find Beyoncé delivering an anthem-like track that uplifts, and the production gives a summer vibe that is poised for viral potential. Fans have responded to this one in droves, and with the prospect of Bey sharing two more singles in upcoming days, her fanbase is living its best life.

Renaissance will be Beyoncé’s first studio album release since her megahit record Lemonade back in 2016. Lemonade earned a 3x Platinum certification from the RIAA and would jump to the No. 1 position on the charts worldwide. Her forthcoming effort will certainly usher in a new era for the superstar singer, but it begs the question of which Beyoncé the world will receive this time around.

Check out a snippet of “Break My Soul” below and stay tuned for its release at midnight. Renaissance arrives on July 29.

DJ Akademiks & Ugly God Verbally Spar About Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind”

If there is a person who is going to go hard for Drake, it’s DJ Akademiks. Drizzy’s rollouts and album releases undoubtedly receive an onslaught of attention, and justifiably so, but there are a select few who run the extra mile to make sure people are in tune with Drake’s artistry. We’ve reported on the polarizing debates over the rapper’s latest album Honestly, Nevermind, and during those conversations, Akademiks gave his take.

“I ain’t gonna lie… Drake album is definitely Jersey Club inspired.. Shouts to all my Jersey Club producers,” said Ak amid the critical opinions of the record. “So many elements here that reminded me of what yall have built over 15+ yrs,” he added. “Jersey Club the backbone of Bronx Drill n this Drake album.” Rapper Ugly God reposted Akademiks’s message with a response.

“Man ya’ll better make all these excuses for me too if I drop something y’all dont enjoy,” wrote Ugly God. “I need all my supporters to be like this n*gga [crying laughing emoji].” Akademiks doubled down.

“They not excuses tho [sideways crying laughing emojis],” Akademiks replied. “Imma have a qualitative discussion on twitch bout drake album. This some art that we gotta digest for a bit . Matter of fact pull up to twitch rn . I’m finna break this down like a pound of weed.”

However, Ugly God returned, this time in Akademiks’s comment section. He claimed that when Adin Ross gave a similar “excuse” about Ski Mask The Slump God’s project in a critical post from Akademiks, the blogger wasn’t trying to hear it.

“Adin ross said the same exact thing you sayin in this tweet but under your ski mask post about his album a while back. he spoke on it not having propper rollout/promotion and it being experimental and u wasnt going [crying laughing emoji].” Meanwhile, Drake is enjoying dinner with his good friend DJ Khaled. Check it out below.
