Stephen Jackson Gives Advice To Ja Morant: “You Made A Mistake!”

This is shaping up to be a week with non-stop Ja Morant updates. The 23-year-old Memphis Grizzlies star has been roped up on legal issues after purportedly flashing a firearm at a teen during a pick-up game. It was also alleged that Morant assaulted the teen, and then last week, while on Instagram Live, the baller showed off a gun. This has sent a shockwave through the NBA, and now, Morant is being investigated by the Glendale Police Department in Colorado. He was said to have been at a bar during the Livestream. In Colorado, it is illegal to possess a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, reports ESPN.

The ongoing investigations have gained several hot takes from commentators and former basketball stars. Stephen Jackson chimed in with a bit of advice for Morant during this challenging time, especially as people claim his NBA career is over. “Y’all ain’t got no experience with this situation. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve made bad choices. It’s about what you do after those bad choices,” said Jackson.

“The only thing I would tell Ja: have the people around you, that care about you and care about your job the way you care about it. Don’t have people around you that care about your job because they care about what you gon’ do for them.” Additionally, “Have the people around you that care about your job enough that they don’t want you to lose it. They don’t want to put you in a position to lose your job and everything you worked for. That’s the people that you need to have around you.”

Jackson doesn’t want Morant to get caught up in making a careless decision. “Understand this Ja,” he further stated. “Don’t let nobody make you feel like the world is over. You made a mistake, bro!” Jackson also said that if a situation ever happened and Morant needed to protect himself, his critics would be the same people who would get online to say he should have been armed.

Statements From The Coach

Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said that Morant if feeling the effects of the controversy. “The focus right now is that Ja’s taken on the responsibility,” said Jenkins. “To really get the help he needs to get into a better place, generally speaking. But also on the flip side, to be in a better place to embrace the responsibilities and expectations as a member of this team.” He added, “That’s what we’re dialoguing about. That’s what we’re going to support him through. We’re also going to hold him accountable, too.” Check out Stephen Jackson above.

Stephen Jackson Says Everyone Knew Jake Paul Would Lose To “Real Boxer” Tommy Fury

The Tommy Fury and Jake Paul fight was one of the year’s most anticipated bouts thus far. Considering we’re just about three months into 2023 doesn’t say much, but Fury and Paul have been trading insults for years. They finally settled the score in the ring with an intense exchange. Paul has moved from a YouTube star to a formidable fighter who boasted a blemish-free record before his Fury face-off. However, Tommy was determined to take the victory.

Once he triumphed over Paul, the internet—and sports industry—lit up with reactions. Several professional athletes, including NBA icon Stephen Jackson, weren’t happy to see how the public reacted. He isn’t one to mince words regarding significant moments in entertainment or politics. He took a moment to share brief commentary on Fury and Paul. “Jake gotta be payin’ all y’all,” said Jackson. “The man lost! Give Tommy Fury his love.”

Because Paul has developed a far-reaching fanbase that goes beyond actual lovers of the sport of boxing, and timelines have been flooded with Fury hate. The British fighter had his first professional bout in 2018 and, since that time, has gone undefeated. “Everybody knew when he fought a real boxer what was gon’ happen,” said Jackson. “Bro, y’all got to stop. People that know boxing knew this was gonna happen. But y’all keep posting this man tryin’ to blow him up. ‘Oh, he still knocked two people down.’” He brought up Adrien Broner as an example.

“Y’all know what y’all did to Adrien Broner when he lost a fight? Y’all killed him! And he a real boxer! He done beat a lot of people.” Jackson mentioned Broner’s stats, including winning in varying weight classes. “Stop it, bruh. Y’all got to stop it. Y’all was killin’ my man AB when he lost the fight. This man got knocked out! Give Tommy Fury his love instead of keep posting, ‘Jake still knocked two people down.’”

Jake Paul Enjoys His Defeat

Jake Paul is still living the good life with his record now forever marred. Immediately following his loss, Paul took to social media to tell the world he still made $30 million from the fight, so no tears were shed about the outcome. Check out Jackson above.

Stephen Jackson Criticizes Al Sharpton’s Tyre Nichols Eulogy: “All For Political Gain”

Today (February 1), the public funeral for Tyre Nichols was livestreamed for the world. The 29-year-old was killed earlier this month by a mob of police officers who savagely beat him. Three days later, Nichols, a father of a four-year-old, succumbed to his injuries. Several political figures and celebrities gathered for Nichols’s homegoing, and Rev. Al Sharpton was responsible for delivering the eulogy.

“The tape speaks for itself. They started beating an unarmed man,” said Sharpton. “In the city where the dreamer laid down and shed his blood, you have the unmitigated gall to beat your brother.” The display is being talked about across social media platforms, and Stephen Jackson chimed in with a hot take.

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE – FEBRUARY 01: Rev. Al Sharpton delivers the eulogy during the funeral service for Tyre Nichols at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church on February 1, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee. On January 7th, 29-year-old Nichols was violently beaten for three minutes by Memphis police officers at a traffic stop and died of his injuries. Five Black Memphis Police officers have been fired after an internal investigation found them to be directly responsible for the beating and have been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, two charges of aggravated kidnapping, two charges of official misconduct and one charge of official oppression. On Instagram, The Shade Room posted about Sharpton’s appearance at Nichols’s funeral. It wasn’t a sight that impressed Jackson, who worked alongside activists when George Floyd was killed by officers in Minnesota. The former NBA giant called out purported leaders who he suggested have ulterior motives.

“Y’all keep letting these folk fool y’all,” Jackson commented. “Same scene Al sharpton and Crump Crew. All for political gain. They pray on people’s pain.” He also said, “Seeen it first hand with G Floyd. If it’s not a national media case u won’t see them. Yet we getting killed everywhere by police. Free game.”

Attorney Ben Crump, who was also at the Nichols funeral, is well-known as a representative for families of police violence. Sharpton has a long history of activism, although his methods have often been criticized by all sides.

It is further reported that five Memphis police officers were fired, all Black men, and another two were relieved of their duties. Additionally, the Memphis Fire Department also made some changes. A lieutenant and two emergency responders were also fired following an investigation. It was stated that they did not adequately administer aid to Nichols following the attack.

Wallo267 Says He Tried To De-Escalate Feud At Boxing Match Involving Meek Mill

Meek Mill went viral over the weekend after he got caught in a heated exchange at a boxing match with another professional boxer. Meek apparently nearly got into it with Gary Russell Jr. but fortunately, things didn’t get to a point of violence.

“I almost fought a boxer telling him this fight not going 12 rounds I missed the big bomb,” Meek tweeted afterward. He also explained that he was respectful to everyone in the section.

Wallo 267 was also seen in the viral footage. Some believed that the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game co-host was ready to leap into the fight alongside Meek but he issued a statement revealing that wasn’t the case. Instead, he tried to de-escalate the situation.

“I would never do anything to hurt or see brothers get hurt. Didn’t touch or disrespect any of my brothers,” he told TheShadeRoom. He further explained that small arguments can transform into ugly situations. However, he wasn’t going to allow that to happen during a night of celebration.

“I know how powerful disagreements are where we come from. I will never let no bs go down & watch our brothers destroy their lives,” he said before encouraging everyone to remain mindful of the energy they put out into the world. “In we must understand, that we gotta be mindful about how our action can affect others businesses. People came to see a fight but a fight is BIG BUSINESS that involves a lot of people taking care of their family. We can never disrespect that business.”

Of course, Gillie Da King chimed in on Wallo’s comments during his morning Instagram posts from bed.

“Wallo went over there and started bitchin’,” Gillie said in response to people praising his cousin for trying to keep the peace. “He jumped right in between n***as like, ‘Hold up, brothas. We don’t want to do this, brothas. This is a celebration of Tank, brothas.’”

Over the years, Wallo became a prominent activist in his community who uses his platform to uplift the community.

Stephen Jackson Explains Heated Confrontation At Gervonta Davis Fight

Before Gervonta Davis took on Hector Garcia, there was a bit of a spat in the audience. Tank reigned victorious in the anticipated bout, but ahead of the fight, footage of an altercation involving Wallo, Meek Mill, Gary Russell Jr., and Stephen Jackson made the rounds on social media. This week, Jackson also explains his participation, revealing that he was trying to protect his wife from people pushing in the crowd.

“Some clarity for y’all. A lot of people that wish they was in my shoes had alot to say. Full of hate,” the former NBA star wrote on Instagram.

Jackson also shared a video of the incident where he’s seen yelling at people to back away from his area. Things looked serious when he tucked in his chains. It seemed that the crowd was getting a little too close, and his wife was pushed.

“I hope this video makes u feel even worst than u already do. I protect me and mine,” he further added. “My wife is my priority. All that other sh*t for the birds. When u tell another grown man to watch his mouth a incident is going to happen. Give respect to get it. S/O @jefe @wallo267 @gilliedaking.”

Meanwhile, the verbal scuffle involving Meek reportedly stemmed from Davis’s rival, Gary Russell Jr. The latter was unsurprisingly betting against Tank, and after exchanging a few words, reports state a few shoves were given.

Wallo stepped in to calm the chaos and is also seen in videos doing his best to keep the peace. After the run-in with Russell Jr., Meek and his crew were said to have been escorted out of the arena.

Stephen Jackson Threatens to Slap Skip Bayless: ‘All Respect Gone’

2w578

Skip Bayless is in hot water with many in the sports community after an insensitive tweet following the collapse of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. In the aftermath, former NBA player and current sports analyst Stephen Jackson hit Twitter with a direct threat to Bayless.

“Ima slap the shit outta @RealSkipBayless u too bold,” Jackson wrote. “All respect gone.”

In a set of follow-up tweets, Jackson would provide additional commentary.

He wrote, “We talking about a life. I maybe sensitive from losing my lil bro and lil sis or I may just have a heart. Smdh.”

Jackson would close with: “Different strokes for diff folks. Might go over y’all heads. We know who gone defend him. No surprise here.”

After the on-field incident, Bayless tweeted that he agreed with the postponement decision but wondered why it was being made so close to the season’s finale.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how?” Skip tweeted. “This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.”

Skip Bayless’ Damar Hamlin Tweet Causes Reactions From Stephen Jackson & Kyle Kuzma

Last night, Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin suffered one of the worst injuries the sports world has ever seen.

During the first quarter of the Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday (December 2), Hamlin collapsed on the field after making a tackle.

The world was immediately sent into shock when the 24-year-old had to receive CPR for nearly 10 minutes following the incident. Reports indicate that he went into cardiac arrest.

Both Bengals and Bills players began surrounding Hamlin as this was going on. He subsequently left the stadium in an ambulance to take him to the University of Cincinnati Medial Center. He remains there, reportedly in critical condition.

As the world was awaiting an update on the 24-year-old’s status, Skip Bayless took to his Twitter account to share his thoughts on the league’s looming decision on the rest of the game. Evidently, everyone was seemingly in agreement that the game should be postponed.

“No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant,” the sports columnist writes in his controversial tweet.

Stephen Jackson subsequently took to his Instagram Stories to share his thoughts on the 71-year-old’s tweet. “You know what’s crazy? If it was Tom Brady, I guarantee you would’ve chose your words wisely. Somebody that’s been in journalism for over 40 years knows exactly what to say and how to say it,” says the former NBA player.

“We ain’t talking about an athlete that went into journalism, we talking about somebody that’s been in journalism their whole life. He never was an athlete. Not once was he an athlete. So journalism is his thing, just like basketball is my thing. He knows what he’s saying and when he’s saying it. He not getting no pass for this. But now everybody on his ass, now he wanna come with a lame ass apology. And don’t come on TV and say, ‘we can’t be insensitive to this situation.’ You wrote that tweet, nobody else,” he continues afterwards.

Additionally, Kyle Kuzma also has some choice words for the Undisputed co-host. “How come there is no repercussions for any of Skip Bayless’s insensitive things that he has said over the years?? Hmmmm….” says the Wizards Power Forward.

In 2020, Bayless publicly criticized Dak Prescott and implied that he was a bad leader for the Cowboys. This came after the Quarterback revealed that he had been dealing with depression due to the pandemic and his brother’s suicide. “I don’t have sympathy for him going public with, ‘I got depressed. I suffered depression early in Covid, to the point that I couldn’t even go work out.’ Look, he’s the Quarterback of America’s team,” he says in the clip.

Regardless, the 71-year-old has since apologized for his seemingly insensitive tweet. “Nothing is more important than that young man’s health. That was the point of my last tweet. I’m sorry if that was misunderstood but his health is all that matters. Again, everything else is irrelevant. I prayed for him & will continue to,” he clarifies.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Damar Hamlin and his family. Stay tuned to HNHH for any further updates.

Michael Jordan Once Forced Stephen Jackson To Take Off His Jordans

Michael Jordan has always been known for being extremely competitive in everything he does. When it comes to basketball, this is especially true. Overall, MJ is probably the most competitive player in NBA history as he would even create fake scenarios just for extra motivation.

As an NBA owner, Jordan hasn’t seen the same kind of success he saw as a player. Despite this, he still maintains that competitive spirit. Consequently, this has led to some intense moments with his players. In fact, Stephen Jackson had an interesting run-in with Jordan when he was on the Charlotte Bobcats. As you will see, it was the most MJ thing you’ll ever hear.

Michael Jordan Calls Out His Team

Jackson was a guest on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, where he recalled the hilarious story. The situation was quite simple. After a horrible game, Jordan came into the locker room and cussed out the team, before telling Jackson and Gerald Wallace to take off their Jordans. In MJ’s eyes, they weren’t worthy of his footwear.

“After the game, he’s just going off on us, like we need to get our s–t together, right? I made some little comment and said, ‘he ain’t saying that. He can’t even practice the next day,” Jackson explained. “[Then MJ rebutted,] ‘back on that s–t. You think y’all did something. […] Take my shoes off. That s–t was kind of directed to me and Gerald Wallace ‘coz we the leaders of the team. He was going off on us to the point that he gets on the second team in practice… and we lose!”

Jackson went on to note that Jordan was dominant during the practice, and he even ended things off with a dunk. Overall, this is quintessential Michael Jordan. Unfortunately, this mentality has yet to result in much success for his Hornets, who used to be the aforementioned Bobcats.

Let us know what you think of this story, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from the basketball world.
