Megan Thee Stallion seems to be feeling brand new in all the best ways following a tumultuous 2022. She’s publically addressed her legal battle with Tory Lanez, making it abundantly clear that it’s something she wants to put behind her. Elsewhere, she seems to have found new love with Belgian soccer player Romelu Lukaku. Interestingly, Thee Stallion never publically confirmed a split from Pardison Fontaine. Still, she and the athlete were photographed holding hands at one of his teammate’s weddings in May.

As badly as her listeners are craving a Hot Girl Summer anthem, Thee Stallion has been clear as of late that she has no plans to drop music until she’s in a stronger state mentally. Who Is GloRilla?

Not many artists can boast of having the Song of the Summer, but GloRilla sure can. In 2022, the Memphis native came out swinging with the summer anthem, “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).” The song, in collaboration with, and produced by Hitkidd, became both artists’ breakout hit. After the track went viral on TikTok, GloRilla achieved a huge career boost.

“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” would eventually score a nomination for Best Rap Performance at the Grammy Awards. With a huge career ahead of her, GloRilla is aiming for the stars. On June 21, the rapper made the coveted XXL Freshman Class of 2023 list. Joining other up-and-coming Hip Hop artists, GloRilla’s talents are clearly being noticed far and wide.

Early Beginnings

Before finding fame, GloRilla endured a frustrating rise to the top. Born Gloria Hallelujah Woods in 1999, she got her first taste of music in the church. She was a member of her church’s choir and sang many solos. Still, shows like 106 & Park became fixtures in her life when she wasn’t singing.

By the time she lost her singing voice, GloRilla ventured into rap. She initially adopted the moniker Big Glo and uploaded her first freestyle to Facebook in 2016. Nonetheless, it would be several years and disappointments later before a light in the tunnel appeared. When her music wasn’t taking off as planned, she began to lose a lot of money pursuing her dreams.

Regardless, she didn’t give up. In 2021, at a local rap showcase, she met Hitkidd. Their encounter would eventually change both of their lives for the better. The producer and beat maker had initially sent the beat of “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” to Megan Thee Stallion, but her delayed response led to him offering it up to GloRilla. Thus, the viral summer anthem was born. GloRilla would eventually make history as the first female rapper signed to Yo Gotti’s record label, Collective Music Group (CMG).

Breakout Success

“F.N.F (Let’s Go)” was the song that successfully put the rapper on the map. The women’s empowerment song was widely praised as one of the best songs of 2022. After breaking through, GloRilla gained her highest charting single with “Tomorrow 2.” The track, which features a guest verse from Cardi B, enjoyed great success. However, GloRilla revealed that Cardi B’s appearance on the song was a special surprise from her team.

Surrounding the collaboration with Cardi B, GloRilla said, “Actually, my team, Gotti and them. They had already reached out to her. I didn’t know. That was a surprise for me to find out that she was on the song. They had already had it in the works and everything, but I didn’t know about it. They were going to surprise me.”

GloRilla released her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great to positive reviews from critics. She snagged the Best New Hip Hop Artist Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards. The nine-track project also earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2023 BET Awards. She is also the most nominated female artist at the awards ceremony, and the second overall after Drake. Since her breakthrough, the rapper has wasted no time securing slots at significant ceremonies and concerts. She has performed at the Grammys, the American Music Awards, Coachella, Rolling Loud, and more.

Furthermore, GloRilla is an active philanthropist. She famously donated $25,000 to her high school, Martin Luther King College Prep during a visit to her hometown of Memphis. She has also shared that she’s happy to be able to put her people on and take care of her family. Kim Kardashian Admits North West Dressing As Ice Spice Was Wrong

Kim Kardashian says that her daughter, North West, was wrong to dress up as Ice Spice for a controversial video on TikTok that went viral in March. Speaking with Time magazine, the SKIMS founder admitted that Kanye West may have been right to call her out in that one instance.

“Every day, the kids get to switch of whose music they want to plug in and listen to on the way to school and North was listening to Ice Spice,” Kim explained. “And I didn’t know who that was at the time. And I was like, this is the moment when I feel really old and my daughter is now teaching me what’s cool. I then had the idea to put [Ice Spice] in a Skims campaign. So that all came through North and what she liked. I think it’s always tough when you’re co-parenting and someone wants something and someone doesn’t.”

She continued: “The Ice Spice videos, she said, ‘Mommy, can I post this?’ “I was out of town, so I had my… nanny was there [and] allowed it. And as soon as I saw the words and everything, I was like, ‘Oh, no no. We’re taking this down.’ She totally understood. So, I think that’s the trial and error sometimes.”

From there, she admitted that her ex-husband may have been correct about their daughter’s TikTok usage in this case. The Ice Spice song featured in the post included graphic depictions of sexual intercourse. “And, you know, then I saw on the Internet, it’s like, ‘Kanye was right.’ You know? And maybe he was, you know?,” Kim added. “In that instance. But in the creative side where she loves making slime videos and doing her little hair tutorials, I will fight for her to be creative in those ways. So, it’s always a compromise. No one’s always gonna agree and you just have to do the best that you can as a parent and try to protect your kids, but also let them be creative.”

Kanye first complained about North having a TikTok account back in February 2022. In an Instagram post from the time, he remarked that his daughter was on the site “against my will.”

Earlier this year, Ice Spice and one of her biggest fans, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter North West, linked up and filmed a series of TikTok videos. One in particular raised eyebrows, as it featured the 9-year-old mouthing along to Ice Spice and PinkPantheress’ “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2,” specifically the line, “Sayin’ he home, but I know where he at, like / Bet he blowin’ her back / Thinkin’ ’bout me ’cause he know that it’s fat.”

The clip was later removed from TikTok and now Kardashian has spoken more about making the decision to delete it.

In a new interview, she told Time, “As soon as I saw the words, I was like, ‘Oh no, we’re taking this down.’ I saw on the internet, [people saying] ‘Kanye was right,’ and maybe he was in that instance, but she loves making slime videos and doing her little hair tutorials, and I will fight for her to be creative.”

After the video was shared, an older clip of Kanye resurfaced, in which he spoke about his frustrations with North spending time on TikTok and how he didn’t want her to be “used” by the social video platform.

Fans Speculate SZA And Travis Scott Could Be Dating

According to Page Six, the rumors all started when SZA surprised fans by bringing out Scott to perform with her at a show in Manchester.

The show took place on the 13th of this month. Fans were delighted when SZA surprised everyone by bringing Travis on stage to perform their song “Love Galore.” The track is a major fan favorite from SZA’s beloved 2017 album CTRL. Plenty of fans took their on-stage chemistry as some kind of hint confirming that the pair are dating. “Travis and SZA just make sense,” one comment reads. While not all fans appear to be convinced the pair just elevated the already prevalent dating rumors quite a bit.

“He failed them. Specifically her,” one user commented on Instagram when Hollywood Unlocked shared the post. “That’s such a weird TikTok to do with your dad lol,” another wrote. While there was plenty of hate, some users did defend The Game. “Stop posting ppl kids for adults to ‘have an opinion’ on them,” one commented. “Some of y’all never met your Dad. Stop it.”

Eventually, the rapper took to the comments section of the post. “She my kid. 1/2 y’all kids got snot frozen on the outside of they nose but you tryna weigh in on the parenthood of mine… my kid in private school wearing uniforms makin straight A’s.. we good over here,” he wrote.

Moreover, it’s part of a trend that uses a face-distorting filter that also gives you a small beard- and fans can’t get enough. However, given the Canadian artist’s legal controversies surrounding his convicted shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, some users expressed disappointment in giving him some play. On the other hand, most discussion you will find on social media with a search surrounds people begging for the track’s release.

Furthermore, those who want to boycott the 30-year-old’s music must be especially unhappy with Kylie Jenner. She just posted a couple of videos singing along to “Hurts Me,” most likely blowing the trend up for many that were unaware of it in the process. YK Osiris Accused Of Assault By Ex-Employee

Following a recent alleged instance of abuse that went viral, more information is coming out about rapper YK Osiris’ past. Just yesterday, YK Osiris was in some pretty hot water after a video of him forcing himself on fellow rapper Sukihana went viral. His behavior was criticized as sexual assault and many online couldn’t believe that others watched the incident without interfering. Dozens of rappers and celebrities gave their thoughts on the incident including Meek Mill, Amber Rose, and Wack 100.

Now, a woman who claims to be a former employee of YK Osiris is speaking out about her experiences. In a TikTok posted earlier today on her account @SheNastaye she told her story. “Sukihana I just want to say this. I’m empathetic towards you, and I’m also envious of you. Because luckily for you, the things that happened to you happened in a space where it was pubic,” she says. “And the reason I’m envious is because a person like me that experienced the same exact thing with the same person didn’t get the opportunity to show the whole world the things that were said, that were done to me individually behind closed doors,” she continues. She goes on to conclude that she didn’t want to speak out sooner because she thought she’d be perceived as a clout chaser.

In the video, YK Osiris’ accuser also says she doesn’t believe his apology. “I already know that somebody probably wrote that apology for you because you’re not a person who literally is willing to apologize because you don’t take accountability for anything.” It’s a sentiment shared by others online most notably Sukihana’s own mother. She called the statement he made a “fake a** apology.”

This isn’t the first time YK Osiris has been in trouble for violent behavior. In 2019 YK reportedly assaulted his girlfriend in an incident which reportedly included him biting her. Tory Lanez TikTok Trend Gets Backlash Online

The case of Tory Lanez has been one of the biggest scandals in hip-hop in recent years, also owed to the fact that it involves fellow MC Megan Thee Stallion on the other side of the courtroom. After years of back-and-forth, the court will sentence the Canadian artist on August 7. However, he popped up in pop culture in unconventional ways since, namely a recent TikTok trend. As such, a lot of users engaging in it are facing criticism online for not knowing that they’re promoting the convicted artist’s unreleased music with that trend. The unreleased song in question is called “Hurts Me,” and has been used a lot outside of the trend itself, as well.

Furthermore, the trend consists of a “striking face” filter that comically enlarges eyes and lips with a five o’clock shadow. The original audio has 125,000 uses in other videos, with most of them uploaded in the past three days alone. If you search for the song on social media, you will find an avalanche of fans begging for its release- and Tory’s, for that matter. However, when it comes to people using the trend without knowing it’s him, blog Daily Dot brought up the example of previously unreleased tracks that trended eventually becoming big hits.

Of course, hardcore Tory Lanez fans will likely continue to share their love for the song and the artist regardless. However, the article and some Twitter users pointed out that this only gives Tory and his ream more reason to eventually drop the song and profit off of it. “Why have you lot made a Tory Lanez song trend on TikTok, have we learnt nothing,” one user tweeted. Still, many users also expressed that you can still love the song and understand why the 30-year-old should be behind bars. It’s a murky situation, but a personal one at the end of the day. No song is a “Get Out Of Jail Free” card, after all.

Meanwhile, Lanez’s team recently failed to dismiss and disqualify the judge who ruled against his motion for a new trial. In addition, he and DaBaby faced accusations of trying to ambush one of Meg’s performances. The rapper’s son Halo has become somewhat of a star in his own right, mainly through the pairs podcast Me and Halo. In a recent episode, guest Issa Rae had some questions for Halo about his dad. “Do u know who your dad is?” she asks. “Yes. 2 Chain,” Halo responded. Rae was clearly looking for a more personal answer. “But who is he to you?” she follows up. “My dad. Just a rich a guy in the house. The richest guy in the house. Almost,” Halo responded.

Halo’s hilarious response certainly implied that he isn’t all that impressed with his dad. But in case there was any wiggle room he was asked directly if he was impressed. “No,” he responded. He also punctuated the whole discussion with another hilarious distinction. “I got more money than him, so…” Halo concluded. The funny clip went viral on TikTok following the release of the podcast episode.

2 Chainz And His Son Compare Bank Accounts

Earlier this month Metro Boomin’ dropped his absolutely stacked soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse. The tracklist includes an appearance from 2 Chainz, who joins 21 Savage and Don Toliver on the song “Givin’ Up (Not The One).” The album debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and many of its collaborations landed on the Hot 100 following the launch of the film and soundtrack.

This also isn’t the only time recently that Halo’s comments towards his dad have gone viral. Last month 2 Chainz couldn’t help but laugh it off when Halo called him “fat.” Following an appearance during Lil Wayne’s Rolling Loud set earlier this year, 2 Chainz spilled some of the details on a forthcoming new project he has with the rapper.
