When Beyonce pulled up to the annual Grammy Awards in cowboy couture to support her husband, Jay-Z, it’s safe to say the masses were confused. All through her RENAISSANCE era, the more of three wore lavish, over-the-top, avant-garde gowns that reflected the glamorous disco themes throughout her award-winning album. Now that she’s confirmed the album’s second act will arrive at the end of March, and will be a country project, we’re expecting to see Bey channel the best of the Wild Wild West more frequently throughout the final weeks of winter.

She didn’t disappoint when stepping out for the LUAR runway presentation during New York Fashion Week, as USA Today reports. The “Baby Boy” hitmaker surprised everyone by sitting in the front row on Tuesday (February 13) evening, just days after dropping “16 CARRIAGES” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” to introduce what her upcoming release will sound like. Her outfit was mostly silver, consisting of a bejeweled blazer dress, a head covering full of flashy gems, Mary J. Blige-esque thigh-high boots, and of course, her new signature cowboy hat.

However, according to some social media sleuths, it seems like her latest instance of doing so came at the expense of another musical legend. Moreover, fans noticed that Tina liked an Instagram post complaining about how Janet Jackson’s ticket prices were far too expensive for the show length and experience that a concert-goer would get. In particular, this was notable because the IG user compared these financials to that of the Destiny’s Child singer’s recent RENAISSANCE tour.

“What a joke…” user @let68 captioned a screenshot of Janet Jackson’s $2,000+ Meet & Greet & VIP Lounge Packages. “They add $1000 for a 15 second meet & greet again. No front row for fans unless you want to bend over so they can continue to rake in the cash. You want Beyoncé prices, have real production. Just disgusted. I’m not the only one… oh the DMs I’m getting. Way to thank your fans for years of support.” If Tina Knowles’ response to the RENAISSANCE Rotten Tomatoes score is any indication, it’s that she will always champion her daughter above all else, even with other strong competitors.

Tasha K became public enemy number one for the Beyhive recently, as she criticized Blue Ivy’s dancing on Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE tour. What’s more is that it wasn’t just fans and social media users coming down her throat, but members of the Knowles family at large, as well. Moreover, the blogger caught some shots from the singer’s mother and Blue Ivy’s grandmother, Tina Knowles. Well, they weren’t direct shots, but she spoke on breezing through the negativity shortly after Tasha’s remarks, so fans put two and two together. Regardless, the blogger responded and stood by her position against the matriarch.

“Now I know we got a lot of Hive members- I am a Beyoncé fan,” Tasha K exclaimed. “I’m still a customer. I am in your establishment, if that biscuit was soggy, if it was salty, I have the right to speak my mind! And when you are charging that much money, and I’m a fan, and I voice a concern, because I’m leaving a Yelp review and a Google review. Tina Lawson Tells Fan To “Shhh!!!” During Beyoncé Concert

Tina Lawson was seen shushing a fan in a clip shared by The Shade Room on Instagram. The clip shows an eager fan chanting “I just met Ms. Tina, I just met Beyoncé’s mama,” in a video alongside Lawson. She smiles and poses for the camera, but quickly says “Shhh!!!” and gently swats the fan once he starts singing. Users commented on the funny fan interaction, saying “She’s right” and “She said pipe down!” The fan’s footage was captured at Beyoncé’s Mother’s Day “Renaissance” tour performance at Brussels’ King Baudouin Stadium.

Beyoncé shared a post dedicated to her mother that same day. The post reads, “Happy Muva’s Day.” Beyoncé added, “I love you so much Mama and I’m so grateful for all you do for me.” The post featured a clip of Lawson dancing along to her daughter’s performance, and a snapshot of the star’s mother’s photo displayed onstage at the concert. Beyoncé had the same heartfelt message displayed on her official website on Mother’s Day. The performer’s own daughter, Blue Ivy, was seen supporting her mother at her first stop on her tour last week. The 11-year-old was joined by her father Jay-Z The tour, which began earlier this month.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour

Speculation surrounding Beyoncé energy level during the performance led many fans to believe she is still recovering from a recent surgery. The tour will continue to make various stops in Europe and Canada before heading to the U.S. in July. Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” tour concludes in September with a performance in New Orleans. The tour is in support of her 2022 Renaissance album, which won the artist a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic album of the year.

At the tour’s first stop in Stockholm, Sweden, one woman popped the question to her partner. This prompted applause from the audience, which included Jay-Z and Tyler Perry. The opening night of the tour also ended with one Queen B fan’s arrest. The arrest happened after the fan snuck into a VIP section of the event. A video of the tour book including a preliminary setlist was circulated prior to the performance in Stockholm. The mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles is just as famous as her daughters, as she was instrumental in the development and success of Destiny’s Child. She’s accepted as a mother to those she loves, affectionately going by Ms. Tina, and it’s clear that artists are just as fond of her as they are her children.

It was a celebration of film last weekend at the 2023 Academy Awards, and the Lawsons attended in all of their fashionable glory. Of course, Ms. Tina shared a few highlights, including a cute snapshot with none other than Megan Thee Stallion. The link between Ms. Tina and Megan was a family affair, and not just because the two women are both from Houston. No matter how famous Beyoncé may be, Tina Lawson will share stories about her eldest daughter whenever possible. This time, Ms. Tina sat with a former First Lady for REVOLT x Michelle Obama: The Cross-Generational Conversation. The special also featured guests like Kelly Rowland, Winnie Harlow, and H.E.R., while Angie Martinez acted as host.

During the chat, several women spoke about parenthood and finding the balance of protecting one’s children while also allowing them to make mistakes. Lawson used Beyoncé as an example as she brought up a moment in the singer’s youth. According to Lawson, Bey was just an aspiring singer who felt out-matched by a better vocalist.

“There’s a balance so that they don’t feel that they’re entitled to things,” said Lawson. “I remember Beyoncé being in the group at first,” but another singer, a girl slightly older with a “better voice” was brought in.

There was disbelief that there could have been a singer better than Beyoncé, but at the time, it was true.

“She was much older and stronger,” Lawson remembered. She recalled her daughter “coming home and saying, ‘That’s not fair because I brought her there and, you know, they’re not even telling me thank you, and now she’s just singing all the lead.’”

It could have made things simple just to support Beyoncé during her youthful frustration. However, that’s not what Ms. Tina chose to do.

“I’m like, you know what, I would go get in those voice lessons,” she said. “And I’d just work twice as hard because the world ain’t fair… That was a really tough lesson for that age.”

Little Beyoncé didn’t appreciate the lesson and told her mother, “I hate you.” She even threw in a, “You’re not my best friend and I hate you.”

“When your kids say, ‘You are not my best friend,’” Lawson added. “Well, I don’t want to be your best friend.” It was a lesson that we’re sure Bey has implemented throughout her career.

Ahead of the release of the Renaissance album, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Lawson, spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the release.

“I’m very, very excited,” Lawson said. “I just posted recently that I really miss her singing, and I do. I’m as excited as everybody else. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. She put two years of love into this. Many, many nights all night working. So, I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”

Renaissance, the first solo album from Beyoncé since 2016’s Lemonade, is officially available. The new release comes a month after introducing the Renaissance-era with the “Break My Soul” single. Renaissance is the first of a three-act project, delivering 16 singles to her fans.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world,” Bey said online. “It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
