Joe Budden says that he’s not going to accept Nicki Minaj’s invite to perform with her on the Pink Friday 2 World Tour and that he’s no longer in shape to do so. He discussed Nicki reaching out to him on a recent episode of his self-titled podcast. She apparently wanted him to perform “Pump It Up” as a special guest at her concert in his home state of New Jersey.

“I thought about it,” Budden admitted. When asked why he ended up saying no, he explained: “It ain’t the words; it’s my body. I gotta go out there and act hype, I ain’t hype no more! I didn’t let Jersey down.” When the clip made its way to Instagram, fans called on Budden to accept the offer. “Joe you be hype AF on that couch. Put the couch on the stage and go do it,” one user wrote. Another added: “I wish he had done it.”

Budden wouldn’t have been the first special guest Nicki has welcomed to the stage during her tour. She recently brought out hometown legend 50 Cent when she traveled to New York City’s Madison Square Garden. They performed their Pink Friday 2 collaboration “Beep Beep,” as well as 50’s classic hit, “Candy Shop.” 50 also seemingly trolled Diddy during the performance, telling the audience he loves them even if they are sex workers. Sharing that moment on Instagram afterward, he added in the caption: “I love you, you and you even if your a little sex workers, love ya it’s all love. The Barbz are out holding it down!”

However, those who can relate got a pretty killer replacement to make up for this loss for the trek’s newly announced and final two stops in New Jersey. Moreover, in addition to Lil Durk, the one and only Lil Wayne will hit Newark’s Prudential Center with his Young Money partner to close out the journey for two nights in a row on April 4 and 5. Many die-hards in Jersey reacted with much excitement, whereas others outside the area lamented missing out on this opportunity.

Furthermore, presale tickets go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, March 6) on Drake’s website for Cash App card members, whereas the general sale begins on Friday (March 8). However, it seems like Lil Wayne might pop out for other concerts with his desired (and purely hypothetical) Super Bowl halftime show co-performer, too. For example, the UBS Arena in Long Island posited via X that he will also perform at the March 28 and 29 tour stops there. SZA is on her second run of the incredibly successful SOS tour, which recently touched down in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday (October 11). Moreover, she’s been having a fantastic time, so much so that she hinted at her Brooklyn show that she might do a mini-tour for SOS‘ deluxe, Lana. However, the TDE singer wanted to give her hometown fans a special surprise, too, and who better to tap for it than another native of the city? Furthermore, none other than Sexyy Red joined her onstage to perform their joint appearance on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs, “Rich Baby Daddy.” By throwing it back, screaming the lyrics alongside the crowd, and just giving off some fun-loving energy, we’re sure plenty of St. Louis fans felt pretty fulfilled.

Of course, their styles are very different, but that’s not as important of a factor when you’re witnessing a live performance.
