GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-platinum global superstar The Kid LAROI has returned with “Slow It Down”, a dynamic new single featuring Quavo, available now. Marking their first collaboration, the track blends nostalgia with contemporary flair.

“Slow It Down” draws inspiration from Juvenile’s 2003 hit “Slow Motion”, reinterpreted through LAROI’s melodic delivery and Quavo’s signature flow. The track features resounding strings and a thumping bass line, creating a timeless vibe that bridges early 2000s influence with modern production. LAROI’s reflective lyrics, “You’re moving too fast, I’m trying to make it last,” set a mellow tone, while Quavo’s head-nodding bounce adds an irresistible energy.

The release follows a teaser from their recent studio session and coincides with LAROI’s headlining THE FIRST TIME Australian tour, which kicked off in Gold Coast.

The Kid Laroi & Quavo Want To “Slow It Down” On Their Collab

After taking a long hiatus following the release of F*CK LOVE 3+: OVER YOU in 2021, The Kid LAROI came back firing on all cylinders in 2023 with his official debut album. THE FIRST TIME features hits like “NIGHTS LIKE THIS” with some of the deluxe cuts now causing some buzz. “BABY I’M BACK” and “GIRLS” are the ones ringing off at the moment. However, now the youngster from Australia is back in this creative groove, he doesn’t want to slow things down. The Kid LAROI is here this weekend with “SLOW IT DOWN,” a sexier pop rap/pop crossover with former Migo, Quavo. It’s their first collaboration and given their ability to adjust to so many genres, the team-up almost makes too much sense.

The single follows up on “APEROL SPRITZ,” an indirect love letter to pop star and girlfriend, Tate McRae. Given the lack of time in between releases, it seems like LAROI is back in album mode. Genius apparently has the inside scoop, with WATCH THIS! being the supposed title. The “STAY” rapper and singer hasn’t formally announced anything on his socials, but we think this is a real possibility. He’s on a hot streak, so why ruin that? “SLOW IT DOWN” definitely has the potential to be another hit for LAROI with its sticky melody and chorus. Check it out with the link below and see if you agree with our assessment.

The Kid Laroi And Quavo ‘Slow It Down’ On Their Hedonistic New Single

Back in August, The Kid Laroi returned with the cocky single “Baby I’m Back,” following it up in October with “Aperol Spritz.” His latest single is the hedonistic “Slow It Down,” on which he put the request to pump the brakes to a paramour who has been going a little too hard of late. Built over an interpolation of Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women, Part 1,” and featuring a pull from the hook of Juvenile’s 2003 hit “Slow Motion,” “Slow It Down” features a typically boastful verse from Quavo.

After Laroi notes that his newfound lover “moving too fast” in the wake of a few fly outs (hey, that’s just what happens when you go around love bombing these ladies, kid), Quavo backs him up but also maybe makes things worse after listing all the ways he can make her life more exciting. “Slow motion better than no motion,” he raps. “Shoppin’, drop a bag, I got the store closin’.” This leads to Laroi once again complaining, then explaining, “You’re moving too fast / I’m tryna make it last.”

It certainly seems like a new album from The Kid Laroi is on the way, but first, he’s one of the many artists set to appear on iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball Tour for 2024.

You can listen to The Kid Laroi’s new single “Slow It Down” featuring Quavo above.

In The Kid Laroi’s ‘Aperol Spritz’ Video He Is The Ultimate Woman Whispering Blue-Eyed Bachelor, But His Heart Is Taken

The Kid Laroi quickly found fame following his musical breakout, and he’s been keen on documenting it all. With popular come admirers of all kinds. However, luckily for girlfriend and fellow musician Uproxx cover star Tate McRae he’s a one woman type of guy or so his new single, “Aperol Spritz” states.

In the official Alex Lill directed video for “Aperol Spritz,” The Kid Laroi doesn’t break that vow despite becoming the ultimate woman whispering blue-eyed bachelor. With women of all shapes, sizes, and shades chasing after him, The Kid Laroi lets the crowd know his hard is happily taken.

“I drink Henn’, she drink Aperol Spritz / Girl, I promise you ain’t had it like this / There’s a whole lotta girls up in here, but / Can’t nobody f*ck with my b*tch / My favorite hobby is probably gettin’ rich / I see them talk, but they hardly on sh*t / There’s a whole lotta girls up in here / Can’t nobody f*ck with my b*tch,” raps The Kid Laroi.

The Kid Laroi’s bragging carries on throughout each verse. But instead of addressing the thirsty ladies, he turns his attention to his special lady, rapping: “And I know you out with friends, but I promise, baby, ain’t sh*t changed / And I ain’t seen you in so long, but it’s worth every minute I wait / Take you shoppin’, I’ma spend it on you just for love / I know you told me that you’re scared, but I’ma switch it up ’cause / You brought two friends, and they both fine / Hey, but you don’t gotta worry, baby, you’re mine.”

The Kid LAROI Gasses Up Tate McRae On “APEROL SPRITZ”

The Kid LAROI made a massive comeback almost one year ago with the release of his official debut album, THE FIRST TIME. The native Aussie gave listeners a bit of everything sonically on that project from pop rap, trap, singer/songwriter, and more. However, he wasn’t done with that era immediately. After having fans waiting for so long, he wanted to feed them well, and he did just that. Just over two months ago, LAROI dropped off the deluxe version with eight new songs featuring singles “HEAVEN” and “GIRLS.”

Then, just over two weeks ago, him and Gunna linked up for a remix of another deluxe cut in “BABY I’M BACK.” Now, fast forward to this weekend and it seems like The Kid LAROI is ready to shift gears to new things, as he drops off “APEROL SPRITZ.” We only say new because this isn’t a remix or anything like that. The soundscape is something you come to expect from the youngster. The most interesting thing about this single is that it looks to be a love letter to his new boo, Canadian pop star Tate McRae. Why is it called “APEROL SPRITZ?” Well, allegedly, this summery and citrusy alcoholic drink is McRae’s favorite. There are also apparently some callbacks to how they first met, so if you are into that sort of thing, knock yourself out with the link below.

The Kid LAROI Adds Gunna To Remix Of “BABY I’M BACK”

The Kid LAROI had fans waiting for his debut album, THE FIRST TIME, for quite a while. He acknowledged this fact with his fans on Instagram ahead of its release, thanking them for their unwavering support. “Thank you for sticking around this long and im sorry that sometimes it’s hard being a supporter of mine. I’ve had a lot of different experiences these past couple of years and life has been nothing short of insane… Extremely grateful that I get to share this stuff with you all. I wouldn’t be anything without y’all so thank you again. I love you all beyond words”. After getting this project, it’s safe to say that the Australian multi-talent is making up for lost time. He just dropped off the deluxe last month, and now, The Kid LAROI is back with another release with Gunna.

They are combining their crossover abilities to deliver a remix of “BABY I’M BACK”, an alternate version of one of the deluxe cuts. Not much changes structurally or instrumentally, outside of Gunna’s verse now being the second, with LAROI’s now being the third. If you haven’t heard the first “BABY I’M BACK”, the track samples Player’s classic soft rock track, “Baby Come Back”. Check out the rendition below.

The Kid LAROI Expands Upon His Debut With “THE FIRST TIME (DELUXE VERSION)”

The Kid LAROI made a massive comeback late last year by finally giving his eager fanbase his debut album THE FIRST TIME. The project saw the Aussie dip his toes into multiple genres such as pop, R&B, hip-hop, in addition to more singer/songwriter types of cuts. Even though there are 20 tracks on the original project, the 20-something superstar wanted to give back to those who were patiently awaiting his grand return. So, The Kid LAROI is here with the deluxe version of THE FIRST TIME.

The “STAY” artist announced that this was going to be a thing just several days after its release on social media. However, a drop date was still up in the air. LAROI would lead things off with “HEAVEN” back in late January, “HATRED” with Lil Yachty in April, and the ode to 2000s pop/R&B with “GIRLS” in late June. With this DELUXE VERSION, the singer, rapper, and songwriter has five other tracks to offer. One pf them is a sequel to “NIGHTS LIKE THIS”, one of the most replayed tracks from the inaugural set.

The Kid Laroi Declares ‘Baby I’m Back’ On The Cocky New Single From His ‘The First Time Deluxe’ Album

On November 2023, The Kid Laroi released his debut studio album, The First Time. But, the “Where Does Spirit Go” musician isn’t quite done with the body of work.

Today (August 9), The Kid Laroi treated supporters to a five-pack of fresh track off of its deluxe edition, the standout being the Antonio “Dopamine” Zito and Rogét Chahayed co-produced record “Baby I’m Back.”

On the song, which samples Player’s hit “Baby Come Back,” The Kid Laroi talks about his continuously rising star power, its pitfalls, and of course, his love life. As he’s already proven to be a helpless romantic, instead of reflecting on the end of a relationship, he confirms the start a new connection.

“It’s been a crazy last year, I’m tryna process still / I don’t even know how I should feel / I got a couple big houses and some whips, maybe three / And I got family members that got bigger egos than me / And I got fans around the world whenever I’m overseas,” he raps.

Then he turns his attention to the not so glamorous side of fame, rapping: “And I got friends who just pretend and say they love everything / And yes I fell in love again, I thought that sh*t was impossible / And I promise it’s too rеal for me to care what they think / I promisе I don’t give a f*ck because I know who I am.”

If you are a fan of The Kid Laroi, none of this should come as a surprise, as it was heavily featured in his documentary, Kids Are Growing Up. But, it still makes for an enjoyable record.
