Rick Ross Says He’s Afraid To Own A Tesla Because He Might Get Hacked

Rick Ross says that he’s apprehensive about owning a Tesla because he’s afraid the government will hack into it. He explained his reasoning during a video shared on Instagram, earlier this week.

Ross believes that police will be able to gain control over a Tesla if involved in a high-speed getaway.

“I won’t have a smart car. Well, I won’t say I won’t have a smart car. But I’ve never ridden in a Tesla, never in my life,” he said. “And the reason being is because I’ve always had in the back of my mind, the government could tap into the brain of the car.”

“‘Ok, where’s Rick?’” Ross mimicked. “‘He’s over there. Bring him in for questioning.’ N***a like, ‘Where am I going? It’s leaving Wing Stop before the wings are even done!’ You pull up to the building and an agent walk out, ‘Hey, Rick.’”

Not everyone is in agreement with Ross’ opinion. Many social media users pointed out in response that tons of cars are made with computers nowadays and could potentially be hacked into. Additionally, Ross uses plenty of other technology that could be tapped into.

Despite reservations about the line of cars, Ross has previously said that he’d trust Elon Musk regarding a trip to Mars. Running into the Tesla owner alongside Diddy and French Montana at Kanye West’s Donda 2 listening party, last year, Ross asked for an invite to space.

[WATCH] Doctor Charged With Attempted Murder After Driving Family 250 Feet Off Cliff

A Pasadena radiologist was charged with attempted murder and child abuse after he drove a Tesla 250 feet off a cliff in San Mateo, CA. on Monday, Jan. 2.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Dharmesh A. Patel, 42, of Pasadena, his wife, 41, and two children – ages 4 and 7 – were inside the Tesla when the car plunged off the side of a cliff at a spot known as the Devil’s Slide.

Witnesses say the car was speeding when it veered off the highway and plunged over the cliff. CHP officials said the car made an initial impact before flipping multiple times and landing on its wheels on the rocks below.

All four occupants walked away from the wreckage. Initial reports claimed all 4 occupants were injured. But according to updated reports, the children were unharmed.

The children reportedly told CHP their father tried to kill them.

Rescue teams risked their lives descending down the steep, jagged cliff to airlift the four occupants to safety. CBS News chopper video shows the harrowing rescue from a Tesla at the bottom of a cliff just feet away from the Pacific Ocean.

Teslas have a self-driving feature and a manual option, but investigators don’t know which one was in use at the time of the crash. CHP said the driving mode “does not appear to be a contributing factor in this incident.”

The spot where the car went off the cliff has no guardrail and it is known for fatal accidents.

“We go there all the time for cars over the cliff and they never live. This was an absolute miracle,” CHP said. “CHP investigators worked throughout the night interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence from the scene. Based on the evidence collected, investigators developed probable cause to believe this incident was an intentional act,” the CHP said.

Officials believe the Tesla Model Y’s safety features and airbags may have saved the family. The sticker price of a Tesla Model Y ranges from $65,990 – $69,990.

According to DailyMail.com, the Tesla Model Y has multiple airbags: front airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, and curtain airbags, all of which appeared to have inflated upon impact.

Patel was discharged from a hospital on Wednesday and moved to the San Mateo County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Elon Musk Is The First Person Ever To Lose $200 Billion

Elon Musk has certainly been all over the news in recent months. It appears as though this trend will be continuing into the new year.

His recent acquisition of Twitter and his controversial ways of handling the company remains one of the most discussed topics online. The latest story says that the 51-year-old reportedly lost $200 billion. However, this has nothing to do with the social media platform.

Musk is the first person in history to lose this much money from his net worth. The huge financial loss arrives at the heels of Tesla shares dropping drastically. According to Bloomberg‘s Billionaires Index, the stock saw an 11% decrease on Tuesday (December 27).

Of course, this news comes nearly two years after he became only the second person to ever reach a personal fortune of more than $200 billion. Although, even after the loss, his net worth is still estimated to be a whopping $137 billion.

In other recent news surrounding the SpaceX CEO, reports allege that he is responsible for another mass firing at Twitter. In an effort to cut costs, Musk fired every member of the janitorial staff at the company’s San Fransisco offices.

“With people packed into more confined spaces, the smell of leftover takeout food and body odor has lingered on the floors, according to four current and former employees. Bathrooms have grown dirty, these people said. And because janitorial services have largely been ended, some workers have resorted to bringing their own rolls of toilet paper from home,” writes The New York Times in their report.

Just a couple of weeks ago, he announced he will be stepping down as Twitter’s CEO in the near future. This came after he ran a poll asking the platform’s users if he should do so. “I will abide by the results of this poll,” he writes. After over 17 million votes, 57.5% of them answered yes. It will certainly be interesting to see if he sticks to his word.

Tesla To Finish As One Of The Worst Performing Stocks Of 2022

Tesla is set to finish 2022 as one of the worst-performing stocks of the year. In the two months since owner Elon Musk purchased Twitter, shares of Tesla have dropped 45%. In total, the stock is down 65% since January.

Instead of uncertainty in Musk, himself, since the Twitter acquisition, the billionaire says interest rates are to blame.

“In simple terms: as bank savings account interest rates, which are guaranteed, start to approach stock market returns, which are not guaranteed, people will increasingly move their money out of stocks into cash, thus causing stocks to drop,” Musk recently wrote on Twitter.

Tesla investor and Future Fund manager Gary Black challenged him in the replies. He cited differences between Telsa’s fall-off and the rest of the market.

“Elon – you can’t compare a very short duration bank with long duration $TSLA stock…,” Black wrote back. “Since you closed on TWTR, TSLA [is down] -38% vs NDX [Nasdaq 100] -1%. If it was all [interest] rates, NDX would be down a similar amount.”

Musk has sold nearly $40 billion worth of Tesla stock since last year. As recently as earlier this month, he dropped off another $3.6 billion. Afterward, he vowed to stop selling Tesla stock until at least 2024; however, he’s broken similar promises in the past.

Additionally, Tesla is offering a $7,500 discount on Model 3 and Model Y vehicles delivered in the U.S. this month.

Musk said last week that he intends to resign as head of Twitter once the company identifies a successor. He previously ran a poll asking whether he should do so.

Elon Musk’s 2020 EDM Song ‘Don’t Doubt Ur Vibe’ Triumphantly Returns In A New Tesla Ad

It seems like Elon Musk never stops, and in early 2020, he even found time to release an EDM song, “Don’t Doubt Ur Vibe.” It’s been about two-and-a-half years since the track came out and now it’s back, via a new Tesla ad.

The clip runs for about 90 seconds and features four Tesla cars putting on a light show in a warehouse, synchronized to the song. The tune’s lyrics — “Don’t doubt your vibe / Because it’s true / Don’t doubt your vibe / Because it’s you” — are also projected on a wall.

Meanwhile, Musk was recently amused by a Billie Eilish meme about him, which has childhood photos of them both and reads, “One day, Billie Eilish was walking outside and she saw a boy crying. She said to him ‘Here kid, have a roll of Air Conditioning Pair Coil 1/4’ by 3/8’ 410A 20m Polyethylene UV protected insulated Copper heat resistant to 120C. You’re destined to do great things.’ That boy was Elon Musk.” Musk added, “Still so grateful.”

Elsewhere, the world’s richest person recently declared his two main goals for the year are getting his SpaceX Starship to orbit and the wide release of FSD (full self-driving) in Tesla cars, adding, “Many other things, of course, but those are the 2 giant kahunas. Will require insane work by many super talented people, but, if anyone can do it, they can. It is an honor to work with such awesome human beings.”

Back in January, Saweetie tapped Doja Cat for the joint single “Best Friend,” a sizzling celebration of every woman’s irreplaceable partner-in-crime. Now to future promote their track, Saweetie and Doja Cat have partnered with Telsa to gift a Model S car to a few lucky fans in a giveaway contest.

Announcing the official “Bestie In A Tessie” giveaway in a video posted to Instagram, Saweetie shared the news. “I am doing a huge giveaway. I’m not only giving away one, but two brand-new Teslas,” she said. “They’re sleek, they’re sexy, and they’re hella spacious.”

Speaking about her decision to hold the giveaway, Saweetie said: “My Icy family has shown so much love towards the ‘Best Friend’ track and I’m hyped to return the love to two lucky fans with these two Teslas.”

While Saweetie’s most recent collaboration was with Doja Cat, it seems as though the rapper may be collaborating with another groundbreaking hip-hop artist. Earlier this month, Cardi B’s sister Hennessy spilled some news about a possible joint track with Saweetie. According to Hennessy, Cardi and Saweetie’s managers are in talks about a mysterious project that the two are working on, meaning that a new single could be on the way.
