The Kid LAROI Unveils Personal Struggles and Growth in Apple Music Interview

The Kid LAROI sits down with Zane Lowe on Apple Music for an intimate discussion about his journey to stardom and his latest album, THE FIRST TIME.

Candidly addressing fears of financial loss and public embarrassment, LAROI delves into the impact of anxiety on family relationships. The artist, known for his authenticity, credits Justin Bieber for teaching him vulnerability.

I told Justin this all the time is that when I first met him, one of the things that was so jarring to me at first, but something that was so beautiful that over time I’ve picked up and I’ve implemented into my own life because of him, thanks to him, is when I first came to his house to play basketball with him and his friends. They were so positive and so loving and so open and so vulnerable, and I wasn’t used to that. Even just the way I would grab the ball and I’d miss a shot and Justin would come pat me on the back and be like, “It’s all good, bro. Next shot. You got that,” and that’s not how I played basketball with my friends. You know what I’m saying? But it was so cool…I remember leaving there and just being like, “Whoa.” I just remember being just jarred. I don’t know what’s going on. And over time, as we kept hanging out and just the way he was able to showcase his vulnerability and open up to me, and that encouraged me to want to be more vulnerable and open up and want to own my feelings more and own the way I feel and how honest he is about who he is. And that is his thing. He is so honest about who he is and how he feels, even if, I mean whatever it is, he really owns that. And I think that’s something that I took and I was like, “Wow, that is so admirable.” And I saw the effect it had on me just being around that. And so I want to take that… I want to encourage that…

– The Kid LAROI on Justin Bieber

Reflecting on Juice WRLD’s loss, LAROI pays homage on “WHERE DOES YOUR SPIRIT GO.” Formerly needing to fulfill mass expectations, LAROI now prioritizes authenticity, embracing the freedom to pursue his desires openly.

I wanted to just capture how I was feeling. I mean, obviously that was the first step. And I think what comes with a lot of death and grief is obviously sadness, but anger as well. Not only just anger for the events of death, but anger towards yourself and regret of like, damn, I wish I had told this person this, or damn, I wish I did this differently. I wish I had… And a lot of that. You can tend to project and I think that was the thing. It was like, when I say in the song, “How could you build me up just to leave me now?” We have so much to do and then you’re going to leave? … that’s a feeling that you feel at some point, as not accurate as that is… But that’s how you feel. I think at points of grief, it’s like f**k, you feel anger, right?  Juice and I… that was big bro, but I was 15 and he was 20. So there is a dynamic of, as a kid, you’re a fan and you’re like, now this guy I guess would be big bro. And now I get to travel everywhere and there’s just that sense of you’re kind of just happy to be there and move in with the flow. And one thing that I always wished I think was that I was like, damn, I wish there was in another universe. I’ve met Juice now with going through what I’ve gone through and knowing what I know…he’s quite a special guy, we don’t have to get into it now, but he’s a guy who’s helped me so much

The Kid LAROI Shows Growth On His Debut Album “THE FIRST TIME”

Australia’s boy wonder, The Kid LAROI, was dealing with a lot personally leading up to the release of his debut album. A couple of months ago, he shared what has been troubling him in a heartfelt message to his fans. “I’m sorry I’ve been a bit silent. Been going through a lot recently. I’m good but I’ve just needed space to focus on processing my feelings & work.”

LAROI continued, “Here to let you know that a lot of videos have been shot these past couple weeks, I shot the album cover & I’m working with the label to get you a date. I also added more songs to the record. It’s done though. I love you. Thanks for staying with me. 🤍” For a teenager dealing with this massive wave of fame, a lot can come with that, especially negatively. Relationships, mental health, and plenty of other important things are put on the back burner because of your new responsibilities.

The Kid Laroi Faces The Realities Of The Teenage Dream In His New Video For ‘Sorry’

The Kid Laroi is living the dream. Tonight (November 10), the Australian superstar released his long-awaited debut album, The First Time. And while he’s living that popstar life, he is realizing that the life of an artist isn’t always peachy.

On “Sorry,” the intro track from The First Time, Laroi grapples with the ups and downs of fame.

“I mean, the pressure’s immense / I’m 19, trying navigate money and stress / Weird industry friends and my family life is intense / And my girl is always upset ’cause I’m always f*ckin’ workin’ / Sh*t, I expect some respect / Can’t even go on the ‘net without someone goin’ for my neck,” he rap sings on one of the song’s verses.

While a life of artistry isn’t always easy, Laroi knows this is his true passion, and is willing to go through the bad to get to the good.

In the song’s accompanying video, Laroi is seen pedaling his bike down a road, walking through the city, contemplating the gravity of the choices he’s made. Elsewhere in the video, fans may notice similarities to Laroi’s “Let Her Go” video.

You can see the video for “Sorry” above.

The First Time is out now via Columbia Records. Find more information here.

The Kid LAROI Taps Future And BabyDrill For Trap Banger “WHAT’S THE MOVE?”

The debut album of multi-talented Australian artist The Kid LAROI is right on the cusp of its release. In fact, we are just two days away from the mercilessly pushed-back tape. Titled THE FIRST TIME, we are not exactly sure what the overall message of this will be. At this point, we are sure most of LAROI’s fans are just eager to have a new full album on their hands.

For some music purists, they might be a little annoyed with the way he has decided to do his rollout. LAROI, since early 2023, specifically January 27, has gone on to tease the project with seven singles. That is nearly half of the tracklist, with Genius showing 20 songs. But, again the fans of his probably do not care as much about that.

Listen To “WHAT’S THE MOVE?” From The Kid LAROI, Future, And BabyDrill

The seventh track we have to check out features the likes of Future and BabyDrill. Both are new partners to LAROI and he caters to their respective sounds on it. It definitely feels like this could land on a project of either one of these trap rappers. He deviates from some of the recent offerings that are more songwriter-esque. You can check out the looping visuals for it above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from The Kid LAROI, Future, and BabyDrill, “WHAT’S THE MOVE?” Is the best single from LAROI’s upcoming album, THE FIRST TIME? Do you think he is releasing too much of the album ahead of its release? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. The Kid Laroi, Jung Kook, And Central Cee Might Be ‘Too Much’ For Their Past Loves In Their New Video

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve heard from The Kid Laroi. But the Australian pop sensation is back with new music, as he gears up for an impending new era. Tonight (October 20), Laroi has teamed up with global superstars Central Cee and Jung Kook for a new collaboration, “Too Much.”

On their promising new collab, the three international acts reflect on a past relationship, pondering on the idea of rekindling with their once-loves.

“If we had the chance / and the time to spend, would you do it again? / Would you do it again? Was it too much?,” sing Jung and Laroi on the song’s chorus, with Laroi’s vocals sounding more polished than ever.

The song’s accompanying video features the three on interactive covers of the fictional Too Much Magazine. On their respective covers, the three artists dance the pain away, as ladies find the magazines on newsstands. Laroi sports a shorter, bleached-blond do, signaling the beginning of a new season in his life. The three hitmakers prove to be as inescapable in the video as they are on the radio, especially as the magazine arrives to a young woman’s home.

Trippie Redd Previews New Songs With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

Despite multiple delays, it seems like Trippie Redd’s A Love Letter To You 5 is finally arriving soon, as it’s scheduled to drop tomorrow (Friday, August 11). Moreover, there have been a slew of singles for the project as well, whether it was to hold fans over for the delay or as part of the rollout process. Regardless, we’ve gotten a lot of heat from the Ohio native as of late, and it looks like this new album will bring us that much more. Furthermore, Trippie recently teased two new tracks on his Instagram, one featuring Lil Wayne and one featuring The Kid LAROI. He seems quite excited to finally share this with fans, as he often is with them on social media.

First up is “I’m Mad At Me” with Weezy, which takes things back to a more old-school hip-hop sound with a beautiful sample chop and crisp boom-bap drums. With the iconic lighter flick and all, Tunechi comes through with a steady and charismatic flow after Trippie Redd opened the snippet up with some bars of his own. It’s clean, soulful, and an exciting shift for Trippie considering his most prominent and popular output. All in all, it’s exactly what longtime fans want from such a versatile figure in the rap game.

Trippie Redd’s New Material With Lil Wayne & The Kid LAROI

On the other hand, “Wind” with The Kid LAROI features impassioned vocals from him and a slinky bassline. From the melody and instrumental aesthetics, this is more up the MANSION MUSIK MC’s traditional alley. It’s moodier, more languid, and the lyrics are more heartbroken. In fact, it seems like this track is going to show off a lot of vocal chemistry between LAROI and Trippie Redd. For example, their singing tones and inflections are quite similar in this snippet, especially with Trippie’s dramatic and climactic chorus.

Meanwhile, previous singles like “Left 4 Dead” already gave fans a taste of the sounds the 24-year-old will play with on ALLTY5. He’s nothing if not a musical chameleon, which makes any project all the more exciting to listen to. We’ll see if “I’m Mad At Me” and “Wind” are album highlights, or if there’s even better cuts on there. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Trippie Redd.

It has been over two years since the release of The Kid LAROI’s first project F*CK LOVE 3+: OVER YOU. There has been speculation that his forthcoming project and debut album, The First Time, was supposed to drop this spring. Unfortunately, there is still no confirmed date of when his fans have something new to delve into. Speaking of new, LAROI, has revealed that he wants to take his sound and style in a new direction. From day one, it has been known that Juice WRLD, and his emo rap approach, has been a huge influence.

However, The Kid LAROI is ready to take that next step as an artist. He says in his Instagram post, “It’s kind of crazy to me that the only thing you guys have is F*ck Love because, as much as I’m very grateful for that project and grateful that you guys like it, I think that I’m sort of past that — just musically and topic-wise.” He continues by listing off the genres featured on this next effort, “rap sh*t, alternative sh*t, kind of pop sh*t on there, too, R&B.”
