Kanye West Flew Coach To New York City To See Kim Kardashian On ‘SNL’

On the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian recalls making her debut on Saturday Night Live. Though she and ex-husband Kanye West had been separated at the time, West allegedly flew to New York City from Los Angeles to support Kardashian on her big night.

On The Kardashians, Kim said, “He literally took a coach, commercial flight, sat in a seat next to the bathroom. […] He said he didn’t sleep all night long just so he can get in town early enough to meet up with Dave [Chappelle] and go over jokes and really, like, help.”

Despite West’s efforts, the two did not reconcile, per Kim’s established boundaries. “Kanye and I are staying at separate hotels,” she said. “I’ve been really clear with him as far as, like, where we stand in our relationship.”

Before Kardashian’s appearance on SNL and before West released his 10th album, Donda, the two hadn’t spoken in eight months, as Kardashian said on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast to host Amanda Hirsch.

“We went about eight months without even speaking to each other at the beginning of the divorce,” Kardashian said. “And then, you know, we started talking again and I went to the Donda premiere. He would still see the kids and stuff, just him and I took a minute of not talking. And I think it all, in relationships, it’ll be like that. I only hope for, I hope we are the ‘co-parenting goals’ at the end of the day.”

Earlier this month, West dropped out of a headlining slot at Coachella. Rapper Fivio Foreign tweeted that West “is on a Island relaxing clear’n his mind & healing from all the stress of Society.. He appreciates the support for the Album [Foreign’s debut, B.I.B.L.E., on which West is featured and credited as a producer] & the response.”

NeNe Leakes Sues ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Production Companies for Supporting Racist Work Environment

NeNe Leakes, a former star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, filed a lawsuit against the show’s producers, alleging that they fostered and tolerated a hostile and racist work environment.

According to The Associated Press, Leakes complained to show executives about racist remarks from white castmate Kim Zolciak-Bierman. Instead of action against Zolciak-Bierman, Leakes was punished. The lawsuit names NBCUniversal, Bravo, True Entertainment, and Truly Original as companies. Show executive producer Andy Cohen is also named.

“NBC, Bravo and True foster a corporate and workplace culture in which racially-insensitive and inappropriate behavior is tolerated – if not, encouraged,” the suit reads.

In the suit, Zolciak-Bierman stated “words to the effect of: ‘I don’t want to sit around with NeNe and eat chicken” when a scene was set to be at a barbecue. In season five, Zolciak-Bierman would refer to Kandi Burruss neighborhood as “ghetto” and suggested Burruss did not need a swimming pool. She also allegedly used the N-word in reference to Leakes, while also referring to her home as a “roach nest” and spreading false rumors of drug abuse.

“As the Black Lives Matter movement swept our nation, Mrs. Leakes — Bravo’s historically most successful Black female talent — should have been embraced by NBC, Bravo, and True,” part of the suit reads. “Instead, NBC, Bravo, and True forced her out of the ‘house she built,’ denying her a regular role.”

Zolciak-Bierman was not included in the suit. Leakes had a seven-season run on RHOA.

A Potential Juror Was Dismissed From The Kardashian/Blac Chyna Trial Because Was Worried That He Wouldn’t Be Able To Stop Thinking About Kim’s Sex Tape

The Kardashians have had a rough few weeks, from allegedly photoshopping their children to being dissed by “the woman from Will & Grace. Now, the family is in court against Rob Kardashian’s ex Blac Chyna, and it is becoming hard for the judge to find suitable jurors for the case.

While selecting the jury for the trial, potential jurors were asked if they had opinions on reality TV. According to Page Six, one man, who appeared to be in his 50s or 60s said he had never seen the show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, though he had seen Kim’s infamous sex tape.

“I have watched [Kim] Kardashian’s sex tape, and I don’t think I can be impartial on this case,” the man said. The comment drew laughter from other jurors, which made Kris shake her head, and Khloe allegedly try to comfort her sister Kim. The man insisted he wouldn’t be right for the juror because he would be “replaying that sex tape over and over again.” That’s one way to get out of jury duty!

The family has been preparing for a trial against Blac Chyna, who sued the Kardashian-Jenner family in 2017, alleging that they purposely sabotaged her reality show. She had called the family “media predators” and is seeking millions in return for her canceled reality show, Rob And Chyna.

The Kardashians, the family’s latest reality show, just premiered on Hulu earlier this month after ending their 20-season run on E! last summer. Maybe the family should consider taking a short break, just for a bit!

Lizzo Roasts Black Eyes Peas’ Biggest Hits In A ‘Saturday Night Live’ Sketch

Fans know that music aside, Lizzo is a magnetic and entertaining personality. She got to show that off to a larger audience this past weekend when she was both the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Given that music is her day job, it found its way into the show beyond her performances, including in a sketch about Black Eyes Peas, which pokes fun at the group.

The skit was presented as studio footage from a session where the band recorded multiple hits, and after the group performed a bit of “Boom Boom Pow” for producers (Lizzo and Aidy Bryant), Bryant noted, “Those were actually the temp lyrics that we sent to describe the beat of the track.” Lizzo added, “Yeah, you were supposed to replace them with your own lyrics. You know, like, with words.”

After going back and forth on that song some more, they move on to “I Gotta Feeling,” with Lizzo and Bryant showing amazement at the song’s simple lyrics. Bryant then instructed, “Everyone yell a refrain together, something that feels true to who you are as a group.” The band responded, “Mazel tov, l’chaim!”

They also made a nod to “Let’s Get It Started,” or rather, the original version of the song, the controversially titled “Let’s Get R*tarded.” Noting the song’s title is a work in progress, with just “Let’s Get” confirmed so far, Bryant notes, “It has to be something that we can say forever.” Lizzo assured, “We can figure that out later.”

Historical accuracy isn’t necessarily the most important thing in an SNL sketch (for example, this wasn’t actual Black Eyed Peas studio footage), but it’s worth noting (or maybe it isn’t) that the sketch’s fictional recording session was set in 2008, but “Let’s Get It Started” was released in 2004.

ICYMI: FX’s ‘Snowfall’ to End After the Sixth Season

Damson Idris Says John Singleton Left The Code To Complete Season 4 of Snowfall

The story of Franklin Saint is coming to a close. Snowfall has been renewed for the sixth season, which will also be the last. Snowfall is currently in its fifth season at FX. The series stars Damson Idris.

The opening of the current season begins with the overdose of Len Bias and the ripple effects it sent across Franklin’s family, placing them in the crosshairs of the Los Angeles Police Department special drug task force. At the same time, the family is imploding and attempting to not turn on each other.

“I couldn’t imagine telling this story anywhere but at FX,” said Idris in a statement to Variety. “I’m incredibly proud of the history we have all made. Especially the impact ‘Snowfall’ has had on the culture. Very rarely does a TV show get to the sixth season mark and saying goodbye to ‘Franklin Saint’ will be heartbreaking. But the family and relationships I’ve made on this journey will last a lifetime. I know John Singleton is looking down smiling proud.”

“FX first partnered with legendary writer-director John Singleton and the rest of the creative team six years ago to pursue their vision for an ambitious, powerful drama about the explosion of the crack epidemic of the early 80s,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX. “Today, as the fifth season of ‘Snowfall’ reaches new heights of acclaim and viewership, there is no question that this series has become an FX classic drama. We are thrilled to order a sixth season that will enable Dave Andron, Walter Mosley and the rest of the producers to bring ‘Snowfall’ to a climactic finale showcasing the brilliance of everyone involved, from the stellar cast led by Damson Idris, to the writers, directors, artists and crew.”

The current season will end on April 20.
