Jaidyn Alexis & Blueface Channel “The Proud Family” With Their Little Ones For Halloween

Blueface and Jaidyn Alexis haven’t always seen eye to eye, but now more than ever, the MILF Music creatives are working together to secure their family’s legacy. They’ve been steadily releasing singles to help grow the mother of two’s fanbase. At the same time, their romantic connection looks to be getting stronger too. After Chrisean Rock gave birth to her first child with Blue last month, we saw a brief reconciliation between those two. However, more dramatic antics proved that the co-parents couldn’t work through their issues, sending the Californian back to torment Alexis.

As we move closer to Halloween, she and Blue are sharing their joint costume with the world earlier than anticipated. While the 26-year-old solidified his status as head of the household by dressing as Oscar Proud, the patriarch of Disney’s The Proud Family, his other half raised some eyebrows by going as his wife, Trudy, who’s a Black woman. Seeing as Alexis’ background doesn’t align with the character she’s cosplaying, it’s no surprise that people were stepping on her neck over the decision.

Their two young children, Javaugn and Journey, got in on the fun too. While the youngest wore a cute red dress and her hair in pigtails like Penny Proud, Blue’s son went as Sticky Webb. The moody character famously wore monochrome outfits and sunglasses in the animated series, which his parents managed to help him recreate flawlessly.

Despite his attempts at trying to keep the peace, Blueface always seems to be caught up in some sort of drama thanks to the numerous women in his life. Most recently, it’s been his mother, Karlissa Saffold, who’s causing a stir online due to her leaked booty picture. Read what the “Thotiana” rapper had to say about that uncomfortable situation at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Normani Voices A ’90s Music Star In A New ‘The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder’ Teaser Clip

Normani may be holding off on the release of her debut solo album, but that hasn’t stopped the singer from using her voice in other arenas. Yes, the cross-over act has dropped a string of singles over the years, including “Dancing With A Stranger” featuring Sam Smith, “Motivation,” “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, and most recently, “Fair.” Still, she’s kept her creative options open.

Now, the musician is looking to add the title actress to her growing resume. In a new teaser clip shared by Disney+, the New Orleans native will blend her vocal skills both as a voice actor and as a singer thanks to her new role on The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder. Normani will play the role of Giselle, a member of the show’s fictional ’90s music group, The Soul Vibrations.

The episode is described as the staple character Uncle Bobby (played by Cedric the Entertainer) reliving his musical glory days as the leader of the fictional band. In the clip of the scene featuring Normani, Bobby recounts to his Penny (played by Kyla Pratt) all about Giselle’s early start in the industry as his backing support. Based on its description, Normani may make several appearances throughout the season. It makes you wonder, did Normani use her admiration for ’90s music star Janet Jackson to get into character?

The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder is exclusively available on Disney+. New episodes will be available for streaming starting on February 1.

Salt-N-Pepa’s Pepa Taps Into Her Inner Cougar In A Preview Of This Weekend’s ‘Celebrity Family Feud’

Family Feud is always bringing the laughs, whether it be ridiculous answers from contestants or theatrics from the show’s host Steve Harvey. Add celebrities to the mix and the humor only increases. This week, in a preview of Sunday’s upcoming Celebrity Family Feud episode, the chuckles came as a result of Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa tapping into her inner cougar.

Harvey prompted Pepa’s team with the question “We asked a hundred married men, ‘Your wife is a lady in the street and what animal in the sheets?’” to which the 55-year-old enthusiastically replied “A cougar!” As if that wasn’t enough, she gave her rendition of a growl while playing with her own hair. Steve Harvey was clearly entertained by the answer, saying “Run over here if you want to … Learn yourself somethin’. ” Evidently, Pepa had done her homework as her answer was the third most popular. Her partner-in-rap Salt had already given the number one answer, a tiger.

The episode also features Kid from hip-hop duo Kid-N-Play as he, along with Salt-N-Pepa, will take on the cast of Disney’s The Proud Family. Kid, real name Christopher Reid, didn’t yield the same response as Pepa when he answered “a snake” to Harvey’s question. It is left to be determined whether or not this apparent blunder will hold his team back from victory.

Lil Nas X Will Appear As A Country Singer Named June Bug On ‘The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder’

Lil Nas X is set to make his voice-acting debut on an upcoming episode of The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder. The episode, appropriately titled “Old Towne Road,” begins streaming tomorrow on Disney+, and viewers will see Lil Nas X as a country singer named June Bug.

In the episode, Trudy (Paula Jai Parker) tracks her mother-in-law, Suga Mama’s (Jo Marie Payton) family history, leading the Prouds on a trip to Oklahoma. During their trip, Bobby Proud (Cedric The Entertainer) joins June Bug’s country band.

When Bobby asks June Bug where he can plug in his keytar, June Bug replies, “Nah cuh, I’m the only one who plays guitar around here,” then proceeds to hand him a washboard. “Give this a try, cuh, I love that for you.”

The band proceeds to play the hit that started it all for Lil Nas X, “Old Town Road.”

Lil Nas X is one of several musicians who were announced last year as guest stars for The Proud Family revival. Normani, Jaden, Chance The Rapper and Lizzo are also set to guest star this season.

R&B Star Joyce Wrice Sings The ‘Proud Family’ Reboot’s Theme Song

LA-based R&B singer Joyce Wrice has quietly made a name for herself locally thanks to the feel-good, throwback vibes 2021 debut album Overgrown, but her next project just might make her a household name — at least, if your household includes any demographic that grew up on Disney Channel staple The Proud Family. It’s fitting that an artist who made nostalgia her stock in trade has been selected to sing the theme song for the Proud Family reboot coming soon to Disney +.

“I am so excited to share that I’ll be singing the reimagined theme song for #TheProudFamilyLouderAndProuder” she tweeted. “I am a huge fan of the original series and am honored to be a part of the #DisneyPlus Revival. I can’t wait for you to hear it!!”

The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder will follow the ongoing coming-of-age adventures of Penny Proud and her friends as they enter the world of dating — opposed, as always, by Penny’s overbearing dad Oscar. Judging from the trailer that dropped earlier today, the storylines will expand the scope of the show to encompass modern-day topics and the various pop culture changes that have taken place since the original groundbreaking series broke boundaries in the early 2000s.

In addition, the show will feature a who’s-who of Black entertainment talent including Lizzo, Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union, Lil Nas X, and more.

As far as Wrice’s involvement goes, Disney dropped a cute featurette to explain how the burgeoning star was pulled into the project to put her own unique spin on the theme song originally made famous by Destiny’s Child. You can check that out below and watch the trailer above, and keep an eye out — something tells me Ms. Wrice’s rise to superstardom is just beginning.
