Chris Paul has spoken on his beef with veteran NBA ref Scott Foster after Foster ejected Paul from the Warriors’ Wednesday night game with the Suns. “It’s personal. We had a situation some years ago and it’s personal. The league knows. Everybody knows. There was a meeting and all of that. I’m OK with a ref saying whatever they’re saying, but don’t use a tech to get your point across,” Paul said in a post-game interview. Paul’s comments referred to an alleged incident between Foster and Paul’s son while Paul was a Clipper. Furthermore, Paul’s last four teams before the Warriors lost 13 consecutive playoff games where Foster was the crew chief.
Paul was tossed from Warriors-Suns after earning two technical fouls in less than a minute. After protesting a foul against him, Paul was seen chirping at Foster as Kevin Durant lined up to take the resulting free throws. Paul left the game with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Furthermore, Steve Kerr also picked up a technical for yelling at Foster after Paul was ejected. “I didn’t think Chris deserved to be ejected. The first tech, absolutely. But I thought the second one was unnecessary. Everybody gets frustrated out there,” Kerr said after the game.

It’s no secret that technical fouls and ejections are up this season, with Paul becoming just the latest victim of the trend. The post came just a few days after Boosie became heated at the refs during a Hawks game he was in attendance for. Boosie filmed himself yelling at the refs from the stands and later went live to further vent his frustrations. “I gotta make this announcement. We got cheated by the referees tonight. I’m so disappointed by the refs tonight. Only person that called a good game was the tall guy with the bald head … Referees called a bad game.” Boosie lamented. The game in question was a 117-109 Atlanta loss to Miami.
Dwight Howard is someone who has been having some issues as of late. Overall, a lot of this stems from the fact that he was accused of sexual assault. He is currently in a lawsuit over these claims, and many are confused as to what really went down. However, Howard has maintained his innocence and claims he did nothing wrong. Moreover, he was recently rejected from the Golden State Warriors, which was a blow to his chances of an NBA comeback.
Having said all of that, Howard has been looking to engage with his audience on social media. His live streams on Instagram and on TikTok have been interesting, to say the least. Sometimes, he will go on weird tangents, and no one knows where he is trying to lead people. In his latest TikTok Live, that is exactly what he did. This time around, however, he was trying to talk about Satan and the temptation that Satan tries to dangle in front of people. You can see his rant, below.

Gregg Popovich actively defended his former star Kawhi Leonard when Spurs fans booed the Clipper during a free throw attempt. Popovich addressed the crowd via a microphone on the scorer’s table towards the end of the second quarter. “Excuse me for a second. Can we stop all the booing and let these guys play? Have a little class. That’s not who we are. Knock off the booing,” the veteran coach said to the crowd. After the game, Popovich explained his actions as not wanting to “poke the bear”. “I think anybody that knows anything about sports — you don’t poke the bear,” Popovich said.
However, the boos only increased after Popovich’s address. Despite this, Leonard put up a game-high 26 points, 18 of which came after Popovich’s comments. Leonard has long been booed due to his less-than-amicable exit from San Antonio in 2018. “If I don’t have a Spurs jersey on, they’re probably going to boo me the rest of my career. But I mean it is what it is. Like I said, they’re one of the best fans in the league and they’re very competitive. Once I step out on this basketball court out here, they show that they’re going for the other side. When I’m on the streets or going into restaurants, they show love. So it is what it is,” Leonard said after the game.
The 109-102 result over the Spurs, in which Victor Wembanyama put up a 22-point double-double, was the Clippers’ third consecutive win. That streak snapped a dismal 0-6 run that began James Harden’s tenure in LA. Granted, all three wins have come against lottery teams in the Rockets and Spurs. However, it’s a much-needed bounce-back that has the Clippers one game under .500 and two games back in their division.
Despite this, the real test looms for the Clippers. They end November with games against New Orleans, Dallas, Denver, Sacramento, and Golden State. That’s a mix of strong playoff contenders and seasoned rosters. As mentioned, it will be the first major test of whether the Clippers’ new-look roster has finally found its footing. Things do look promising. Despite his “I am a system” comments, Harden has settled into a facilitator role similar to the one he held in Philly. He currently leads the Clippers in assists, while Paul George and Leonard remain the primary scoring options.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor. The allegations first emerged on social media, with users appearing to post evidence of Giddey interacting with a reportedly then-17-year-old Olivia Cook. One of the widely-cited pieces of alleged evidence was a Snapchat post showing Giddey and Cook in a post-coital state of undress with the in-picture text caption “Just f-cked Josh Giddey”. Furthermore, social media users later uncovered more posts that appeared to corroborate the story, as well as Cooks’ TikTok account, which appeared to confirm that she was not 18.
However, the allegations are largely unverified and stem primarily from second-hand reporting of social media posts. Neither Giddey nor Cook have released a statement at this time. Giddey, a first-round pick in 2021 and widely considered the future of Australian basketball, played against the Bulls in a game on Wednesday night. He had 10 points and 6 rebounds in the Thunder win. This is a developing story and we will have any updates as and when they emerge.

Born in 2002, Giddey joined the NBA in 2021. He forwent the US college system, instead playing a season of professional basketball in his native Australia before declaring for the draft. He had a strong rookie season, putting up 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists as part of the Thunder’s young core. His sophomore season only saw Giddey improve. In the 2022-23 season, Giddey put up 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists as the Thunder made the playoffs for the first time since the COVID Bubble.
Meanwhile, Giddey’s star was also rising on the international scene. After playing at the junior level, Giddey made his debut for Australia’s senior national team in 2020. However, he fell just short of making the roster for the 2020 Olympics, where Australia would win a bronze medal. Despite this, Giddey would make the roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, putting up 19.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists a game. Australia would finish 10th but still secured an Olympic berth.

Recently, Cam decided to go after Skip Bayless while OJ Simpson was on the show. Essentially, Cam takes issue with the fact that Bayless seemingly “uses” black people to make himself appear cooler. For instance, he referenced the fact that Lil Wayne, Yella Beezy, and Bubba Dub have all been on the show. Cam feels like Skip is trying too hard and that if there is a show they should go on, it would be It Is What It Is.

UConn has announced that junior Azzi Fudd will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. According to the school, Fudd suffered a non-contact injury during practice last week. She watched the #6 Huskies beat Maryland and Minnesota from the bench before the extent of her injury was announced. Fudd, the #1 recruit of the 2021 class, has been plagued with injuries across her first three years of college ball.
“We’re all just so upset for Azzi. She worked hard to be healthy for this season, and it’s unfortunate when you put in a lot of hard work and have a setback like this. Azzi loves the game and works tirelessly. I’m confident she’ll rehab with the same work ethic and come back better than ever. We’ll obviously miss her presence on the court, but Azzi will continue to be a great teammate and important part of this team this season. Our program will support Azzi through her recovery however we can,” head coach Geno Auriemma said in a statement.
Despite the injury, it’s business as usual in Storrs. “We’ve always handled [injuries] really, really, really well. We’ve always been pretty resilient. For us to win 31 games last year, given what we went through, they respond, they don’t pout. They really don’t. So when I said, ‘Hey, we’re just going to have to figure this one out,’ it changes your rotation obviously, it changes maybe the way you want to play. It certainly changes your offense,” Auriemma told reporters last week.
The Huskies are 3-1, having suffered a shocking loss to then-unranked NC State in their second game of the season. However, things don’t get any easier for UConn going forward. The Huskies are in the Cayman Islands for a Feast Week tournament. There, they will have to face #2 UCLA and defending WNIT champions Kansas. UConn will be the first major test for the Bruins, who are 4-0 behind wins against Purdue, UC Riverside, Bellarmine, and Princeton.
Former Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard was seen helping distribute Thanksgiving packages at an Indianapolis church just hours after he was shockingly cut by the team. Leonard was seen passing out turkeys and trays of pre-prepared sides to over 200 families who attended the event. Furthermore, Leonard was more than happy to take photos with fans as well as sign autographs. Additionally, he told an ESPN reporter who later arrived at the even that he had “no hard feelings” towards the Colts.
Leonard, who was battling his way back from injury, was cut after six years of service. By his own admission, he believed that complaining about his lack of playing time likely contributed to the decision to cut him. However, the decision still sent shockwaves around the league. Furthermore, since he was cut after the trade deadline, he will have to wait to clear waivers before he can sign with another team.
However, Leonard isn’t the only person linked to the Colts who is making headlines. Owner Jim Irsay has gone viral for bold comments he made during a recent interview with HBO. Irsay claimed that his 2014 arrest for driving under the influence was the result of prejudice. “I am prejudiced against because I’m a rich, white billionaire. If I’m just the average guy down the block, they’re not pulling me in, of course not. I don’t care what it sounds like. It’s the truth. I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. The truth is the truth, and I know the truth,” Irsay said. Furthermore, Irsay claimed his inability to pass a sobriety test was due to a recent hip surgery, not intoxication. However, Irsay would later plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge.
Irsay, who took over as owner of the Colts from his father in 1995, was arrested in an Indianapolis suburb in March 2014. A subsequent toxicology report found oxycodone, hydrocodone, and alprazolam in Irsay’s system. While Isray claimed that they were prescriptions for post-surgery recovery, he has also been open about his battles with addiction in the past.
Victor Wembanyama’s jersey from his NBA debut has sold for $762K, nearly eight times the estimated price. The auction, handled by Sotheby’s, opened last week and closed yesterday with an anonymous bidder coming away with the one-of-a-kind item. Of course, the price tag is nowhere close to the record set by Michael Jordan’s 1998 Finals jersey ($10.091M). However, it’s an amazing price for the jersey of a player less than 20 games into his NBA career. Furthermore, it did set a new record for the sale of an NBA rookie debut jersey. The all-time record for a full rookie uniform was set in 2021 with the sale of Kobe’s rookie kit.
A major contributing factor to the auction, which reportedly drew 62 bids alone, is how Wembanyama has gone from strength to strength over the course of his young career. Of course, Wembanyama is no ordinary rookie. The Frenchman has been professionally in the well-regarded French league since 2019. While many European players come to the NBA with prior professional experience, few have that experience at the same level or hype as Wembanyama. By comparison, two-time MVP Nikola, who played three years in Serbia before the NBA, was a mid-second-round pick in 2014.
Through 14 games, Wembanyama is averaging an incredibly solid stat line – 18.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.6 blocks. Is he going to win MVP as a rookie? No. However, he is already making his present felt as a versatile and unpredictable player that opposing teams are still trying to solve. However, the next step will be for the Spurs to build a team around Wembanyama. After a surprisingly competitive start, the Spurs are 3-11 and have lost their last nine games in a row. The Spurs simply don’t have the pieces to be a competitive team.
Despite this, the expectations are still sky-high for the rookie. Every time he has a bad performance, it’s dissected and then the blame is immediately placed on Wembanyama’s shoulders. “After righting the ship for two games, Wembanyama suffered a massive regression in the loss. Even though the Spurs were outplayed across the board, Wembanyama’s season-low three-rebound total was notable. The Spurs have now lost nine straight games, and they need their rookie to pay off the investment with more consistency,” ESPN wrote of Wembanyama’s performance against the Clippers in their fantasy basketball section.
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has announced his intention to attend the 120th Palmetto Bowl between South Carolina and Clemson this weekend. Despite the reports confirming the visit, it’s unclear why Trump chose the game in particular. However, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said he was looking forward to welcoming the former president to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.
Clemson twice visited the White House during the Trump presidency to celebrate their 2016 and 2018 national championships. However, the visit in January 2019 became something of a spectacle after Trump proudly served mountains of fast food to the visiting players. Of course, this was not the only time he did this during his presidency. Despite this, people have questioned why Trump is avoiding the much higher stakes (and much more lucrative voters) of “The Game” between Ohio State and Michigan. Both teams are 11-0 and vying for a place in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Two very different energies will be meet in Columbia this weekend. At 7-5, the #25 Tigers are already bowl eligible. Furthermore, with no shot at the SEC title game, they are looking to finish the regular season on eight wins and a win over their rivals. However, the stakes are much higher for the unranked Gamecocks. At 5-6, South Carolina needs to beat Clemson to be bowl-eligible next month. But the stakes for the Gamecocks go much deeper than this. A win over the Tigers would mark South Carolina’s first back-to-back wins over Clemson since 2013.
As for Trump, he will be hoping for a much more welcoming atmosphere at his second college of the year. In the early weeks of the season, Trump visited Iowa for the clash between Iowa and Iowa State. However, Trump found himself the target of boos and middle fingers as he entered Jack Trice Stadium. Earlier this month, Trump was seen attending a UFC event in New York. However, keen-eyed viewers spotted Bill Burr’s wife giving Trump the finger as he walked past their seats.
LAS VEGAS – Dutch DJ/producer Martin Garrix chose not to wear his Whoop over the last 24 hours. The wrist device, which monitors daily exertion and recovery, wouldn’t have given him data he wanted to see in the lead-up to the inaugural Formula One Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix. Garrix flew in on Friday, played a late-night show at Omnia on Friday night, did an extended set at the Marquee Dayclub on Saturday afternoon, rushed through some other obligations, and got to the Paddock in time to see his long-time friend Max Verstappen win a thrilling race on the Vegas Strip. To cap it all off, he performed the closing ceremony at the track, then celebrated with Max back at Omnia into the early morning.
There’s not much time for recovery over a typical F1 weekend. Add the craziness of Vegas, and the decision to not want to track that behavior entirely starts to make a bit more sense.
The prevailing story being written about race weekend — the first in a 10-year agreement between F1 and the city — was about how much of a disaster it would be. Take your pick of national (and international) outlets, and you could have your fill of anthropological observations from the ground about road closures and taped-over views on walking bridges and empty restaurants and oh-so-many quotes from grumpy Uber drivers. Each of these pieces would’ve had you believe the Strip was impossible to navigate and people were miserable. Couple that with some incendiary quotes from Verstappen himself — and a damage-inducing drain cover that shut down Thursday’s practice — and those headlines finding every way to mention “gamble,” “bust,” “big bet,” “jackpot,” or any other betting term imaginable seemed to suggest this thing would be lucky to happen at all.
In response, Vegas did what it always does: put on a show. The race was exciting, including a last-lap maneuver from Charles Leclerc that left the crowd stunned and gave him a second place podium finish. Verstappen even changed his tune a bit, singing “Viva Las Vegas” and clearly enjoying himself in the champagne spray. Fans and workers alike walked away with smiles, whether they were in the grandstands, the Paddock Club, or any number of well-executed brand setups from the Red Bull Energy Station to the Heineken House (where Anderson .paak brought his DJ Pee .Wee persona to an intimate dance floor along with an open bar, food, and views of Turn 4).
Vegas being Vegas, the race had DJs, just oh-so-much wealth, plenty of gambling-themed photo opportunities, Elvises, a wedding chapel in the Paddock, Shaq (because, obviously, Shaq had to be there), celebrity chefs, exotic cars, brands, brands, and more brands, and even Rihanna.
Garrix wasn’t surprised. As someone who has had a residency in Vegas for a decade and who travels the world — he frequently pops up at F1 races — he had a perspective few others shared. He watched the construction almost weekly, and still can’t believe the staff pulled it off in just under a year. But he stressed that this is only the beginning. Vegas has a tendency to make a big plan and merely fill in the details later. With proof of concept and time to iron out wrinkles ahead of next year, the race can evolve to match the skill Verstappen desperately craves, while continuing to add the flair that only the Strip can provide. It won’t always be smooth, it won’t always make sense, and it’ll always induce an eye-roll or two to those who haven’t offered themselves over to the kitsch and absurdity of Sin City. But it won’t be boring. And the Sphere will keep watch over us all.
The Platinum-selling artist went long from a hotel suite at the Cosmopolitan on the race, his friendship with Verstappen, his love for F1, and what makes Vegas so special.
Martin Rickman: What’s your relationship like with F1?
Martin Garrix: I love F1. I love the sport. I love the adrenaline. I love just the races, and the excitement. I’ve been very lucky to be part of a lot of races around the world together with Heineken and it’s cool. I’ve known Max since, I think I was 18 and he was 16 when we met. So it’s been very cool to see him rise to the phenomenon he’s now, but also I’m close to some of the other drivers and it’s cool because we’re doing something completely opposite. They’re very healthy. There are sportsmen, and I party and am up late at night, not on a regular schedule. So it’s cool to find a balance in the middle where we can meet and there’s actually a lot of points that we can relate on, which is nice.
Your lifestyle and what you’re asked to do, it does put a lot of strain on your body and your mind — traveling at different times, meeting different people, kind of having to stay on at all times. Drivers have a similar experience in different ways. Obviously, their physical is in the car, your physical is performing. Do you find that you guys relate to each other?
Yeah, I definitely think there’s a lot of things in common. Also, depending on the team, it’s teamwork. It’s a lot of pressure because in the end, it comes up on our performance. There are a lot of people doing everything they can in advance, etc. But in the moment itself, it’s you got to do well or you f*ck up. But F1 is a top sport. They’re in an amazing shape. They’re very, very aware of sleep, alcohol, everything, which is cool. It inspires me to live more healthily and it is amazing. We get to travel the world together. I’m not doing every race, but together with Heineken I’m doing Vegas, I did Mexico recently. I’m going to do China. I’m not sure if it’s announced yet. Canada was f*cking sick.
So there’s a lot of cool things. And it’s nice because I’m close to Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, and Max, and we’re all at races for a completely different reason. They’re there to f*cking race. I’m there to entertain the audience after the race, but it’s nice to see friends all over the world. We get to travel together and there’s a lot of connecting points where we can actually, after they did their thing, after I did my thing, we can decompress together, which is nice.
What’s the most surprising thing about those three guys that maybe people don’t know about them?
I think it’s how dedicated they are to the sport. Some people they see, oh, drivers, they show up to the race, they race. Max every time I’m with him in his free time, he’s racing on the sim. It’s the craziest thing. All he does with F1 is racing, traveling, racing. You would expect him to be home and to relax, to decompress. But he’s still racing. He’s practicing the new circuits. He’s on the sim. Same thing for Lando, same thing for Daniel, and I can relate to it with music as well. Once you have a passion for something, it doesn’t feel like work and you want to get better. You want to bring your A-game. So it’s cool to see that because what I do is completely different, but there’s some similarities in a way.
Yeah, passion is universal.
And they’re passionate as f*ck. It’s amazing.
You talked about being inspired to do more things for yourself, to kind of keep yourself right, physically, and mentally. What are some of the things that you’re trying out that you’re learning?
I think the most important thing is to have routines. Find out your routine, find stuff you like. I love playing padel [tennis]. I love windsurfing. I picked up going to the gym again. So I think it’s a few things that, and also if you start your day with a workout for the rest of the day, you’re way more productive. You feel more good about everything. And there was a few years that I missed that mindset. It happens. But no, I feel really good. I’m excited about everything. I’ll work out and for the rest of the day, I’m like this, I want to do this, this, this. I’ll be more productive in the studio, which is good.
Do you know the first race you ever went to or when that was?
I think it was Singapore, the one with Dua Lipa, yeah, in 2018. And I was playing the after-show performance. The marina and looking out on it after the stage. It was cool. And just for me too, because you watch the races on TV, to be there in person, you hear the sound of the cars. It’s like the adrenaline, there’s nothing comparing to it. It’s raw. It’s f*cking hits you.
What are you working on now that has you really excited?
Everything. I’m working on a lot of music, like crazy amounts. I’m doing a score for a TV show. I started on it last year, but then the writers’ strike happened, so everything got delayed, but now it picked up again. So that’s exciting. There’s a lot of cool Garrix stuff coming. I’m working on some stuff for other artists writing-wise. There’s a lot of stuff in the works. I’m very excited. I think I finished a follow-up for my last single, I think I finished it two days ago. But it’s nice. It’s a good feeling once you’re in the studio and you make something and you’re confident enough effort towards to be like, oh, this might be the follow-up.
You’re really familiar with Vegas, and obviously a lot of people are coming into Vegas for the first time, or they’re F1 fans who aren’t as familiar with it. What is it about Las Vegas that makes this a good destination for F1?
I think Vegas is the city of entertainment. F1, besides being a sport, has a crazy amount of entertainment as well around the race. And I think people maybe this weekend in particular have wanted F1 to fail in the city because of the preparations, because of everything. But I do think Vegas, if you look at Monaco, the race has been there for f*cking god knows how long, and you build, you grow. This race has the potential to become one of the biggest races. It would be cool if they could make some adjustments to the tracks or make it a little bit more challenging. But listen, you see some shots of the f*cking track even in qualifying, and it looked insane.
It looked like a video game. Every single shot, you’re just like, how the f*ck is this real? And I do think a lot of people around the world, they see it. They’re like, oh my god, this looks crazy. But once you’re here, once you’re actually next to the circuit, it’s just, it is wild. So I’m excited to see how Vegas will grow, how Vegas will get better, but I can’t believe the amount of work they did in the last year. I’ve been to Vegas every other weekend, so I saw the progress of them trying to fix the asphalt, building the f*cking paddock. It’s actually ridiculous how much work they got done in a year. Some people are a little bit … maybe mean is not the right word, but they’re very judgmental towards everyone. I think what they did here is monumental, and I think this could become one of the biggest races in F1.
You said you’ve known Max since he was 16. How has he changed in the time since then?
Well, the funnest thing about Max is he has not changed one single bit. Same person. He’s just obsessed with racing. Even in his free time, whenever, if I’m touring and I get home, the last thing I want to do is DJ. My brain needs a little break, and I need to decompress. Max won in the Netherlands, and I flew with him to Monaco after the race, and we were on the plane, laughing, etc. Having a good time. I was like, ‘Hey man, let’s have some drinks’ He’s like, “No, man, I’m going to go Sim race.’ I’m like, “Bro, you’ve just f*cking won. You just won the race, you lunatic!” But he is inspiring. He’s so passionate about racing. And it’s a mindset, and especially for racers much like artists, you’re by yourself, you’re solo. But I feel like racers, they’re so strict on themselves. There was one time he came in second, this was I think eight years ago, and I was like, “Hey, congrats man, congrats on the podium.” This was before he won every race. And he looks at me straight, dead serious. He’s like, “Congrats on what? I’m the first to lose.” I’m like, “What the f*ck?”
It’s crazy. That mindset. If I’m second with anything, I’m like, f*ck yeah, I’m stoked. Of course, you want to be number one, but to see it as a loss? But I think that’s what makes him, him. Same thing for Daniel, and same thing for Lando. It’s like f*cking tunnel vision, which is amazing.
