Quentin Miller Comes Through With “Strike…”

Quentin Miller has been dropping fantastic music throughout his career but he has not gotten the notoriety like some others have. He is from Atlanta, Georgia, one of the hottest spots for icons in the trap rap subgenre. T.I., Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Future, Migos, and many more are in the conversation for all-time Atlanta rap icons. However, Miller’s name is thrown off to the wayside and it is head scratching. He might not have the worldwide appeal but he can craft a track better than most.

He has proved that once more with his newest song, “Striked…” It was uploaded to his YouTube page Quentin Miller which has right around 31,000 subscribers. The song features thumping bass, light sound effects lingering in the background, and nicely autotuned vocals. It creates a wavy vibe that is perfect for a late-night drive with the windows down. The beat is so good, Miller lets it play out for the last 30 seconds or so.

Quentin Miller Has Worked With The Best

Besides making his own stuff, Miller has assisted in writing for some of the most highly touted records of the past decade or so. He has written for Drake, Nas, Big Sean, and other top-flight rappers in the game. In the month of January 2023, he was in the headlines, talking about Drake and Big Sean in particular. The scandal he got tied into was for the beef between Drake and Meek Mill, the former enemy of the Canadian star. Miller was accused by Mill for ghostwriting for Drake’s classic mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

Unfortunately for Miller, it might be a big reason why his name never got cleared due to all the backlash he received. What are your first impressions of this new song by Quentin Miller? Were you aware that he wrote some songs for Drake? Will this song make you check out his material? We want to hear all of your thoughts in the comments section below. Additionally, be sure to keep it locked with HNHH for the latest song releases from the mainstream and underground.

Yeat Reflects On His Success With Somber New Single “Bigger then everything”

Yeat is easily one of the more interesting artists out right now. Overall, he is someone who burst onto the scene thanks to his truly unique flow and voice. Moreover, his song “Sorry Bout That” was a viral smash that had lots of plays on TikTok. Now, however, he is much more established thanks to a plethora of incredible songs and projects. At this point, it seems clear that the artist is ready to take the leap to superstardom. If only more artists would feature him on their projects.

Perhaps there is a good reason for why Yeat has not featured on more songs. A lot of this has to do with just how unique he truly is. In order to have him on your song, you have to completely match his vibe. Either way, he continues to push forward, and fans are excited for his next move. As it turns out, a new album called Lifestyle might just be on the horizon. However, first, he has decided to drop a single simply called “Bigger then everything.” And yes, we know that is not grammatically correct.

Lakeyah Puts Her Spin On J-Kwon’s “Tipsy” With “In Da Club” From “The PixTape EP”

As J. Cole recently pointed out, the women of rap have been holding it down in 2023. It may have taken the genre over half a year to generate the first No. 1 hip-hop album and single, but still, the content we’ve heard coming from our favourite female artists these past few months has been incredible. Last New Music Friday (August 4), several up-and-comers, Lola Brooke, Flo Milli, BIA, Lakeyah, and Doechii came together to show their stuff with help from Angie Martinez and DJ Diamond Kuts on The PixTape EP.

Today, we’re spotlighting Lakeyah’s “In Da Club,” which finds the 22-year-old making great use of J-Kwon’s “Tipsy” beat. “One, here comes the two to three to the four / Every b**ch around me want the milli’ and amor,” Lakeyah reimagines the original lyrics on the first verse. “A ni**a whisper to me that he tryna see me more / I whisper back, ‘I am not a b**ch you can afford,’” she confidently continues just a few bars later.

Lakeyah is “In Da Club” This Summer

As AllHipHop notes, J-Kwon’s classic song peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2004. It appeared on his Hood Hop LP, which also boasts tracks like “You & Me” featuring Sadiyyah and “My Enemies” with Jermaine Dupri. The last album we heard from the rapper was his self-titled effort in March 2010. While he’s not generating hits like he used to, it’s certainly nice to see the industry pay homage to the past generation of artists.

Listen to Lakeyah’s confident “In Da Club” track above, and if you’re feeling it, be sure to add it to your playlist on Spotify/Apple Music. C Dot Castro And Logic Trade Bars On “Masked Up”

C Dot Castro and Logic have some new heat on the street that many fans will eat up. These two have worked together extensively lately, and “Masked Up” is just another banger to add to their collection. For those who do not know, C Dot Castro has been in the underground scene for quite some time. He has put out a good amount of work since the mid-2010’s and he is looking to break free from that.

Additionally, he joined Logic’s own record label, Bobby Boy Records. Other artists on the label include Travis Stacey, JRB, Big Lenbo, Doctor Destruction, John Lindahl, and Kajo. It began in 2019, originally under Elysium, but that has obviously changed. Logic also partnered with Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group to make this happen. C Dot Castro brings a lot of energy to the track, providing the chorus and a full-fleshed out verse.

Are C Dot Castro And Logic A Dynamic Duo?

It makes you wonder if C Dot and Logic should come together for a collab album because their chemistry is so effortless on “Masked Up.” It was difficult to decide who has the better verse because both bring speedy flows and great rhymes. C Dot raps, “Spin it back like a ereh-ereh mix, mm Got that dope when you itch for the quick fix My whole life I’ve been running with misfits My whole life I’ve been up in the trenches.” The “ereh-ereh” bar is fun when you listen to it because C Dot is mimicking what a record sounds like when you push it back and forth.

What are your thoughts on this new track from Logic and C Dot Castro? Who has the best verse on the song? With all of their collaborations out should they drop a collab album? Give us your thoughts on all of the above, below in the comments section. Additionally, be sure to stay locked in with HNHH for all the latest new music and all of the hottest song releases.
