Takeoff Died Without A Will, Parents Fighting Over Estate: Report

The hip-hop community is continuing to mourn the tragic and sudden death of Takeoff just last month. The Migos member was shot and killed in Houston on November 1. The shooting allegedly stemmed from an altercation that broke out over a game of dice at a private party. He was only 28 years old.

It’s now being reported that he died without a will. His estimated net worth of $26 million currently has no heirs and is causing trouble among his parents.

Battle For Takeoff Estate

The Atlanta native’s mother, Titania Davenport-Treet, and his father, Kenneth M Ball are fighting over who will distribute their son’s assets.

According to Georgia law, without a will, his closest relatives have exclusive rights over both his money and assets. Included in these assets is his extensive music catalog, as well as residual income from the “Casper” rapper’s record sales.

Davenport-Treet and Ball each believe that they should have the right to control their son’s estate and distribute these assets how they wish.

His estranged parents reportedly don’t get along already, so this is causing even more issues within the family.

Take rapped about being raised by a single mother on a few instances throughout his career as the most underrated member of the Migos. “And most of us got single parents, only a mother / N****s in the kitchen whipping chickens, tryna get butter,” he rapped on the 2015 Migos track, “Highway 85.”

On the trio’s smash hit, “T-Shirt,” he famously rapped about his mom encouraging him to stay off the streets.

Ball is contesting that he was around to parent and assist in raising his child.

Just last week, Houston police arrested and charged the gunman with murder in Takeoff’s death.

Takeoff’s first posthumous verse was released last week. He appeared on the track “Feel The Fiyaaaah” alongside A$AP Rocky, off of Metro Boomin’s sophomore album, HEROES & VILLAINS.

Offset Pens Message For Fans Posting Takeoff

Offset has been publicly grieving the loss of his cousin and Migos member Takeoff. Since the 28-year old’s shocking death, fans flooded social media with their well wishes and condolences for the slain star. Offset took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a message with fans about posting Takeoff following his passing.

The 30-year old rapper shared an image of Jesus Christ on his Instagram story with a special caption. “Don’t post Takeoff unless it’s in a good light please,” Offset wrote. No word on what sparked the “CODE” rapper’s message. While fans were confused about the photo, many agreed with Offset’s message. “Is there even bad stuff about Take,” one fan wrote. “He was always so humble and lowkey.” Another added, “NO TAKEOFF SLANDER WILL BE TOLERATED EVER.”

Offset’s post comes on the heels of celebrating Takeoff’s life over the weekend. He arrived at Miami’s E11EVEN venue on Thursday with his wife Cardi B before taking the stage to perform some of his biggest hits. The performance marked Offset’s first performance since Take’s passing. He honored his late cousin and bandmate during his Miami show. “We are going to go Takeoff crazy in here tonight. I’m doing this for my brother.” Offset shared before performing Migos hits like “Bad and Boujee” and “Fight Night.”

Takeoff was shot and killed on November 1 while attending a private dice game in Houston with his Uncle Quavo. 33-year old Patrick Xavier Clark has been arrested and charged with the murder of the young rapper. Clark made his first court appearance on Monday, where he was accused of attempting to flea the country before his arrest.

However, his lawyers denied the claims, adding that Clark had planned a trip to Mexico before being arrested and charged. Clark was caught on camera shooting his gun in one hand, with a wine bottle in the other hand, outside the 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley the night TakeOff was killed. He is currently being held in police custody with $2 million bond.

Suspect In Takeoff’s Murder Case Is “Nervous” & Concerned”: Report

The shocking death of Takeoff is still felt throughout Hip Hop, but prosecutors believe they found his killer in Patrick Xavier Clark. Arrests have been made in connection to the untimely death of the Migos star, but Clark denies he’s responsible. It was in the wee morning hours of November 1 when Takeoff attended a private party at a Houston bowling alley. A verbal argument ensued and shots were fired, striking the beloved rapper in the head and back. It has been reported by investigators that Takeoff wasn’t involved in the disagreement.

Meanwhile, Clark made his first court appearance this week, where his attorney argued on his behalf. Although Clark didn’t say a word during the hearing, lawyer Letitia Quinones told the judge he was “nervous” and “concerned.” This was because “he’s being charged with something that he believes he’s innocent of, so how would anyone do in that type of circumstance?”

In recent press conferences, police have pleaded with the public to help with acquiring information about the case. Although it was stated that upwards of 30 people were in the room when Takeoff was killed, investigators still struggle to find cooperative witnesses.

Additionally, two other people, a man and a woman, sustained gunshot wounds during the incident, but they weren’t life-threatening. The relationship between Clark and Takeoff is unknown; however, the suspect is widely recognized as DJ Pat.

Quinones was questioned about Clark and Takeoff’s connection. “We really don’t want to go into the facts at this point,” she said. Quinones added that this was all a “tragedy and it’s happening well too often in our communities.”

“There is a lot of investigation that needs to be done,” she stated. “So, we just ask that everyone keep an open mind and let the system do its part and let the Constitution do its part, and that is, right now, he’s innocent until he’s proven guilty.”

The attorney also denied that her client was attempting to flee to Mexico. It was reported that Clark filed for an emergency passport and was arrested with a large sum of cash.

Takeoff’s Mother And Father Are Fighting Over His Estate After He Died Without A Will

The tragic killing of Migos’ Takeoff in a Houston bowling alley was a shock to his fans as well as his family. Now, Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball, is said to have a net worth of $26 million with no heirs.

Takeoff’s mother and father, Titania Davenport-Treet and Kenneth M Ball, are fighting over who will control his estate because without a will to distribute his assets, Georgia law says that his closest relatives now have exclusivity rights over his money and assets, including his valuable catalog and residual income from record sales. This has created a larger wedge between his estranged parents, who reportedly already do not get along.

It is reported that Takeoff was raised in a single parent home by his mother with little assistance from Mr. Ball. Both sides are contesting Mr. Ball’s involvement in his oldest child’s life.

Shortly after Takeoff was murdered, his father posted on FB, “Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball my first love out of my five kids this is so so hard please keep Titania Davenport (Treet) and me (Kenneth M Ball) and the entire family on both sides in your prayers doing our difficult time. No one know the pain I’m feeling right now BUT with GOD I will find peace.”

Quavo And Takeoff Insist That ‘Nothing Changed’ On Their New Single, Despite Missing The Third Migo

Quavo and Takeoff are now a week away from the release of their album Only Built For Infinity Links, and have shared its latest single, “Nothing Changed.” It’s exactly the sort of thumping trap banger you would expect to hear from the duo, with a beat produced by Marcel ’‘Mars’‘ Korkutata and longtime Migos collaborator DJ Durel. The two Atlanta rappers split the track evenly with their verses, spitting rapid-fire boasts, with Quavo name-dropping Batman and Takeoff using an extended “chains” rhyme scheme playing on their album’s title.

If anyone was hoping for a hint about the duo’s ongoing relationship with Offset, they’ll be disappointed, though. Through the three previously released singles — “Hotel Lobby,” “Us Vs. Them,” and “Big Stunna” — they’ve studiously avoided addressing the potential controversy regarding the trio’s potential breakup. The closest they’ve come was an interview explaining why Takeoff wasn’t on their 2017 hit “Bad And Boujee” — hardly a satisfactory explanation for the group’s current status questions.

In July, Quavo did give a promising perspective on the situation, though. “I feel like every group member has to establish themselves,” he told GQ. “Their own body of work. If not, you start losing members.” Maybe we will find out if that’s what’s happening with Migos when Only Built For Infinity Links arrives on October 7 via Motown.
