Shyne Admits He Learned From Diddy Despite Believing He Was “The Devil”

Shyne has one of the most infamous careers in all of hip hop. He was pegged to be Bad Boy’s next big star after the death of Biggie in 1997. He was Diddy’s protege, until a fateful shooting in a nightclub led to his arrest. Shyne spent a decade in prison for assault, and many felt he took the fall for an incident that that was perpetrated by Diddy. The Bad Boy mogul’s reputation could not be worse at the moment, so Shyne took the opportunity to discuss his relationship with Diddy during a recent appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show.

Shyne admitted to having conflicted feelings about Diddy. He acknowledged the important lessons he learned while under Diddy’s wing in the late 90s. “I learned a lot, as far as being an entrepreneur,” the rapper explained. “As far as being a disrupter, a trailblazer. I got exactly what I went to the university of Bad Boy [for], with Diddy as professor, when it comes to entertainment.” Shyne also credited Diddy in terms of establishing a strong work ethic. The rapper-turned-politician has been able to translate said work ethic to his role as the leader of the Belize United Democratic Party.

Shyne Also Referred To Diddy As A “Creep”

There is, of course, the flip side of the coin. Shyne disparaged Diddy for failing to provide financial compensation, despite his willingness to take the fall for the mogul on a prison rap. “People say, ‘Oh Diddy gave me millions to go to jail,’” the rapper recounts. “Nothing. [He] probably made two, what I thought were offensive contributions over the last 20 years.” Shyne did not mince words when it came to Diddy’s character, either. He referred to the mogul as “the devil” after his ordeal in prison. “For years I was saying what a creep I thought he was,” the rapper explained. “How he destroyed my life, and at one point I thought he was the devil.”

Shyne credits his faith, and his second career as a politician in his native Belize, as the reasons why he was able to get out of this negative headspace. The rapper no longer harbors negative feelings for what Diddy did to him. Shyne’s timing could not be better. He is the star of the new documentary series The Honorable Shyne, which not only details his political career but his controversial past with Diddy. It will likely be another nail in the coffin of the mogul’s reputation.

Stephen A Smith Reveals If He’d Ever Consider Running For President

During his recent appearance on The View, Stephen A Smith discussed the results of the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election and made an interesting revelation about his own potential future in politics. The personality was asked whether or not he’d ever consider running for president, and while he admits he’s not exactly qualified, he said he might consider it under the right conditions.

“If you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it,” he explained. “But I would be independent because I don’t like either side and I’m not gonna be bought and paid for. I’m gonna do what’s in the best interest of the American people, whatever that may be.”

Stephen A Smith Claims He’d “Definitely” Consider Running For President If He Had A “Legitimate Shot To Win”

Smith may be open to considering running for president, but he also pointed out that he’s happy with his life the way it is, and truly has “no desire to be a Congressional figure.” As for his take on the results of the election, he couldn’t help but praise Donald Trump for pulling out a win despite the circumstances. “Donald Trump’s return to the White House is the greatest comeback probably in American history,” he said on his show yesterday. “Thirty-four felony counts, two impeachments — I can’t count the number of mistakes that he has made. When he departed in 2020 after the insurrection at the United States capital, we all thought he was finished, he was done.”

Earlier this year, Smith even expressed interest in debating Trump, insisting that he’d have it in the bag. “I would love to be in a presidential debate,” he told Howard Stern in January. “I’d eat him alive. I wouldn’t run for the presidency, but I’d debate Trump any day of the week. Any day of the week. Name the time and place and I’d show up.” What do you think of Stephen A Smith claiming he’d consider running for president of the United States? Do you think he should or not? Kevin Durant Slams “Clown” Stephen A Smith Amid Leadership Criticism

Kevin Durant slammed Stephen A. Smith during an interview with The Athletic published on Sunday night, labeling the ESPN pundit a “clown.” Smith has been critical of Durant over the years, but recent comments about his abilities as a leader have particularly irked the Suns star.

“Yeah, Stephen A., I don’t understand how people even listen to Stephen A.,” he told the outlet. “I’ve been in the league for 18 years, I’ve never seen Stephen A. at a practice, or a film session, or a shoot-around. Addressing the criticism of his leadership specifically, Durant added: “To say that I’m just sitting here, you paint this picture of me coming into the locker room, not talking to my teammates, quiet, not talking to my coaches,” Durant said. “Like, come on, man. It’s just ridiculous.” Former Suns assistant coach Kevin Young as well as the team’s current head coach, Mike Budenholzer, both defended Durant’s leadership to the outlet. “He set the tone for us as an organization, for us as a team. And it’s not just been by leadership. It’s been his voice,” Budenholzer said. “He’s put his arms around young players, he’s put his arm around veterans. He’s put his arm around me. It’s something that’s important to us. I don’t know if he likes it or knows it, but I’m going to keep pushing him to be his best, in all ways, including as a leader.”

The interview comes as the Suns improved to 5-1 with a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. Durant posted 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists in that game. The team’s next contest will be against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kevin Durant and Stephen A. Smith on HotNewHipHop.

Snoop Dogg Calls Out The ‘Lack Of Originality’ In Today’s Rap, Dr. Dre Turning His Jaded Attention Toward Producers

With newly set tour records by Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday 2 World Tour) and Drake (It’s All A Blur Tour) and music chart dominance by Kendrick Lamar, you could easily say rap is in a great place. However, not everyone feels this way.

Yesterday (October 18), Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre dropped by Stephen A. Smith’s show to voice their opinions on the current statement of hip-hop and more. When asked to give aspiring artists advice, Snoop Dogg called out current active rappers for their lack of originality.

“Be original,” he said. “Right now there’s so much copycatting, mimicking, sounding alike, and imitation. Find your production, your sound, find your ear for who you are, and be original even if it ain’t hitting. Stay you.”

Dr. Dre shared his own hot take about today’s rap scene focusing his attention on producers. “Find your collaborators,” he added. “I don’t like the fact that there are nine different producers on one album. I like the idea of one producer on an album. Continuity is everything.”

Stephen chimed in to inquire about the trend’s origins, but Dr. Dre hilariously wasn’t interested in tracing its roots, saying: “I don’t know. But I don’t like it.”

Stephen A Smith Gets Dragged For His Outrageous Theory About Diddy Trial

While he’s mostly known for his sports commentary, Stephen A Smith just ruffled a lot of feathers with his thoughts on the Diddy trial. Specifically, Smith addressed the court’s use of evidence and the court of public opinion. “Of course, his mother Janice Combs showed up, walking into the federal courthouse as well,” he remarked on his self-titled show. “So his family’s there in full support of him. I was just taken aback by them making noise about the [Cassie] video being leaked. ‘Cause I was like, ‘How the hell is that gon’ help them?’ But in the end, when you really think about it, it does kind of help him in the court of public opinion.

“‘Cause whenever a Black man is being prosecuted,” Stephen A. Smith continued concerning Diddy. “And we think that the government has done something salacious or unethical in their pursuit of him, we gon’ side with him. At least, to a degree in terms of pointing out the kind of links they will go through to take him down. We’re also hearing that they’re coming with additional charges down the pipe, this is just the start, it ain’t the finish line. But by doing this, their belief is that that’s going to help them in the court of public opinion. I don’t know if they’re wrong, they might be right about that.” Check out the comments section of the Instagram post below to see people’s critical reactions

“But they especially win if they get that tape removed and it’s not allowed to be seen by the 12 jurors that’s going to be assigned to decide whether or not he’s going to jail for 20, 25 years, to 40 years, the rest of his life, or whether he’s going to be made to be a free man,” Stephen A. Smith said about Diddy. “He still ain’t been let out on bail. If I remember correctly, a judge was removed from the case, and a different judge came about. Still ain’t removed from jail. They still haven’t granted him bail.

“But this revealing of the tape and the accusations that it was leaked by the government to assist the prosecution – well, they are the prosecution, the government,” Stephen A. Smith concluded his thoughts on the Diddy situation. “It does make sense, it might not be that bad of a strategy. And if you can get that tape removed… Hmm. They don’t have to see what he did to his ex-girl. Hmm… It’s interesting. I’m just saying, I’m just saying.”

Method Man Says Snoop Dogg Should Be The “Ambassador” Of Music

Method Man shared an immense amount of praise for Snoop Dogg during an appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, earlier this week. Speaking with Smith, the legendary rapper explained that Snoop has become bigger than just an artist and described him as a “franchise.”

“Snoop has transcended rapper. He has transcended artist,” he said. “Snoop is a franchise now. He should just be an ambassador for our music, period. Or hold classes on how to broaden your horizons, how to master different trades how to market yourself. Because Snoop is doing incredible things and we’re looking at more than 30 years, Stephen. 30 years and he doesn’t even have to drop music and that’s the beauty of it!”

It’s far from the first time Method Man has shared his love for Snoop Dogg. During an interview with Drink Champs, last month, he remarked that Snoop is his dream collaboration, despite already working with the Death Row Records owner. “I already did something with these guys but I’m gonna use it again: Snoop and Dre,” he said on the show. “Every time I work with Dre, I feel like I need a do-over. The first time I was in the studio with him physically there, that chronic [hits] different. I spit a verse but it wasn’t up to par for me, so Dre was gracious enough not to put it out. The second shot I got is for the Dre and Snoop joint coming up. Woo! He got a lot of fire sh*t on there, man.”

Uncle Luke Claims Diddy Was “Consumed” By Drugs

The Diddy scandal is so massive that celebrities are checking each other’s commentary on the matter, which causes its own set of debates. A recent example of this back-and-forth discussion came thanks to The Stephen A. Smith Show, where the sports commentator invited Uncle Luke to speak virtually for his latest episode. They discussed whether or not Suge Knight is accurate in his assessments of Sean Combs given how long he’s been in jail and the historic rift between them. During his evaluation of Suge’s perspective, Luke made a heavy claim about the Bad Boy mogul based on alleged information from his close circle.

“Let me tell you like this,” Uncle Luke’s remarks began about Diddy and Suge Knight. “[Suge is] still connected to the outside world. You know, in some shape, form, or fashion. You know, [there are] guys [that aren’t] supposed to have their telephones in jail, but they do have their telephone in jail. But then they get their one or two, you know, calls, and they get it done. So, those guys are still connected.

Uncle Luke Speaks On Diddy & Suge Knight On The Stephen A. Smith Show

“But I listened to the interview just like you did,” Uncle Luke went on. “And I listened to certain things. When he’s talking about drugs and the industry drugging Diddy. Again, a lot of my friends who know him real closely, you know, they say that he got consumed with the drugs. And so, when you hear certain things like that from a guy that’s incarcerated, that means that he’s really, really in touch to the situation. You feel me? And so, at the end of the day, you know, and a lot of other things that Suge said… I mean, the industry don’t change.

“If you don’t control the industry, the industry will control you,” Uncle Luke concluded about the Diddy situation. “If you don’t humble yourself, if you let it go to your head, then it will get you. It will eat you up. It will consume you. When you think you’re too big when you can go and file a lawsuit against Diageo, the largest liquor brand. Exactly! When you feel like you can go after these types of conglomerates, something got to your head! Something really got to your head. Drugs or something or the liquor. Something really got to your head when you think you that big where you can take on that giant.”

Stephen A Smith Wants More Money Than Dak Prescott With His Next ESPN Contract

Stephen A Smith says that he deserves to be paid over $100 million by ESPN for his next contract and cited Dak Prescott’s deal with the Dallas Cowboys as evidence of his market value. While speaking with Chris Wallace for the latest episode of his Max series, Smith discussed his future with the company as he’s on the last year of his current deal.

“I’m not getting specific as it pertains to numbers, because only a fool discusses his own negotiations while negotiating,” Smith began. “So I’m not going to go that far. What I would say to you is, I would ask, respectfully, pay attention to the industry. See what people are getting paid. See how much money they’re making and what they’re bringing to the table. Look at look at their ratings, look at their revenue that they’re generating, and look at mine. And so we all want what the market bears. Dak Prescott just signed a contract for $240 million he’s making 60 million a year.”

When Wallace noted that Prescott is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Smith retorted: “Who has won two playoff games in eight years, I’ve been number one for 12. I’m sorry, in our respective industries, I win and I’m fully aware of what I’m worth, and I will never apologize to that for anybody.” Prescott inked his massive four-year, $240 million extension back in September, just before the regular season started. The deal made him the highest-paid player in the league on a per-year basis.
