Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Signs Massive Deal With Converse And Named Creative Director

Shai Gilgeous Alexander has become a true superstar. Shai and the Oklahoma Thunder secured the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. They are set to face off against the winner of the final play-in game between New Orleans and Sacramento. The Thunder’s success can be largely attributed to Shai becoming a legitimate MVP candidate. He averaged 30 points per game and put on a show through the entire season. Additionally, Shai is positioned to be one of the new faces of the league, and his off-the-court business is reflecting that.

Shai cemented his partnership with Converse today with a massive deal. The extension is major news for Converse. Fans know Gilgeos-Alexander for his style off the court as well as his MVP play. Converse is betting on Shai’s overall persona to be the face of their basketball division. Brands like Nike, Adidas, and Converse dominate the basketball shoe economy. Above all, snatching up an MVP candidate is a big move. In any case, Shai signing with Converse is just another high point this season for Shai.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Creative Director Of Converse Basketball

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has signed a lucrative extension with Converse. Additionally, there will be a signature shoe, which will be released in 2025. Additionally, Converse has named SGA the Creative Director of Converse Basketball. He will be the face of the brand and, hopefully, for Converse, usher in a basketball renaissance for the company. It’s a gamble for Shai as well. He could have easily linked up with Nike or Adidas, but this is a move to build something unique. Hopefully, Converse and Shai can cook up a serious signature shoe.

Shai is preparing for a potential deep playoff run. Talking heads like Shannon Sharpe have downplayed the young Thunder team. There is something to prove on the court, and everyone is looking for Shai to rise to the occasion. SGA is in a three-horse race for MVP with Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic. Undoubtedly, A couple of pieces of hardware for Shai would be a major boost for himself and Converse. In any case, the deal is a major milestone for Gilgeous-Alexander and a sign of many things to come.

Converse and UNDEFEATED Collaborate on Modernized Weapon Capsule Collection

FA23 CONVERSE UNDEFEATED WEAPON MARTINE ALI 1 Copy

Converse and UNDEFEATED have merged their storied athletic heritage with contemporary detailing this summer, unveiling a collaborative spin on the iconic Weapon silhouette. Drawing inspiration from UNDEFEATED’s distinctive camouflage print, the capsule collection introduces two captivating colorways, seamlessly marrying sport and modern street style.

The partnership delves into revered Converse classics, such as Chuck 70 and One Star, reinterpreting them through the lens of both sport and utility while honoring UNDEFEATED’s essence. The collaborative Chuck 70 Mid introduced in 2021, influenced by military aesthetics and camouflage, laid the foundation for the latest Weapon capsule.

Formerly associated with rivalry, the Weapon silhouette now serves as a conduit for fostering community and connection, a shift highlighted by Converse’s reintroduction. Captured by multifaceted creatives across Los Angeles, New York City, and Paris, the collaborative silhouette becomes a canvas for urban expression.

A full leather Vintage White upper dominates the Converse x UNDEFEATED Weapon, allowing intricate details to shine. Branded UNDEFEATED and PLAY DIRTY logos adorn the Y-bar, while an embossed UNDEFEATED logo graces the heel atop an Egret cup sole. The UNDEFEATED 5-strike logo is a focal point on the tongue’s woven label, and nods to the brand’s roots appear in both the sock liner and tongue label in Chive, representing Los Angeles, and Castle Wall, representing New York.

The Converse x UNDEFEATED Weapon in Chive debuts on September 2 via UNDEFEATED LA and Undefeated.com. Details for the Castle Wall release will be disclosed later. The collection will be available on Converse.com and SNKRS from September 14, 2023, capturing the fusion of classic and contemporary aesthetics.

Converse Announces the Addition of Baby Keem to Its Creative Community

Converse Announces the Addition of Baby Keem to Its Creative Community

With the inclusion of Grammy Award-winning singer and producer Baby Keem into its creative community, Converse has announced the extension of its creative roster to include up-and-coming voices in music, sport, and culture.

image003

Keem will partner with Converse on original experiences with the Converse All Stars, the brand’s creator community that gives up-and-coming talent access to mentorship, experiences, and opportunities, for his first brand partnership. Keem will explore various Chuck Taylor All Star dimensions through his creative vision.

Keem created and produced a short film honoring his passion for music and the “iconic and ageless” Chuck Taylor All Star to announce the collaboration.

Keem starts his work with Converse as a part of the company’s continuing Create Next initiative, which aims to provide creatives from all over the world and across disciplines a platform to create Converse’s legacy.

In addition to pgLang, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Natasha Cloud, Alexis Sablone, and Tyler, the Creator, Keem is the newest voice to join the Converse roster.

Baby Keem Inks New Deal With Converse

Baby Keem has been making a massive splash in the music industry as of late. Last year, Keem delivered his debut album The Melodic Blue which was praised by both fans and critics. From there, he has gone on tour with Kendrick Lamar, and he has also been part of the festival circuit, including appearances at Rolling Loud Miami.

With that being said, it should come as no surprise that there are brands looking to work with him. Keem is one of those artists who has a very clear artistic vision for himself, and brands are taking notice of what he can bring to any given partnership.

Now, Keem will be bringing that vision to Converse, which is a brand that already boasts the services of his family member, Kendrick Lamar. Taking to Instagram today, Keem showed off a video of himself holding up a pair of Chuck Taylor’s, while also showcasing a new record simply dubbed “LP2.” Needless to say, new music is on the horizon.

It remains to be seen what Keem will be doing with the brand, although new kicks could perhaps be in the cards.

Tyler, the Creator and Converse Team for GLF 2.0 in All-White Colorway

image001 4

This Fall, Converse and Tyler, The Creator’s GLF 2.0 make a comeback with a clean, all-white rendition of the latest model from the partnership.

The GLF 2.0 completes the Converse x GOLF le FLEUR* collaboration’s five-year journey, which first debuted in June. The silhouette, which evolved from the original all-suede GLF design, combines a vintage court appearance with modern design. The shoe’s all-white coloring replaces canvas with leather for a more upscale appearance.

image002 4

As an homage to the Gianno, the scalloping and fluid lines that have come to characterize Converse x GOLF le FLEUR collaborations are on display. A bright outsole recalls Tyler, The Creator’s previous releases, and retro allusions, including a remixed Converse brand license plate, add a nostalgic touch. The silhouette takes its shape from the Pro Leather, giving an homage to the skate aesthetic that has helped define much of this partnership’s history.

The GOLF le FLEUR colors are still present in the GLF 2.0, but the floral motif from the first version has been replaced with triple-white color blocking. Finally, a lightweight CX liner and cup sole design provide an all-day level of comfort.

On September 27, a constrained global release of the white GLF 2.0 will be offered at Converse.com and GOLF le FLEUR.
