DaBaby Goes Buck Wild On New Single “GRAMMY PARTY”

It really is not a secret anymore that for most hip-hop fans, DaBaby has gotten stale. His 2022 sequel record, Baby On Baby 2, left quite a sour taste in people’s mouths. Especially after the first installment had more memorable tracks like “Suge,” “Goin Baby,” “Baby Sitter,” and more. However, 2024 could be the year DaBaby turns things around.

The Cleveland, Ohio born rapper is back with his first solo release since his three track EP LET’S DO IT. That dropped back in October, so fans have been patiently waiting. “GRAMMY PARTY” sees DaBaby go insanely wild, as he raps with blistering speed over a bassy beat. He really packs a lot of words into each line, showcasing his technical abilities.

However, this is not DaBaby’s only release of the year. He has been busy in the feature department, working with artists like That Mexican OT and Icewear Vezzo. While this is his first streaming release in a few months, DaBaby has been dropping quite a bit on YouTube. Chloe Bailey Wants Real Love On “FYS”

Chloe and Halle Bailey have built strong careers for themselves over the past couple of years. Both are multi-talented in their own way and it has led to some amazing defining moments for them. For example, Halle landed the starring role in the live-action remake of the beloved Disney film The Little Mermaid. For Chloe, she has been thriving in the modeling department. All the proof you need is her bevy of Instagram photo dumps that fans have been thirsting over. Today though, Chloe Bailey is ditching the cameras and bright lights for a new single called “FYS.”

This marks the soon-to-be 26-year-old’s first single since the fourth teaser to her debut album, In Pieces. The title track dropped nearly a year ago to the day, so it has been a long time coming for Chloe. She is another R&B songstress with a buttery smooth voice. For us, it is one that we enjoy hearing when we can.

The main message she is getting across on “FYS” or (F*** Your Status), is that Chloe wants to love the person and not what they own. She sums it perfectly, “So I wrote this song to be like “f*** your status,” it doesn’t matter because I have this on my own. So you having cars and you having money it doesn’t really matter… I just want to love you.” Chloe continues, “This song is really just about loving someone for who they are and not what they have or can give you monetarily wise.”

Bossman Dlow Continues To Rise Rapidly With “Mr Pot Scraper”

He is only behind Kanye, Beyonce, SZA, and Bryson Tiller.

KILLY’s Auto-tuned Style Is All Over New Single “GLEE”

KILLY is always dropping atmospheric and grand auto-tuned bangers and he has another one for us today. The Toronto, Canadian’s style is definitely similar to that of Travis Scott, someone who is essentially the epitome of dark and psychedelic trap-flavored productions. The 26-year-old crooner dropped a new single back at the very beginning of February with “POP 2.” That then became a two-pack featuring an older track, “Life I Chose,” with Dom Corleo. There is no word if these two previous cuts will turn into a project of some kind. However, if we put our speculation goggles on for a second, that could be the case. We say that because KILLY is back with another one this month called “GLEE.”

Back in 2023, KILLY did drop an impressive but short project during the month of October. K3 featured some standout moments including “Cut Em Off,” “Same Energy,” and a collaboration with his late friend SEGA on “LOOK AT WHAT WE STARTED.” With “GLEE” you are getting very similar vibes from the aforementioned EP. The distorted and rumbling bass and screeching vocal lines are familiar but wavy.

In other news for KILLY, he will be heading out on a mini tour at the beginning of next month. DDG Is “Going To The Top” On His Latest Single

DDG for some reason just does not hit the sweet spot for us when it comes to crafting memorable tracks. The multi-hyphenate from Michigan does not have to be a wordsmith by any means. Creating easy-going tracks that are catchy is not a bad thing to make a career off of. However, DDG just does not have that special sauce even on his latest single “Going To The Top.”

This follows up his “She Don’t Play” offering from late December. It was more a of club/party track about a woman who could get whatever she wanted. There are a lot of artists who make similar music to DDG. But, what helps them stand out is the way they deliver their lyrics and the production choices they make.

For the past YouTuber, it seems that he selects basic flows and instrumentals that you will hear all over the current hip-hop landscape. “Going To The Top” is about grinding and flexing how far you have come and how no one is better. It is a common rap topic and has given us plenty of memorable tracks. Yet again though, DDG does nothing to show us why it should be worth going back to this. Russ Is Looking To Bury His Inner Demons On “In The Dirt”

Russ is the definition of a grinder. The Secaucus, New Jersey born rapper and singer is someone we talk about quite often here on the HNHH site because of his all gas and no brakes mentality. You can almost always count on him to drop a single at least once a month, sometimes twice, and a project of some sort every year. Russ could not go the entirety of February without giving us something, so he is here with “In The Dirt.”

His last effort “Drives” was about a relationship that was all sorts of complicated and messy. While it shows how versatile Russ is topically, it just did not work for us. However, “In The Dirt” is more or less a return to form for the Georgia resident. He gets back into his speedier rapping back and the message feels more profound here.

Russ is dealing with some mental stability while having a hard time controlling his life. In the opening lines he explains, “But uh, I had to get my head right, man, for real, for real / Take back control (Yeah) / I don’t think a lot of us realize the negative patterns that we get ourselves into, and uh / We’re the only ones that can pull ourselves out, you feel me?” That theme carries out the rest of the way and it leads to some simple yet effective writing.

Central Cee Goes Full R&B On “I Will”

Central Cee was one of the handful of talents from the UK who really helped the country represent itself well in 2023. While the West Londoner did not drop a project, his singles and features speak for themselves. From working with the biggest artists like Drake, Pink Pantheress, The Kid LAROI, and Dave, to getting an XXL Freshman bid, he really came into his own. Now, to open up 2024 Central Cee is bringing his first track called “I Will.”

However, this is not your typical UK drill Cee that you have become accustomed to. “I Will” sees him take a journey over the R&B genre for a song about giving a promiscuous woman a chance after meeting her at a night club. He raps on this one still but with a more low-key and slower delivery. Some of the lyrics are a little too much though.

“You got your c***hie shaved just in case you find the right male / Said your body count’s twelve, but your p***y tight still.” The beat is also a little to generic, but at least Central Cee is exploring different lanes. Quavo Labels Himself As “Himothy” On Latest Single

While the Migos are not really together anymore, Quavo and Offset and trying to carry the torch by going solo. Last year, both dropped their sophomore LPs with Quavo going first with his tribute to Takeoff, Rocket Power. Then, a month later, Offset would follow that offering up with SET IT OFF. Both did well amongst the fans and now Quavo is looking to have another solid year in 2024 with “Himothy.”

While he was taken off Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “FUK SUMN” to the fans dismay, he did still land on VULTURES 1 with “PAPERWORK.” After that Quavo and Travis Scott were getting the fans amped after they teased a new collaboration together at a Super Bowl bonanza. Lil Yachty Channels Playboi Carti On “Something Ether”

There are not many other artists in hip-hop right now doing it better than Lil Yachty in this time frame. For the past year and change Lil Boat has been a torrent run trying out a bevy of soundscapes within rap and even outside it. He basically hit the reset button at the beginning of 2023 and has not looked back since. This Friday is another busy one for the Georgia native as he is back with yet another single as well as a feature. Lil Yachty can be found on the deluxe version of Kid Cudi’s INSANO (NITRO MEGA) and on his own with “Something Ether.”

Something that has been really fun to see unfold for the 26-year-old is the improvement in lyricism. We saw this in spades on tracks like the J. Cole-assisted “The Secret Recipe,” and his most recent effort, “A Cold Sunday.” The beats were also fitting for those tracks, going lighter on the bass and drums. But with “Something Ether,” Yachty is going back to his previous trap-focused era in a way.

We say “in a way” because this song sounds like something that Playboi Carti was cooking up during his vamp era. This high-octane track is produced by the ever-so-talented Cardo. It sounds incredibly futuristic and definitely has a little bit of rage inspiration. Even Yachty’s “What” adlibs sounds like Carti’s. Still though, this outing is still a worthwhile addition to his hot streak of singles. Which makes sense considering ether is a flammable substance.
