Ray J & Chrisean Rock TV Deal: Tronix Founder Urges Junior’s Mom To Work With Him

She’s only 24 years old, but Chrisean Rock still has a strong sense of independence about her. As a first-time mom, she has to look at the world completely differently than most others her age, particularly when it comes to finances. With her baby daddy behind bars, it’s more important than ever for Rock to keep her bank account stacked so she and Junior can live their best lives. Many are curious to see what’s next for the Baltimore native, especially now that she’s moving on from working with Zeus.

Lately, Rock’s been expressing interest in launching her own network to ensure the money she brings in for sharing her life matches her emotional and physical output. “Just letting y’all know I’m in my elevating era so popping off like I use to ain’t me no more,” the entertainer wrote on her Instagram Story earlier this month. “I’m into movies or something serious in the film production world. More likely to be on ‘BMF’ [than] a crouchy type ‘Bad Girls Club’ type of show again,” she added. Interestingly, “Sexy Can I” hitmaker Ray J thinks that Chrisean would be the perfect fit for his “ratchet” Tronix platform, and he wants to give her plenty of creative freedom.

“If somebody can find Chrisean and tell her let’s work something out, whatever she wants to do,” the L&HH star said on Instagram Live recently. “We’re different from other networks. She might be looking into her own [network]. Okay, cool! Look, it’s all good. I mean I got some powerhouse partners like Young Rich Mula and Stunna Girl. We locked in and they already got they network. We already helped create a whole streaming platform called Redrum TV.” Rather than having people fight for clout and money, Ray wants to help creators all have their own network so they can partner. “That’s the big play, that’s where everybody eats,” he insisted.

As Ray J continues to set his sights on securing the bag with stars like Chrisean Rock, his ex, Princess Love looks to be moving on for real this time after announcing their separation on social media (again). This time, the rumour mill is linking the 39-year-old to actor John Boyega after they were spotted on a night out together. See how Ray reacted to those allegations at the link below, and let us know what kind of show you’d like to see Rock on next in the comments.

Mase Reacts To Diddy Home Raids: “Reparations Is Getting Closer”

Earlier this week, Diddy’s myriad of legal issues got all the more interesting, as his Miami and LA homes were raided by Homeland Security. Reportedly, the raids were linked to a federal human trafficking investigation. The Bad Boy Records founder’s lawyer has since dubbed the raids an “unprecedented ambush,” accusing officials of using excessive force. Diddy has maintained his innocence.

Regardless, countless social media users and peers have been weighing in on the shocking development. Most recently, Cam’ron and Mase reacted to the raids on an episode of It Is What It Is, though they refrained from naming any names. “Reparations is getting closer and closer,” Mase said, joking that he’d share a percentage with his co-host. “I have nothing to do with that money, that’s all yours man,” Cam’ron responded, with Mase adding, “Big payback.”

Cam’ron & Mase Joke About Diddy’s Homes Being Raided

While many of Diddy’s celebrity peers have continued to troll him following the raids, others have come to his defense. Floyd MayweatherSlim Thug, and more have shown their support in recent days. Tyrese even took to Instagram yesterday to praise him for throwing “the most legendary parties.”

“I don’t condone nor do I support abuse, bullying sexual assault or anything that is currently being alleged but what I can’t do is turn the blinds on how much this mean to me and all of us, and what he has done for the community of music and culture,” he wrote. “I’m praying for Diddy his kids, his family, his mother, and all of the alleged victims that’s in the middle of trying to simply have their voices to be heard.” What do you think of Homeland Security raiding Diddy’s homes? Are you surprised? What about Cam’ron and Mase’s reactions? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Rappers With Their Own Music Festivals

In this post-pandemic world, we are now seeing more festivals than ever before, especially those helmed by artists themselves. Both longtime staples triumphantly returned and brand new events launched to impressive outcomes. In this exciting emergence and reactivation of the live music scene, plenty of musicians have started their festivals, especially rappers who’ve curated their own events. Many rappers’ festivals see them as headliners, giving back to their hometowns and recruiting special guests for a joyful weekend of live music. From Live Nation-sponsored festivals in the United States to major events abroad, hip-hop artists with their musical events are becoming increasingly more common. Today, we are taking a look at seven rappers with their own music festivals. Take a look at the list below.

J. Cole

J. Cole has been organizing Dreamville Fest in his home state of North Carolina since 2018. Despite the cancellation of its inaugural show due to inclement weather, it has become a staple in the world of hip-hop festivals. The annual two-day event takes place in Raleigh during either the first or second weekend in April. The lineups are consistently stacked and always make sure to showcase the Dreamville roster. The label’s artists such as Bas, Cozz, Omen, Ari Lennox, Lute, J.I.D., and EARTHGANG typically perform during the day while J. Cole headlines. Besides Cole, previous performers include Usher, Burna Boy, SZA, Lil Wayne, and Wizkid. Last year, J. Cole and Drake performed a co-headlining set. Dreamville Fest 2024 takes place April 6-7. Performers include SZA, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, ScHoolboy Q, and of course, J. Cole and the Dreamville roster.

JAY-Z

JAY-Z first launched Made In America in 2012. The two-day festival has always taken place at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia over Labor Day Weekend. There also was once a Los Angeles edition in 2014 that ran concurrently with its East Coast counterpart. While JAY-Z has headlined the festival multiple times, Made In America has hosted other notable performers. Pearl Jam, Beyoncé, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and Rihanna have all headlined the main stage, just to name a few. While Made In America continues to bring big names and famous rappers to Philadelphia, the festival’s 2023 edition was canceled last year. Their statement cited “severe circumstances outside of production control.” SZA and Lizzo were set to headline. Made In America is set to return this year.

Lil Wayne

Since 2015, Lil Wayne has brought his annual Lil Weezyana Fest to his hometown of New Orleans. The rap legend always takes top billing on the one-day festival’s lineup. It typically takes place in August, though it was once postponed to October. At Lil Weezyana Fest, Wayne is joined by additional hip-hop performers, as well as surprise guests. Last year, Moneybagg Yo, Coi Leray, Babyface Ray, and Rob 49 performed. Drake appeared as a special guest during Wayne’s set at the festival’s 2022 edition. While Lil Weezyana Fest did not take place last year, fans can hope for the rapper’s annual festival to return in 2024.

The Roots

Out of the many music festivals owned by rappers, few have been around as long as the Roots Picnic. Organized by Questlove, Black Thought, and the other members of The Roots, the annual Philadelphia festival has been around since 2008. Since its inception 16 years ago, the festival has grown immensely, expanding into two days and moving to a larger venue. The Roots Picnic now takes place at The Mann at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia during the first weekend of June.

The festival’s lineups often reach beyond hip-hop, including R&B, jazz, go-go, reggae, and more. They even have a podcast stage. At the festival, Black Thought orchestrates his “live mixtape” with special guests, rapping over their catalog. This year, he will perform alongside Method Man and Redman. The Roots Picnic’s 2024 lineup will include performances from Jill Scott, Lil Wayne and The Roots, Nas, Victoria Monét, and more.

Tyler, The Creator

One of the biggest rapper-owned music festivals is Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. The event originally started in 2012 as a one-day festival, featuring performances primarily from the members of Odd Future. It has since grown exponentially in size and attendance, expanding into a two-day festival in 2016. In addition to its incredibly stacked lineups, Camp Flog Gnaw features carnival games and rides, including its signature Ferris Wheel. While it has moved locations over time, the festival takes place in Los Angeles in the fall. Tyler curates its eclectic lineup, and usually headlines one day. Last year, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem performed as The Hillbillies, as did Kali Uchis, Clipse, SZA, and Earl Sweatshirt. While no lineup has been announced for 2024, fans can expect an all-star lineup at the next Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival.

Stormzy

Early into his career, Stormzy started his very own #Merky Festival. The rapper’s one-day festival is usually held in early July at Ibiza Rocks. #Merky Festival offers fans a summertime experience in Ibiza for UK rap fans. Its lineup consists of British hip-hop, grime, and afro-swing artists. Unlike most festivals, #Merky is a pool party, with many sets being performed poolside. In addition to #Merky Festival, Stormzy recently partnered with the British festival All Points East to put on This Is What We Mean Day. The rapper’s one-day festival took place last year in his hometown of London and is named after his latest album, This Is What I Mean. Kehlani, Sampha, Knucks, and more performed while Stormzy headlined.

Skepta

Skepta is one of the latest rappers to launch his very own music festival. The inaugural Big Smoke Festival will take place Saturday, July 6 at Crystal Palace Park in London, where the grime legend will headline. The Streets, Mahalia, and JME will perform on one stage, which features a grime set with Frisco, Flowdan, and more. Additionally, performances at the Big Smoke Festival will happen at the Más Tiempo Stage, named after Skepta and Jammer’s new house music project and record label. The two will DJ individual sets, as will other dance music acts. There is a special guest on the Big Smoke Festival lineup that has yet to be announced. Skepta’s first annual music festival is one of many rapper-curated events to look forward to in 2024.

Tyrese Voices Support For Diddy Following House Raids, Recalls “The Most Legendary Parties”

Tyrese spoke out in support of Diddy on Instagram, on Tuesday, a day after federal agents raided the Bad Boy mogul’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. While he says he doesn’t condone the things of which Diddy is accused, he still stands by him.

“What I can’t do and what I won’t do is downplay the laughter, the fun, the energy, the inspiration, the award shows the studio sessions the most legendary parties and events I’ve ever attended in my life, and I also can’t act as if my high school backyard parties throughout south central LA wasn’t the craziest parties ever because of the Bad Boy on slew of hit records,” Tyrese began. “I don’t condone nor do I support abuse, bullying sexual assault or anything that is currently being alleged but what I can’t do is turn the blinds on how much this mean to me and all of us, and what he has done for the community of music and culture.”

He continued: “I’m the only one crazy enough to jump out there and say what most of you want to say but you don’t have the balls to do so because it’s very normal for people to be going through a rough patch and we all sit back and make a mockery of it but I’m not gonna do that i’m praying for Diddy his kids, his family, his mother, and all of the alleged victims that’s in the middle of trying to simply have their voices to be heard. I love this brother he’s been nothing but kind and generous towards me and that’s the way I feel praying and praying for more of a better outcome of all of this is happening. God bless you Diddy. If you ever need to call me and just need a listening here I’m right here bro.”

Juvenile Commemorates 25 Years Of “400 Degreez” With New Music Video

1990s Southern hip-hop star Juvenile had one of the hottest records in the latter part of that decade. 400 Degreez is his most popular offering of his career and is an essential tape from that era. It is currently four times platinum by the RIAA and has some of the New Orleans native’s biggest hits. “Back That Azz Up,” “Ha,” and the title track are the most popular in terms of streaming as of now. However, the latter of them, “400 Degreez,” has just received the music video treatment over two decades later.

Furthermore, the rapper is going to be dropping a deluxe edition digitally and physically. The streaming version will hit platforms this Friday, March 29. Even Ice Cube Has Caitlin Clark Fever, Inviting The Iowa Star To Play In The BIG3 For $5 Million

To say that Caitlin Clark might be the biggest star in women’s basketball at the moment feels like an understatement of the order of saying something like “the sun is very large and very hot.” Besides being inadequate to describe the phenomenon in question, it’s also horrendously obvious.

Case in point, Clark Fever (Mania?) is at such all-time highs, even men’s sports leagues want in on the action. Ice Cube, proprietor of the innovative BIG3 league, even offered Clark $5 million to play in the BIG3 this summer. According to TMZ, the deal would be for eight regular-season games and two possible playoff games, while still allowing her to play in the WNBA.

Cube explained providing the offer, saying, “Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the BIG3. With our offer, Caitlin Clark can make history and break down even more barriers for women athletes.” He even got polictical, rightly pointing out that women “should have more than just one professional option in the US at a time when American pro sports leagues are being infiltrated by autocratic, anti-women regimes such as Qatar.” The specter of Brittney Griner’s recent ordeal looms large.

While we’re sure that he’s making this offer in good faith (despite bypassing no small number of Clark’s fellow stars), it seems … unlikely that Clark would be able to play in BIG3 and WNBA at the same time, as their seasons greatly overlap. Intriguingly, though, only two BIG3 games overlap with games for the Indiana Fever, the team that seems most likely to land Clark in this season’s upcoming draft. The additional travel and game wear doesn’t eem like it’d be quite worth it, but hey, stranger things have happened in Indiana (ba-dum, tsss).

However, one place Cube’s statement is thankfully inaccurate is that there is more than one women’s basketball option for players opting out of overseas play. The Athletes Unlimited Pro Hoops league just concluded its third season this past weekend. So, if Clark wants to stay sharp, she certainly has at least one other option in 2025.

Drake Reveals The Reason He Got His Tooth Diamond Removed

The race for increasingly elaborate and distinctive jewelry has led rappers to some very strange places in the past few years. Nobody has wandered further than Lil Uzi Vert who notoriously got a $2 million diamond implanted in their forehead. That seemed to go about as well as everyone expected to. And now Drake is once again providing a cautionary tale of body jewelry. He commented under a post where British comedian Mo Gilligan told a story. The story is about a misconception spawning from the rapper’s tooth gem.

In the clip, one of Mo’s friends tries to tell Drake he has something stuck in his teeth. After repeated attempts to remove it, whatever he’s seeing is still there. That’s when the rap hitmaker realizes that it’s his tooth gem that is being mistaken for food in his teeth. In the comments of the post, he opens up on that bring a primary reason he ultimately got rid of the gem. “I actually got that diamond changed after this interaction cause this was the 10th time someone said it was food,” his comment under the post reads. Check out the full story Mo told and Drizzy’s comment response below.

Drake On Why He Got His Tooth Gem Removed

Drake is fresh off of a weekend where he found himself at the center of the biggest story in rap. That came after Kendrick Lamar dropped a featured verse on the new Future and Metro Boomin album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. On his guest verse, he calls out both Drake and J. Cole and denounces the whole concept of a “big three” in contemporary hip-hop.

Speculation has already begun about a potential response from Drake. During a recent livestream DJ Akademiks made the claim that because nobody has released an entire song yet, Drizzy has no time limit for his response. What do you think of Drake getting his tooth gem removed because people kept mistaking it for food in his teeth? Do you think you’d ever get a tooth gem? Let us know in the comment section below.

Kodak Black & 6ix9ine Collab Sent Former’s Career On Downward Spiral, Boosie Badazz Says

Boosie Badazz is a man with no shortage of opinions, and one person who’s always happy to hear them is DJ Vlad. Last year, the Louisana-bred rapper revealed he reportedly makes $500K from the media outlet for sitting down with journalists to discuss ongoing events and his contemporaries. On Monday (March 25), VladTV shared a new clip from a conversation with Boosie, this one focusing on Kodak Black’s diss on his “11AM in Malibu” song, which came out back in February.

According to the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker, their ongoing drama is because Yak still feels a way about Boosie’s reaction to his collaboration with 6ix9ine. “What I said really affected him,” he told Vlad. “He not letting it go. What I said about [‘Shaka Laka’], it seem like since then, he been downhill. I think he regret what he did with Tekashi,” the 41-year-old went on.

Boosie Badazz and DJ Vlad Discuss Kodak Black’s Career

The Florida and New York track arrived in the summer of 2023, shortly after 6ix9ine experienced a brutal deatdown at a gym in Kodak’s home state. At the time, Boosie made it known that he wasn’t impressed with the young MC’s decision, leading to them trading shots online and in the studio. Since the “Mind of a Maniac” artist’s latest thoughts hit the blogs, we have yet to hear a response from Bill Kapri, but we’ll keep you posted on the latest as it comes.

While Boosie has his own reasons for detesting anyone who collaborates with 6ix9ine, it’s hard to deny that he makes some valid points. Kodak Black’s behaviour as of late has left many confused, from being arrested while sleeping in a vehicle earlier this year to seemingly rekindling his relationship with Mellow Rackz shortly after welcoming a baby with Maranda Johnson. Read all about the latter situation at the link below, and let us know if you think Yak can make a comeback musically in the comments.
