While the YSL RICO trial has been filled with unexpected twists and turns, music releases from Young Thug have been steady and seamless.

Today (September 27), yet another special guest verse from Young Thug hit streaming platforms, this time courtesy of Nigo’s “Dope Boy.” The track proves that Lil Uzi Vert isn’t the only rapper with endless fashion.

On the record, Young Thug shows off his eye for designer duds and extravagant jewelry, a.k.a the quintessential dope boy fly uniform.

“Dope boy Nike, spikes, they can’t spy, kid / Lawnmower service, I ain’t have to sell white-tee’s / Orange and blue Richard Mille, feel like Spike Lee / Put my daughter in Fendi blankets when she night-nighty,” raps Young Thug.

Although the song only runs for a little over a minute and a half, that’s just enough of a treat to hold Young Thug fans over. Also, it is unclear if this song is the starting point for Young Thug’s next full-length project.

If not, that doesn’t matter much, as Young Thug fans are still running up the streaming numbers on beloved his 2023 release, Business Is Business, which featured appearances by Drake, Future, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and more.

Legendary fashion designer Nigo is dipping his toes back into the music world. In 2022, he released I Know Nigo!, a DJ Khaled-like compilation album with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, and Pharrell are among the names who appeared on that project. Now, Nigo appears to be continuing to work with hip-hop’s superstars. “Dope Boy,” the lead single from his upcoming third album, features Young Thug. The track, which is produced by Wheezy, finds Thug in familiar territory.

Young Thug’s performance on “Dope Boy” highlights aspects of his signature style, but it’s not quite a trademark Thug track. It is much less of a melodic performance from Thug and more of a focused rap effort from the Atlanta superstar. Lyrically, he touches on themes of luxury, family, and street life. Those topics are not new ground for Thug, but it’s a punchy track that sounds good. It’s also a quick track, as it’s only one verse and runs for just over 90 seconds. As Young Thug continues to battle a racketeering case in Georgia, a new album is probably the least of his worries right now. However, a strong appearance on Nigo’s upcoming work should be enough to keep fans somewhat happy while they wait for a verdict in the longest trial in state history. Young Thug Seemingly Calls Mariah The Scientist Mid-Interview, But Fans Are Skeptical

Mariah The Scientist and Latto spilled some relationship tea on both ends during their appearance-slash-interview on Angel Reese’s podcast. However, one of the most notable moments of the whole thing was when they seemingly manifested the guest appearance of one of the boos in question. Moreover, Young Thug apparently called Mariah from prison mid-conversation. While it was a wholesome moment – albeit a “ghetto” one according to the singer – some fans in the comments section of the post below (and online in general) expressed skepticism over their relationship and what their bond is actually like. Also, they took the opportunity to offer their unprompted views of their bond.

Nevertheless here’s what Mariah The Scientist had to say about Young Thug during this podcast appearance. “So, I be going to court…” she remarked when asked if she finds it hard to connect with him amid his RICO case, acknowledging that it can feel like a long-distance relationship. “Sometimes I fall asleep in there. Mariah The Scientist Gets A Call From Young Thug

“FYI, I see what y’all be saying…” Mariah The Scientist elaborated in a Shade Room comments section when their post about her comments had folks criticizing their relationship. “Nobody wakes up and hopes to have to see somebody they love in court or at a jail every day. Just chill on the judgement. Maybe u would understand if u were in my shoes but I won’t wish that on you. In fact, I’m very optimistic for my own situation.” However, a lot of fans raised their eyebrows recently when a random woman posted a very loving tribute to Thugger online, which led them to believe that he’s got a side chick.

Still, Young Thug did post Mariah The Scientist on Instagram in a pretty lustful way shortly after this speculation broke, so it seems like he wanted to make his commitment clear. Latto and Mariah The Scientist were the most recent guests on Angel Reese’s Unapologetically Angel podcast, and their tea spillage raised a lot of fans’ eyebrows. Let’s start with the latter, who’s in a very public relationship with Young Thug. The basketball star asked her if she finds it hard to stay connected with Thugger amid his prison time and ongoing RICO trial. “So, I be going to court…” the singer replied while acknowledging how long-distance it feels. “Sometimes I fall asleep in there. Young Thug Trial Update: Witness’ Lawyer Pleads For Client’s Life Amid Health Issues In Jail

The Young Thug and YSL RICO trial faces yet another obstacle. Moreover, it concerns state witness Quindarrius “Lil Dee” Zachary, also known as QZ. Authorities arrested him on a material witness warrant over a 2015 shooting and kept him in custody despite him reportedly going in and out of the hospital ten times over four months due to his serious medical condition. His lawyer appeared in court today (Monday, September 16) to plead for QZ’s release due to this illness, claiming that he will die if he remains in Fulton County. The judge posited that QZ is back at Grady Hospital, and the attorney said that he wasn’t aware of this development.

Apparently, the lawyer had talked to QZ’s family the night before, and other reports suggest that he was still in prison at 2AM on Monday. Elsewhere during the Young Thug trial today, they heard from other witnesses concerning the 2015 shooting, including police officers Adrian Pitts and Alford Turner. This also comes amid other Thugger stories, such as Wallo’s claims that the rapper made $1 million at a Rolling Loud performance. Also, the podcaster recalled how he warned Thug about how his crew was a liability.

Young Thug Trial Witness Is Allegedly At Risk Of Losing His Life Over Health Condition While In Custody

As far as the YSL RICO trial itself, some folks like DJ Akademiks think that Young Thug doesn’t have much hope. “As far as the trial, s**t show,” he told DJ Vlad. “What’s most likely gonna happen, I 100% do believe that he’s gonna be found guilty. They’re throwing everything and the kitchen sink… So much taxpayer money has gone into it, they don’t want to do a mistrial at this point. I think it’s gonna be guilty but I think it’s gonna be overturned on appeal and I think once it’s overturned on appeal, absolutely not they will not try it again.”

Others, though, are more positive, such as trial witness Lil Woody. “Father God we need you now more than ever I pray that you answer our prayer and free [Young Thug] & co-defendants,” he wrote on Instagram. “The world has seen the treatment our justice system has done to us lock us up forced us to tell untruthful stories. The mistreatment is cr*zy. Wrong is wrong we have sympathy for all the victims and their families as kids bad choices and punishment is acceptable but this is a different story this is corruption this is madness and very personal.”

Woman’s Young Thug Tribute Sparks Relationship Rumors As Fans Tag Mariah The Scientist

Since Young Thug is unfortunately still behind bars, we can’t really get many life updates from him that fall outside of his RICO case alongside YSL. As such, whenever they do allegedly pop up, they always have to come accompanied by a huge grain of salt. The latest example of this is an Instagram tribute to Thugger from a woman named Daisy, writing “Free Jeffery” and a rendition of a snake in a pool full of flowers. Of course, this prompted a whole lot of relationship rumors and speculation that he had another woman in his life that wasn’t his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist.

As such, fans tagged Mariah in this post incessantly, but this is all too unclear and vague to really call either way. We know that Young Thug has had many partners in the past, and it’s impossible to know who he’s still in contact with. The last development that we got concerning his RICO case is DJ Akademiks’ belief that he will be found guilty. Other than that and other social media discussions, not much has happened over the past week or so.

Young Thug Tribute Has Fans Asking Mariah The Scientist To Explain

However, no matter how much or how little happens in court, we know that Mariah The Scientist has always been there to support Young Thug through it all. In fact, she even formed part of a big development in this story when a jail call between the couple leaked online. They were very flirtatious during it, leading to a lot of memes on social media. Still, both took it in stride, and we haven’t gotten a whole lot of new information on their bond since then beyond Mariah’s recent court appearance to support her boo.

We’ll see what happens with Daisy and whether or not there’s some spicy tea to uncover. The most likely scenario is that we’re just exaggerating and reading too deeply into this… But you never know. Meanwhile, Young Thug also made sure to express his support to other Black men who faced controversial run-ins with the law. Young Thug Tweets Out Support For Tyreek Hill After Police Detainment

Young Thug has his hands full. The rapper is currently facing RICO charges, and if convicted, he will go away for an estimated 120 years. That said, Thug took time out of his tight schedule to give a shout out to Tyreek Hill. The NFL superstar got into trouble with the law on September 8, following a traffic stop. Hill was released after receiving a citation, but the media fallout from the athlete’s interaction with the police has been sizable. Young Thug noticed, and showed love to his celebrity peer once he was in the clear.

Young Thug’s tweet got right to the point. “The Cheetah’s free,” he wrote, referencing Tyreek Hill’s nickname. The association may seem tenuous, but Hill has actually voiced support for Young Thug’s cause in the past. Following the Dolphins’ first game of the season, Hill participated in an on the field interview with CBS. The superstar athlete avoided questions regarding the arrest. Instead, he sang the praises of those in his life, and gave a special tip of the cap to Young Thug. Hill wiped his nose and said “SLATT” directly into the camera before resuming his celebration. “SLATT” is a phrase commonly used by Young Thug and the rest of the YSL group.

Young Thug Got A Shout Out From Hill In Return

Tyreek Hill’s traffic stop occurred on Sunday afternoon. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver was detained by police outside of the Hard Rock Stadium right before the game started. ESPN reported that Hill was driving erratically without a seatbelt on. He also had fellow Dolphins teammate, Calais Campbell, riding shotgun. The body cam footage shows that the interaction between Hill and the police escalated when the former opened up his car door. The police then dragged him from the vehicle and pushed him to the ground. Tyreek Hill can be heard telling his agent (who was on the phone) that he was getting arrested.

The union representing the Miami-Dade Police Department issued a statement following Tyreek Hill’s detainment. The statement clarified that Hill was never placed under arrest. It also characterized the NFL star as “uncooperative” with the officers who were on the scene. “Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers,” the rep claimed. “[He] refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground.” Young Thug’s legal issues persist, but at least Hill’s appear to be behind him.

The alleged death of Rich Homie Quan sent the hip-hop world into a mournful state of shock recently, and for good reason. While this news is still mysterious and mostly speculative, as we don’t have any official confirmation or cause of death, it still inspired many tributes and homages on social media. One of the prevailing narratives around this concerns RHQ’s strong collaborative bond with Young Thug, one that eventually fell out of favor for relatively unknown reasons. In fact, just a few days before news of his passing broke, he had expressed a willingness to have a conversation with Thug to release more music together during an interview.

“And I heard you once say, ‘Screaming Free Thugger,’ right?” the interviewer asked Rich Homie Quan. “Is there any chance that at some point in the future, either be unreleased music or whatnot, that we’ll hear y’all on a song together again?” “Um, that I don’t know,” he responded. “Because we do have a lot of unreleased. Rich Homie Quan Speaks On Young Thug Relationship

In other YSL-related news, Lil Woody recently paid tribute to Rich Homie Quan. “RIP,” he wrote in an Instagram post that featured a picture of the reportedly late rapper and Young Thug. “I hate this happen I pray that God protect thug and them from this country.”

Elsewhere, many more loved ones, collaborators, and famous figures are making sure to send their love to Rich Homie Quan online. The circumstances behind all this are still very unclear. Travis Scott Shares An Earlier Young Thug Joint Effort With “Too Many Options”

Travis Scott is really dishing out something for everybody. During this DAYS BEFORE RODEO rerelease, he’s put together all sorts of packages. Vinyl and CD bundles with apparel were the first to come, which are something he’s been doing for quite some time. But last night was arguably the best time to cop something. La Flame put out a total of six versions of the 2014 mixtape, four of which included tracks from the vault. Around the DBR era, it was clear that the Houston native wanted to develop a solid rapport with the Atlanta scene, particularly Young Thug. Travis Scott has a handful tracks with him on these “Vault” exclusives, and one of our favorites is “Too Many Options”.

This one was a part of the third deluxe, which came with the solo cut “Naughty”. Right away, this “Too Many Options” sound extremely familiar. If you were able to pick up on it like we did, you may notice that it sounds like “Where U From” off of Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho. It was the second-to-last track off of the 2017 Quavo collab tape that featured a hazy country trap aesthetic.
