Live Nation Partner Heather Lowery orchestrated the inaugural Femme It Forward Grammy Weekend High Tea Party in West Hollywood. The event brought together award-winning artists and female executives in music to honor Grammy Nominees Coco Jones, Summer Walker, and Halle Bailey.

As performers and cultural leaders, these women were celebrated for their contributions to the culture of Black women in music and entertainment. My Black is Beautiful, the brand partner, played a pivotal role in bringing this exclusive event to life, reflecting Femme It Forward’s commitment to recognizing and providing visibility for women.

“Success never comes easy, and for most of us in the room—certainly myself—we have to work at least twice as hard as everyone else,” Lowery said in her toast. “A part of me always feels like I am at square one, no matter how long I have been doing this. I am expressing this because I am not alone and know that many people in this room know exactly what I am talking about.”

The star-studded gathering featured entertainment by acclaimed DJs Amapiano DJ, Uncle Waffles, and DJ Rosegold, with a show-stopping performance by UCLA’s Gluck String Quartet dedicated to the honorees. Synchronized swimmers from The Black Swans added a unique visual element, choreographing routines to the tunes of Halle Bailey’s “Angel,” Coco Jones’ “ICU,” and Summer Walker’s “To Summer From Cole.”

Celebrity attendees included AMBRE, Rapsody, Baby Tate, Tierra Whack, Kyla Pratt, Maeta, Lady London, and more. The event offered a multi-sensory culinary and cocktail experience, featuring an upscale tea bar and immersive activations. An art experience curated by Mashonda Tifrere’s ArtLeadHer, in collaboration with Auttrianna Projects and UNREPD, showcased the work of Maya Seas, Megan Lewis, Chantel Walkes, Leah King, and Cortney Herron, empowered by Live Nation Women. Guests also enjoyed luxurious cocktails featuring CÎROC Limonata, a new refreshing flavor from CÎROC’s expanding library of tastes. The Femme It Forward event exemplified the collective celebration and empowerment of women in the music industry.

Chet Hanks Covers Summer Walker’s “Session 32”: Watch

Chet Hanks is best known for being the son of Forrest Gump actor Tom Hanks, and for keeping us laughing with his antics on social media. Though his past hasn’t been perfect, in recent years, the nepo baby has put in serious work on changing his life for the better. His Instagram profile lately has been relatively quiet, though he did end 2023 with a wholesome picture posing with pops. Aside from that, Hanks is also working on music again, covering an R&B classic from Atlanta’s own Summer Walker on Tuesday (January 23).

“Little Summer in the winter, ‘Session 32,’” the entertainer wrote in his caption. He made the song his own by plucking on his guitar while singing. The pink sunset behind him helped set the smooth vibe he was obviously going for. In the comments, friends and fans are encouraging him to keep experimenting with his sound. “I thought this was Frank Ocean,” one user joked. “[I know] Chet’s a real bass player ‘cuz when tf was the last time he changed them strings 😂,” another person laughed.

Chet Hanks Brings Us Summer in the Winter

Expression through singing seems to be helping Hanks tremendously at this stage in his healing journey. “Woke up and wrote my first song,” he told his IG followers in a post in early December. “I was not expecting Chet Hanks to have such a beautiful voice,” one comment on that upload reads.

While reactions to Chet Hanks’ cover of a Summer Walker fan favourite roll in, the Still Over It songstress is teasing us with another potential SZA collab. At the end of December, she shared some snippets of what she might sound like on “Hit Different,” which came out via the TDE signee, Ty Dolla Sign, and The Neptunes in 2020. Check those vocals out at the link below, and tell us what you’d like to hear Chet sing next in the comments.

Summer Walker Is Cooking Up Some Vocals For Possible Remix Of SZA And Ty Dolla $ign’s “Hit Different”

There is no doubt that Summer Walker, SZA, and Ty Dolla $ign possess some of the best talent within the R&B lane. All three have some top-tier projects and hits under their respective belts. Unfortunately, not all three of them have worked on a song together. In fact, Ty and Summer appear on zero tracks as well. However, that could change in a matter of days, hopefully.

Back in 2020, SZA and Ty came through with their smash single “Hit Different.” It was a fairly unexpected release and it dropped around the time SZA was having issues with TDE. Both brought some great harmony and the beat by The Neptunes was equally fantastic. Now, it seems that Summer Walker could be throwing her talents into the ring soon.

A post shared by the Jasmine BRAND (@thejasminebrand)

The Jasmine Brand reposted a video from Summer Walker on their Instagram page of her laying down some vocals. If you listen you can hear her singing “different” behind the familiar production. There is no word if the Georgia singer is going to be on a remix of the single, or if she will release a Summer Walker version with just her on it. Nonetheless, it sounds heavenly as always, as this could be another hit for the beginning of 2024.

What are your initial thoughts on Summer Walker sharing a video of her teasing a new version of SZA and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Hit Different?” Do you think this could be a better song than the original? Based on the snippet, should Summer release this soon? Out of all three singers, who has the best voice and why? Is “Hit Different” still in your rotation? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Summer Walker, SZA, and Ty Dolla $ign. Summer Walker Is Looking For Personal Space On “DROWN IN MY LOVE”

Atlanta, Georgia R&B specialist Summer Walker blessed us with an EP, CLEAR 2: SOFT LIFE back in the latter stages of May. The project had some great features such as J. Cole on “To Summer, From Cole (Audio Hug) and “New Type” with Childish Gambino. The messages of that project were moving away from heartbreak and anxiety, to focusing on loving herself and feeling happy. In the social media space, this implies that Summer is in her soft-life era.

With 2 being in the title, this was a follow-up to the CLEAR tape, which debuted in 2019. After that, Summer put out another EP. That included different versions of one of her hit songs, “Girls Need Love.” Now, she is back with a brand-new cut.

Listen To “DROWN IN MY LOVE” By Summer Walker

This is a short one, as it does not reach the two-minute mark. “DROWN IN MY LOVE” sees Summer still in that soft-life phase. The minimal lyrics still paint a clear picture that she is still not ready for a new love and wants healing to occur first. You can check out the YouTube-exclusive track above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “DROWN IN MY LOVE,” by Summer Walker? Is this the best material she has put out this year, why or why not? Do you think this is a sign of a new album dropping sometime soon? Should this song be longer than it was, or was it just right? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around Summer Walker. You’re starin’ me right in my face
Hopin’ and prayin’ it ain’t too late
But that ain’t a risk I’m willin’ to take (Take)

Two weeks ago, Sexyy Red teased a forthcoming deluxe version of her Hood Hottest Princess album, which initially dropped in June. She posted an Instagram video showing the presumed deluxe album cover soundtracked by her rapping, “F*ck my baby dad.” (The St. Louis-bred rapper is pregnant.)

Luckily, we don’t have to wait much longer to get the full Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe). In fact, that is a gross understatement. The album drops in less than 12 hours — at midnight, December 1.

Sexyy Red shared the tracklist on Instagram, which includes the aforementioned “Booty Meat (F My Baby Dad),” “Ghetto Princess” featuring Chief Keef, “Perfect Match” featuring 42 Dugg and G Herbo, “I Might” featuring Summer Walker, and “Hood Rats” featuring Sukihana.

Sexyy Red just wrapped her Hood Hottest Princess Tour, which spanned from October 16 to Wednesday night, November 29, at The Fillmore in San Francisco, California.

Most recently, Sexyy Red released the video for “Free My N***a.” At the beginning, Sexyy Red says to her pregnant belly, “Say ‘Free My Daddy,’” and we hear a manufactured baby’s voice say, “Free dada.” After that, Sexyy Red — in red lingerie — leads a protest to the gates of a prison and visits with her lover inside.

Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe) is out on 12/1 via Open Shift.
