E-40 Showered With Love By The Warriors In New ESPN Profile

A profile highlighting the relationship between E-40 and the Golden State Warriors has shown just how much the team loves the rap legend. “Since I can remember, 40 was ‘Uncle Earl.’ I would go over to his house and hang with his kids Droop-E and Emari. I think both 40 and my father, being from the Bay and doing positive things for the city, turned their friendship into a brotherhood. To this day, they think of themselves as brothers,” Gary Payton II told ESPN. “I always gravitate to people who aren’t following the scene, but who are in the scene,” noted Andre Iguodala, who grew up listening to 40’s music in Chicago.

Furthermore, it’s not a one-sided love. 40 is a constant presence at Oracle Arena and has the number of basically every player on the team. “If you make yourself present and show people you’re successful at the games, people will show love. This is a dynasty, one of the greatest in many years. It all makes sense for me, to put myself in the presence of greatness and be elite,” 40 said.

However, 40’s fandom has not always gone unchecked. During the NBA playoffs last year, 40 was removed from a Warriors game against the Kings. According to 40, he was subjected to consistent heckling from a white fan but security only intervened when he responded. He claimed that the security at the Golden 1 Center viewed him as the instigator.

After threatening to boycott the rest of the series, 40 issued a joint statement with the Kings. “After a series of thoughtful and transparent conversations, both parties agree that there was a miscommunication regarding the circumstances that occurred during the Kings vs. Warriors game on Saturday night.” the statement began. 40’s addressing of the heckling behind him had been characterized as “excessive standing”. However, these claims were addressed as the statement continued. “Contrary to speculation, Mr. Earl “E-40″ Stevens did not stand excessively from his ticketed courtside seat. The outcome resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding between two parties.” This claim was undercut by ESPN sources claiming E-40 was not warned about his conduct prior to being removed.

Stephen A. Smith questioned why LeBron James killed a potential deal that would have sent him to the Warriors at the trade deadline. Smith confirmed that the story first reported by his fellow ESPN colleagues was true but asked what it said about LeBron. “How happy is LeBron with the Lakers management?” Smith asked. However, he went on to say, “LeBron James. If there is one person on Earth you should want to play with, it’s Steph Curry”.

Per the original ESPN report, the efforts of the Warriors to acquire LeBron didn’t get past an initial phone call. Warriors owner Joe Lacob reached out directly to his Lakers counterpart Jeannie Buss. The deal was struck down by Buss and Rich Paul. LeBron’s agent. However, the Warriors were not the only team reportedly interested in LeBron. Earlier in the run-up to the deadline, the Sixers Daryl Morey reached out to Lakers GM Rob Pelinka. Morey wanted to enquire about LeBron’s availability after seeing his cryptic hourglass tweet. That conversation was quickly ended when Pelinka asked Morey whether Joel Embiid was available.

LeBron James Coy About Plans For Next Season

Meanwhile, following the trade deadline, LeBron had a very simple answer when asked if he had thought about what he was going to do with his player option year for next season – “No.” The veteran star gave the blunt answer following a Lakers shootaround ahead of their marquee clash against the Knicks. LeBron has a $51.4 million player option for the 2024/25 with a late-July opt-in deadline. That opt-in deadline comes a few days after the NBA Draft. As a result, many pundits believe LeBron will wait to see if and where his son Bronny is drafted.

However, the speculation and trade shutdown haven’t stopped people from making their trade pitches regardless. Smith caused a stir after using a segment on First Take to pitch a deadline trade between his Knicks and the Lakers to acquire LeBron James. Warriors Assistant Coach Dies, Game Versus Utah Postponed

The NBA has postponed a game between the Warriors and Jazz following the death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic. Milojevic, 46, suffered a heart attack in Salt Lake City on January 16 during a private team dinner and passed away the following day. Milojevic had served on Steve Kerr’s staff since 2021 and was well-regarded both within the NBA and abroad. Furthermore, at least one team interviewed Milojevic about their head coaching vacancy following the 2022/23 season.

Prior to coming to the NBA, Milojevic established himself as a proven winner in Eastern Europe. Additionally, his time coaching Serbian side Mega meant that he was closely involved with the early development of Nikola Jokic. “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan Milojević’s sudden passing. Steve Kerr addressed the indefinite suspension of Draymond Green after the Warriors dropped their third consecutive game on Thursday night. “The one who choked Rudy, the one who took a wild flail at Jusuf, the one who punched Jordan last year — that’s the guy who needs to change. This is not just about an outburst on the court. It’s about his life. It’s about someone who I believe in, someone I have known for decades, who I love for his loyalty. There is a lot of this that has to happen with people who are experts in this field. My role in this is to support Draymond as best I can. We want to give him the space, time and assistance he needs to make a significant change. We’re not qualified to offer some of the things he needs,” Kerr said.

However, some believe that the Warriors are no longer in a position to help Green. Sources who spoke to ESPN this week said the Warriors had “lost their leverage” with Green after failing to adequately punish him for punching Jordan Poole last season. Stephen A. Smith said on First Take that “no one would blame” the Warriors if they sought to trade Green.

Because if I’m the Golden State Warriors, if they are looking to trade him and move on from him, who could blame them at this particular moment in time? Because I don’t know what future Draymond Green has with this team,” Smith said on Get Up! this morning.

Draymond Green was “suspended indefinitely” by the NBA after being ejected against the Suns earlier this week. Per the NBA’s statement on the decision, the suspension “takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.” Furthermore, “He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play,” the league added. Green received his 18th career ejection, and third of the season, for striking the Suns’ Jusuf Nurkić in the face with a spinning backhand early in the third quarter of Tuesday’s game. Prior to the season, Green’s disruptive tendencies were seen as a reason that the Warriors were somewhat hesitant to re-sign him.

50 Cent Defends Draymond Green

Meanwhile, 50 Cent has come out in defense of Green. “This fool is my favorite basketball player, WTF Is wrong wit him. that was a mistake, I will apologize for him. come on it’s a physical game,” Fif wrote on Instagram. However, while Green did apologize for the incident, the NBA has chosen to come down hard on the veteran. The Warriors will meet with Green and his agent, Rich Paul, to devise a rehabilitative program to help Green return to the court. Additionally, Green’s salary will be docked $153,941 per game that he misses. However, this increases to $202,922 per game after his 20th missed game.

Neither Green nor the Warriors have released a statement about the suspension. However, head coach Steve Kerr did criticize Green for his actions following the ejection. “We need him. We need Draymond. He knows that. We’ve talked to him. He’s got to find a way to keep his poise and be out there for his teammates,” Kerr said.
