The Kid Laroi Shared New Details About ‘The First Time,’ His Forthcoming Album That Will Include A Short Film

In January, The Kid Laroi teased his debut album, The First Time. He’s subsequently released singles such as “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was (Intro),” “Love Again,” “Kids Are Growing Up (Part 1),” “I Guess It’s Love,” and “Where Does Your Spirit Go?

Uproxx called The First Time one of the most anticipated albums of Spring 2023, but August just began, and the album still hasn’t arrived. On Wednesday evening, Laroi jumped on Instagram to explain the delay.

First the Australian star posted an Instagram carousel with the caption, “I’m sorry I’ve been a bit silent. Been going through a lot recently. I’m good but I’ve just needed space to focus on processing my feelings & work. Here to let you know that a lot of videos have been shot these past couple weeks, I shot the album cover & I’m working with the label to get you a date. I also added more songs to the record. It’s done though. I love you. Thanks for staying with me.”

About an hour later, Laroi went live on Instagram to continue teasing what to expect from The First Time. He said that “all the music is done” except for mixing and mastering. The multi-platinum-certified artist “turned in a version of the album a couple months back” but added more songs to it at the last minute, and he estimated that the finished product will feature 20 tracks — “rap sh*t, alternative sh*t, kind of pop sh*t on there, too, R&B” — as well as an accompanying short film, which is “almost done.”

“It’s f*ckin’ exciting for me because I feel like I haven’t done this in a long time. I’m a little scared, but I’m ultimately super happy that you guys are gonna get to hear this new space that I’m heading in,” Laroi said at one point while seated in a studio. “I’m not saying this because I know everyone says this before they drop a new project, but I genuinely do think this is the best music that I’ve made. I’m positive of that.”

He continued, “It’s kind of crazy to me that the only thing you guys have is F*ck Love because, as much as I’m very grateful for that project and grateful that you guys like it, I think that I’m sort of past that — just musically and topic-wise.”

Laroi noted he played the album yesterday for renowned director and Lyrical Lemonade creator Cole Bennett, who he said “has been a very integral part of me doing what I’ve done.” He said that he set the scene for Bennett by describing The First Time as the culmination of “everything that I listen to in my car when I’m driving around” in terms of genre and influence.

Before signing off the brief Instagram Live session, Laroi showed fans a new tattoo on his thigh that appropriately reads “THE FIRST TIME” but held back from giving away the story behind the ink just yet. All in due time.

Lil Baby’s Tour Troubles Continue As ‘It’s Only Us’ Has Reportedly Lost Its Biggest Opening Act

It really is only us. Lil Baby’s It’s Only Us Tour was already beset by setbacks, including several canceled dates, and is now plagued by the loss of its biggest headlining act. According to TMZ, Australian singer The Kid Laroi has dropped out of the tour, leaving Lil Baby with a slate of openers whose profiles might not be enough to fill the venues he wanted to book.

While GloRilla, Gloss Up, Hunxho, and Rylo Rodriguez — all rising stars in their own rights — all remain billed for now, this could hurt a tour that’s already reportedly been troubled by low sales. For reference, Lil Baby’s tour now no longer includes an Atlanta date — meaning he won’t even be performing in his own hometown. Other cities removed from the schedule include Denver, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Louisville, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, and San Diego. Baby still shared an updated flyer on Instagram, which suggests he’s planning to proceed in either case.

The tour cancellations have been a hot topic of discussion on Twitter, with industry professionals chiming in to detail the complex logistics that often go into booking and routing a nationwide tour. Meanwhile, fans aren’t optimistic about the future of the tour, asserting that between the price of tickets and the disappointing lineup, it’s no wonder Lil Baby isn’t able to fill the arenas he aimed for. And some have other theories, mainly involving karma:

You can still check out the remaining dates here.

The Kid LAROI Pulls Out Of Lil Baby’s Tour Amid Canceled Dates

Things just got quite turbulent for Lil Baby’s upcoming “It’s Only Us” tour- but maybe it won’t stay that way. Still, that’s an optimistic perspective, since another big change to the nationwide trek just broke on the Internet. Moreover, it seems like The Kid LAROI will no longer be accompanying the rapper on his journey across the United States. As of writing this article, the other supporting acts, namely Rylo Rodriguez, GloRilla, Gloss Up, and Hunxho, remain on board for the 24 or so dates of the concert series. Furthermore, these reports come after it was revealed that Baby dropped some cities from the tour, reportedly due to low ticket sales.

To elaborate, Lil Baby specifically canceled shows for Las Vegas, Sacramento, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Denver, and Louisville. For those who bought tickets to these shows, his team will fully refund the purchases, and some of the new dates aren’t even on sale yet (the new Philly and New York shows go live on Tuesday, July 18). Regarding The Kid LAROI, though, it’s unclear whether this contributed to his exit from the tour. He hasn’t spoken on it as of writing this article, although the Atlanta rapper posted the updated tour lineup on his Instagram page.

Lil Baby Announces New Tour Dates List Without The Kid LAROI

However, in brighter news, Lil Baby brought on none other than Teyana Taylor to co-produce and creative direct the tour. “He say ‘ITS ONLY US’ I say ‘IT’S ONLY UP’ from here!” she announced on social media. “So let’s turn s**t up a notch! Go time @lilbaby. Thank you @lilbaby & @qcmceo_p for trusting @theauntiesinc to creative direct & co-produce The #IOU tour! This one will be one for the books fasho!! Musical direction, choreography, production, visual content, wardrobe, stage presence, whew you def in good hands with one hell of a village & I can’t wait for the world to see how much fun we have with this s**t! @lilbaby @theauntiesinc @humanprsn. ‘IT’S ONLY US’ TOUR COMING TO A CITY NEAR YOU #IOU #Theaunties #Aspiketeyjoint.”

Meanwhile, it’s no doubting the fact that the 28-year-old has the fanbase to pack some stellar shows. It’s unclear whether this was a result of overestimated performance or some other logistical issue. Nevertheless, at least it’s not all bad news concerning the “It’s Only Us” tour. Stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Baby and The Kid LAROI.

Here Are The Hangout Music Festival Set Times For 2023

The 2023 Hangout Music Festival will be headlined by Paramore, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and SZA this weekend “on the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama,” as billed by the fest. Calvin Harris, Lil Nas X, Flume, Skrillex, and The Kid Laroi will also perform between this Friday, May 19, and Sunday, May 21.

The full schedule with everyone’s set times was shared by Hangout Fest on March 31, but here’s a refresher course now that it’s finally nearly time.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. local time for all three days. The festival boasts six stages: Hangout, Shein Surf Stage, Boom, Mermaid, Monster Beach Club, and Malibu Beach House. Each day will spread 26 artists’ sets across them.

May 19 will be headlined by Red Hot Chili Peppers, beginning at 9:30 p.m., on the Hangout stage. Ahead of that set, Lil Nas X can be seen on the Shein Surf Stage from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Thundercat will handle the Mermaid stage from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. The Boom stage will host GloRilla from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., and Russ will perform at Hangout from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

On Saturday, May 20, SZA’s headlining set is slotted for 9:45 p.m. on the Hangout stage. Paramore will perform on the Shein Surf Stage from 8:45 to 9:45 p.m. Flume is slated for a 7:45 to 8:45 p.m. set on Hangout, just as Sabrina Carpenter (6:45 to 7:45 p.m.) finishes on the Shein Surf Stage. Saturday’s other artists include AJR (5:30 to 6:45 p.m.), Kidd G (1:30 to 2:30 p.m.), Ferg (8:15 to 9:15 p.m.), and more.

The party will wrap on Sunday, May 21, with Calvin Harris (9:30 p.m.) and The Kid Laroi (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.) on the Hangout stage, while Shein Surf Stage hosts Skrillex (8:30 to 9:30 p.m.), Ashnikko (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.), and Noah Kahan (4:30 to 5:30 p.m.). Kevin Gates is slated for the Boom stage from 8 to 9 p.m..

The Kid LAROI Makes Up For Accidental Dine & Dash In A Big Way

The Kid LAROI is one of the biggest artists in the world right now. Overall, he is someone who has crossed over from hip-hop into the pop world. His song “Stay” with Justin Bieber became one of the biggest hits in the world, and he continues to grow his fanbase. Additionally, he is about to embark on a tour with the likes of Lil Baby. Needless, to say, he is having himself a great time in the music world. For most of his fans, his stardom can only grow from here.

Unfortunately, his reputation almost took a massive hit last night. This was due to a report from TMZ claiming that The Kid LAROI had committed a dine-and-dash with his friends in Springfield, Missouri. Of course, a dine-and-dash is when you eat at a restaurant and then leave without paying. The wait staff at Dublin’s Pass Irish Pub & Restaurant thought that’s what happened as LAROI never paid for the meals that he and his friends purchased.

However, as TMZ recently reported, LAROI became aware of the TMZ article and realized that a misunderstanding had occurred. The artist claims that his security guards were the ones who have access to his card. Although, they clearly forgot to do so. LAROI’s tab was upwards of $133, and he immediately paid it off. Moreover, he gave his waitress a massive $2,500 tip. Needless to say, he made up for the unfortunate mistake. It just goes to show that the kid has great character.

Perhaps in the future, The Kid LAROI will be looking to change how he handles his cards. Either way, someone made a bad mistake, and LAROI almost lost his reputation. However, everything is settled, and he is good to continue on his string of shows, and eventual tour with Lil Baby. Let us know your thoughts on the situation, down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news from around the music world.

Wealthy Musician The Kid Laroi Allegedly Dined And Dashed At A Restaurant After A Concert

Earlier this year, The Kid Laroi excited fans with the announcement of his debut album aptly titled The First Time. There have been some singles, including “Where Does Your Spirit Go” and “Kids Are Growing Up (Part 1).” However, in light of a new scandal, it looks like the kids are in fact not growing up.

According to TMZ, The Kid Laroi, real name Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, dined and dashed in Springfield, Missouri on Tuesday night (May 2) after his concert. At Dublin’s Pass Irish Pub & Restaurant, the singer was allegedly placed in a private room to enjoy dinner. The group ordered over a hundred dollars worth of food and then claimed they were stepping outside for a smoke break. The manager of the restaurant, Autumn Gray, says they never returned. The Kid Laroi has not yet commented on the situation.

Surely he has enough money to pay the bill — he just played Coachella, honoring the late Juice WRLD and Saiko with a tribute. “This wasn’t in the release plans, but I played it this weekend at Coachella,” he posted on social media, “and I just felt like the time was right for some reason.” He’s also set to star in a forthcoming A24 film Y2K.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again Welcomed Post Malone And The Kid Laroi For His Relaxed ‘What You Say’ Single

YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been making the most of his house arrest in Utah (as documented by Billboard in February). He dropped I Rest My Case in January, and it’s followed by Don’t Try This At Home today, April 21. We already knew the newer album housed “WTF” featuring Nicki Minaj, as the single was released earlier this month, but the roster of featured artists doesn’t end there.

The video for “What You Say” featuring Post Malone and The Kid Laroi also dropped today.

The Isaac Garcia-directed video begins with a comic-book-like animation before we find YoungBoy Never Broke Again cooling by the fire at night in the snowy Utah mountains. (Posty also resides in Utah.) YoungBoy boasts in the chorus, “F*ck what they say / I done made it out the storm / Check my bank, I made new commas / I can’t take no break, I’m way too young.”

About 90 seconds in, The Kid Laroi emerges from the woods and joins in on the hard-earned bragging, “All this drama, baby, I’m too rich for that / All these commas like I’m an aristocrat.” Post Malone brings it home, sitting on a snow mobile and singing about giving people “somethin’ they can copy off” and refusing to “have my baby rockin’ knockoffs.” (Post became a first-time father last year.)

On the same day, The Kid Laroi is showing his softer side with the solo single “Where Does Your Spirit Go?” Post Malone is also fresh off the release of the similarly introspective track “Chemical.”

Lil Baby Will Hit The Road With The Kid Laroi, GloRilla, Gloss Up, And More For The ‘It’s Only Us Tour’

In late March, Lil Baby surprised fans in Florida by making a guest appearance on the Future and Friends One Big Party Tour. Future bringing out the “California Breeze” rapper on stage must’ve reignited Lil Baby’s love for performing live to a stadium of roaring fans. So much so that in his latest social media post, the entertainer took time away from his vacation to scout opening acts for a tour of his own.

As he runs the idea by fellow musicians The Kid Laroi, GloRilla, and Gloss Up on FaceTime, everyone eagerly agrees to join Lil Baby on the road for his It’s Only Us Tour. Although the Atlanta native is set to perform at the Metro Metro Festival in Montreal and The Governors Ball music festival prior, the tour officially kicks off in July.

Rylo Rodriguez and Hunxho will also join the It’s Only Us Tour as opening support.

Tickets for Lil Baby’s It’s Only Us Tour go on sale beginning on Thursday, April 13, at 10 am local time. For more information, click here.
