Over the weekend, Future and Metro Boomin dropped their new collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. Right in the thick of the tracklist is the song “Like That” which features a Kendrick Lamar feature. In his verse he surprised fans by taking shots at both J. Cole and Drake which sparked a full weekends worth of rap discussion. Now, Drake’s own dad has taken to Instagram to give his thoughts on those who try and call out his son.
“Yo I am about to drop some new music and I am not sure if it’s going to sell” his Instagram post begins. “but I am going to call some of my homies and get them start a beef with Drake and get them to unfollow him and that’s going make my shit shoot up to number 1, I’m sure this is going to work so let me get some people on board for this and watch what kind of attention this gets!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE NUMBER ONE 1Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he elaborates. Though he’s obviously joking plenty of fans pull up in the comments to agree with him. Check out the hilarious IG post he shared below.
Over the weekend Drake gave an official response to the beef Kendrick Lamar started. During a concert on his It’s All A Blur Tour he gave a speech that served as his answer. Unsurprisingly, he’s trying to look past the affair, take the high road, and use as few specifics as possible. For many fans, this was an underwhelming response to a callout that was so content to specifically call out the rapper.
Whether or not Drake and Future themselves have been is yet to be determined. When asked about it, Metro Boomin claimed that fans were just making things up for engagement. Up-and-coming UK rapper Nemzzz has been gaining popularity for his musical projects. His most recent track “It’s Us,” features none other than Lil Yachty. While this has served to boost his popularity, Nemzzz’s music has gone viral in the past. Moreover, he’s earned a co-sign from Drake. He’s steadily on the rise, garnering more attention for his relatable bars and catchy rap tracks. Although he’s quite the private figure, here’s what we know about Nemzzz so far.
Nemiah Simms, professionally recognized as Nemzzz, hails as a British rapper originating from Manchester, and raised in Gorton. The burgeoning talent has showcased great promise as a rapper and singer. Within his family, musical roots run deep- his mother honed her skills as a beatmaker, while his father was a reggae and bashment vocalist. While growing up in the infamous Gorton area, Nemzzz was exposed to various things that could have affected his life negatively. Speaking to Complex UK, he opened up about why living in Gorton influenced his decision to become a rapper.
“I’ve seen a lot of bad things happen in and to Gorton,” he said. “So for me, it’s motivated me to get out of that environment and just be different and set an example for other people who are lost on their way, trying to get somewhere and make something of their life too. Coming from that tough environment gave me some type of beast mode and hunger to change my life.”
The 19-year-old rapper has always been around music. At age 6, he rapped over a reggae song his father made and immediately fell in love with the idea of being a musician, as well. Although the light was ignited then, Nemzzz didn’t believe in his dream until he was 13 years old. Soon after, he began practicing rapping with YouTube instrumentals. In the same interview with Complex UK, he spoke about the influences that shaped his musical journey.
“My family has always made music, so I was always around it growing up. But one day, I saw my dad doing music in the studio, and I was like, ‘You know what? Let me try a thing, too.’ I tried making a tune, and it wasn’t all that, but it gave me a buzz. I must have played it for one of my friends and he thought it was hard, even though I thought it wasn’t.”
Nemzzz made his debut in November 2021 with the smash hit “Elevate,” which took TikTok by storm and propelled him to amass over 54 million streams on Spotify. The track also received a music video from the British music outlet GRM Daily. Since his explosive breakthrough, he has become a household name among other UK music critics. With the massive success of “Elevate,” Nemzzz followed up with the release of “2Ms” in February 2022. The track was also immensely successful, gaining popularity across various listening and social media platforms.
Continued Success
By November 2022, Nemzzz collaborated with Stay Flee Get Lizzy and Knucks on the track “No Refunds.” Following this, he continued to release more singles including “LSW.” Come May 2023, Nemzzz released his first EP, titled Nemzzz Type Beat, which housed eight songs. Across the EP’s eight tracks, the rising artist took listeners on a voyage through his evolving musical landscapes, showcasing boundless versatility. He also proved his unmatched artistry and seamless mastery of the beat. Five months later, he dropped “Money and Vibes,” which was the lead single from his debut mixtape. This was swiftly followed by “8AM In Manny” released in November, which earned him praise from none other than Drake himself.
December 2023 saw the release of “Therapy,” adding to his growing repertoire. February 2024 brought the announcement of his mixtape Do Not Disturb, alongside the release of the single “L’s.” The momentum continued with the release of “PTSD” later that month. On March 15, 2024, Do Not Disturb was released, boasting features from Luciano and JayG. Just three days later, a deluxe edition was unveiled, featuring additional collaborations with K-Trap, Headie One, and Lil Yachty.
The impact of the mixtape was immediate, with Do Not Disturb debuting at number 17 on the UK Albums Chart. It also secured the number one spot on the UK R&B Albums Chart. Altogether, Nemzzz’s journey has been short, but effective. Between his collaborative efforts to solo releases, A-list co-signs, and a successful mixtape launch, it’s pretty clear the UK rapper has greater things incoming.

In the midst of Ye’s divorce from Kim Kardashian, the Chicago-born native made a bombshell allegation regarding Meek Mill and Kim. The Vultures 1 artist suggested that Kim attempted to make a move on Meek. “I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform,’” West wrote. “Meek is my man and was respectful. That’s my dog,” he added, before claiming that “Kim was out of line.” In response, Meek called “cap” and the tension between them seemed to have been put to an end.
October 7, 2022: Meek Mill Enters The Chat Amid White Lives Matter Controversy
In early October 2022, Kanye West held his Paris fashion show. There, he was spotted wearing a shirt that bore the phrase “White Lives Matter.” The rapper and record producer was also seen with the frequent controversy stirrer, Candace Owens. Unsurprisingly, she also donned the same shirt in white. Knowing the sentiments that phrase carries, it’s no surprise that there was immediate backlash.
One of the celebrities who called West out was Boosie. He tweeted: “@kanyewest AFTER ALL WE BEEN THROUGH AS A RACE YOU PUT THIS DISRESPECTFUL SHIT ON!! U GIVES NO FUCKS ABOUT HOW BLACKS HAVE DIED N SUFFERED TO THE HANDS OF THE WHITE MAN. N U SAY BUSH DONT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE…REALLY NIGGA.” A few days later, Kanye responded to Boosie’s tweet with a now-deleted tweet. He wrote: “Speak to me. Yeah little nerd ass me come smack me or come shoot me. I’m the one that got bullied by the entire black celebrity community now I’m back to shoot the school up.”
On October 7, 2022, Meek Mill joined the conversation and called Kanye West. He wrote a long post on his Instagram story speaking on how he felt about West’s tweet against Boosie. He wrote: “I used to listen to ye every night and jail for motivation on god. And came home and watched him shit on my name and brand like nothing. I ain’t say nothing, but I been knew you was on that nerd tryna shit on street N***as you just said it to Boosie… it hurts my heart to even know some of y’all this crazy and lame.”
October 16, 2022: The Infamous Drink Champs Interview
Days after Meek Mill’s Instagram statement, Kanye West went on Drink Champs. The entire interview was filled with outlandish comments from West, which caused the video to be taken down soon after it was uploaded. He not only made false claims about George Floyd’s death, but also made several anti-Semitic comments. To top it all off, Kanye brought also up Meek Mill’s name, labeling Meek a fed. “All you fake hard n***as, fuck you,” he said. “You can’t shoot nobody anyway, and the only reason you talk is because you did a deal you fucking fed.”
By November, Meek Mill released his freestyle music video for the track, “God Did.” The track centered on Meek Mill’s triumphs and tribulations. On it, he reflected on his modest origins, advocacy for prison reform, and subtle jabs aimed at the 2024 presidential hopeful. However, it was clear that Meek Mill also had some words for West that he needed to get off his chest.
He rapped: “I will never sell my soul for money, like I’m Kanye/ It’s crazy I used to bring you on my cell house on lock day/ Famous b**ches got my idols lookin’ at me sideways/ I don’t need no verses from you n***as, I did it my way.”
December 2022: Kanye Laughs At Meek Mill

During a conversation with Wack 100 on Clubhouse, West revisited the controversy surrounding his “White Lives Matter” t-shirt. He then directed his criticism towards Meek Mill, and couldn’t contain his laughter when the notion of Meek offering him advice was brought up. He said, laughing: “And I put White Lives Matter on a t-shirt. And they said, you know what let’s go get celebrities, let’s go get Puff Daddy, let’s get Dave Chappelle, let’s get Meek Mills. What makes somebody think Meek Mills can say something to me? This is the funniest thing. Yo man, I’m about to start crying laughing. Somebody thought Meek Mills? Sorry. I’m literally in tears. Somebody say, Meek Mills.”
That same day, Meek responded to West with a tweet that read: “Never lost my mind for fame or money. I still have my family… my people respect me… I’m freeing people from prison… I’m doing community service all month with children up close and personal.” He ended his message with the line, “I’m chilling wit my son and his friends today.. y’all on clubhouse at 50 lol.”
Kanye took to his Instagram account on March 11 to share a video commemorating the success of his latest chart-topper, “Carnival.” In his celebratory post, Ye took the opportunity to specifically mention Drake, Hailey Bieber, the Three Stripes brand, and several others. Around the same time, his interview with Big Boy launched where he delved into similar conspiracies about supposed “handlers” in the music industry, including the Philadelphia rapper. Meek Mill then took to X to speak on the matter. It was then that he stated that he was confused why their beef started.
He wrote: “I think Yeezy smart but be off a lil but because I bought like 17 pair of Yeezys since we been trading rap shots. And I listened to your music to get me through my bid you a super legend I was more confused of why you was going so hard to go at me in the beginning. When you see us going at it it’s always rap beef we know each other personally and would never let it go to far! It’s a bloody sport gotta be rough wit it.” Ye has yet to respond to the tweet.

Drake might be going through a tough time right now, but he at least has one person who is behind him, and that is YesJulz. She was posted up with her friends at the concert, and she seemed to be having a great time. Considering the hardship she probably went through during the Vultures rollout, one can imagine that the Drake show was a much-needed reprieve. Only time will tell if Drizzy hires her for his next album campaign.

While some relationships are happily ever after, it still seems like a bad idea to get your partner’s name tatted on you. Online there are hundreds and hundreds examples of people who got ink they eventually regretted as they moved on from the relationship it was based on. That was the case for Tammy Rivera who was married to rapper Waka Flocka for eight years. She has the rapper’s real name, Juaquin, tatted on her shoulder. Or at least she did until a few weeks ago when she revealed in an Instagram post that she’d had it covered up.
Now, Waka Flocka has followed in her footsteps. He also had a tat of her name, this time on his fingers. While parts of it were covered it parts were also repurposed into a new piece. For example the T in Tammy is now part of the word “Hits.” Across both of his hands it reads “Hits Squad.” The timing seems a little bit too close to be a coincidence. Last week, Waka Flocka popped up in a pretty unexpected place. Nicki Minaj played a pair of sold-out shows in Atlanta during her Pink Friday 2 tour stop in the seminal rap city. During the second show, Minaj was joined on stage by a pair of rap stars. First came 2 Chainz who joined Nicki for a performance of their collaboration “Beez In The Trap.” Later on, she brought out Waka to perform and also to show his love to Nicki with a heartfelt speech about her success.

Former daytime talk show host Wendy Williams finds herself embroiled in a legal battle as her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, attempted to halt the airing of the Lifetime docuseries “Where Is Wendy Williams?” The controversy arose after Morrissey filed an emergency injunction just days before the series was set to premiere, citing concerns over her portrayal in the documentary.
According to reports from The Wrap, Morrissey initially took issue with the docuseries after viewing its trailer in February. Feeling apprehensive about how she would be depicted in the series, Morrissey filed a petition against A&E Networks to prevent the airing of the show. The move came as a surprise to many, given that Morrissey had been aware of the documentary’s filming for over a year.
In response to Morrissey’s actions, A&E Networks filed a legal defense arguing that her attempt to silence criticism of her role in Wendy Williams’ life was unconstitutional. The network contended that Morrissey had ample time to address any concerns she had about the documentary, as she had been aware of its existence since at least February 2023. Additionally, A&E’s legal team highlighted that Williams had been compensated for her participation in the series.
