Unfortunately, due to ongoing legal woes, Polo G hasn’t been able to fulfill a promise him made to fans back in August 2023. Well, that’s until now. After several unforeseen delays, the “Sorrys & Ferraris” rapper’s long-awaited album, Hood Poet, finally has an official release date.

Today (July 30), Polo G took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal the exciting news. “Hood Poet, August 9th,” he wrote. “The wait finally Over 🖤🖤.”

That information alone would have been sufficient. But after nearly a year of setbacks, Polo treated his followers to a bit more. “Plus, me and Smurk this Friday #weuhshoot,” he wrote.

A fresh collaboration between Lil Durk and Polo G set users online off.

“Finally getting my therapy collab, Polo G X Lil Durk yaayyyy🕺,” wrote one user.

The forthcoming single will mark the project’s forth singles, following “Barely Holdin’ On,” “Distraction,” and “Angels In The Sky.”

According to the promotional graphic, Polo G shared alongside the newly unveiled artwork, Hood Poet will feature guest appearances by GloRilla, Future, Offset, G Herbo, 42 Dugg, Hunxho, The Kid LaRoi, and Fridayy.

According to the tracklist uploaded to Apple Music, Hood Poet has a total of 18 tracks. With a release date formerly locked in, fans have one question—is a tour in the works?

Hood Poet is out on 8/9 via Columbia. Find more information here.

The Kid LAROI Pays Homage To Early 2000s Pop Hits With “GIRLS”

The Kid LAROI is rocking frosted tips and staring daggers in the music video for “GIRLS”. If those two things do not scream 2000s to you, then we do not know what to tell you. The Australian multi-genre superstar is paying homage to a time in music that was dominated by acts like NSYNC, Christina Aguilera, and more. Overall, “GIRLS” is a fun summertime radio bop about being the man all the ladies want. The instrumental is quite addicting and definitely draws from that era. Helping that come to live is a healthy list of producers, including current pop/alternative star, Jon Bellion.

LAROI’s performance is also very reminiscent of that time, as her rocks a more lowkey and monotone delivery. It sounds quite similar to something Jack Harlow would lay down on a track. Speaking of which, fans on The KID LAROI’s Instagram have since been demanding Harlow hop on a remix. It would be a great match, as the Kentucky rapper’s voice would fit perfectly over this mellow production. People are also asking for his new girlfriend and fellow pop sensation Tate McRae to join him for a new version of “GIRLS”. We will have to wait and see about either of those possibilities, but LAROI should look into that. The single is already trending on YouTube, as it has over one million views so far.

The Kid LAROI & Lil Yachty Are Acting Petty On “HATRED”

The Kid LAROI continues to tease the deluxe for THE FIRST TIME with a new single called “HATRED.” This is now the second promotional track that is expected to be a part of it when it drops sometime this year. The Australian native dropped his debut album back in November 2023 with some massive tracks on it. “TOO MUCH” with Central Cee and Jung Kook continues to the lead way with over 127 million streams.

“HATRED” follows a familiar theme for LAROI, as he raps about a past relationship. In this instance, the split has led to become driven to boss up. He also mentions how he was too good for her, even though the woman does not want to think so. “Okay, remind you, I’m the most hated / Talkin’ down on me online but in real life, you know I’m your favorite / If you were to write me a thank you letter, it’d be long as the motherf***in’ yellow pages.”

The Kid Laroi Unveils The Romantic ‘Still Yours,’ From His New Documentary ‘Kids Are Growing Up’

Never mind the “industry plant” whispers, The Kid Laroi’s journey to success was far from easy. No, the “Heaven” rapper doesn’t come from a well-connected industry family (hi, nepo babies). He kept his head down to work at his craft, and thanks to a viral song, he’s broken through to the mainstream.

In his new Prime Video documentary, Kids Are Growing Up: A Story About A Kid Named Laroi, he gave viewers a first-hand look at his unwavering work ethic. Laroi also shared a glimpse into making his album, The First Time. He even teased some new music. Today (March 1), that record, “Still Yours,” is available for the public to enjoy.

Co-produced by Dopamine and Omer Fedi, “Still Yours” is a romantic ballad showing that Laroi proudly walks around with his heart on his sleeve. “My stomach twists and turns whenever I think about / You layin’ up, yeah, next to someone like him / I know that it’s been over for some months, but I feel / I’m still, I’m still / I’m still yours / Tell me, where did I go wrong,” sings Laroi.

On Instagram, Laroi penned a note to fans as they prepared to tune into his film. “This isn’t a documentary that’s necessarily focused on the whole come-up story,” he wrote. “But more on how I’ve navigated (or tried my best to at least) the last 4ish years. The goal of this, for me, is to hopefully inspire and let you know that you’re not alone in whatever you may be going through. Also, to show you, I still have a long way to go and a lot of room to grow.”

The Kid LAROI Shares “Still Yours” After Release Of Documentary “KIDS ARE GROWING UP”

After taking quite a long break, Australian multi-talent The Kid LAROI has been constantly feeding his starving fan base. 2023 was perhaps his biggest and most important year of his still young career. Especially after all of the hype around him in 2021, there was a crowd out there starting to move on from the Juice WRLD protege. Last year he put out his debut album, THE FIRST TIME, and had a big-time placement on the Barbie soundtrack with “Forever & Again.”

Now in 2024, The Kid LAROI is stepping into the world of film with his documentary. It is currently available on Prime Video as of February 29, essentially giving us a behind the scenes look at how the Aussie became such a megastar. According to the press release, Justin Bieber is also featured in the biopic, as LAROI sits down with another one of his idols to talk about their relationship and hit song “STAY.” To help bring more hype around this project, the 20-year-old is back to deliver the previously teased “Still Yours.”

The Kid Laroi’s Journey From Start To Stardom Is Chronicled In ‘Kids Are Growing Up,’ A New Documentary

The Kid Laroi has been a certified star for a few years now and he’s only 20 years old. Indeed, he burst onto the international music scene as a teen phenom, and now his fascinating rise to stardom will be chronicled in a new full-length documentary, Kids Are Growing Up: A Story About A Kid Named Laroi.

The film is set to premiere on Amazon’s Prime Video on February 29, and a trailer is out now.

A press release notes of the movie:

Kids Are Growing Up tells the intimate story of Charlton ‘The Kid Laroi’ Howard who went from an unknown musician living in Australia to a teenage global superstar selling out his hometown arena on back-to-back nights in just three years. The film captures a unique moment in time, as Laroi enters adulthood, navigating the pressures of rapid fame, struggles with his mental health, first love, and the tragic death of his mentor — the late great Juice WRLD. Cameras began rolling before the massive success of ‘Stay’ and continue as Laroi gears up for his first world tour and studio album. As Laroi is forced to deal with problems greater than his age, he searches for what happiness truly means, and how to handle outsized expectations from the public, those closest to him, and himself.”

The release also notes that Justin Bieber and Post Malone will be featured in the film.

Check out the trailer above.

The Kid LAROI Wants To Be Around For As Long As He Can On Somber Cut “HEAVEN”

The Kid LAROI finally made his comeback with his debut album THE FIRST TIME back in November of 2023. In typical fashion, the rapper and singer put a lot of different soundscapes on his record. From trap rap to singer/songwriter, LAROI brought out everything he had creatively onto one album. The Aussie spoke a lot about the things that have been weighing on him, especially during the project’s rollout.

Fast forward to late January 2024 and we already have new music from the multi-talent. The 20-year-old phenom is back with a new single called “HEAVEN.” According to Genius and Uproxx, this is going to be a part of a new record, or a deluxe version of the debut. There is no word on when any of that will be out, but those are the rumors going around right now.

“HEAVEN” is a brutally honest, self-assessing track about looking inward and fixing the problems in your life. LAROI talks about his nights of drug and alcohol abuse and how he wants to do what he can to live a long and fulfilling life. He sings with pain over a somber and cold beat. It might be the most gut-wrenching and powerful performance he has ever put out in his career. It really is a fantastic effort and one we encourage you to check out. Additionally, you can read the thoughtful message he put on his Instagram, explaining the meaning of the song.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “HEAVEN,” by The Kid LAROI? Should this song have made it onto the final version of THE FIRST TIME? How many songs should he add to the deluxe? What songs from the debut are still in your rotation and why? Is this his most powerful performance? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this.
