Russ Is Looking To Bury His Inner Demons On “In The Dirt”

Russ is the definition of a grinder. The Secaucus, New Jersey born rapper and singer is someone we talk about quite often here on the HNHH site because of his all gas and no brakes mentality. You can almost always count on him to drop a single at least once a month, sometimes twice, and a project of some sort every year. Russ could not go the entirety of February without giving us something, so he is here with “In The Dirt.”

His last effort “Drives” was about a relationship that was all sorts of complicated and messy. While it shows how versatile Russ is topically, it just did not work for us. However, “In The Dirt” is more or less a return to form for the Georgia resident. He gets back into his speedier rapping back and the message feels more profound here.

Listen To “In The Dirt” By Russ

Russ is dealing with some mental stability while having a hard time controlling his life. In the opening lines he explains, “But uh, I had to get my head right, man, for real, for real / Take back control (Yeah) / I don’t think a lot of us realize the negative patterns that we get ourselves into, and uh / We’re the only ones that can pull ourselves out, you feel me?” That theme carries out the rest of the way and it leads to some simple yet effective writing.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “In The Dirt,” by Russ? Is this the stronger of the two recent songs, why or why not? Is this the best song he has put out in 2024, why or why not? Should he drop a new album this year? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Russ. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Quotable Lyrics:

Victory’s subjеctive in this game, it’s a f****n’ contest
Everybody’s brainwashed, we ain’t on the same time but look up at the same clock
Different destinations, but we get off at the same stop
Everyone confused, we don’t know how we ended up where we at
But we refuse to take accountability for the mindset that we choose
We forgot to lock the door, the devil’s takin’ off his shoes

Saweetie Previews New Track “Richtivities”

Saweetie posted up poolside to preview her new track “Richtivities”. The hook (“I’m doing rich sh-t”) played on repeat as the rapper vibed in pleated corset top and dark pants. From what is heard, the track has Saweetie’s classic pointed vocals and hard, hype-style beat.

Fans online seemed pretty pumped for the track. “I kinda like it her music b gettin me hyped when i b doin my makeup & she talkin dat pretty b shi shes not the most lyrical obviously but it b a cool lil vibe,” one person said. However, not everyone was digging the track. “I want Saweetie to go back to her style during 2019. That icy girl/boujee girl flow was EVERYTHING,” another commenter countered.

Saweetie Wants To Pursue Villain Acting

However, new music isn’t the only thing on Saweetie’s mind. Speaking with Metro in March 2023, Saweetie revealed the sort of acting role she wants to pursue. “I can see myself doing more TV and film projects. I definitely want to be a supervillain in the DC movies. I dressed up as Harley Quinn…I love getting into character and dressing up.” she said. Furthermore, Saweetie’s declaration comes at the perfect time as the DC Cinematic Universe undergoes a significant transformation. In an attempt to move away from the Zach Synder “DC Extended Universe”, James Gunn will launch the “DC Universe” in 2025 with Superman: Legacy. Other films announced for this reboot of a DC shared universe include The Authority, The Brave And The Bold, Supergirl: World Of Tomorrow, and Swamp Thing. There will also be TV projects in the form of Creature Commandos, Waller, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, and Booster Gold.

There are so many fantastic villains and anti-heroes contained within these properties. The Brave And The Bold, based on Grant Morris’ Batman comics, would be the perfect place to introduce Saweetie as Harley Quinn. Alternatively, Saweetie could flex her anti-hero muscles in a role like Bride of Frankenstein, a core member of the Suicide Squad-esque Creature Commandos. Additionally, the Game Of Thrones-esque Paradise Lost is going to need plenty of villains. Overall, there is a wealth of villain roles that are about to become available in the DC Universe. Perhaps we will see Saweetie take up the mantle of one of them.

Yeat Teases New Song On Live, Reveals Length Of Upcoming Album

Yeat has previewed a new song while streaming on Instagram. Yeat played the new track, complete with a pretty fire beat switch. It’s likely that the song will appear on Yeat’s upcoming album. Speaking of the album, he also revealed that the album will be a 25-track juggernaut. Yeat announced the track count on his Instagram post that simply said “25 song”.

The life cycle of LyfëStyle has been a fascinating one. It was expected to be released over the summer but was delayed indefinitely. It’s now unclear when the album will drop, with some sources saying it will be out as late as December 2024. Yeat himself has not put out anything confirming when the album will be out.

Yeat Used Young Thug As His Yearbook Quote

Back in August, Yeat went viral for his alleged yearbook quote. According to images shared online, his yearbook quote is lyrics attributed to “Thugga”. Except the quote is wrong. Or at the very least, it’s not one continuous lyric. According to the image, Yeat submitted “I got hundreds on top of hunnids. That blue cheese, NOT ranch.” But this appears to a mashup of two lyrics. The first part of the quote is from “Problem“. Meanwhile, the second half of the quote is from “Homie”. The two lyrics in full are “I got hundreds sittin’ on hundreds, that blue cheese, I’m not ranchin’” and “I got blue cheese on me, all hundreds/Blue cheese no ranch.”

However, that’s not the only thing people were reacting to in the image. While most people have a very standardized yearbook photo. Meanwhile, he is draped in tartan and wearing ski goggles, which is certainly a look. However, the combination of the irregular photo and the weird lyric has led many people to declare that the image is faked. Furthermore, the image has been circulating since late May, around when Yeat and Young Thug collaborated on “My Wrist”. Do you think it’s real?

Babyface Ray Starts Summer Off Right With “All Star Team”

Detroit rapper Babyface Ray doesn’t waste much time between new releases. He’s back with his second new single of 2023 already and it’s a bop. His first single “Ron Artest” dropped back in February and featured 42 Dugg. Now he’s back with another sports themed track in “All Star Team.” While the song runs less than two minutes it still has an upbeat vibe and plenty of quotable bars. The accompanying music video perfectly captures its indulgence and excess.

It’s unclear if the song is expected to land on a forthcoming album. Even if it doesn’t, fans likely won’t have to wait long to hear from Babyface Ray again. Aside from his own songs he’s also made some guest appearances this year. First he showed up on the song “2 Million Up” with Peezy, Icewear Vezzo, and Skilla Baby. Then he guested on Only Tuesday’s song “Fair Exchange.”

Babyface Ray’s Summer Bop

Babyface Ray’s last project MOB dropped last year. The album featured contributions from Lil Durk, Blxst, Doe Boy, and more. He’s continued dropping material often despite being arrested late last year on outstanding warrants after his car broke down. Either way, this new song could very well be an indication that something new is on the horizon. The Summer is a great time for new releases, and we could very well see that with Babyface Ray. At least that is what the fans are hoping for.

A few months ago Babyface Ray made headlines when he claimed social media had made 9 to 5 jobs “lame” as people try to put forth a fake lifestyle. What do you think of Babyface Ray’s new song and music video? Let us know in the comment section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will be sure to bring you the biggest tracks from the biggest artists.

Quotable Lyrics:

I’m standin’ on the couch, smokin’, throwin’ gang signs
The vision gettin’ clearer, in a different lane now
The Birkin’s for the trauma, it just numb the pain now
You was in the back, but you do your thing, huh?

Joyner Lucas And NBA Youngboy Link Up For New Single “Cut U Off”

Joyner Lucas has been treating his fans to a lot of new music in the lead-up to his forthcoming album. Since March he’s dropped 4 new tracks, the most recent of which sports a feature from NBA Youngboy. “Cut U Off” starts lowkey and gives both artists the chance to flex their lyrical game. Once the beat drops though it becomes a high-energy banger. Surprisingly, Youngboy morphs his sound quite a bit to blend in with Joyner’s energy and the results are great.

This is the first time Joyner Lucas and NBA Youngboy have appeared on a track together. The two have previously occupied different lanes and styles of hip hop though they merge surprisingly well on “Cut U Off.” In an earlier single released this year, Joyner teamed up with another unlikely artist, Future. Their collaboration “Blackout” got fans’ attention for similar reasons and has racked up millions of plays since it first dropped back in April.

Joyner Lucas And Youngboy Crossover

Joyner Lucas has dropped four new singles so far this year. On top of his collaborations with Future and NBA Youngboy he’s also released two solo songs called “Devil’s Work 2” and “What’s That?” This output is nothing compared to what Youngboy has dropped, however. In just 2023 alone the rapper has released three entire new albums. The first of which I Rest My Case came out right at the start of the year and featured 19 Youngboy tracks with no features. He followed that up in April with the album Don’t Try This At Home. The record contained hit songs that featured artists like Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI.

He released Richest Opp his third album of the year so far last month. Despite the persistent release schedule each of the albums have performed quite well. All three projects managed to debut in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 including Richest Opp which made the top 5. What do you think of Joyner Lucas and NBA Youngboy’s new track? Let us know in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can tell they switchin’ when I read the signs
Ain’t too many left in my circle, had to re-design (Ayy)
Uh, I got comfortable with disappointment, so I’ll be just fine (Yeah)
Rather be alone, I’ve been valuin’ my peace of mind (Yeah, yeah)
Keep it funky, we don’t need to vibe
If you hit my line and I don’t answer, don’t you be surprised (Yeah)
You ain’t on my wave, hope that you can read between the lines
