Nipsey Hussle Wax Figure Impresses Atlanta Fans At Invest Fest

In March 2019, Nipsey Hussle’s life was tragically cut short, but his legacy lives on. The West Coast icon continues to get the recognition he deserves for his contributions to hip-hop and more, most recently at Invest Fest in Atlanta. In a clip making its rounds online, a Nipsey Hussle wax figure is unveiled at the event, and the crowd goes wild.

Earn Your Leisure CEO Rashad Bilal teamed up with Microsoft and The Marathon, the late rapper’s clothing company, for the $100K Nipsey Hussle Business Grant. The grant went to one lucky entrepreneur to grow their business. Bilal chatted with REVOLT about the partnership last month. He revealed that it all stemmed from his interview with Nipsey’s brother, Blacc Sam. “When we were putting together the Invest Fest lineup, I definitely wanted The Marathon to be a part of it in some capacity,” he explained. “The first idea was to have The Marathon as a pop-up shop. But Sam wanted to do something more impactful than just have merch there.”

Mr. Officials Honors Nipsey Hussle With Wax Figure

“So, I just thought we should have a pitch competition,” Bilal continued. “I proposed it to The Marathon team, and they liked it. After that, we spoke with Microsoft, and they also agreed to provide some funding for it. So that was helpful.” The Nipsey Hussle wax figure was created by Mr. Officials, who’s done wax figures of Takeoff, Lil Wayne, and more.

He was also one of the four finalists to join the pitch competition for the Nipsey Hussle Business Grant this weekend. According to him, it took nine months to complete. While the grant went to Divine Luminance Juices in the end, he said he still “[feels] like a winner” in a recent Instagram Story. Beyonce’s New Wax Figure Leaves Fans Confused: “That’s Becky”

It goes without saying that replicating Beyonce with wax would be a pretty tough feat. Recently, however, the Grévin Museum in Paris has earned a great deal of backlash for what fans think is a wildly off-base depiction of the icon. They unveiled the new wax figure earlier today. Social media users were quick to call them out, accusing them of whitewashing the multi-hyphenate.

“Baby that’s Addison Rae,” one Instagram user writes in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section. “That’s Becky not Beyonce,” someone else jokes. Others are questioning why the figure’s skin tone was made lighter than the actual Bey’s, and have been reminded of similar instances involving other celebrities. Last year, for example, the same museum unveiled a wax figure of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, which some thought more closely resembled Mr. Clean.

Grévin Museum Unveils New Beyonce Wax Figure

The Rock himself responded to the uproar, revealing that he and his team planned to reach out to the museum to ask them to change some “important details,” including his skin color. The museum ended up fixing the wax figure, and acknowledging that it was “indeed whiter than it should have been.” According to them, the mistake was made due to the reference photo they chose to use, and how “tricky” lighting can be sometimes. It’s unclear whether or not Beyonce plans to do something similar. She’s yet to address the debacle at the time of writing.

Back in 2017, Madame Tussauds also displayed a Beyonce wax figure that led to a tremendous amount of criticism. Again, fans demanded a “re-do,” insisting that both her features and skin tone were not being accurately portrayed. The museum later announced that the figure’s styling and lighting would be “adjusted.” What do you think of the Grévin Museum’s new Beyonce wax figure? What about social media users’ reactions to it? Drake’s New Wax Figure Unveiled At Madame Tussauds New York

It’s no secret that Drake’s been making headlines a lot these days for various different reasons. The hitmaker was wrapped up in a heated lyrical battle with Kendrick Lamar in recent months, for one, which nearly everyone had an opinion on. This included Rick Ross, who was just beaten down by a few alleged Drake fans in Vancouver over the weekend. Drizzy has yet to officially address the debacle, though he did look relatively unbothered last night celebrating Canada Day alongside Kevin Durant.

Of course, his current virality makes him a perfect candidate for Madame Tussauds, recently prompting the NYC museum to unveil a brand-new Drake wax figure. Reportedly, they also just revamped the museum portion of the museum, which the unveiling was part of. He’s depicted wearing a khaki jacket and jeans, positioned alongside the likes of Beyonce, Harry Styles, and more.

Drake Wax Figure Sparks Debate

As expected, the new wax figure has prompted mixed reactions among social media users, who are weighing in under a post by Baller Alert. While some think the artist behind the portrayal nailed it, others think it could use some work. Many even argue that it more closely resembles other artists, like French Montana or Bad Bunny. “Aubrey Montana,” one fan jokes. “Close enough,” someone else says.

This is far from the first time one of Madame Tussauds’ figures sparked a debate among social media users, however. Earlier this month, they unveiled a wax figure of Rihanna, which left fans similarly split. Some insist that it’s a spitting image of the Fenty icon, while others think that something went terribly wrong. What do you think of Madame Tussauds New York unveiling a new Drake wax figure? How does it look? Did they nail it or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Rihanna’s “Diabolical” New Wax Figure Has Fans Disturbed

Recently, Madame Tussauds unveiled yet another one of their famous wax figures, this time replicating none other than Rihanna. The interpretation shows the songstress in a lilac sweatsuit and a pair of matching heels, rocking long dark hair, and a sassy pose. Of course, where there’s art there are critics, and social media users are certainly not feeling this latest portrayal of the Fenty queen herself.

The Neighborhood Talk shared a photo of the wax figure today, and fans are making their opinions known. “A 20 buck H&M tracksuit on a billionaire is diabolical,” one Instagram commenter writes alongside a laughing emoji. Another simply says, “Leave me alone.”

Fans Aren’t Feeling Madame Tussauds Rihanna Interpretation

While some commenters have taken issue with the wax figure’s outfit, others claim that it seems to resemble another female celeb more than it does Rihanna. “Get em GLO!” one user jokes. “That is literally GloRilla but ok,” someone else adds. Clearly, Madame Tussauds was just trying to show RiRi some love, but fans can’t help but think that something went terribly wrong in the process. Luckily, this isn’t the first time the iconic museum has unveiled a Rihanna wax figure, and supporters seem to agree that their previous attempts have been far more successful.

Late last year, for example, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong displayed a Rihanna wax figure, depicting the performer in the bright orange outfit she rocked at a 2020 FENTY pop-up launch. At the time, fans praised the artist behind the realistic figure for nailing everything from her hair to her makeup look, with some even claiming that they mistook the figure for a photo of the real Rihanna. What do you think of Madame Tussauds’ new Rihanna wax figure? What about all of the criticism it’s receiving online? Did they do the icon dirty? Beyonce Wax Figure Looks More Like Other Celebs, Social Media Says

Many have tried to imitate Beyonce over the years, but none have succeeded as flawlessly as they’d hoped – including Madame Tussauds. The world-famous wax museum has made numerous statues of the “Halo” hitmaker for their locations all across the globe, some more flattering than others. Their latest take on Queen B debuted today (February 8) in Blackpool. Now that photos of the creation are making rounds online, debate is ensuing about which other celebrities the waxwork looks more like.

On one hand, some think that this might be the closest Tussauds has come to bringing Beyonce to life. Others, however, think the brand has work to do in terms of the mother of three’s face card. Thankfully, her RENAISSANCE Era outfit was perfectly on point, and her hair looked as fabulous as ever. As you might’ve heard, Bey announced just a few days ago that her Cecred line is coming soon to help keep all of her fans’ manes looking full, fresh, and healthy.

At the same time that Bey arrived at the Blackpool museum, they also welcomed a new figure of pop sensation Lady Gaga. She and the Houston native previously worked together on “Telephone,” and now they’re sharing space again on the floor of the UK venue. It seems that little has been said about the House of Gucci actresses’ waxwork online, as it’s relatively close to her actual appearance.

Social Media Reacts

“They can never get her face right,” one Twitter/X user wrote after seeing Madame Tussaud’s latest attempt at recreating Beyonce’s beauty. Elsewhere, others pointed out that the statue seems to more closely resemble R&B songstress Tinashe, or King of Queens starlet Leah Remini. The hair and body are pretty close to Beyonce’s, but there’s obviously still work to be done in other areas. Takeoff Wax Figure’s Creation Detailed In New Video: Watch

Artist mr.officials.llc recently uploaded a video on how they crafted the first-ever Takeoff wax figure and the emotive context behind it. For those unaware, Takeoff is a former member of the Migos, one of the most influential and impactful Southern rap groups of all time, alongside his uncle Quavo and Offset. Tragically, he passed away in November of 2022 following a shootout which caught him in the crossfire. This tragedy, in addition to the Georgia native’s musical legacy, makes him a much-missed and much-beloved figure in the culture for generations to come. Through the clip’s narration, his wax figure’s creator spoke on what the process means to him.

“I haven’t posted in a while and here’s why,” they began their narration of the Takeoff video. “I’m grieving and I’m mourning and I didn’t even know it. Some of you may or may not notice that I’m closing my business after three years. I’m losing my car, it’s on its last wheel. I’m driving a 14-year-old car and I soon won’t have that. I’ll be homeless if all goes well. Now before you begin to feel sorry for me, I’m okay. My gift will make room for me because it always has, and even with all my losses I still believe that this is my year.

“I’ve heard God say over and over, ‘Finish what you started,’” they said of the Takeoff piece. “So I thought well maybe I could finish some sculptures. I could finish working on some projects that I started on, but it’s way too expensive and like I said, I need a new car. He kept saying to me, ‘This is not about you. Your gift is to inspire. Finish what you started.’ So, as I continue to finish working on projects, I begin to grieve and mourn the individuals that I was working on. Crying while creating, this young man I’ve been working on is deceased, and yet I still feel a sense to pray for him.

“Praying for his soul, praying for his family, friends and band members,” they concluded. “That’s when it hit me. This will be the year that I take off. God was using me in the life and legacy of the late rapper Takeoff to let me know that he has not forgotten about me. And what’s funny is this isn’t even my prayer. My prayer is not to have a new house or a new car or a new business. My prayer is for this to be your year of Takeoff. Your job will go to another level. Your marriage will go to another level. Even your finances and health will increase. I believe that this will be the year to Takeoff.”
