M.I.A. Prepares For Her “MATA” Album With “Beep” Single: Listen

M.I.A.’s excitement for her sixth studio album is incredibly evident, especially after she threatened to leak the project herself if it wasn’t on streamers before September ended.

Seeing as October has officially begun and MATA still hasn’t arrived, it’s clear that the English rapper didn’t get her wish, though she did announce that the record will land on October 14th while delivering her third single so far, “Beep.”

The upbeat, rhythmic track is all about using your voice to make sure that you’re heard while staying true to yourself. It follows the arrival of previous songs like “Popular” and “The One” earlier this year.

“Next gen transcend women and men / Bring a noise, make it count, yeah do it again / Never stop, never give up, don’t pretend / Tell a friend all the rules you’re gonna bend,” M.I.A. rhymes on one of her verses.

While we didn’t hear from any collaborators on the singles, the 47-year-old previously hinted that she worked with the likes of Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj on her upcoming LP.

Tory Lanez Fuels Iggy Azalea Dating Rumours With “Y.D.S // Iggy DelDia”: Stream

Tory Lanez’s Sorry 4 What album already has some obvious fans (among them is LeBron James, although he’s received considerable backlash for praising the R&B artist), but there’s one song in particular that has the world’s attention right now – “Y.D.S // Iggy DelDia.”

Seeing as the PLAYBOY has been romantically linked to Australian beauty Iggy Azalea as of late, some are speculating that the song’s title could be a not-so-subtle name drop, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

On the second half of the track, Lanez sings, “Somebody need to thank your mama / For good face and for good ass on you / She come and need no drama / No fake friends and that’s a flex for you.”

The closing verse ends with “I watch when she buss down / Good, mm, when she buss down,” which very well could be a nod to Azalea’s frequent viral twerking moments.

‘Cause I’m on deck, on fire, don’t stop

Bitch got an ass like Kim but I hit that shit first and I feel like Ray J
It’s no switch on the Glock but it’s racks on the watch
And the automatic choppa do the same thing, ayy

dvsn Connects With Jagged Edge For Latest Single, “What’s Up”

As we make our way into R&B season, Canadian R&B duo dvsn has returned with a song that may just have you contemplating sending a text to your ex, called “What’s Up” featuring Jagged Edge.

If you tuned into the artist’s last single, “If I Get Caught Cheating,” this new arrival is a continuation of that, with the accompanying music video revealing the dire and often heartbreaking consequences that come along with infidelity.

“This song was made by us alongside Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox at a time when we were looking for the perfect way to describe the moments and emotions leading up to that late night text you know you shouldn’t send to someone,” dvsn shared in a statement.

“Please don’t mix this song with alcohol and pre-block anyone you know you shouldn’t be talking to. You have 30 mins,” they teased on Twitter ahead of the track’s debut at midnight.

YG & H.E.R. “Go Dumb” On Their Latest Collab Track

YG and H.E.R. made magic back in 2019 with their “Slide” collab track, and as we welcome the former’s highly anticipated I GOT ISSUES album, a new joint song from the duo has quickly emerged as a fan favourite on the tracklist.

Titled “Go Dumb,” the nearly four-and-a-half minute long bop finds the two artists trading sensual verses. “Your body is banging, you look better naked / That p*ssy smell like water, you don’t spray it with fragrance,” the West Coast rapper rhymes to the woman he’s got his eye on.

For her part, the R&B superstar sings, “You see the wrist and the ‘Rari and you know / Don’t need no rich n*gga, got it on my own / You talkin’ money, it ain’t no discussion / All these n*ggas ain’t really ’bout nothing.”

Quavo & Takeoff Drop Their Latest Single “Nothing Changed”

We’re less than a week away from the release of Quavo and Takeoff’s upcoming album, Only Built For Infinity Links. The new project will be their first as a duo, sans Offset. However, Quavo and Takeoff haven’t sounded as revitalized in the past five years as they have on the slew of singles they released since May’s “Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew).”

Today, the duo slid through with their fourth and presumably final single before the album drops in its entirety. “Never Changed” boasts production from Murda Beatz, Keanu Beats, and Fabio Aguilar, who create a spacey soundscape for Quavo and Takeoff. The two artists come through with honeyed melodies, paired with ostentatious bars that reflect their wealth and loyalty.

Only Built For Infinity Links will boast features from Birdman, Gucci Mane, Summer Walker, Young Thug, Gunna, and more.

Check out their new song below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Freddie Gibbs & Pusha T Pen A Cocaine Novella On “Gold Rings”

The wait is finally over. Freddie Gibbs came through with a potential AOTY contender this morning. Following weeks of anticipation with singles like “Too Much” and “Dark Hearted,” the Gary, IN native came through with $oul $old $eparately in its entirety. The new album from Kane boasts 15 songs with a few familiar faces including Pusha T.

Sevn Thomas, Sean Momberger, and Jahaan Sweet bring opulent harp strings for Freddie Gibbs and Pusha T’s latest collab, “Gold Rings.” As you’d expect, “Gold Rings” is a lyrically potent banger that finds the two heavyweight MCs trading cocaine tales. Gibbs kicks off the record, detailing love and heartbreak through the POV of the coke trade before Pusha T leaps into his verse that he describes as his “cocaine novella.”

The two rappers certainly don’t disappoint in their latest collaboration. They previously connected on Bandana highlight, “Palmolive” alongside Killer Mike. That one song sparked demand for a joint project between Gibbs and Push. Neither have shut the door on the possibilities but it seems more likely that we get the long-awaited Pusha T x Madlib album before a joint project with Freddie Gibbs.
