Recently, Arenas and the crew discussed the technical that Warriors guard Chris Paul received on Friday night. After the game Paul stated to the media he received the technical from official Tony Brothers due to Paul calling him a TikToker. Which ultimately sounds like the strangest way to receive a technical.

Arenas had a little fun with Paul’s comments stating, “You on TikTok, TikTokin’, then you get mad I call you a TikToker?” After Paul spoke to the media on Saturday, he posted a Tik Tok video of Tony Brothers on his Instagram page. So, it does seem that Paul believes Brothers is worried about his Tik Tok fame. As well as Brothers may be offended by being a Tik Tok Star in the eyes of Paul. Gilbert Arenas Pokes Fun At Strange Situation Involving CP3

To make matters worse, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Golden State Warriors in Friday’s matchup 123-111. The Warriors are starting to hit desperation mode as they hang on to the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. However, the Houston Rockets trail the Warriors just one spot for the coveted prize.

Chris Paul has claimed that Daryl Morey promised not to trade him to OKC in 2019. “Daryl call me. He said ‘I was just calling you to make sure you didn’t wanna go to OKC.’ I was like, ‘No, why I don’ moved 15 people to Houston.’ And he was like, ‘Okay I was just making sure. I would never trade you to somewhere you didn’t want to go.’ I’m at the house chilling and next thing you know [the alert] said that I was getting traded [to OKC]. And then my phone started ringing and it was Daryl. Daryl was like, ‘Hey man, it just moves so fast.’ I said, ‘It’s all good I just want you to tell me one thing. You said you wasn’t going to trade me, right?’ He said, ‘Yeah I said that but–’ I said, ‘That’s all I needed to know.’”

Paul was sent to the Thunder along with picks in exchange for picks and Russell Westbrook. 18 months later, in November 2020, Paul was on the move again. This time he was the core piece in a massive player trade that sent him to Phoenix. Of course, Paul now finds himself in the Bay Area after Phoenix traded him to Washington, who then traded him to Golden State.

Chris Paul Fractures Hand, Out 4-6 Weeks

Chris Paul will miss 4-6 weeks as he will require surgery to repair a fracture in his left hand. It will be the sixth surgery on his left hand, and his 12th hand surgery overall. The recovery timeline means that the Warriors will be without the 19-season veteran until after the All-Star break. Paul is averaging 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists a game. The Warriors acquired Paul from the Wizards after Washington briefly acquired him from Phoenix.

With Paul sidelined, rookie Brandin Podziemski is expected to play a bigger role in the Warriors’ rotation. The Warriors took Podziemski 19th overall in the 2023 draft after the guard played two seasons of college ball, one at Illinois and one at Santa Clara. Podziemski is averaging 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists a game. Now he will get a bigger chance to prove himself part of the Warriors’ young revolution.

Draymond Green Returns As Chris Paul Ruled Out

However, Paul’s sidelining comes as the Warriors begin ramping Draymond Green up to being court-ready. Green has been reinstated from his indefinite suspension, having missed 12 games after striking Jusuf Nurkić in the head. Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Warriors expect Green to need about a week to get back up to playing strength. With that timeline in mind, Green might return to the court for Golden State’s game in Memphis on January 15. The Warriors have four more games between then and now, meaning they will have to hold on a little longer without Green. After Green’s build-up week, the Warriors are next at home on January 19.

The news comes a day after Wojnarowski reported that Green was returning to the Warriors’ facility. The Warriors have gone 7-5 without Green and currently sit in 11th place in the Western Conference. However, Green will likely return on thin ice with the league. With two suspensions under his belt this season, the league will likely come down even harder if anything else happens this season. The Warriors host Toronto on Sunday.

Chris Paul Ejection Deepens Beef With Veteran Ref

Chris Paul has spoken on his beef with veteran NBA ref Scott Foster after Foster ejected Paul from the Warriors’ Wednesday night game with the Suns. “It’s personal. We had a situation some years ago and it’s personal. The league knows. Everybody knows. There was a meeting and all of that. I’m OK with a ref saying whatever they’re saying, but don’t use a tech to get your point across,” Paul said in a post-game interview. Paul’s comments referred to an alleged incident between Foster and Paul’s son while Paul was a Clipper. Furthermore, Paul’s last four teams before the Warriors lost 13 consecutive playoff games where Foster was the crew chief.

Paul was tossed from Warriors-Suns after earning two technical fouls in less than a minute. After protesting a foul against him, Paul was seen chirping at Foster as Kevin Durant lined up to take the resulting free throws. Paul left the game with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Furthermore, Steve Kerr also picked up a technical for yelling at Foster after Paul was ejected. “I didn’t think Chris deserved to be ejected. The first tech, absolutely. But I thought the second one was unnecessary. Everybody gets frustrated out there,” Kerr said after the game.

The post came just a few days after Boosie became heated at the refs during a Hawks game he was in attendance for. Boosie filmed himself yelling at the refs from the stands and later went live to further vent his frustrations. “I gotta make this announcement. We got cheated by the referees tonight. I’m so disappointed by the refs tonight. Only person that called a good game was the tall guy with the bald head … Referees called a bad game.” Boosie lamented. Austin Reaves Didn’t Believe Chris Paul Trade Was Real

Chris Paul has been traded twice this offseason. First the veteran point guard moved from the Suns to the Wizards as Phoenix acquired Bradley Beal. But before Paul could even think about the nightmare of DC-area real estate, he was flipped to the Warriors in exchange for Jordan Poole. Paul will now play alongside the vaunted Big Three of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. The move only adds to the rapidly-aging title contender that the Warriors are hoping to capitalize on.

It was a shocking series of events that truly marked the start of a bizarre offseason. Of course, it is also one of the few blockbuster trades to have actually happened. Damian Lillard and James Harden both remain in limbo as the Blazers and Sixers respectively continue to drag their feet on trading the franchise cornerstones. However, at least one player straight up didn’t believe the Paul trade was real. Austin Reaves revealed his skepticism in a recent interview.

Reaves Thought The Paul Trade Was A Fake Post

Speaking on the Full Send Podcast, Reaves admitted that he thought a parody account was making up the Paul trade. “That was random. One of the coaches… told me. I was like, you’re probably looking at the wrong… I think that’s ButtCrackSports, that always puts out false stuff,” Reaves said. Of course, Reaves faced Paul during his time in Phoenix. However, the young Laker likely thought his days of facing the veteran were done after he was sent to Washington. But now Paul is back in the Western Conference and Reaves’ problem once again.

Of course, it’s likely more preferable to Reaves that he’s reacting to potentially fake news, and not involved in it. Recently, Reaves had to officially deny rumors from a parody account that he was dating Taylor Swift. “I have never met her, never talked to her. All bullshit… I ain’t never talked to her… They said we were in a bar in Arkansas,” Reaves said when asked about the rumors during an appearance on the All The Smoke podcast.
